Sorry Meglet if you wanted to start the thread with your title but I thought I'd best do it while there was still one space to post the link to this one on the last one.

marking my place.

I can't think of anything to say except my stomach is about to pop from scoffing the last of my home made tiramisu. Didn't want it to go off or get wasted you see Blush.

ninja · 24/01/2012 22:59

Well I finally started a proper log of interactions with the Twatbadger, I had a few notes, texts, e-mails all saved plus (mainly posts from here!) which I've finally put together.

It was lovely looking through some of the old threads and I realised there's been a lot happening in the last year for a lot of us. Lots of joy, sadness, births and deaths, achievements ......

Well done ninja for keeping a proper log, it will be to your benefit.
We're going to have to think of a new thread title soon aren't we....?
meg I lurve tiramisu!
debs I hope you get moved soon too!
I'm bed-ridden with the plague today. Terrible headache, throat like shards of glass, achy limbs, keep falling asleep and generally feel dreadful. Poor DH has had to take the day off to look after the DCs. It was really hard having DS2 brought to me for a bf then passing him back coz I feel too poorly to play with him.
Head pounding again, going to snooze watch something on iplayer.

Get well soon carrie!
Glad your log is taking shape ninja

So much for today meaning I escape the consultants... short version is I may have pre-eclampsia and may need inducing next week (37+1 !!! - technically full term but so much for a chilled-out birth.)
Aaaagh....

digitalgirl · 25/01/2012 19:52

Get well soon carrie sorry to hear you're poorly.

nc blimey! Are they keeping an eye on your blood pressure then to determine whether to induce or not?

Had my 28 week mw appointment today and all's looking well. Bump is measuring spot on. Hb found quickly on the doppler. Gtt result was normal. Mw asked if I'd considered homebirth or birthing centre! I'm hoping for birthing centre as much as I'd like to be in the comfort of my own home I want to be close to theatre in case anything goes wrong.

Can I ask re: bathing 2 dcs together? Can I put the newborn in with ds? Or should I be wary of sharing germs for the first few weeks?

Becaroooo · 25/01/2012 20:00

dg Always bathed my 2 together from start, although ds1 is now wanting showers

carrie Get well soon chick

ninja Good on you! The twatbadger wont know whats hit him! Smile

Toby is now dry day and night...seems to have done both at the same time Shock

Ds1 doing well too...now not constipated and not so much tummy pain and he has gone up 2 reading levels in 2 weeks!!!

Guys coming to fit new finials on the conservatory roof tomorrow...lets hope its works!!!

ninja · 25/01/2012 21:32

NC hope all's well - 37+1 is good though.

DG bathed mine together too - in fact both of them came in the bath and shower with me from the start Smile

Carrie hope you're feeling better soon

My cough is finally starting to go (touch wood) but it feels like I've been up every half hour or so having coughing fits for the last week (probabloy 'cos I have!)

DD1 is being really a lot better this week - I suspect just staying in one place (The Twatbadger is skiing with the girlfriend) is doing her the world of good. It's so nice not to have to ferry them to his and back.

Meglet · 25/01/2012 22:56

dg You can chuck them in together. I found it a bit tricky though TBH. Once DD was sitting up I used a bath seat, was much more fun!

carrie Get well soon. So nice to know your DH was able (and willing) to stay at home today.

nc 37 weeks is cooked. DS was EMCS at 37 wks and fine. Very blue for a minute but everything else was fine.

I'm having my endoscopy tomorrow (hence the finishing off of the tiramisu last night). Can't have any more food or drink until tomorrow afternoon now . I can do the school and nursery run first which is nice though, I hate doing it on normal work days as it's such a rush.

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/01/2012 23:47

Hi all. Got scan tomorrow but meanies won't tell the sex.

Ds did trial at new school. Not sure they'll accept him, and if so not sure they'll accept our terms but he loved it there. Apparently they spent the morning trying and failing to revive a dead starfish Confused. it's true. The teacher confirmed it.

notcitrus · 26/01/2012 12:26

digi - monitoring blood pressure - technically mine is higher than it has been, but it's still mid-normal, just last three times it's been low (85/60), so 100/70 looks 'high'.
It's the protein in urine going up to ++ with 3 previous + that's concerning them, esp if you look at my history of vomiting and pain (almost certainly not related, but...) So I was given the option of being admitted for 24 hours to be attached to a catheter, or alternatively be given a nice-shaped jug and leakproof jerrycan if I promised to return it full of 24-hours worth by 6pm today. I went for the latter!

Pelvis is getting increasingly unhappy (baby is 1-3/5 engaged, MW didn't want to press too hard if she didn't have to), so may get a wheelchair again if I'm not giving birth soon.

So wouldn't be sad to give birth next week, just need to get my head round it. Though A was born day before his due date and that was still a shock! Suspect acquiring another baby is going to be a shock no matter what!

CappuccinoCarrie · 26/01/2012 13:46

Eeeek so excited for you NC!
I started feeling better late afternoon yesterday, and today although I have the snot and sore throat, the achy limbs are no more which is a relief. Poor DH is behind on his work now and went in early this morning (computer programmer so has clients who Expect Things) but we didn't have any other choice - I couldn't move and we have no family within a 5 hour drive.
DD is having her first after school play and tea date at a friend's house which means I'm spared the school run, what a relief when I'm feeling under the weather. I'm taking DS for tea at asda so I don't have to cook Grin.
star that sounds positive about the school...here's being hopeful!
meg your stomach looks gorgeously flat, give us a twirl! Hope the endoscopy is bearable.
ninja glad DD1 is enjoying being more settled.
We took DD to the walk in centre on sunday as she clearly had another uti, and got her some antibiotics. Today (on the walk-in centre's instructions) we went to our GP to get more abs as they only gave 3 days worth at the walk-in. About 3 hrs later I got a call from our GP practice "the urine sample your DD gave at A&E at the weekend shows sign of infection". Er....yeeeeees. Confused
That said, in the last week we've enjoyed the services of the dentist, walk-in, GP, and health visitor, all for free, so I'm proper impressed with the NHS, and better three prescriptions than none!

Becaroooo · 26/01/2012 14:01

Good luck Meg and Star

Ohhhhh NC...how exciting! Grin

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 26/01/2012 14:08

Good luck for today Meglet

I hope your blood pressure behaves itself NC, I can't believe that you are term already. How exciting Smile

Hopefully you'll be able to have a peak during the scan Starlight Grin

Are the UTI's linked to dd's continence issues Carrie? Glad you're feeling better. Looking after kids when you feel ill is 'orrible.

Yes bath them together Digi. DH gets in the bath with both of the boys and always has done since day one. I've always had peeling/scaly babies so they had daily baths to get the flaky skin off

I'm glad you're enjoying this week Ninja and I'm glad you are getting somewhere with the twatbadger Grin

Nothing much to report here really. M is loving pre school and is now doing 3 mornings a week and stays once for lunch club. I can see that peer pressure is working already. He came home asking for sandwiches next time he goes to lunch club. He has NEVER liked sandwiches, nevermind asked for them. Ah well, we will see tomorrow whether they get eaten!

Baby I will be 9 months old tomorrow. I really don't know where the time has gone. He'll be one before we know it. His night time sleeping is still up and down. Sometimes great, sometimes shite. He's quite a sensitive little soul and he finds teething painful - hence him waking up every hour and a half the other night

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 26/01/2012 19:51

Wow - good luck nc Hope the urine comes back ok. During DS's epic labour I got ++ in my wee but they did a blood test and it was just a side effect of labour and not pre-e. Having gone 2 weeks overdue, I think I'd rather go early - a baby will hit you whenever it comes!

digi yes bathing together is fine, though needs 2 pairs of hands ime. DD likes lovely deep baths, and we don't have a floaty bath thing for DS so when they bath together, she has to have a shallow bath or I get in with them both and holds DS. Newborns are very slippery!

carrie hope you are feeling better. I must admit, I'll take dd to Morrisons one night next week for tea as DP is away Mon-Thurs in Amsterdam

Good luck for the scan star and hope DS gets in.

Things slowly getting better here, though we have hit a brick wall woith the IM. She's not got our letter, despite it being carded by royal mail. The only address we have is one from her website and DP suspects its a po box. How do you sue someone without an address?!
And I have to confess, I love DS but sometimes look at him and wish he was DD as a baby. Is that just barmy?

Kagey · 26/01/2012 20:28

Fingers crossed NC and best wishes!

I was too nervous bathing dds together, mainly as dd2 was wriggly in the bath. Once she was a bit older (around 3 month Mark) I felt confident to bath them together. They love it now!

ILTM my little baby is 10 months tomorrow and time has flown Smile. She is a cheeky little one and cute as a button.

Becaroooo · 27/01/2012 08:46

mrsa Its is hard when one baby is "good" (for want of a better word) and one isnt so much....ds1, well, least said Sad and ds2 was sleeping well from 9 weeks....its not odd to wish you were getting more sleep!!!

Meglet · 27/01/2012 10:49

good morning all! I survived my endopscopy. I have to say that despite being drugged up and having a throat numbing spray I was still aware of them putting the camera down my throat and burping all the air back up . But I got to have a nice kip afterwards so it wasn't all bad. The results show I have excess bile in my stomach, which has suprised me as I don't get too many (or any really) problems with indigestion. I need to do some googling and see my GP for some medicine for it.

star What I want to know is how on earth do you know when a starfish needs reviving, they're not the most active of creatures are they. This has been puzzling me more than it should Confused.

carrie yes, the NHS is amazing when it works. Hope your DD is on the mend now.

CappuccinoCarrie · 27/01/2012 12:13

ILTMIMI yes its due to her 'dysfunctional voiding' ie not fully emptying bladder or withholding for too long, so the bugs fester and grow. To add to how impressed I already am at the NHS, I had a call from the school nurse yesterday to say they'd received my form in which I'd mentioned DD's problems (every child gets a form to fill in) and since I was already under paediatrics at the hosp the school wouldn't do anything as I'm already further up the system iyswim, but it was just a courtesy call so that I knew we weren't being ignored. Excellent service! Our appointment at the enuresis clinic is at the end of Feb.
HV is coming round at 2 this afternoon to see DS1's excema, which is of course looking better today than it has for months so we prob won't get prescribed the hydrocortizone that he needs. Gah.
meg glad its all over for you and you had a nice nap!
MrsA every night as I feed DS2 I find it hard not to feel cross that DS1 had been sleeping through reliably for weeks by this point. Enjoy your morrisons tea! I thought my asda tea was a fun date with DS1, he ate nicely, there were no screaming hab dabs at home as I didn't have to abandon them while I cooked, and no clearing up afterwards. Sometimes survival and sanity are the most important things, so eat out and enjoy!
KG 10months, wow! DS2 will be 5 months tomorrow, where has that gone? Have you got first birthday plans made?

Debs75 · 27/01/2012 15:50

I love bathing mine together but Robyn can be a bit rough and has pushed and splashed Lucy more times then I care to remember. At first Lucy used the baby bath but after a while I got a foam bath mat and laid Lucy on that. I washed her with Robyn in then gave her to DP whilst I finished Robyn. Now Lucy gets out first and DP gets in with Robyn.

notcitrus · 27/01/2012 16:21

You lot seem more excited about me giving birth than I am!
Just got MrNC to chase my blood results and some numpty, presumably without access to the bit of my notes that says I don't use phones and have consented for him to relay everything, wouldn't give him them for 'confidentiality reasons' - except said I don't need to worry, which is still giving him confidential info!

But anyway that should mean I get the consultant's signoff and can go to MLU, assuming the urine is OK. They have it in the lab (was worried it might disappear from the public trolley I had to leave it on!) but results will be a couple days. I'd better not have to do that again as my pelvis did NOT like the stretching!

Made it to a local bump+baby group yesterday with some nice mums mostly with older kids in school and younger babies. Though slightly unnerved as every one of the 6 babies threw up on mum's shoulder! A never did that. But then A never slept more than 30 min for the first couple months, so wouldn't object to a swap there...

Finally agreed on middle as well as first name, so that's a relief. MrNC has been reminded that joking about changing it, especially after I give birth, went down very badly last time so he'd better say now if he's not 100% sure! He's now more worried about me and birth than I am - as he said, last time he was desperately working to get a roof on the house and didn't really know anything about birth anyway. Now it's constant quizzing to ensure I don't have a headache or abdominal pain, and whether he should work from home from now on. :)

Becaroooo · 27/01/2012 17:00

Well, NC I wont be having anymore, so I have to live vicariously through you lot!!! Smile

Hope MrNC knows how to log onto MN and update us!!!! Grin

Meglet · 28/01/2012 21:50

What bec said.

If you could all carry on popping babies out I'd be very grateful Grin.
