Just checking in, all is fine here. Yay reastie for Alice's babbles! Claudia's been really gobby lately.

Last night she was really cute tho, I put her to bed at my Mum's (I'm there this week as DH is away and it's easier having company/help mornings and evenings), and she was fine, really quiet, but on the video monitor, I watched her clapping to herself for about 10 minutes before she finally rolled over and went to sleep. They were real proper flat-hand claps that you could hear as well, not just random waving of hands. I wonder what was going through her head...'yes, really sleepy tonight, but must just practice my clapping before I doze off...'.

She's STILL not crawling but is desparate too and is really frustrated.

[Waves] to everyone else, I'm v behind on what's been going on....

Dx

WeAreBorg · 29/11/2011 16:46

I've forgiven the sparky for being late, he said I looked young Smile.
delia very cute, N did that the other night, he was clapping in his sleep! DH and I were laughing at him which woke him up though. reastie yay for the Alice babble, N doesn't say much despite his intensive bilingual training programme my parents have put him through.

chocoroo · 29/11/2011 19:46

Evening!

Another ice cream night here as we're all under the weather - R's brought the snot home from nursery :(

borg We have a gym at work so I block out an hour in my diary and pop off. I usually go late morning as it gets busy at lunchtime but I'm lucky as my boss is in the States so very flexible on working hours. I'm actually enjoying it although I felt poo so didn't go today.

reastie Yay for the baba and dada. R is always going on about something now but not at anything in particular. DP would be thrilled if we got an actual dada!

jane I think with your experience you'd be a great midwife. Although I understand that you might find it hard your strength would be inspiring to ladies in a similar position. And deb you'd be fab too - I can see you as a really supportive community MW.

delia I love the random clapping and waving as they're falling to sleep. It's so cute :)

Right. I have ice cream and Frozen Planet to deal with before R wakes up coughing and pukes all over her room like last night!

Hello

Trying to get caught up, how many times have we discussed you all not talking when I'm at work Grin

reastie really gorgeous pics, she's scrummy.

chocoroo we have coughing and puking here too (from Anna)

hubbard glad you at least have x-ray appt, hope you get heating sorted

Anna seems to be getting a rake of teeth at once, she's grumpy in the evenings and her cheeks are on fire. My teeth are still absolute agony, am getting them all sorted on Thu morning, but I'm in so much pain, I almost cried like a child in Boots today when the pharmacist told me that he didn't have any special magic painkillers that would make the pain go away Grin. Tried to palm me off with co-codamol, they're not helping Angry

Anna isn't much of a clapper, will point and babble away and is deffo calling the dog, but her funniest thing is when my Mum rings and Anna can hear her voice and laughs away, its really cute Grin

debka · 29/11/2011 21:07

wiggs PM me your address and I'll send you some of my mum's morphine Wink, got all the hard stuff here Grin

choc hope you don't get vomit o'clock tonight, yuk.

dleia that's so cute, I am v Envy of your video monitor.

Weigh in tonight and I lost a magnificent SIX POUNDS!!! I'm like this Grin. I got my 2 stone award AND sliimer of the month award too. Both certificates are proudly displayed on my kitchen cupboards!

janedoe25 · 29/11/2011 21:42

Debka a huge well done!!!!!!!! You must be so proud, I sense a new wardrobe coming your way. GrinGrin

Wiggles I miss your chat! Hope your teeth are not too bad for you Sad poor Anna too.

Delia how cute is c Grin.

wigglesrock · 29/11/2011 22:01

jane I missed you too babelicious but I've been shit company, seriously I'm not going to moan about it any more but feck me the pain. Its just some fillings I need but I haven't been able to sleep, or more disappointingly eat Grin

debka you're so thoughtful Grin, well done on the weightloss, as jane says you must be so proud of yourself, it really is a huge achievement. I agree new clothes must be on the way Grin

Olivia had her open day for primary school last night. Nothing says Christmas more than a group of eight year olds with recorders murdering "O Christmas Tree" Grin Although a little boy got up and sang Little Donkey, not a dry eye in the house. I met a few people I went to school with, all of whom told me that Olivia was just like me, unfortunately Olivia seemed to be more concerned with leading raiding parties on the biscuits that were left out for the parents than school Blush

Ps This time next week I'll be in Paris, alone, well with Mr W but it will be oh so quiet!

debka · 30/11/2011 14:17

Where are you all!!! MN isn't on strike as well you know Wink

wiggs O sounds like such a character... Poor you and your teeth though,NOTHING worse than toothache. :(

jane I bloody wish, my trousers are loose but still fit!! WTF??!!!

S was coughing for an hour last night, in the end I put my ear plugs in and went back to sleep Blush Grin Lay in till 6.30 though, lucky me :)

Deliaskis · 30/11/2011 14:26

Waves at Deb I'm here. Well at work so not posting much, but yeah, can't believe a whole day up to gone 2pm with no posts......hellooooooooo [echo] is anybody ooooouuuuuuut theeeeeeeere?

Drove past one kind of NHS type place on the way to work (not a hospital, but a unit of some kind) and there was one lonely striker with a placard. I assume he has some company by now or it will be a long lonely day.

So DH back tomorrow [hoorah] so I assume it would be fair of me to make him do all Claudia-related night-time shenanigans at the weekend, given that he has had three whole nights sleeping in a hotel?

wiggles vicariously excited for you re Paris!

Dx

janedoe25 · 30/11/2011 14:34

I'm here!

debka Thas odd that your clothes still fit, have you lost all the weight from your boobies? Grin

delia enjoy your nights of sleep!

wiggles Ooh Paris Am i right in thinking this is for Mr Wiggles big 4-0, or did I just make that up? Grin

I have been enjoying a lovely lazy day to myself, went shopping for new kitchen accessories (sp?) changing to purple in the kitchen.I am now Mnetting whilst watching crappy day time tv- Ah the joys. Grin

reastie · 30/11/2011 14:54

I'm here Grin you can't escape me I'm afraid

jane what is your crappy TV of choice? I'm currently watching 'may the best house win' Blush

wiggs hope the teeth are better for paris. Envy of you getting time away on your own with the love god mr w's

deb Angry that clothes still fitting - new wardrobe soon.

I can't believe it but I actually slept the WHOLE night last night - I had nearly 9 hours Shock Grin . Even when Alice sleeps through I never seem able to. I think that is the first full nights sleep since before I was pg Shock

Went in to town earlier d and loads of school ages children out and about so think a few schools around here must be closed. Oh, and it's expected I think to get DH to do night time duty. Btw you always make me coo about all the cute things C does in her cot. I'm so Envy of the video monitor.

Deliaskis · 30/11/2011 15:16

Yay reastie on good night's sleep. I had an annoying night last night, where C slept fine, but I was on pins as she was snotty so I assumed she wouldn't sleep well, and was concerned about her yelling all night and waking my Mum & Dad up. So she slept fine, I seemed to spend half the night awake listening out for her.

Video monitor is v good tho, DSis got it for us when we had C and it has been the best gift we received I think.

D

WeAreBorg · 30/11/2011 16:42

Hello chums,

wiggles agree with deb, nowt worse than toothache, it drives you insane. Hope you have a lovely time in Paris, I'm not jealous at all

reastie well done for sleeping! I have just discovered the delights of may the best house win, it's great.

deb maybe your clothes shrank in the wash, mine have. Others may think that I have put on weight but they are so wrong. You are doing brilliantly though, I'm am so impressed.

Went to soft play today forgetting about the strike. Lots of school age girls, Nate made a few very enthusiastic friends Hmm

WeAreBorg · 30/11/2011 16:45

Time for one of my random questions; what are you doing about Christmas trees? Are you fencing them off somehow? The combination of loose wires, lights and swallowing sized decorations is going to prove iresistable to Nate I fear

Deliaskis · 30/11/2011 17:31

Just a little paranoid question but are any of the Feb babies still not crawling? C hasn't cracked it yet, she gets into crawling position and then doesn't move, or if she's sat up she bounces on her bum and moves around a bit that way.

She does pull up to standing tho, but not really on things, only really if you're holding her hands (but she does the pulling, my hands might as well be the side of the coffee table, she just doesn't seem to want to pull up on 'things'). She walks a bit holding our hands.

She can roll over both ways, but doesn't seem that bothered, i.e. doesn't do it a lot and doesn't use it to get to things.

She sits up fine, leans, reaches, actually this is how she ends up on all fours. She just doesn't go anywhere.

Please tell me this isn't a problem? I know everyone says babies all do things at their own speed, but I am getting a little paranoid TBH.

Dx

Deliaskis · 30/11/2011 17:32

Borg your Christmas tree post actually prompted mine re crawling as it reminded me I meant to ask, as everybody seems to be worrying about babies trashing/eating them, and C is still mostly where I leave her.

janedoe25 · 30/11/2011 17:46

delia Not every baby crawls, some go straight to walking.

reastie Yip, that was my crap tv of choice too!

borg I tend to barricade my tree with various objects when I have baby mindees, seems to wored so far.

reastie · 30/11/2011 17:54

d can't comment on crawling as Alice is, but a hv told my friend they don't see it as a problem if babies can't sit up yet at 1 year Hmm

jane and borg glad to share rubbish tv choices with you Grin . My personal fave is four in a bed

borg re: christmas trees - I was all for getting a big one and dragging alice away from it all the time but I can't be bothered with all that so we are ahving our usual smallish tree on a side table in the sitting room wedges between 2 sofas and the wall so Alice can admire from afar but get no where near to touching it. I am trying to persuade DH into putting it up this week end as I'm feeling so festive so may just have to put a piccie alongside the anti-alice reinforcement furniture on when I do Grin

I have a minute to myself as Alice has fallen asleep in her dinner again Shock . She hasn't been tired for a nap all afternoon and then as I was feeding her the eyes were closing.....and now she's face down in her high chair, bless. Don't want to move her to hre cot as she's all messy so she can stay there while I get on with some chores mning Wink

Deliaskis · 30/11/2011 17:58

Sorry but LOL at Alice asleep face down in her high chair! Bless. Mum often tells me (and anyone who will listen) the story of when I fell asleep in my high chair with a biscuit half in my mouth.

D

wigglesrock · 30/11/2011 18:34

Well we had a lovely day in "big" town, went to the Continental market, split a massive hotdog with Anna and Olivia, Sofia stuck to the chocolate Santas Grin, the girls had their long awaited ride on the old fashioned Carousel and we even made it home before the wild wind and rain started Shock

deliaskis Olivia never crawled, not one bit, she shuffled around and was walking by the time she was 1, Sofia crawled a little but didn't get up on her feet at all until she was 14 months - I think I have been amazed by Anna crawling because I wasn't used to it Grin

jane yes Mr W will be the big 40 just before Christmas, so this is our his birthday present to himself Grin

Not sure what we are going to do re the Christmas tree, just cross our fingers and hope for the best, with the other two they were more interested in ripping open the presents underneath the tree, none of which were for them!!

debka · 30/11/2011 20:04

Evening laydeeeez

OK treated myself to some new trews from New Look, DH said 'about bloody time' so perhaps they are getting a bit ridiculous Grin jane you may be right about the boobs Hmm

wiggles glad you had a nice day with the girlies :)

reastie Imy was this age at Christmas 2 years ago and we had a big glittery tree and everything survived. Definitely getting one this year too. How cute, face down in highchair, neither of mine ever did anything like that, although Imy once fell asleep in the car with a chocolate biscuit half way to her mouth! Bet you feel bloody brilliant having had a full night Envy

delia not a problem at all I'd say.

Emski76 · 30/11/2011 20:20

Delia, Ben never crawled, rolled or moved until he was 10 months old, he was happy to sit and have all his toys surrounding him. We were shocked when Noah crawled at 6 months and thought he was a genius until I discovered loads of the babies on our thread were doing it! I think some babies are happy to sit and watch the world go by!

Reastie, we are lucky enough to have a lovely big space under the stairs outside our bedroom and living room so the tree goes there and we have a gate on the living room door. We've just put up our tree and decs with Ben, it was magical watching Ben choosing where my many tacky decs should go!
Did you get a photo of Alice sleep in her highchair?

Deb, bloody well done on the weight loss, incredible. You deserve to treat yourself to some new trousers, and a whole new wardrobe!

Hope your all ok, just waiting for dh to come back with McDonalds, naughty but nice

ILovePonyo · 30/11/2011 21:39

Hi all, as usual I have been lurking but not had time to post, boo.

Work last night was fine, I've always liked bar work but didn't get home til 1am Shock so don't think I'll be able to cope with that every week. I got A up at 7, dressed and bottle then dropped her at nursery and went back to bed til 11, brilliant! Think I'd be able to cope with a 2nd job no problem if I could do that every day after Grin

In other news, A can clap! Yay, although she seems to clap at any occasion including when she dropped a book on her head earlier Hmm Grin Nursery really seems to suit her and she sleeps so well on the nights when she has been there in the day, we'll see how she does the rest of the week...

Anyway enough about me, reastie that is so funny about falling asleep in her food, hope you took a photo :) Oh and well done A (and you) with the massive sleep - makes such a difference doesn't it.

deb am I right in thining you have lost 2 stone on SW?! Amazing, and very inspirational. I should join up but am put off by the thought of no bread :(

Borg we don't bother with xmas decs at our house, but am going to my mums and she has already decided just to get a mini xmas tree to go on a table, I know that shiny wobbly xmas tree is not the best idea with A crawling about Hmm

Speaking of which delia I agree with what others have said - don't worry about C not crawling and make the most of it! A has only just this week started to sit up on her own and still toppled over sometimes, she has been crawling for much longer than she can sit so all babies are different etc. Oh and A is no where near pulling herself to standing up yet.

Hi everyone else, we have th pil coming tomo so will report back with anything interesting Grin

WeAreBorg · 30/11/2011 22:18

Thanks re tree suggestions, jane I think the barricading route might be a good one for us.

ponyo Can't believe you can organise yourself and A and do 2 jobs, amazing. Yay for clapping, very cute that she did it after dropping a book on her head!

reastie please get a piccie of Alice next time she does that, it made me smile. N would never do that, he just cannot give into sleep.

debka look at you new trews

delia many babies that I know in RL aren't crawling yet, I was amazed by the early crawlers on this thread. N could only go backwards for about 200 years, he just couldn't get the hang of it. I never crawled at all and I am pretty much a genius Wink

Well my son is awake and playing, and I want to sleep. I alternate to feeling quite zen about his crap sleep, but at the moment I am really fed up of him. I think his top teeth are bothering him to be fair but it's still really antisocial.

wigglesrock · 30/11/2011 22:28

WeAreBorg [sending a big hug and Brew ] Anna barely slept last night, I'm usually a bit "whatever" about her sleeping because she is still a better sleeper than Olivia Shock but last night or should I say 2am this morning I was so fed up, her teeth are also coming through but seriously I mean no-one has ever had worse toothache than me this week Grin and you don't hear me screaming the house down and mock crying (yes there were no real tears) at ungodly hours.

With you in spirit and also in reality Grin xx
