Morning all! Finally got my car back yesterday, thanks Stac. :)

Though having driven a shiny new C3 Picasso all week, my 6 year old Ford Fiesta now feels rather small and I've got a nasty feeling the clutch will need changing at the next MOT... Time to look at getting a new car, I reckon!

For the competitive tiny feet, M was first measured for 2.5 but we ended up getting her a 3F as the style came up small. She still fits them now, two months later! Tiny feet combined with being really tall is what's stifling her walking, I think.

Though she did manage to drunkenly stagger then fall walk two steps unaided over the weekend. Grin

I think we need another development survey soon... I can't honestly say M is walking properly yet, nor has she said anything meaningful or consistantly. However she can build 3 block towers and use her fork to stab and eat food now! Is that good or bad? [clutches at straws]

All this talk of weights makes me convinced I need to tighten my diet up further. I'm being pretty strict at present, but my weight is holding steady rather than dropping. :(

I think once SILs wedding passes next week I'll have to go to super-strict diet (no more single evening chocolate [sob]) and make sure to get down to pre-baby weight before Christmas. [determined] [stubborn]

Is anyone up to anything exciting this weekend? :) My weekend will hopefully be blissfully quiet. I've got lots of fun cooking planned; making a (healthy!) curry completely from scratch for Sunday and I might even have a go at making some Mozzarella for pasta night on Monday.

TSC, I hope your DD packed a raincoat, umbrella and possibly a rubber dinghy for this weekend! It's raining heavily here and apparently going to keep it up all day. However the weekend itself is meant to be slightly better.

I've not had J's feet measured yet, but I got him some wellies in a size 4 (smallest they did) and they fall off, so I think he's only a 3 still. Can't wait to take him to get fitted for his first pair of shoes! I'm not going to do it till he needs them to walk outside. Though I might have to invest in some cruising/crawling shoes for him when the weather gets worse for him to crawl around in the nursery garden in.

I know a couple of people who weren't able to get proper walking shoes small enough for their children when they started walking. There must be a gap in the market!

We are off to Devon later for a week. Hope the weather is good! There's wifi in the cottage so I'll still be online.

Hi all

J's leg is still aching so he's just lying about :). R's breathing has improved with the steroids and inhalers but the cough and runny nose is still there. She slept not too bad, usual wake ups. I'm shattered so will nap when she does.

R is a size 4 in a shoe. She has nike trainers and some buckle shoes. We're going for converse soon as she's walking now.

kk my cuz came home from a wedding in derry at the weekend and they all have chicken pox. Is it when the spots scab over they aren't contagious? Hope your clear to travel.

spireal sounds like you will be getting a new car soon.

woods enjoy devon.

So Envy of all you 8/10/12/14 I'm a. 16/18 on a good day haha. Hope alls well.

Hers are mostly still blisters but I think it should be ok to travel. The doctor wasn't much help. Told me she wasn't infectious and then rang back 10 mins later to say she was!
Yeah I was thinking that mlic cos i've never noticed her scratching herself so don't think she knows how yet

Gah! I feel really lonely tonight...7 more days and he'll be home. I can't phone him or text or anything so it's like he's just dropped off the planet. L has pissed me off so much today I feel like if she does one more thing I'm going to explode. The roofer called as well, seems every time he rings it's another couple of hundred quid, we're flat broke and the car we were going to sell my bro wants off us so we won't get any money for that...I need a bath or something to cheer me up.
Sorry about the 'me' post, I'll come back when I'm nice.

i've had such a short fuse with F today has he's still driving me bloody bananas too.

Im not going to join in with the weight talk Grin

I havent had Ds feet measured yet but hes been taking more and more steps, I think 6 is the most hes done in a row now but he keeps trying all the time. We're going to an outlet next week so I might get him measured in Clarks and see what they've got.
Would it be better to get him crusing shoes or proper walking ones?

Report
Chulita · 26/08/2011 20:38

It is our car but my grandad gave it to us for nothing so if it stays in the family it kind of needs to be passed on for free. There's no way I could ask him for money (even if he wasn't unemployed) since we didn't pay a bean for it!
Can't really have chocolate either, I have evening sickness more than morning so at this time of night everything makes me throw up

dh I'd go for walking ones, he seriously won't be long by the sounds of it and the shape will be better for encouraging him to walk imo.

mlic I'm allergic to the Shred, honestly I've done it 4 times and every time I have to stop because I get a cold (I have the same reaction to multivitamins oddly enough Hmm) Hope yours doesn't develop into anything! How are you doing on holding off the crisps?

stac how's R doing with the inhalers?

memphis good stuff on finding that ring!

cake I can't blame teeth with L, it's pure toddlerness but man alive she drives me up the wall. Everything at the moment is argued, "come and have breakfast" "NO" "would you like a drink?" "NO, want drink" "let's go for a walk" " NO WANT GO WALK" etc
S however is gorgeous, very whingy but then I reckon he misses his dad cos when we're upstairs he's always trotting round to DH's side of the bed and peering over.

Off for bath and bed methinks, the world will be a happier place in the morning.

Hi I'm not doing so well at the moment. :(

I've had a sore stomach for a while and on Wednesday I was doubled over in agony and had to call my granny round as I couldn't get off the floor. She called the doctor and they said my stomach lining was inflammed and gave me tablets to reduce the acid in my stomach.

Then yesterday I just couldn't breathe properly so had to go to the doctor again who said I was hyperventilating and has given me diazepam. She said I must be stressed about things and I lied and said I wasn't.

I thought I was doing ok but I guess I'm not coping as well as I thought :(
