ha ponyo i too have bought sale stuff aged 2 Blush

deb i'm wondering how you can cook all that with bean around too. i can only cook when alice is sleeping (which is never as she s,eeps on me in the day), when dh comes home from work or ocassionally she will sit in her high chair for a few mins watching me. btw evenings still rubbish. we've given up forcing her in her cot. dh and i just go up to bed at 7pm (none of your dirty minds thank you) and she falls asleep in the middle of us and we are then stuck there all evening Hmm . she is usually in her cot by 10pm but takes at least 2 attempts. not a great set up but our life is easier for now. ach i'm really interested how mil will get her to sleep for her nap when she looks after alice on fri am Hmm

alice been sleeping on me for an hour, i'm bored, thirsty, in need of the loo and my arm hurts Shock wish she would blinking sleep on her own

Its so hard to do anything isnt it?Im finding that even worse cos of her moving now.Ella wants to go out on her bike but i am bribing her with food so that she amuses D and i can drink my tea. Dh phoned and said he will take over when he gets in,he never phones from work,i guess he is still feeling a prat.If you knew him you would realise just how unlike him it is to kick anything.I guess this baby lark is stressfull for all of us.
Enjoying the sw diest, have make a lush chunky fee soup which dilly also loves, and have eggs for breakie and make nice sw recipes for dinner, had spanish chicken and cous cous with dill last night yum.
deb that would be agood buffet filler-cous cous.
reastieIm a bit stuck with the day naps,up untill now Dilly has slept in the pram but is getting abit big and also isnt sleeping long cos i disturb her. I need to start the naps in the cot but not sure how to go about it.I watched the bw today on discovery and she does that pick up put down thing so i may try that and then i can use it when i decide she isnt a new born and needs night feeds Confused
The days seem to just roll into one and i get so little done,im actually looking forward to going back to work i think.

reastie that is grim grim grim, hope she grows out of it soon :(

I just sit S on the floor with a humungous box of toys which she slowly works her way through. Kitchen is off the living room (actually every room is off the LR!) so I can see her not that I look. There is no way I'd manage to get so much done if she slept on me, she is strictly a cot only girl. Imogen is the bigger problem, she likes to 'help'. so I have to watch her like a hawk in case she adds the rice I use for baking blind to the cake I'm mixing! Plus then there's the I'VE DONE A WEE MUMMY and I have to get the sticker, find the sweeties, have one myself, wipe her bum, empty the potty, wash hands.... by which time the onions have burnt on the bottom!

Of course it helps that I am a Cookery and Childcare Genius in the style of Tana Ramsey, only even more slim and beautiful and without the nobhead husband (mine is his own special brand of nob) Grin Wink

Oo hi ledkr xposted

It's finger buffet only, no forks so can't do couscous. Nice idea though!

V interested in yr SW, I am going to join the actual club meeting, i think in a few weeks (on a tues and we have a bbq next tues).

Hope i didn't sound smug and annoying [sheepish look] I get told off on here for being too cheerful sometimes Grin I have my moments too (actually you all know the cross I have to bear in my delightful DH)

ledkr we have the same thing re: using the pram. It's just a bit small for her an she's actually rolled over in it, plus the fact she is starting to pull herself up I'm too scared to leave her unattended in it. Tbh I just dont have the energy for anything at the min. I'm just hoping she gets better over time [insanely optimistic] . A friend of mine has had to put her dd (1yo) in her buggy and roll it on the spot over and over and over until her dd went to sleep ruining the carpet . I don't want to be doing that in 6 months Confused

deb wish that worked with alice - the kitchen is sort of small and enclosed (with a rock hard stone floor) so just about room for the high chair. Can't leave her next door as she crys whenever I leave [sigh]

Dilly is truly a pita today,i cannot wait untill dh comes in so i can hand her over, she keeps climbing into the fireplace now.

debka that's exactly what I do with Anna, not that I'm cooking but when I have something to do - washing, hanging up more washing, throwing sorting out the girls old toys, MNetting etc, A will just sit in the middle of the floor with Happyland toys, stacking cups or some wooden spoons for over 30 mins playing.

PS Knobby as your dh is, I think old Gordon would probably surpass him, he featured on the MN sleb gossip vine ages ago Wink.

Funny enough A will nap in her cot Shock, she'll also sleep in her carseat still etc

reastie didn't realise your mil was having Alice on Fri morning - waiting with baited breath Grin

you lot make it sound as if your babies are sat up properly,Dilly cant sit up without me behind her and if she did she would just push herself over cos wants to crawl about all the time. I move her from the high chair to the ring to the stander to the mat to the door bouncer, each thing lasts about 10 mins then the winging starts,i think its just my kids, they were all like it and even now Ella has to be occupied,i mean what normal kid doesnt watch tv?

Sounds like my kind of diet ledkr I do like my food!

Just been looking at that NetMums link you put up on the thread in chat, they are a bit pink and girly and annoying aren't they! And omg the spelling!!

S does sit up by herself, she can't crawl or roll over or do anything interesting though!

wiggles I agree, imagine being married to Gordon Ramsey, he is the uber twunt of all twunts, I can't stand him.

ledkr your day sounds like mine - moving from one thing to another to another Hmm . Alice can sit up on her own now quite well but I couldn't leave her without tons of pillows around her incase she face planted [pfb], but she most definitely can't crawl. I dumped her with dh when he was in the shower and he got in a stinker of a mood - like a 'how can i have a shower with her whinging in here?' type face Hmm . yeah, nice one Wink . Must check out this nm thread

dh came in a started tidying up! D was still in full whinge mode,i told him to sort her and leave everything else to me fgs.

I think Dilly bypassed sitting up in favour of crawling.
Pity she didnt bypass whinging and move straight onto talking Hmm

Hello, sounds like everyone is having a really busy day, especially with whingy babies. Ds1 has a temperature so is off school and S has it a bit too. Wow to all those cakes deb - are you being paid for this or is it for family does? I really must get more adventurous with cooking for S. I mean, he's not going to be content with toast and cucumber for long, is he? Btw, how much are Ella's pouches there? There just over a quid a throw here, no wonder the shopping bill has gone up! Grin Hoping tea and bath time is going well for everyone.

ledkr I saw that thread (the one linked you) this morning and thought the whole thread was a pisstake Grin I didn't actually realise it was serious until I went in again via your link - watch you don't get glittered to death.

debka although it makes me feel very old, its the spelling Grin, I can't get past it and I've actually been on another thread here in Education talking about not pushing children re spellings but all the zzzs instead of sss etc makes me want to itch my eyes Grin

tadjennyp think Ellas pouches are about the same here, although they are on offer on Asda at the minute. Hope E and S are on the mend.

Mr W is back, we now feel like we are on holidays although I got an e-mail from work this afternoon asking (!) me to do an extra 4 hours a week for the first 3 weeks I'm back Angry They are going to consider changing the hours in March next year, which would bring me up to 23 hours a week, not sure what to do, feel a bit blindsided.

Report
ledkr · 06/09/2011 19:23

OH WIGGS can they do that? I do 20 and thats enough for me,would it be doable? If you dont want to just say, dont be bamboozled,as if you would.

Evening all,

tad Ella's pouches are about a quid, a bit more if you get the ones with fish or meat. Although tbh I use them a lot, and the Hipp and Organix jars. I was doing lots of cooking and pureeing but when I worked out how much I was spending I figured the jars were much cheaper - £5 for ten at the moment.

ledkr Sorry to hear Dilly is a mardy bum today. R's not too bad but I know the feeling about being trapped in the living room too reastie I have started bunging her in the high chair while I potter about the dining room and kitchen. Although I do plonked her in front of CBeebies A LOT :) Oh and R does sit up - all day really except when she crawls off. She's not too good at getting back to sitting from crawling.

deb Good luck with the buffets. Throw some my way if youbhave leftovers!

ponyo I've only one so far as 18months but I don't blame you stocking up! I think sale buying is the way to do it with kids!

Right, better go as dinner is on. I've been doing a KIT day this afternoon - am angling for a better job so showing willing. I'm bloody exhausted after 3 hours so chicken risotto, beer and footy chez choco tonight! (I did get a massive carrier of chocolate too whch is a good bonus!)

ledkr I can do the extra hours in November and the pittance of extra money will be handy Grin, am not going to stress about March, not sure it'll happen and if push comes to shove I can get the girls minded, Mr W is off 2 weekends in 5/6 so it would be the odd weekend. Right refusing to think about it, head in sand is the way to go Grin

A shows no interest in the tv, but she loves the computer, we have lots of photos that come up as the screensaver and she chortles away when she sees one of Sofia and Olivia, it actually is really cute.

Evening, urgh ledkr I feel your pain re: whingy baby, don't know what was up with dd today, crying at everything (but still smiled at dp when he got home the little bugger). Thank god she went to bed no probs, am going to dream feed tho as she didn't have any of her last bottle. I also have a Wine I think I deserve it Grin

I think Ella's pouches can be good value, not apple for example but the mango one is cheaper and easier than buying a mango and pureeing it yourself, as I did and then dd didn't eat it anyway Hmm

choco sounds like you have a good night ahead of you, hope the kit day was alright.

Hello everyone else, am distracted watching the great british bake off so won't blabber on too much Grin

evening,

Not fully caught out this eve but just come on to moan that alice will not sleep. she simply will. not. sleep. Hmm . DH and I have tried EVERYTHING for the past 2 hours so I've given up and she's on her playmat. She looks quite happy at the min, just hope she doesn't go insanely over tired. ponyo Wine defo deserved. If I drank Wine I'd be on the second bottle by now Wink

choc are you angling for chief chocolate taster? Grin

re: ellas pouches. I'm getting fed up of spending all my lack of free time pureeing. I don't mind doing stuff I might have in anyway, it's mainly the meat and fish I'm getting annoyed with making, esp as she only turns her nose up at it and refuses to eat it (it wouldn't be so bad if she liked it). Think I might end out giving her the meat pouches instead of doing those from scratch Hmm
