Ledkr, it's so god to hear from you and I'm amazed at how well D has done. You must be so relieved and proud! Big love and hugs to you

tadjennyp · 17/11/2011 17:53

Fantastic news ledkr (do you need an extra d in your name now? Grin Dilly is a little star!

Hubbard - I'm so sorry you are being given the runaround. I hope you get it sorted really soon for you and Freya.

How exciting Jane!

Glad you had a great night wiggles and cleared up any misconceptions for your Mum!

Sorry about your visa American. Can you not extend it at all? Our L1B visa could only last for five years so we had to go for the green card for the flexibility as much as anything else. Hope dh has a great interview in VA.

Not being unreasonable MizK.

Hope S gets better soon mancrushed. S's nose is still running like there's no tomorrow and now he's turning on the Wii! Just got back from 'Muffins with Moms' at A's school. She was v excited about that!

reastie · 17/11/2011 17:59

ledkr glad to hear Dilly is doing so well - must be such a relief for you now it's over. Sounds like your hospital experience was so much more positive than when you had to go in with her when she was a few days old which is great Grin

ILovePonyo · 17/11/2011 19:42

Hi all, well Mr Ponyo is in hospital another night, went to visit him today and he is up and about, plus generally less drugged up! He might be in tomo night too but will find out tomo. A was very squirmy when we went but pleased to see him :)

ledkr so good to hear from you, well done Dilly!! What a brave girl, you must be so proud (and hopefully not too tired). Good luck for tonight, hope she suprises you :)

jane eek! How exciting, you get two wedding too Wink Oh and Grin and "do the deed"

MizK Hmm at nurse Grin YANBU about grabby baby, I've not experienced that yet so don't know if I would say anything or not, why are some parents so unaware?!

hubbard have a hug from me - how frustrating for you and bloody incompetant of them, can you put in a complaint or is that just more work for you? Just hope things get sorted v soon.

Better go as am making curry - oh tonight dd had some (reastie look away now) MacD's chips for her tea. It is prob the only time she has sat in her high chair and shoved all the food in her mouth without crying Hmm I gave her cucumber and tomato but she chucked that on the floor of course Hmm She'd be great at BLW if it just involved chips Grin

40Weeks · 17/11/2011 20:00

Glad ledkr and dilly are ok, she sounds such a little star you must be so relieved. Hope she sleeps well tonight.

Hey ponyo glad dh is ok, will he deffo be home tomorrow? Fingers crossed

Well done reastie on the 2lb off, I lost 1.5 this week and am well chuffed. Pats on the back all round.

Good luck tomorrow Jane so excited for you, how romantic it all sounds. Have a fab weekend, I bet you'll look stunning. Please post pics won't you?

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't commented on all the posts, can't seem to find the time these days, I hope you're all ok, where's needto she ok??

What's this about ladyboys wiggles???

janedoe25 · 17/11/2011 20:29

Just having a wee lurk, ledkr What a little star, I'm sat here grinning from ear to ear and proud of Dilly!

Just had to say that. Im off now, to enjoy my last night of singledom! Hope you are all good and I will update a some point over the weekend if I can. Grin

Grannyapple · 17/11/2011 22:06

Hi ladies...well done dilly..what a wee star [grun]. All the best jane for the weddings & weekend if celebrations!

Well Nate hasn't been great..had to take him back to emdoc last night as his temp shot up to 40.1 & the penicillin they prescribed just wasn't staying down (each time he was sick it had brown streaks in it, but doc wasn't that bothered about it when I mentioned it Hmm). Anyway he finally seems to have perked up tonight but was worrying seeing him so listless & sleep so much (only slept on either of us too, which was great...not!). Hoping for a better night tonight & no waking every 2 hours, the wee soul.

wigglesrock · 17/11/2011 22:55

Just in from work, was just checking to see if any word from ledkr - well done Dilly and of course her amazing Mum and lovely Dad Grin

jane have the best weekend imaginable and enjoy tomorrow as well, its yours and soon to be dhs special secret wedding day Grin, all our love from the Wiggles house.

hubbard and grannyapple xxx

Must go, cream crackered and am in work until Monday.

reastie · 18/11/2011 08:24

Morning all, am currently chained to my bed with a poorly baby sleeping on it for the past 2 hours. I'm scared to move her incase she wakes up and I'm scared to leave her incase she rolls/crawls off Confused

Just had great news from a friend - she's had a little boy this morning 2 weeks early. We were due to go to her baby sign class (she's still working running the class) but I guess that'll be off now Hmm . Mucho respect to her too - she was doing a class just before she went in to labour Grin

granny hope N feels better soon

MRSjane hope the ceremony today goes well. SO excited for you and DF

40 are you feeling better now?

ponyo glad mrp is doing well and Hmm Grin to the maccy d's .

I forgot to say mizk YANBU at all - I would be the same.

Deliaskis · 18/11/2011 09:02

Morning ladies,

Been away for a couple of days (one overnight), so not been on, but back now and just popped on to say hooray for brave Dilly and her op, so pleased it went well and she seems in good spirits.

And I know you won't be mning now jane but lots of happy thoughts for your big day, so excited for you two, hope the day goes well.

Dx

Emski76 · 18/11/2011 09:37

Have a great day Jane, bet your ssooooooooo excited right now!

Was it your birthday this week Delia? Where did you and dh go?

Reastie, sorry A is poorly, how frustrating to be stuck on the bed with her! Try to relax and nap with her. I really miss my naps with Noah. Congrats to your friend!

Gosh, Granny, Nate has been so poorly, hasnt he? Fingers crossed he's turned a corner now.

Ponyo, Noah is yet to have a Mac D's but for tea Ben and i had pizza and chips and Noah did eat a fair bit. It was lovely watching him feed himself bits of pizza crust!

We're off to meet a friend at a soft play place later this morning and hopefully dh will be home early as he went into work at 4am!

Have a good day all

Deliaskis · 18/11/2011 09:45

Emski yes on Wednesday. We just went away to Chatsworth in the Peak District (it's really not far from here), for an overnight on Wednesday, C stayed with her Nanna. We could have had her with us in the daytime, but then we stayed over at a gastro pub with rooms kind of place and wouldn't have been able to have a posh nosh with her! So we had a looooooong sleep, and lazy breakfast, lovely!

Dx

reastie · 18/11/2011 09:57

delia your birthday stay sounds wonderful. It's easy to please us isn't it - nice uninterrupted long bath and a lie in and I'd be close to heaven Wink

I'm Grin at alice as she's been pulling herself up in her cage and somehow has managed to completely pull off her trousers Hmm

Question for people. This may have been asked months ago when the babies were newborns I'm not sure. DH and I are wondering if Alice will get cold in the night in winter (our house is v draughty). We put her in LS vest and LS gro and a 2.5 tog grobag. I think her body would be OK but her arms only have 2 layers of thinish cotton. Is this standard or do people use jumpers or cardigans as an added layer under the gro bag or maybe do people use a fleecy of warm lined babygro under the gro bag? [clueless]

ems enjoy the soft play

Emski76 · 18/11/2011 10:05

Reastie, our house is quite warm so I put Noah in pyjamas and his 2.5 tog grobag. You don't want her to overheat so maybe a vest, warm sleep suit and grobag. Maybe a blanket over the top that can be removed if she's too warm?

Am loving Alice's 'cage'! We call Noah's play pen the pig pen sometimes cos he'll squash his face against the side of it and his face looks all piggy like!

reastie · 18/11/2011 10:45

ems Grin to noah in his pig pen. Re: 'warm sleepsuit' - is that a fleece sleepsuit?

hubbard86 · 18/11/2011 11:55

sorry for that post yesterday. I was having a bit of a wobble probably down to hormones and lack of sleep. I have finally managed to speak to the consultants office and he's got all the urgent referrels but needs to confirm an appt date in the middle of dec. So i have another 3 weeks to wait for a definitive answer.

Jane yay for today.
Reastie is alice feeling better? Our house is also cold we just put another blanket on freya
Ledkr well done you and dilly and dh. You were all amazingly strong.
Delia happy belated birthday
Granny i really do hope nate starts to get better soon.
Emski have fun at soft play.

ledkr · 18/11/2011 12:02

We all slept really well thanks. D slept 8-4 then 5-7 so not bad.Me and dh were asleep by 9 so we are all feeling good today Grin She is fine,a bit raspy cos the swelling is bad on day 3 but shes unbothered and hardly needs her pain relief. Food is tricky cos soft diet but she had some beef stew last night and likes yogurt too.

D sleeps in ls vest and gro and a 2.5 tog bag but i also have an oil filled heater which i leave on low if its really cold.

jane hope it all goes really well.My first marriage was like yours, registry office on the Wed with 2 mates and a few pints after then the blessing in the church on the saturday. We used to give a nod to both dates but tbh he was never one for cards and gifts. On mothers day the ow was moaning on face book about no cards whilst i was sat in bed with breakkie and diamond earings

Id quite like a play pen,Dilly had a metal cot in hospital and loved it,onlt thing was she kept banging her head on it.

Just having a lazy day today giving Dilly some love-not cuddles just playing with her garage and cars Grin shes back to her no cuddle self and just wants to be busy and sort out the world.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 18/11/2011 12:25

Hello all!

ledkr huge congratulations to dilly and you for this week, it sounds like she is just like her mum (right, that's me sorted, now to sort out the rest of the world!)Smile I hope things continue to go well, how long is she on a soft diet for?

Jane next time I hear from you you'll be all married, brings a little tear to my eye but in the best way possible Grin lots of good luck wishes to you x

Well, I have a few minutes before DM brings b back from their shopping trip and wanted to let you all know that oh has been sober for 16 days now and it is slowly getting better. He was SO moody for a almost 2 weeks but seems to have calmed down now. He's still waiting for the counsellor to call but he has told all his family and friends that he is an alcoholic and I think that is a huge step. I am having a mad clean whilst b is out and am dying my hair to make myself feel a bit more normal (was a birds nest Hmm), will have to read everything over the weekend when I have a bit more time...

Love to all x

WeAreBorg · 18/11/2011 12:33

ledkr so pleased D is okay, sounds like she has forgotten all the excitement now, bless her.

granny oh poor little N, sounds nasty for him, hope you are all doing okay

reastie N sleeps next to an amazing temperature regulating device which means he is always at body temp. It's great, I have the only two though I'm afraid. They sometimes leak too.

hubbard that sounds like a long time to wait, I couldn't bear it, I'd be thinking about it all the time too, please don't apologise.

wiggles I am at work all weekend too. Seems less rubbish now I don't actually go out anymore

Jane's getting married yay!!!!!!! I cannot wait to see your photos, too excited!!! Exclamation marks!!!!!

delia gastropub sounds gorgeous

ponyo glad DP is doing well and enjoying the drugs Grin. N only eats junk food and toast these days, I'm sure that's why he's so pasty and tiny. I'm pleased it's not just N that stares moodily at people, he also smiles at terrifying men usually hell's angels, he seems to think they are funny Hmm

For the first time since he was about 6 weeks old, N has fallen asleep in the car and stayed asleep when I brought him into the house! He's done 1/2 an hour so far, amazing!

ManCrushedToDeathByALift · 18/11/2011 13:14

needto that is brilliant news, DP being sober but mostly telling friends and family. That's a massive step IMO. Does he have a friend/counsellor/group for support? My dad has a friend he talks to about stuff.

borg massive Grin at leaking self regulating devices!

reastie if Alice is cold she'll let you know. Don't fret. Our house in Slovenia was bloody freezing and when Imy was this age she was in vest, babygrow and sleeping bag and although her hands were cold the rest of her was toasty.

ledkr so glad to hear all is well in your house. Good on Dilly recovering so well. I hope she sorts her sleep out as well. And btw lucky you with such a lovely considerate DH Envy Grin

jane thinking of you today :) There's a candle burning in the church for our Zoe too.

hubbard well done for your persistence. At least you know things are rolling now. xxx for Freya :)

delia your birthday sounds wonderful, lie in, no babies, brilliant!

Finally got down to the baby clinic and had S weighed- she's 17lb4 now and between 25th and 50th centiles which is higher than she was (2nd at one point). HV was lovely and reassuring, although she did say I ought to give her formula, not cow's milk, which I knew of course, but it's not something I've ever had in the house and I always forget when I go to the shops!

ledkr · 18/11/2011 13:30

Hi all thanks for the messages, she has just had a massive sleep and is now having a spot of lunch.

She is on a soft diet for 2 weeks, its not her favourite type of food. I am off to get her some vile cod cow and gate stuff later

My only critisism of the hospital is the offer of "cheese pasty or curry" following a cleft op didnt seem very appropriate Grin

I am ill. I have a horrible sinus pain and sore throat.Im sure my body has just gone bleurgh now the op is over.Thank god dh is off for a week.
Was it ponyo who recently had this? What is best for it?

ILovePonyo · 18/11/2011 14:01

Hi all just a quick one as dd currently snoozing in car seat but I'm sure she'll wake up in a minute. DP still staying in hospital another night, so don't know when he'll be home. He's ok but they need to keep an eye on fluid leaking (lovely Hmm) A has been crying all day (it feels like) don't know if there is something wromg with her, teething perhaps who knows. She was also awake at 1am for a bottle Confused then cried whenever I tried to put her back in the cot so slept on me for a bit.

ledkr sounds like D is on the mend, pleased for you all :) Don't think it was me who had sinus pain, I always recommend those night time cold and flu tablets though they usually sort me out.

jane many congrats and hope you are having a lovely time and a fab weekend too xx

Borg it took me a minute to figure out what N's self regulating heaters were! A always seems to smile at angry looking men too, hmm, I blame her dad Grin Junk food and toast sounds like my diet btw :)

needto well done dp, thats a massive step. Long may it last, fingers crossed for you.

reastie I am considering putting a blanket over A when it gets colder, right now she is in a vest, baby grow and 2.5tog grobag but doesn't feel super warm. I know you arent' meant to use blankets and grobags but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Better go, got to visit dp in a bit xx

ledkr · 18/11/2011 14:07

need to Thats great re dh. Chase up the support tho.

Feb ladies will be surprised to hear i have not had an alcoholic beverage for over 2 weeks.I have lost weight, feel better in myself and my tummy is gone down. I do not know who i am now after 30 years of being a party lush Grin

MizK · 18/11/2011 14:15

Aaw ponyo do you miss him? Hope he is home soon. Poor A booing away, lucky you eh?
reastie I reckon with the long sleeved vest, babygrow and 2.5 tog sleeping bag A will be warm enough, my house is pretty draughty also but as long as her room is at 18ish she should be OK. (Although I feel like 18 is freezing, but I know its apparently the magic temp for babies rooms....)
ledkr typical that you get sick now! Probably all the stress of the op running you down. At least DP can look after you and D too, get some hot soup and a fleecy blanket action going on. When I have sinus ishoos I switch the shower on super hot to steam up the bathroom then take a hot bath, the steam seems to help matters.
delia glad you had a nice birthday, sounds perfect!
needto fantastic that your DP is doing so well, I'm sure its not easy for you at the min so make sure you have support for you, lots of love xxx
borg and wiggles boo to working all weekend!
Took Cass for our friday coffee and cake with my best friend today and she was so cute, she was trying to feed her sandwiches to me and my friend, she's so kind :) Unfortunately she looked like a little neglected baby cause she has had a perma gunky nose all week! I alway swore I would never have one of those grubby, snotty children and yet here we are........

MizK · 18/11/2011 14:17

x-post with ledkr thats v impressive, I will not be relinquishing my Friday night glass of Merlot tho, don't have your iron will..... Don't get all skinny, sober and smug though please or you shall be issued with a Sophie la giraffe and shunted off to join the Yummies :)
