viks I wouldn't worry about doing rooms up/buggies etc until you've got the next one and you can have a think about it. L slept in the study next to the computer for about 3 months before we decided to turn the spare room into the study instead. Neither of our rooms are 'done up' cos we're not allowed to do anything to change colours and I'm not very interior designery. S currently sleeps in a cream room with about 5 odd fairy stickers on the wall from when L was in there but he doesn't notice. I made those balloon pics for L's room and she never notices either!

S goes up and down stairs quite well, I make sure I'm always there but he's not far off doing it by himself. Going down he slides on his tummy and he's quicker that way than I am going backwards. He's currently got a full-on black eye from somewhere, can't work out where he got it cos he falls over so much but it looks horrendous!

I've been missing a bit lately, DH was off for a couple of days and L is really, really hard work at the moment so I'm not online particularly much. She's sitting on her mat at the mo after 30 mins of screaming at the breakfast table. Oop, S is in the bin, gotta go.

Chulita I really hope it's an age thing. ds1 has been a nightmare for two solids weeks now.

I decidied to try to move the beds around on my day off this week to give ds2 his proper cot. He still fits in the travel cot fine but I feel guilty about him not having a proper mattress. Although it's all he's ever known so can't be too much of an issue.

I have contacted the speech and language therapist ds2 was under for his feeding problems and left a message for her about his excessive drooling and the fact that he can't stick his tongue out. I'm not exaggerating when I say he leans over and the drool just pours out of his mouth. It's really, really bad. She's on annual leave though so I don't know when I'll get to speak to her

I got up to do D's breakfast and get him ready for the cm and now im back in bed, just catching up and then im gona kip!!!! Got hospital for anti D bloods at 12, i need to pop in to work to pick up some stuff and then a house valuation at 4, i wana catch up on the ironing and get the spare room ready for mom and dads visit at the weekend, if i get all that done i can chill out on my second day to myself on thursday.

Chu whats going on with L? Whats she doing to be hard work? How are u feeling at the moment, you must be close to ur 20 wk scan soon. Where did u get S's waterproof a in one from and did u find it easy to use?

mlisc I'm sure it's an age thing but it's such hard going at the mo! I hope you get something from that lady re W's dribbling. L was a wet, wet baby til about 13 months, would soak a bib in under 30 mins but thankfully she outgrew it.

spirael she doesn't need to move til she doesn't fit anymore. I only moved L into a bed because I was pg with S and couldn't get her over the cotbed sides anymore.

viks I got his waterproof from Millets, it was the only place I could find one! It's very easy to get on and off, the zip is the right length so there's no faffing.
L's just extremely argumentative/disobedient/tantrums at the drop of a hat/attention demanding/bullies S one minute, next minute she's kissing him/telling me how much she loves me/singing...it's non-stop and I feel like I'm losing the battle most of the time.
I've got an obstetrics appt in an hour, DH couldn't get the time off work and on the letter it says strictly no more than one person to accompany you 2 toddlers don't count as one person do they? I tried ringing all last week to change the date but they never picked up the phone and there was no option to leave a message so they'll just have to take us as we come.

mylife sorry keep xposting, do you have a cot for W? Are they both in the same room now and is W sleeping through? D was up in the night again, i just cant figure out whats wrong with him, it seems like tummy but who can tell, i dont medicate any more in the night because it just doesnt seem to help.
chu U really do have ur hands full, they cant exactly do anything about you taking the children, i just hope they are good for u! might pop to millets today then. x

No vik, he's in a travel cot in the spare room. After that holy commotion when I tried to get them to sleep in the same room last month I decided not to try again until he's older. His proper cotbed is in ds1's room so clearly isn't being used.

I'm attempting to have a bit of a toy sort out. Don't know why I thought that was a good idea with the boys around - I'm having to be very sneaky about throwing stuff away without them noticing

Vik I didn't realise you had to provide your own lunches for him! I don't know any childminders round here who don't cook for their mindees as part of their fee. I tend to give them a snack type lunch and a 'proper' evening meal. So lunches tend to be scrambled eggs, mushrooms, beans and toast/sandwiches/soup and bread and then evening meals are spag bol/pie and veg/ fishfingers and wedges / curry/ casserole etc

I feel sad that it's gorgeous and expensive and is sat there gathering dust with a brand new mattress, it feels like such a waste. But dh is working 70hr weeks at the moment and I can't bring myself to ask him to demolish three beds and move them around on a weekend so I'm going to attempt to do it myself [either brave or stupid emoticon]

mlic I feel the same dh is working 70 hr weeks and we are moving, he hates things being everywhere so im trying to sort the bedroom out at least today! the playroom is actually the kitchen diner but the kitchen is in one corner so i can get a gate then we dont need a huge dining room as i only feed others at xmas so we are making it a family room so at night I can sit in the living room with no toys in view!
viksam L has slop for lunch at the mo due to his teeth but im going to get him back on the toast he doesnt eat for me anyway so he may as well suck on toast and throw that on the floor over slop being thrown on my newly painted white kitchen wall!

The dog has just pulled the curtain rail out of the wall, Im half tempted to take it down but then we will have no curtains for a month...but im taking the very expensive rail with me and I need to dry clean the curtains? hmm decisions!
DH wont be back til about 11pm tonight, my friend gave birth in the night and my other friend is in labour! all boys too I can feel myself getting broody! im going to pop off and load the car for the tip, then load it with stuff I can store at my mums!

I'm still here and still pregnant. Just didn't have much time to post lately.

37+2 today, so baby boy is officially ready. Just came back from doctor. All is fine, she doesn't think I will go over, but the more people keep telling me that, the more I'm changing my mind and think he will be late. I also think I could wait a bit longer, even though I'm as fat as anything and rather uncomfortable.

memph Great news on the house. Sounds fantastic.

chul Hope they won't give you a hard time for bringing two kids. L's behaviour sounds a nightmare. I am in utter awe for you about handling two kids and pregnancy. I really am.

vik I hear you on all your worries about the future. Will she wake at night when baby cries? how to handle two at bath and bet time etc. I suppose we'll have to wait and see. One lady on my antenatal thread (who has twins M's age and is expecting the next in October) said, what can you do? You simply won't not cope. Wise words I think, at least in advance, to ease the worry.

No tips on colds I'm afraid trudyla, S is currently riding one out with much vom-inducing yellowy snot trailing...

mlic it is just their age, but sooooo irritating. Had to spend nearly 2 hours waiting for the consultant today in a small waiting room with open corridors and no toys at all. 'twas not fun...

I've been booked in for the cs already 13th of March, 2 days before edd so I hope I don't go into labour before then. So...cs 13/03/12, 1st wedding 09/04/12, 2nd 21/04/12 AAAAHHHHHHH!! I can't not go to my brothers weddings but eek! 4 hour drive with 3.3yr old, 21 month old, and a just under 4 week old...4 weeks after cs - I'm bricking it already.

On the plus side, we put L to bed in pants last night and refused any mucking around/asking for night-time pants etc so she didn't do her nightly poo-in-pullups trick and she just now took herself off to the toilet and did a poo first time ever, no prompting, no reminders, I nearly fell down the stairs in shock.

That's brilliant about her poo . Did she go all night dry then? Or did you put pull ups on after? I can't see ds1 going dry at night for ages yet. Once in a blue moon he wakes up dry but usually he's pretty wet.

No tips on colds either Trud. Does she have a pillow to sleep on to prop her head up? You can get plug in vapour thingies which are quite good but it's just a case of riding it out really.

I can't work out whether to congratulate myself or chastise myself for being so sad that I'm really pleased with myself for today's 'work'...I've done a big clean of the living room (thrown toys away, moved and hoovered behind the couches etc, the stuff you don't do day to day) and I've scrubbed the kitchen and extention floors by hand (as you always get a better result I think) and I'm getting excited about the fact dh gave me some money this morning to go and get a sewing machine

mlic didnt know you were a sewer! Mine needs a service but it will be cheaper to get a basic one than service one I have!

L is back in bed, dont normally do 2 naps but he is so over tired with not sleeping at night, I have made choc orange cupcakes, packed 3 boxes, halfway through my friend who is in labours bunting, been to the tip after sorting 4 liners of rubbish, thrown out my mirrors, and after packing one i realise I only have my bathroom mirror! Im going over to my mums to collect more boxes and clear out stuff out the loft and also get storage boxes for make up and hair products so I can throw out my wardrobes and dresser! our new bed gets delivered tomorrow!
my friend text earlier saying 'they really do hurt dont they' about contractions, I think maybe she thought I was being over dramatic when I told her it was like a giant corkscrew pulling your insides out!

We did cheat in that right before we went to bed (around 10pm) we put her in a reusable pull-up but she was dry in the morning and because she was in cloth she did a wee in the toilet first thing. I think we'll ditch the pull-ups cos it's too easy for her to think that papery thing next to her arse will catch her evils and stick to the clothy ones for now.

I agree re hand-scrubbing floors, mops aren't much cop.

Fwiw I would absolute love bunting for the children. I keep thinking about making some but have got far too many projects on at the mo with cushion covers half done, cross-stitch for L half done, just started winter hat for S and doing a bit of crochet food for L...if someone gave me some I'd be psyched!

Iwouldn't really class myself as a sewer tbh. I had never used a sewing machine until I started that craft group and I made a bag and some bunting there (hence the idea). So I have bought a lovely jubbly brother sewing machine today and may crack it open tonight when the boys are in bed, depending on how tired I am. I wanted to go to the charity shop and look for some clothes/fabrics to play with/practise on but ds1 was having none of it. Might see if I have anything upstairs I can faff about with.

I've got a dreamgenii cushion cover that's cut out and just needs sewing together and handstitching the zip. Probs an evening's work but seriously cba at the mo!

mlic ive got two lots of bunting to finish but I always hand finish the tape onto the actual flags, should be doing it now as my friends baby will be here tonight but cba, Ive had my nieces for 6 months but still not finished it!

DH is stuck in Manchester still trying to get home he isnt happy, and im watching dont tell the bride! I feel like ive got so much to do but my mum has reminded me I have 3 weeks to do it!

Akkkkkkkkkkkk, i wish i had time to be all crafty, what ever i did would be pants but id like to have a bash. I have a singer sewing machine in a wooden box, i wonder if it works?
mylife Its a right pita to keep providing lunch and dinner for him to take every day, i know i would have to do it if he was at home but i would be eating myself then and would do the same for him so it wouldnt be a problem. This is another reason why nursery is better for us and him. You have done loads today and you should be very proud of yourself, have u done all that with the children around??? If so you are truly amazing!!!!!!
chu is it strange having a date for ur baby? What will u do with S and L when u go in? I agree with memph dont stress about something that so far in the future, u have a lot to do between now and then! Glad today went ok.

yes, I'm glad I don't need to worry about meals for nursery! The food there is really good.

Took J to the Museum of Childhood today which he loved - the displays were interesting but he also played in a sandpit, crawling through tunnels, in the under 3s play area, with some duplo, in a sensory area, with some bricks and in a big police car thing. He had a great time! Plus we met another kid who goes to his nursery and I got to know her parents a bit and the children played together.

Hi all, on the train again to basingstoke, supposed to be on holiday this week, the things we do for work! D slept through last night but woke at 5.40, I went in with shhhhh and dummy but he didn't settle, I felt bad for my dh and nearly got D up but then I thought hold on its me that's got a long day ahead and me that usually does it all so no he can do it all today including putting to bed, I bet he's grumpy when I get in later.

If you want good wellies for little legs I found Asda are the shortest (but then S is tiny and still happily fits in 9-12mth so he's got very short legs)
