OMG Stac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
excellent news, hope all goes well, dont forget mad things happen, look at us!

WhatSheSaid · 24/07/2011 22:11

vik G is on cow's milk only and has been since she stopped bfing, she is still having it twice a day (mornign and evening) in a bottle - I should start giving it to her in a cup really. She has a cup (of water) the rest of the day.

trudy sorry things are still tough for you.

stac how exciting for you! Good luck.

Not much happening here, we're into the second week of no pre-school for A as it's school holidays. Last week the weather was ok so we got out of the house as much as possible. Today is cooooooold (for NZ) and we just had hail so we may just go to the library and a cafe to get out of the house.

vik thanks for reminding me: i MUST sort out a new car seat for A. so sweet about the baby moving

Thanks everyoneGrin. Was telling dp about you viks and he was saying hopefully it will be quicker this time. We also know what worked for us so maybe easier. Regarding cows milk R has it in her bottle I just swapped the formula for cows milk.

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/07/2011 07:13

cake thats not bad for jeans if they last you forever.

stac congrats on TTC again, fingers crossed for you :) Yeah we had a really good time thanks. The oyster festival is held every year in my hometown as its renowned for its oysters so they bring out stalls and bands and plays. It was PACKED, its def the busiest year Ive never seen it so heaving, we couldnt walk through the harbour because we were moving 1cm every few mins.

Well after Dylan's 6pm bedtime he woke twice before I got to bed and still woke during the night so it didnt make much difference.

MalibuStac · 25/07/2011 09:17

R woke loads during the night I have no idea what's wrong with her I am beyond tired. She should have been knackered yesterday but no. Don't think it helped that the boys kept coming in and out of the room and unsettling her.

What's your plans for today? Think we're meeting a friend to go out. My friends had a little girle last night she was 6lb they've called her Cassidy. Not sure if I love the name but after R I can't talk Grin

viksam · 25/07/2011 09:19

D woke at 4.30 too DH which is a shame as thats the first time for at least 4 weeks that he has woke in the night, but he has a cold and since holiday he has become, or i have alowed him to become, more dummy relient again, so it was just a quick settle and dummy back in and he went straight off, which was good. He did take a long time to settle at bedtime again though.
chu hows the early waking going? did u get much done at the house? I know ur not back till tomorrow but im at work so probably wont get a chance to post much.
cake what car seat do u think u will go for?
I forgot yesterday to go to the really good pram shop in exeter, which is annoying as i saw an ace tandem double buggy in there but cant remember what its called, cake whats urs called and trudy why do u like it so much? Really need to put my thinking cap on re doubles. Think we will sell the icandy, i really like it but its such a rip off to turn it into a double.
mylife yeah hes a tinker, hes on the 25 percentile line in 'the book' but has maintained it so hes just gona be small i think, well in 5'2 and DH is 5'6 so he hasnt got much of a chance really. Might get him weighed today actually while the carpet dries. DH is home today so it feels like a sunday again but he just wants to tinker around with his new posh car all day, which is understandable i suppose.
Whats everyone else got planned for the week?
I want to have thursday off work this week but the boss is on holiday so cant ask permission, there is a stand in but only for emergencies, i wont be effecting anyone if i dont go in, do you think i should ask the stand in or just take it off and tell the boss afterwards??

stac wow congrats! I love the name your friend picked! Did you need help when ttc R??
dylthan they took the gate off at fil, and because the wall was rubbish it took ages to get a new one back on, they couldnt leave it with no gate on due to motorbikes then not being safe, he only lives 20 yards away, ive told DH im not answering the door to him when he is away, DH has told him to call before which he did yesterday but it was an inconvenient time so I told DH now he has to man up and tel fil no sorry not convenient! rather than yes come over!
viksam I love it that baby is moving thats the one thing I loved about being pg.

Feeling better again this morning but now the antib's are working Im not coughing up anything so I just cough, which is making the diaphram (sp?) sore! My fiesta is going for an MOT today I hope it passes then I can sell it!
Have a great day everyone

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/07/2011 09:54

Im going into town when D has woken from his nap, get the fruit and veg for the week and walk around the park.
Then Ive got my 20s group, we're having a teddy bears picnic today.

Trudyla · 25/07/2011 10:05

Morning all

I'm feeling much better fthis morning. Thanks again all for listening.f

cake I might get a thread going in parenting. I'm always a bit scared of a wider net just in case someone will tell me that I've done it all wrong and I should have taught her to play independently and be independent.f How? How do you do that? Iff she screams the minute you turn your back? Nevermind, I might man up and do it later.

viks There is no HV equivalent here, so it is just the doctor. She said last time that there is nothing physically wrong with her and that she doesn't think it's a food allergy or intolerance because it's just her behaviour, not anything physical.

stac Wow, how nice to start ttc again. Good luck with it!

Will write more later, gotta go now.

trudy we'll all wade in and stick up for you if some harpy dares to suggest that! it's not the issue with M at all, imo and i would tell you if i thought it was.

vik i think we'll prob buy another besafe altho they're expensive at £340.

F has one (as does both of chul's two) and it means we can keep F rear-facing til 4 which was the reason we bought it in the first place. just need to check out the logistics of fitting another one behind the drivers seat as they are huge and are set towards the front seats to give the child legroom against the backseats. dh is 6ft and i'm not sure he will be able to drive with the seat forward enough for the seat, i struggle enough in the passenger seat with F behind me.

i just called the shop we got it from and there's another option of the Britax 2-way elite which he can stay rear-facing til 4 and then can go forward-facing til 6 and will take up less room than the besafe one.

mlic i'm too enjoying this period of A without the ttc/pg that I had with F at that time. F was an easy baby but i think worrying about your pfb takes it out of you whatever they're like.

arrghh, why is everything so time-consuming?! just phoned up to renew house/contents insurance and it came up about our house being listed. apparently that's a big issue now and it's can't be processed 'on the online system' despite the fact i'm doing it by telephone and it's been listed for several hundred years, let alone the three years or so i've been with this insurer Confused Angry

on the upside, have just found out our 4 year old fridge freezer is under a 5yr extended warranty (which i must have negotiated for free as we never pay for them) so the repair to the door (which is only hanging on by one hinge at the mo) is covered! RESULT!

trudy start the thread if you have tsc backing you up you cant go wrong Grin
mlic poor kid :( my nephew was 6 and the younger one 3 when my sister was really ill, she had called me to go and help get the kids ready for school but I had a long walk as I didnt drive, when I arrived at her house the 6yo told me matter of factly he had turned on the iron, ironed his brothers t shirt for playschool, gave him his breakfast and they were just going to brush their teeth Shock we obviously never taught him to do these things but we were horrified that he may tell the school and them think its the norm!!

We have cleaned my Fiesta, and its going on ebay tonight :( It failed its MOT buts its being fixed Friday.L decided to help by climbing in the bucket of water fully clothed andthen started filling the bucket with gravel!! Got lamb in the oven and L is just going to bed now!

MalibuStac · 25/07/2011 19:00

Have you started a thread trudy?

memphis I had help to have R as I have polycystic ovary syndrome. This time I know what worked for us

Sorry to hear that mlic.

I read that thread too - I do agree that 3 is too young. However, I'm all in favour of children learning to cook and taking their turn at cooking as well as other less enjoyable household chores from as young as possible - I don't know what age, but three sounds too young to be handling hot stuff.

Nursery went well again this morning. The staff are all lovely, with the possible exception of a rather dopey woman who was on kitchen duty this lunchtime. Another staff member was having to stand over her to check she did things properly, and also they cross-check plates going out for allergies and stuff. Anyway, I asked for a glass of water and she poured me some from a jug. I took a massive swig and swallowed before I realised it was sterilisation fluid. WTF?! It was VILE. She was very apologetic, and I knew it wouldn't do me any harm, but have had a bit of a sore throat all afternoon! Let's hope she doesn't make that mistake with the children!

Apart from that, I left J there for a bit this morning and sat in reception. He was fine, though they came to get me because he was very sleepy and they had tried rocking him to sleep but it didn't work. I also couldn't get him off to sleep - there was just far too much going on. I have no idea how on earth they will ever get him to sleep there... ah well.
