Happy belated birthday to those that have already had them and happy birthday to those to come.

Can't believe my little baby is 3 and starting nursery with her big brother in 12 days time! It can't be possible can it!

"Cassoo" as Felix would say!
He's been playing in the garden with his new Aquaplay set, very happy. Party for him and his little nursery chums tomorrow. Circus theme. Have been baking all afternoon! Grin
He was funny when we opened one card and a fiver fell out - he was genuinely suspicious and a bit nervous of the money and said "What is that? I don't yike it, I want a tractor! Take it away!" We explained that it was a good thing as you could hand it over and get a tractor, but he didn't believe us!

PuzzleRocks · 07/04/2012 08:59

Bless him, I am pretty sure I was already mercenary at 3. Grin

Boff :) F sounds so darling. :)
Moo would decide to use any 'monies' to go around and around on the merry go round ...

HAPPY EASTER [busmile] everyone

bebemoojem · 09/04/2012 20:04

Happy Birthday to all the kids for this week :)

Is everyone all chocolated out?

BB3 · 10/04/2012 09:05

Happy birthday to all the babies I've missed those coming up this week!

Can I pick your brains? Any idea how I can potty train k seeing as we have no idea what he can hear and he can't speak to tell us he needs to go? We've tried signs but he gets upset and moves your hands away from your face so he can concentrate on lip reading. But he is so uncomfortable, he hates having nappies on full stop and physically removes offending items from them with his hands as soon as he's done them which is just horrendous. I've tried him in pants but while he is happy to keep them on he does the same removal rather than signal he's about to do it. I left him naked yesterday but he typically decided to do the deeds whenever I was feeding/changing/soothing the girls so couldn't get the potty underneath him in time! I genuinely don't know what to do whether to persevere without nappies and just try and get there in time so he sees what to do and just hope he learns. Gah!

We see ent two weeks tomorrow and I just hope they can get the process moving quickly.

BB3 · 10/04/2012 09:06

Oh and bebe - you can never have too much chocolate Wink

JesusInACabbageVan · 10/04/2012 10:16

BB3 can you get a simple picture book about potty training that you can point to and read to him? Or a picture of a potty he can point at when he needs to go? With DS1 we had potties in every room to start off with, so he could just jump on one whenever he needed to go. It didn't take much time before we could move to one on upstairs and one downstairs, and then move them into the bathroom.

We liked this book: On Your Potty

And chocolate buttons for getting to the potty is always a winner. Wink

bebemoojem · 10/04/2012 15:59

I'd second the book idea and maybe do clipart flashcards as well as signs? It helped having a potty on each floor (and one in the main room we were in). We found with Moo she was very particular and had to pick her's out and I was surprised that she's taken to the 'big toilet' happily enough when we put the step in front of it. We used treats too. 1 for pee, 2 for poo after hands were washed.
Tho I know nothing abt potty training ... we're struggling with Moo again as suddenly she's decided to always wait, whether we are in or out, and she pees her pants way too often now, when she at first had no accidents. and going out of the house is just not happening we have a 3 hour window of opportunity in the morning after that it's just stressful as the tide can come at any moment.
