OK this is it I have started the thread in the vain hope that someone on the December antenatal thread will pop and come and join me, I have been waiting for over 3 weeks now and to be honest with you I think your all being a little selfish making me wait around on my own .

Can't believe I am the one starting this thread I'm not due till 18/12/05 yet by then George will be nearly 6 weeks old, I tell you what though I feel really really sorry for the last person to give birth from December as they will be dying to get onto this thread by then.

As sad as this may seem over the next few days (or weeks if you lot don't get popping) I'm going to post on this thread little messages so that when people start crossing over they have something to read, well that is what I intend to do anyway but whether George lets me do that is a totally different thing.
I shall deffo post my birth story on here I have waited so long to do it so expect that to appear in the next day or so.

So come on over ladies the grass really is greener on the other side.

HERES WISHING YOU MANY HAPPY NAPPIES [GRIN] [GRIN] [GRIN]

Hello all, I had the c section on friday and wanted to let you know that Jack arrived in the afternoon weighing in at a very impressive 12lbs 4oz (I did keep saying I was v. uncomfortable but did anyone believe me??!!) He is totally gorgeous and is adored already by his big sister. We were allowed home at lunchtime today and are now looking forward to Christmas with a bigger family than last year!
Good luck to all of you still waiting.

Can I join? Gorgeous baby boy Nicholas born on Monday 5th, 4 days late (felt like a long 4 days. Contractions beginning slowly at 2am, other children dispatched to school/ playgroup, midwife arriving at 9 am, wandered around at home feeling I was coping, TENS machine on at 11.30-ish, waters going at 12.32, baby born at 12.37 next to our bed with dh massaging my back - incredibly painful, but fantastic nonetheless - what an incredible experience it is. One small tear in the labia, which had to be stiched (tmi?) and which is quite painful now. But he is all fine, which is the most important thing now. Big brothers and sister very enthusiastic (big sis not minding at all about being the only girl) and that is definitely it!
Good luck everyone else and just think what you have at the end of it all!

bonkerz · 07/12/2005 12:19

Morning ladies,

Well...here go's......

I went to hospital at 10.30 last night and after being monitered for a while (but receiving no internal examination) the mw told me to go home as my contractions were not regular or strong enough. We got home at about 12.30pm but on the way home the contractions had gotten stronger and closer together. The mw had said not to go back to hospital so I stuck it out at home.

After a very painful hour my waters went around 1.30 and I immediatly needed to push. My dh got me into the car (somehow) and drove like a formular one driver to the hospital. It's a good job it was the middle of the night as I was on my hands and knees in the car park trying to get a big enough break in contractions to get into the wheelcahir that was waiting for me when I arrived.

We got to the hospital about 2am - the mw's got me into the delivery room, took my trousers off and the baby was already crowning. A couple of pushes later and Luca Benjamin was born at 2.14am weighing 8Ib 2Oz.

And guess what - no stiches

We were home by 5.30am and my dd is loving her new baby brother. I feel great (if a little tired) and can't believe how different this birth was to dd's.

sweetheart · 08/12/2005 09:40

Whoops - sorry haven't had much sleep - it should say Lucas Benjamin!!!! [blsuh]

yellowbear · 08/12/2005 14:01

Congratulations Sweetheart! Its amazing how these midwives think they know best!

Lucas Benjamin is a lovely name.

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 08/12/2005 15:37

Welcome over sweetheart, so glad it finally happened for you and you got your exam out of the way

I think you may have started a trend and more Dec ladies will be joining us soon.

Get lots of rest and drop in here when you feel fit enough also give Lucas a big cuddle from me.
