mizk I am the weird man who just requested to be friends with you Grin. 2.5 stone sounds great BUT I worked out this week that I have EIGHT STONE to lose before I'm just overweight, not obese!! Shock I'm going to be one of those women with the before and after photos and ginormous trousers you see on This Morning Grin

Four4me · 12/12/2011 13:49

Hi I hope that all of you with poorly babies and dh's are having a better day. Poor things.

We have had a run of snotty noses and coughs here.

Today I feel bloody awful but completely self inflicted! We went out with another couple on Saturday night and I think I drank the last 18 months worth of units in one night (don't drink at home, as I hate wine!) my friend and I had 4 sex on the beach cocktails, champagne and strawberry concoction, then started on Jaguer bomber things omg I loved them but never again!! It was the first time in over a year that there were no children in our house as Joey and Imogen went to my parents and my pil had Tom and Archie. It was the first time Archie had been for a 'sleep over' and he refused to have a bottle, which was no surprise so had two baby jars of porridge at bed and breakfast instead. Anyway they all had a great time and it was lovely to have a break. I am fearing some rather bad photos will end up on fb if my friend has anything to do with it!!!!

Jane I loved reading about your wedding, I think we did the Loc Loman (?sp) dance at my sil wedding, was it at the end when you surround the bride and groom. Very moving music.

wiggles hope you can sort out work, it must be hard juggling that and the girls with you dh shifts. I would struggle. It is quite old fashioned here dh runs the business and I 'run' the house, kids etc etc, he is like your dh and brilliantly hand on as a dad, thank god.

For those of you that remember Thomas was having loads of ear infections, got to ent last Friday and the consultant was delighted with how it has cleared up (thank god) and wants to see him again in 8 weeks. He is sooooo excited about getting a Ben 10 watch thing for Christmas, such a poppet. Imogen wants a scootscoot (mini micro scooter)!!!!!!

Take care all. X

janedoe25 · 12/12/2011 14:29

four4me Shock at 2 day hangover.Grin
It is Loch Lomond "Me and my true love will nevr meet again at the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond". Yes that is the one.
Glad hear Tom's ears are fine.

Grin at debka the weird man.

Hmm, just realised we have not heard from borg in a while.

ledkr · 12/12/2011 15:50

Sorry feb ladies,i am trying to keep up but im up to my eyes with the show and fecking xmas shopping with no wages Sad Dh spends half his life at the pc but seems to achieve very little towards xmas or the general running of the house Angry

Pil visit was ok largely due to the fact i wasnt here for much of it Grin fil was up at the crack of dawn flapping about there not being enough bowls for breakfast "WILL YOU FUCK THE FUCK OFF MAN" He found my concealed fruity shredded wheat tho but mot my country life yeh!

Off again now to take a tired Ella to rehearsal,im not sure how she is keepig going tbh.

Deliaskis · 12/12/2011 16:28

Hi folks,

Hope Monday is going OK for everybody. Ony 2 weeks until Christmas yikes!

All well here, we had a lovely weekend and Claudia has been an angel child and we've all been in good health and humour, we achieved a lot, and everything went well. It's been rather a long time since any two of those things happened at one time, let alone all, so I am feeling rather pleased.

I sang in a thing on Saturday at our local shopping centre, and DH brought Claudia, and my singing friends haven't seen her before (well some have on fb) and so everybody was cooing about how gorgeous she is, which made me feel Grin.

Booo to poor poorly babies, it's so horrid isn't it?

Ponyo re bedroom temp we have tried putting a portable radiator in C's room to keep it a bit warmer as it's always down to about 14 degrees in the wee small hours, but everytime we use the radiator, she wakes up crying, for no reason, so can only assume she doesn't like being warm at night, and in fact quite likes having freeeeeeezing cold hands. Weirdo.

Four4Me yay for drunken night out sans enfants (well I mean not that you would have a drunken night out with them, but you know what I mean), sounds like you had a boozy time!

I'm finally feeling a bit festive, so it's the great mince-pie bake-off tonight, as well as tree decorating, we went for a little one in the end (wimp)!

D

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 12/12/2011 16:30

Grr, posted but then lost it

ledkr when is ellas dance thing? Sounds quite complex if it requires all this rehersal. Glad PIL have left relatively incident free (and that your country life is still intact Wink )

waves to four4 . sound like a fun night Wink

deb I have over 4 stone to go till my pre preg weight Shock . But, drum roll please I lost 5 lbs in the past month Grin Grin

I'm going to try and upload to my profile a piccie of a door sign I hand sewed for Alice this week end. Following from some kind comments about my 'happy christmas' one I made I put on fb I'm wondering whether to start selling them. No idea where to start, if they are good enough etc though. I reckon I could do at least a couple before christmas though. Anyone have any ideas or want to buy one ?

ems and ponyo how are the poorly ones?

Emski76 · 12/12/2011 20:00

Hey all
Miz K, good to hear from you. Have found you on fb. Lovely, lovely family!

Four4me, hello and good to hear all ok with you. What's your rl name? Let us all befriend you on fb! Get a look at those drunken antics! Glad Thomas' ears are looking better.

Led, what is Ella performing in? Sounds like things are hectic for you at the moment.

Delia, wow to your singing!

Reastie, you should definitely sell the lovely things you make. You could make things that aren't Christmassy too and sell them at craft fayres etc. you need to research on the net for pricing etc.

Well, took Noah to the docs this morning. The doc was concerned about his eye and cough so gave him antibiotics. I refused any with penicillin as Ben had a reaction to it a while back, his eye is less swollen, and he hasn't been sick today, so far.
BUT Ben seems a bit poorly now! He had a temp of 38.8 when he went to bed so we've left his bedroom door open in case he needs us in the night. Am hoping he doesnt have the bug, don't think I can cope with anymore illness!!

wigglesrock · 12/12/2011 20:50

Four4Me So glad Ts ears on the up and that the consultant is so pleased with him. I don't like wine either so I tend not to drink in the house and have experienced the let loose in the pub two day hangover before. Its not pleasant Grin

Emski sorry boys are unwell, fingers crossed the bug passes Ben by.

Reastie I can't see your photos Shock, I am hugely slightly obsessed with personalised name hangers/plaques etc, have you posted a piccie up? You could set up your own website. I really liked the little doggy you made last year.

ledkr I feel your pain re the running around and the lack of money Sad

debka you are doing so well with the weight - technically I am in the obese band - how very dare they Grin Am sure you feel brilliant and if you don't you bloody well should woman!!

deliaskis so glad you had a lovely weekend with C. When we went for lunch yesterday we went to my work (boo, hiss) and it was the first time Anna had been there when a lot of staff were in and she was fussed over all afternoon, it was lovely Grin

Am refusing to stress about work, I have no more Sundays until Feb, I finish in two weeks and am not back in until mid Jan, Sofia has her Nativity this week and it looks like Mr W might be able to make one of the shows, so dare I say it .... its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas Grin

Ps Have put a few photos up and Anna pulled the Christmas tree down yesterday morning Blush

Borg and byronicheroine, 40Weeks hope you are all ok?

ILovePonyo · 12/12/2011 20:51

Evening!

emski another poorly household, poor you, hope Ben is ok tonight. Glad N seems to be on the mend though.

MizK I have never seen Die Hard either, don't think I'm missing out Grin Will look for you on fb... (ha at Deb being a random man)

Four4 tut tut at self inflicted illness Grin (jager bombs are yummy) and aww at a "scootscoot" - that is very cute!

deb the lack of oil in SW recipes must make a big difference then? I am such a fan of all bread products that I don't know if I could do it, am getting more tempted to give it a try though after your success! Hope you enjoyed your morning off :)

delia thats so nice about your singing friends cooing over C, I always get proud when people fuss over A. Your weekend sounds lovely too, are you well and truly in the festive spirit now then?!

ledkr you and Els sound busy, I also want to know what she is performing in!

jane I was also wondering where Borg is? Hope she is ok and lurking

Well A is much better, she went to nursery today and they said she was fine, she ate a lot and was sometimes tearful so had a lot of cuddles but thats ok. She was tired and grumpy at home so went to bed at 6.45 Shock but we could tell she was better this morning when she was crawling around talking and trying to eat the cat food :)

ILovePonyo · 12/12/2011 20:54

x post wiggles - lovely pics of your cheeky girls! O reminds me of my sis when she was little, same haircut and cheeky face :)

reastie I can't see your photos either :(

debka · 12/12/2011 21:08

I can see reastie's photos Looks gorgeous R, well done you. You'd have to make an awful lot of them to sell at Craft Fairs, and you might not get the money you deserve, given the time they take. (DH's business is craft fairs so I know a little).

ponyo and emski glad your LOs are better, fx Ben doesn't get it too.

wiggs they are such sisters your girls, love them :)

I feel bloody marvellous, thanks everyone for well dones. Hoping to get my Club 10 tomorrow (10% of body weight).

Right, off to bed with me, have battened down the hatches against the hurricane blowing outside Grin

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 12/12/2011 21:15

OK, I've put the piccie here as I'm having profile 'issues' . I don't really want to go down the craft fair etc route straight away - just would like to sell a few to make a few squid and see how things go. For the time it takes me (sewing it all by hand) I'm not going to make a fortune, but every little helps Grin

wiggles LOVE the piccies - esp the christmas outfit. How did you get Anna to keep that head thing on? Whenever I try anything like that on Alice it comes straight back.

ems hope ben isn't getting it too

ponyo glad A was better today and Hmm to the cat food

deb fingers crossed for your club 10. Tis super windy here too.

I was thinking of 40 borg and byron the other day too

wigglesrock · 12/12/2011 22:19

reastie its gorgeous, I really like the spotty material. Annas outfit came from my ashtray aunt Grin, its from Debs. There is an actual hat to go with the outfit, she has a pair deedley boppers with an elf hat on (they're Sofias courtesy of Poundland) Anna does anything Sofia asks her to [eyeroll], she absolutely worships Sofia. I can't get Anna to keep a hat on/hood up either, she throws it to the floor with a very disdainful look on her face Grin.

Night night - I have a lovely hairdressing appt tomorrow morning, time to de-grey again Shock. Its part of my Christmas box from Mr W, so might stick a few fancy nancy gift sets on the bill Grin

ledkr · 13/12/2011 08:53

wiggs thanks for the sisterhood re xmas.No farking pleasure whatsoever for me all shopping, thinking and spending and i havent even started on the wrapping yet.
Ihad my hair done yesterday, its all blonde and lovely-for now.
Ella is in a semi pro version of Alice in wonderland. She has various dances and constant bloody rehearsals.I had abreak thru yesterday tho cos she is also in her school productuin tonight so dancing let her off tonights rehearsal.Still have to go to the school one tho grr its not far tho and is near the pub too Grin
Thank god D is sleeping now tho. It was my turn to lie in today so it was the usual half an hour before the girls were screaming with play noises whilst dh watched the history channel.

Hope everyone is ok,sorry for not keeeping up.I want to get everything done before i slide onto the sofa with a Bailys and some xmas nuts Grin

janedoe25 · 13/12/2011 11:12

reastie I really love your bunting.

Lovely photos wiggles.

We are not really celebrating christmas this year but we are buying pressies for each other and for the neices/nephews and my kid bros/sis. My parents keep on at me to throw myself into celebrations to "forget". Angry

debka · 13/12/2011 13:31

Nigella answered my question!!! Grin

wigglesrock · 13/12/2011 15:31

jane I can imagine how frustrating that must be. The secretary in Olivias nursery - her adult son died this summer in a freak accident and she was talking this morning about how she almost longs for it to be the day after the first anniversary of his death. She is tired and angry of so many first without him. She is doing absolutely nothing for Christmas this year. She said she's afraid that if she puts up a tree she might feck it through the window and the unfairness of it all.

debka Nigella who? Grin

Right de-badgered, hair a lovely brown/red colour and more importantly cut! and also managed to pick up some presents this morning so feel slightly more organised.

wigglesrock · 13/12/2011 15:32

at the unfairness of it all Blush

janedoe25 · 13/12/2011 16:03

Wiggles, I feel the same. All the firsts are horridSad.

Debka Grin at nigella, what did you ask her?

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 13/12/2011 18:19

Hello all,

Please can I have some massive brownie points - I dropped in on MIL while we were out today. deb you will be interested in this (I think) - she showed me a little poster display she still has from her old SW meetings when she was slimmer of the YEAR at her group losing over 4 stone in 18 months Shock - that'll be you next Wink . How was the weigh in tonight? Did you get the certificate?

ledkr you're making me tired just talking about all this rehearsing ella has to do

Oh, go deb 'chatting' to Nigella Envy . I was thinking the same question btw - I'm watching masterchef the professionals and how the michele chef man stays so skinny when he cooks and tastes food all day I'll never know Confused

jane you do what you want to do at christmas and sod ignore the lot of them

wiggles Grin to being debadgered - glad you've got your hair all glam for chrimbo Grin

ems how is dh?

Emski76 · 13/12/2011 20:13

Hi all
Another busy day here. Dh was home poorly again today, Noah's loads better and hopefully going to nursery tomorrow, and Bens cough is loads better. I've just got back from Rainbows, it was the last session before Xmas and we had a dance teacher teaching is a dance routine, loads of fun!

Jane, why would you want to enjoy Christmas and 'forget', what a ridiculous thing to say to you! You and dh must do whatever you feel is right.

Wiggles, you sound all glammed up!

Ponyo, I'm glad Anya seems better, it's horrible when the little ones are poorly, isn't it.

Deb, hope you get your Club 10, let us know.

It's my work Xmas meal Friday and Im desperately trying to loose a few pounds (ideally a stone) by then!

ILovePonyo · 13/12/2011 20:49

Hello you glam lot with your new hairdos - am Xmas Envy

reastie I read an interview with michele masterchef and apparently he doesn't really drink and his way to relax is going running - explains a lot! uselss info ponyo Love your crafty decorations, they are so pretty. Ho uch would you sell them for?

emski sorry but Grin at the losing a stone before xmas do - that is the kind of thing I'd do too - good luck with it I say - if nothing else you'll be hungry for your xmas meal by then! Can't believe your poor dh is poorly now too - everyhting at once isn't it.

jane really can't blame you for not wanting a xmas this year, hopefully it'll be over with nice and quick for you. The 'firsts' must be so hard, hope you and dh are looking after each other.

A has been so grumpy in the evening when we get her from nursery, she is very tired but won't nap, we put her to bed at 6.45 again today. Although we have started putting on In the night garden to keep her entertained Hmm I never thought I'd know what a ninky nonk was Confused

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 13/12/2011 21:11

ponyo Grin to ninky nork (which I have no idea what or who it is btw - we can't get cbeebies with our dodgy signal Confused ). Not sure re: selling the crafty things as they take a few hours to make (and costs of materials etc). I was thinking £20 for 4 letter word (plus the 2 patterned hearts on each side) and then charge per extra letter afterwards Hmm . That's cheaper than a similar one from 'not on the high street' Grin . Are you interested? Wink hint hint

ems glad Noah is better at least. You're V good still helping at Rainbows - I've given up brownies Blush - no one to look after Alice for me and I'll be no help if I have to look after her too (esp as it clashes with her dinner time)

Forgot to say Alice coming down with a cold so we had to skip baby sensory Sad . Feel really sad as it's the penultimate one I'll ever get to take her too Confused

Tarlia · 13/12/2011 21:21

Marking my place, off to try and catch up!

Hope you are all well x

debka · 13/12/2011 21:22

Hey everyone well you can come off your tenterhooks- I DID IT!! Lost 5lb this week, got my 2.5st award AND Club 10. Super chuffed Grin. Well done your MiL reastie! BTW I love Masterchef too, missed it tonight though. I was glad Claire stayed in, I like her but I think Ash will win overall.

ponyo Grin at ninky nonk- Imy loooves ITNG but it's on a teatime so I've Sky plus-ed some episodes which makes a little girl v happy. Downside is I've been singing Yes, My Name is Iggle Piggle, Iggle Piggle Iggle Piggle all day Angry

jane surely Christmas is a time to remember Zoe not forget. Really hope you have another one cooking by then :)

ems good luck with the stone in a few days! You need one of these Grin

wiggles Envy at hair.

Am a bit worried about my implant, it's bothering me, it keeps feeling a bit sore and stabby. Rang the nurse today and she said I have to go in next week for her to Sort It Out if it doesn't settle down. Feck.
