Oh, and something I have been pondering on since having dp home, esp for you ladies who had a c section - he can barely do anything and can't even hold dd, I remember being in loads of pain after giving birth but having to do stuff - how bad is it with a c section to deal with too?!

reastie · 20/11/2011 18:22

I had an update from my friend who had her baby on friday - apparently when they got to the hosp she knew she was in established labour (it's her second) but the mws shrugged her off and sent her to the waiting too. They then examined her and told her she was only 3 cm and in early labour - she had the baby 10 mins later Shock . No time for any g&a or the epidural she had planned Confused

nurseponyo I had a csection. I'm sure for different people they recovered at different speeds so maybe some were doing alot more than me alot quicker but I certainly didn't pick Alice up from her basket or wherever for I think at least a week if not 2. I know I started lifting her up earlier than they told me too. I also could barely sit up and get out of bed for a fair few days - it would take me ages with alot of oww and eeee ing to sit up. There would have been no way I could sit up or stand up holding her for a while and I remember I couldn't carry her up the stairs for a week or so too great excuse to get everyone else to change her nappy for me . I don't remember thinking it was that bad at the time though and can't complain. I have nothing to compare it to also. I know some people do that kind of thing straight away, but I try to tell myself they are more likely to have a scar taking longer to heal and highr chance of infection .

american glad you had a nice time even if you did get woken alot at night

Be back later.

reastie · 20/11/2011 18:23

waiting room not waiting too Hmm

hubbard86 · 20/11/2011 18:39

i had csec ponyo. I think i recovered very quickly as 3 days after op i carried freya in her carseat back into hospital along with my suitcase when we were readmitted. We were back at playgroups ten days post op. I think the only stuff i didn't do was reach stuff out of top shelves in kitchen, carry her upstairs and hoover. Everything else was pretty much normal

janedoe25 · 20/11/2011 18:44

I am now Mrs B! Grin

Thank you all for the well wishes. We both had the most amazing day ever and the sun was out! reastie dj was pre warned no grease, abba or sloshing Grin. first day of married life is being spent with a hangover bleurgh! We are going away tomorrow for a few days stay at a posh hotel, so I will de-brief the day and upload pics later in the week.

Hope you are all ok and give the babies a hug from me!

janedoe25 · 20/11/2011 21:34

I have added a pic to my profile Grin.

wigglesrock · 20/11/2011 22:19

MrsB/ birthday girl /jane oh its gorgeous, wiping away a little tear, everything looks so lovely especially you Grin

Anna was in foul form for a few days at the beginning of the week, but she got a new tooth and she has been an absolute dote this weekend, all smiles, crawling over, mammaing etc. She has discovered the girls dolls prams this weekend and has been manically pushing Olivias one about albeit in one direction, laughing at herself all pleased.

Work has been a bit pants this weekend, busy and I'm no mood for it Grin, have got emergency appt with dentist tomorrow afternoon so hopefully that will get sorted out. Two houses in my street have got their Christmas trees up Shock

Grannyapple · 20/11/2011 22:25

jane HUGE congrats!!! You look absolutely beautiful & dh looks v handsome in his kilt! Hope you're still hungover Grin always the sign of a good wedding!

Thx for asking after N everyone..he's now much better, although he appears to be waking twice in the night...grr. Also think he's allergic to penicillin hence return visit to emdoc last week...he would start jerking lightly (like the ones you get when falling asleep, but he was awake!), start to shiver & then be sick. Doc seemed to think it wasn't a reaction but it happened after each time he took it so got erythromycin (sp?)....doc nearly felt the wrath of my Scottish fury that night..dh had to diplomatically steer the convo Hmm. So back to nursery & work in the office tomorrow.

Night all x.

hubbard86 · 20/11/2011 22:25

you looked stunning jane. Congrats again. I have updated a couple of photos

wigglesrock · 20/11/2011 22:35

hubbard they are gorgeous photos. Tom is so yummy and his hair aahh, you could just eat him Grin Also Envy at Freyas hat.

grannyapple glad N is on the mend, Drs can be really weird when they think a Mum knows her child best Hmm Grin

Have to go to bed now, off to my good warm work in the morning [eyeroll].

hubbard86 · 20/11/2011 23:15

you wouldn't think he had no hair till he was 18months old. He starts nursery a week tomorrow, can't believe he's 3 on wed. Dh keeps on at me to cut his hair but i'm really loathed too, as i love his curls and worry he'll loose them if chopped off. I've said i'll trim it before reception (2yrs time) unless he gets nits then i'll trim it sooner. Hopefully by that time freya will have hair so i can play with hers instead.
Freyas hat is 0-3 months and she's only just fitting into it now. She's so petite.

Grannyapple · 21/11/2011 08:29

hubbard gorgeous pics...love tom's curls & Freya is just too cute!

Four4me · 21/11/2011 09:36

Quick good morning off to Singamajigs with Imogen and Archie. Loving the photos Jane and hubbard . So pleased you had a great day Jane you deserve it. And Tom and Freya are scrummy.

All good here, Archie is pulling himself up now and has had some crashes!! Went to my friends baby's christening yesterday. Hattie was a super star. She was a loooooonnnnng awaited arrival so made it even more super special day. Although Imogen totally overdosed on Fruitshoot (very unmnty) and had a dreadful screaming fit in the night which is not like her, so a bit sleepy here this morning.

Catch up properly later x

MizK · 21/11/2011 10:09

Ooooh Jane your wedding looks beautiful! Can't wait to hear all about it in detail.....

Can only say a quick hello as have a poorly baby today, so v tired. She is so wheezy and gunked up, my mum said she sounds almost as though she has croup, she just wants to be cuddled and loved or sleep all the time. Very unlike her :( but I love the cuddling part obv.
granny glad N is feeling better, the reaction to the meds sounds scary.
wiggles good luck at dentists.....
Right better get things sorted whilst C is napping.

Grannyapple · 21/11/2011 10:19

Ooh mizk that's exactly what Nate was like last Monday..I too was convinced it was croup.

reastie · 21/11/2011 11:11

Morning everyone,

granny glad N is finally on the med
mizk hope she improves soon - how nasty (except the cuddles Wink )
wiggles hope the dentist trip goes OK and I was Shock at christmas trees up already. I'm a christmas nutcase but I wouldn't have my tree up already. I am, however, 3/4 way through my present wrapping [proud] . I used to be renowned for beautifully and carefully wrapped christmas gifts with lovely ribbons/everything coordinating etc but this year it's just been shove everything in bages. Btw we have ordered fringe season 2 we enjoyed it so much Grin
jane photos are lovely - you look stunning and that dress is beautiful. Enjoy your stay at the posh hotel Wink Envy .
hubbard I too am Envy of freyas hat - that colour really suits her

Just put on in the midnight garden for the first time for Alice - it's actually keeping her quiet Grin

Well Alice is still teething (I think that's what it is) and I feel shattered. I'm bfeeding all the time to settle her and she is off her solids a bit too. So I've gone up from 3 feeds a day to munches throughout the day in addition to the usual feeds and I give her. I think it's taking it's toll on me as my body is just so tired and I've mucked up my ffs diet as have been having to eat alot more than usual. Also, I couldn't sleep last night and kept feeling all nervy and shaky and as if I was going to have a panic attack Shock . I wonder if it's just everything getting on top of me with alice being so needy and also how Angry I felt with PIL

reastie · 21/11/2011 11:12

granny i mean on the mend not on the med Blush

Emski76 · 21/11/2011 12:52

jane, congrats on becoming Mrs B, you look bbeeeeeeeautiful!!

All these poorly babies, heres wishing they all get well soon.

I've been poorly since last Tuesday with, I believe, stomach flu, not ill enough to stay at home but still pretty rough, now Noah seems to have it and has been sick a fair bit, all down and inside my pyjama top last night and over the living room carpet, wall and stair gate this morning. He is fine in himself so I have been naughty today and sent him to nursery anyway, I can't afford to have the time off work already. Hoping he's ok today, i did feel guilty when I left him there this morning.

Reastie, the shaking and anxiety you describe is exactly what i had when Noah was first born, I had it for a good few months, even when I was out i could feel it. It went after I'd been taken the ad's for about 8 weeks. What date are you seeing the HV, I think you really need to start on the ad's soon, but remember symptoms can get worse before they get better.

Best get back to work....booooooooooooo

ledkr · 21/11/2011 12:54

Ello ello. My tinternet has been on the blink so no posting sorry.

Big congrats jane what a stunning dress.Cant wait to hear about it all.

ponyo I have had 4 sections and they were all different but i dont think its afair comparison to be fair. A kidney op would be very painfull i'd imagine and also he is a bloke so its all worse Grin

Dills is doing well and not in too much discomfort. I took her to baby group today and they were all amazed at he quick recovery.

She is still needing her calpol and brufen but on thw whole doing really well and eating small amounts. She was smacking her lips at her yogurt yesterday we think it all must feel very strange to her.
Unfortunately she is stil waking at least once in the night and then very early,im knackered and will be embarking on some medised controlled crying as soon as she is well enough.

ponyo We watched paranormal 3 last week and when i was up seeing to my wakefull baby i got all freaked out and paranoid that a ghost was going to get me Grin

Deliaskis · 21/11/2011 13:25

Oh dear just reading about poorly babies, and smirking as that was the exact reason I came on here - to moan that C is poorly again! Nursery just rang and said someone has to go and get her as she has had three runny nappies Sad. I feel sad & bad for being at work again, but I know it's just a fact of life and we'll all have to get on with it. I hope she's not too bad tho, last time was nearly two weeks of D&V, here's hoping it's not that long again.

Not caught up on everything, but in no particular order...

EmSki sorry for poorly Noah and I too dumped C in nursery this morning knowing full well she probably shouldn't have been there, sometimes you just have to chance it and see what happens. Sorry you've been ill as well, it makes it all so much harder.

Ledkr soooooo pleased Dilly is doing well, have been thinking about you.

jane congrats on your wedding, glad you had a lovely time, the photo is lovely and you look gorgeous and happy.

Thanks for replies all about car seats, we're still mulling it over at the moment, C isn't 9kg yet so certainly no hurry, but I like to have a plan!

Have a nice day all, hope babies get better quickly.

D

Four4me · 21/11/2011 13:43

Boo to all the poorly little ones, hope they are all on the mend soon. Well done super star Dilly .

Have updated my photos for you to have a noisy at some taken at my sil wedding.

ledkr · 21/11/2011 18:16

Wow. Dilly is saying Ella as clear as a bell. She crawls about after her shouting it and said it when Els came in from school too, arms outstretched, sad mournfull look on face Grin

ManCrushedToDeathByALift · 21/11/2011 19:05

ledkr genius baby Grin S says Mummy (maybe), Jack (also maybe) and has started doing a nazi salute waving too at last.

Poor poorly babies. My 2 have chesty coughs and are hoarse when they cry (so sweet!).

jane hoorah hooray, thanks for the photo, you look lovely next one a close up please though

reastie the a-ds will help more if you take them :)

Quote of the day from Imy (at teatime): Mummy (sob) I can't eat those green bits (spinach) (sob), they make me ow-y inside (sob) Grin

Tarlia · 21/11/2011 20:07

Many congratulations toJane! You looked beautiful. How does it feel? :)

Glad to hear Dilly and MrPonyo are on the mend.

Sounds like there are lots of teething and babies with colds and emski, hope all are feeling better soon. We have it too and I have a cough that just comes at night grr.

reastie I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad, sounds like anxiety attack - could you go see your Dr again and discuss the pills and how you feel about them? Bloody inlaws.

44me and granny Lovely photos! granny I'd not chop his hair either, its gorgeous.

So impressed at the talking baby girls, S and D!

I'm so sorry, do not have the energy for individual replies right now, but thought I'd let you know the out come of the second Drs trip, she did some screening test and decided that I did need pills. I've taken the first one today after thinking about it over the weekend, but still uneasy due to breastfeeding. She did ensure me that the dose was low enough and a safe type, but still. I just can't help keep thinking that this wouldn't be happening without the inlaws antics :(

Emski76 · 21/11/2011 20:14

Tarlia, you have been so brave to see the doctor, and start taking the pills. Within a few weeks you will hopefully feel better and wonder how you ever felt so bad. Big hugs.
am very impressed with the talking girls. The most Noah does is grunt if I ask him a question!!
