Im just visiting family stac! Will try and fit in some shopping too though.
Was actually just thinking that when you mentioned the tea rooms needle! We're going from sat til tuesday. Staying in chadwell heath but hoping to get into london in sunday or monday so could pop in for tea if you're around!

WhatSheSaid · 25/08/2011 19:37

tsc I agree, when did 5 As and 5 Bs become a bad result? I didn't do as well as expected in my O'Levels (yes, it was O levels when I did them - old gimmer emoticon. No coursework for us!), I got 5 Bs, 2 Cs and 2 Ds (and Ds were a fail, anything below a C was) and I went on to get 4 A levels including 2 As. I got a degree too, mind you, I've done f all with it really.

hg how's the leak?

stac hope R is better soon

kk have a great time in London

needle we had to do "Needlework" for 2 years at secondary, my word, I hated it, I was so bad at it. I think I made half a shirt in that entire time. I never quite grasped the concept of how to thread a sewing machine which obviously restricted me somewhat.

We have two friends and their 2 kids (each) coming round to play this morning, same ages as A and G.

ChippingIn · 25/08/2011 19:55

TSC - I've been dying to know how DD did in the end - I've been waiting all day to get on line. She did OK didn't she - after all of that fretting! OK - so not as good as she could have if she'd applied herself - but still, all considered. Good. When is she off to Leeds?

Trudyla · 25/08/2011 19:56

Evening all,

you'll be all pleased to hear that my ffffffffs are sorted Grin No more f messages unless I actually want to ffing swear. Had to take it to be repaired and it cost a pretty penny. They say it might have been cat hair Blush. DP wants to ban the cat from my desk now, but that's not gonna happen. That's our special time. The cat lies between my laptop and me when I'm working at my desk and it's awesome Smile

stac That's an amazing price for nursery. I'm really pleased for you. I hope R will feel better really soon. I'm due end of October but M was two weeks early... Not sure if second babies follow this pattern... What's your experience second and third timers?

tsc That sounds like good test results to me. Hope she behaves herself at the festival.

chulita Thanks for the banana ice tip. Will def try that. It's bloody hot here. You really are awe-inspiring dealing with pregnancy and two littlies on your own. My DP is gonna go over to the UK in two weeks for three days only and I'm already panicking, wondering how I will cope and whether I will go into early labour Shock I'm no good without him.

mlic How was the party with the excess exes? (see what I did there? Grin )

cake How is the teething monster F? How does it feel to be back at work properly? Do you miss them during the day or is it really busy?

kk I am really jealous of your London trip. I hope you'll have a fab time.

melissa How exciting about the festival. I really hope he'll not be too sick so you can all have a good time.

Hope I haven't missed anyone.

Things are the usual shit here. Yadayadayada.

Laters.

memphis83 · 25/08/2011 20:36

tsc ive been wanting to get back to see how Kate got on, thats fantastic in my eyes! I remember girls crying that they got 10 A's and one A and they were disappointed that they didnt get all 's then there was me body popping because I got a U! (only one the rest I got passes)

kk enjoy London! How does E get on with the converse? We will need shoes for L soon and I want laces or buckles as he takes off velcro but all clarks are velcro and the buckle ones stop at a 5 at startrite pluse after a 4 they are rock hard soles so thought trainers but you cant get measured lace ups that small!
trudyla did they just clean out the keyboard or did they have to extract parts of you cat from the insides?
needle I sew just not dresses, I made a skirt years ago looking back it was what a hooker would wear it I thought it was great then it split in half and I ended up shuffling out holding my skirt over my small knickers!
stac course sounds great! Ive still not heard from that job, ive lost hope though even though they are still advertising, dh thinks they are trying to get a few applicants then mass interview but meh!
thanks for asking about his friend every day it seems to get worse! He won ever ride again, makes me think I should wear my bike boots and leathers instead of skinny jeans and timerlands, he was only going 40 !! Shock
DH thinks he is working Monday, he says it will pay for Centerparcs, he has gone out with his friend for a drink as he is getting married tomorrow, because its only once your mate gets married, yeah thats why you spent £300 on the 3 day stag do a few weeks ago, £30 for present that ive had to buy, plus new outfit and bloody taxis...you can tell im really happy about it Grin And I bet my motorbike on the fact they dont last! hes a prick!

I need some nice everyday underwear, where do I go? I had a HOLE in my pants last night and then I worked it out they are from before having L, so apart from the size 12 pack of 5 I wore late on in pg Ive not bought any, I went M & S and L freaked out as its so tightly packed in!

CakeandRoses · 25/08/2011 20:59

that's a brill result tsc how do you feel about it?

watching country house rescue (dh is out) and there's a chap called st john on there. reminded me i actually wanted it as a name when pg for a while Grin

catch up later as finally eating dinner

mlic I know, I know, I spent £300 on bike books but walk like a penguin in them, They said without his leathers he would have lost his legs if he had survived whick would have been doubtful, and there I am with my low rise skinnies on and my she ra pants on show! My sister rides a 125 and she wears leggings and no gloves Shock I give her grief for it and dont practice what preach!
Hush puppies are only soft sole up to a 4 in the softer soles in our brantano, I can get soft soled baby style startrites up to a 5 online, I like buckled shoes its a shame they are hard to come by!
oh and mlic we book CP next week Grin
dh is on his way home with ice cream!

kkfairybrains · 25/08/2011 21:43

She gets on great with them memph! She never gets them off and I personally think they're really cute! She has start right shoes aswell but they seem to fall off and then dps cousin got her sketchers twinkle toes that are bloody adorable! she has a bigger shoe collection than I do!
Oh i'd say your blood boiled at 'willy' mlic! I'm the exact same with losing weight. I know what I need to do but juat cba to do it!
I'll miss your fffff's trudy!

CakeandRoses · 25/08/2011 22:00

willy?! Shock did you turn him to ice with a look mlic?

i'm sure you're being too hard on yourself, you look slim in every pic i've seen of you. bloody annoying when enemies look great tho Angry

did she speak to you?

A's down with me now - not sure what's up with her but she woke up screaming and wouldn't go back down. am desperate for a cup of tea and some time to myself.

spirael F always slept better with a pillow too actually (not that we're saying much here given how crap he's always been). as usual i hadn't worked out that A is old enough for a pillow but will get her one now.

that's great news about your nursery fees stac. really pleased for you about the course

trudy i'll miss your Fs too Grin btw, did you ever post on MN about M's crying?

work's been brill, super-busy but really great to get my brain working again. about to launch my first website in bloody years next week! i miss F & A but not in a angsty way. it helps that they seem v happy at nursery and i only do 2 days so it doesn't seem too long away from them. it's a nice balance to the week altho still feeling v disorganised as haven't adapted shopping/housework routines.

memph size 12 when pg Shock i like my knickers loose Wink so wear a 14 in knickers even when not pg, i think i bought 16-18 when pg

chul how's your day been?

CakeandRoses · 25/08/2011 22:13

you sound the same size as me ('cept knickers!) mlic but i don't see myself as overweight. maybe it's just a state of mind Smile

i'll be happy to lose a few pounds when i stop bf but i'm not that bothered about it either really, am happy to be back in size 10s after 2 children tbh.

i know what you mean about the tummy thing tho - mine looks better naked than in jeans

MalibuStac · 25/08/2011 22:14

Just back from hospital with R they multi-dosed her with an inhaler and gave her steroids but can't diagnose asthma because she's under 2 :s. J was taken to another hospital and his knee has soft tissue damage so he'll be off for a few weeks he's gutted. Haven't read back yet will later sorry.

sorry xposted you stac. are you ok?

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 25/08/2011 22:25

i think it's mad that you could be 1 bmi point away from overweight at a size 10 - 12 tbh. i'm slightly taller so bmi would be a bit lower but i prob don't look any different to you.

in years to come you'll look back and think how great you looked at this age old crone emoticon

OP posts:
MelissaM · 26/08/2011 04:04

Are you ok stac? Sounds like you've had a bad day. At least R is on some medication now.

memph sorry to hear about the friend. Yes you should wear you leathers and boots! Debenhams do some nice lingerie I think. Been a while since i've bought anything that wasn't nursing bras.

mlic you definitely aren't over weight. The ex bf can't be happy (or healthy) Wink

Think my two have huge feet - L is already a 5 (1st shoes were a 4) and E is a 10 (& had been for nearly a year so due another spurt) Trying to hold out until she's grown before buying her school shoes but don't think its going to work our :( the shops are already running out of her size and they don't get more stock

All packed and ready to go. Hoping to leave about 7am but we'll see! Currently up with L who has a temp of 38.8 after paracetamol so have given him ibuprofen too.

Kk have a lovely time in London. The shoes sound cute :)

cake hope A is and you got some sleep.

trud glad you got your keyboard fixed

Hope everyone has a good weekend

mlic all my knickers are Asda black boxers 5 pairs for £5 but not as black as they should be!
cakes size 12 under the bump but I wear the boxers so the legs wouldnt dig in, in the last week as I couldnt see the knickers I pulled up 3 pairs and actually pulled the elastic waist off of them!
stac poor kids, hope they both improve soon :(

My size is a 10-12, I weigh 10stone 6 pounds Shock !!! I hate being this weight but its creeping off slowly now

oh and mlic after dh pissed me off the other day he said I can pick which CP we go for Grin

I put on 3 layers of tan last night so now I actually have a healthy glow! my hairdresser should be here any minute to do my roots!

Chulita · 26/08/2011 09:28

wss I did O'levels too and I'm 29 so it's not just old gimmers Grin

trudy L was 2 weeks late, S was bang on time, tbh I think every baby's different. You wouldn't think I was doing so great if you could pop in for a cuppa, L's currently watching cbeebies (again), S is sitting in their toy oven (I think he's stuck but so long as he's not crying he'll be fine), I've finally got on here mainly so I can show off the top I just finished knitting for L.

One week left and DH is home, hooray! I Cannot Wait. doesn't help that L keeps asking where daddy is and saying 'I miss daddy at work'...

memphis L had some gorgeous converse when she was about this age (pink though so S can't share :) ) They took a while to get on but were my favourite of her shoes and always got commented on. I was given them as hand-me-downs though, when I went to buy her the next size up and saw the price...well, she's been in ebay's best ever since Grin
When I ride I always, always wear proper boots, back armour, gloves and jacket and if I'm going anywhere over 30 I bust out the leather trousers...5 years in the police and cleaning up after bike accidents makes me a bit more cautious! I cringe when I see people on the motorway in jeans and trainers

stac poor R :( and J, going to be hard for him to sit still for a few weeks! Hope all picks up in your family!

mlic I'm a size 10-12, bmi 24 at the mo, I've always been an 8-10 with bmi of 21. I'm just going to wait til I've had all the babies we're going to and then work on it. I feel so, so fat it's awful. I bought this dress in the sale yesterday in a 10 and while it fits, it's rather tight but I love it so it'll be something for me to work for next summer! I know what you mean about being the 'fat' friend though...

melissa have a lovely time! and hope L is a cheerier little boy for you!

cake never a good idea to look back at old photos, there's one of me in a bikini 3 months before I got pg with L and it makes me so sad that I didn't like my body back then...argh! I was such an idiot!

Ha ha memphis I bought some cheap post-birth boxers from Asda and exactly the same thing happened to them. Hoiking them up one day and the elastic just kept coming...sexy...

Woodlands · 26/08/2011 09:40

oh no stac, you have all been in the wars! Hope everyone is better very soon.

Chulita, how come you did O-levels? I am about to be 31 and was in about the tenth year to do GCSEs!

Off on holiday this afternoon, can't wait!
