cakes sounds sad for the girls :(
woodlands sounds like a nice day, hope your ok with work tomorrow.
dh just explain to DH that you dont like him looking at it and hopefully he wont, My dh got told this at the start and he hasnt looked (he isnt too good on a computer and cant delete history) DH has a friend who watches it all the time and his gf doesnt care, but I know im not into it so dont want it in the house!

stac I think it was you who asked, yes mil yesterday, tewlling me to drink more and fil today who was oblivious that I was ill at all!

I feel tons better today, been to see my mum, just have a bit of a rattly cough but im fine, og and the maffis spot that has bruise my head, I cant touch above my eyebrow or 4 inches into my hairline but the spot itself looks small! maybe its one of those oh my god memphis had a spider crawl under her skin like on FB!! Grin

CakeandRoses · 31/07/2011 19:55

doh! sorry stac just realised i addressed my last post to memph as i thought it was her who'd asked about the ds

sounds like a wonderful day woodlands! We're both starting work next week then. good luck! how many hours/days are you doing again?

sounds like good plan about you going to the house while dh is away chul Grin at historical figure cinders*

you properly made me snort about the spider memph glad you're on the mend tho

think memph's advice is good re your dh dh

Woodlands · 31/07/2011 20:13

so glad you're feeling better memphis.

I'm working 3 days (21 hours) spread over four - so three days of 5 hours each at home and one full 7 hour day in the office. J is going to nursery for two mornings (8-1.30) and the full day and then my mum's coming here to look after him on the other short day. We;ll see how it goes - might need to tweak after a few months. How about you, cake?

WhatSheSaid · 31/07/2011 20:22

Woodlands glad the day went well.

cake sil sounds mad! Sorry it messed up your weekend. Same with your brother's gf Dylthan - sounds horrible.

mlic I agree with cake, if my dh said he was embarassed about the house I would tell him he has two hands and is perfectly capable of cleaning it up himself. Especially on a Saturday, when he's not at work.

A's first day at morning pre-school today - 4 hours instead of 2.5 in the afternoon - have to do her a little lunchbox and everything for morning tea. Will stay with her a bit as it's her first day at "big" pre-school (older kids go in the morning).

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/07/2011 20:24

memphis yes that is a good idea, thanks :) Glad you're feeling better.

Chulita · 31/07/2011 21:10

memphis I'm so glad you're on this thread, your posts make me chuckle every time! Grin

mlic my dh is very similar in that he knows it's hard work but he'd love the house to be a bit tidier. Thankfully he's very hands on so although it's unusual for him to hoover/mop, he will wash up and do the laundry quite often.

wss hope A has fun today! It's a big step.

Off to bed, have most definitely hit the 1st trimester wall.

memphis83 · 31/07/2011 21:41

Joking aside I now think the maffis spot is a bite its already got smaller after some piriton!
Car is going in to garage tomorrow, DH has given me £100 to buy a dress for wedding, so we are getting the bus to town to meet my mum need to get things from town that I havent been able to get for 2 weeks, I also need to get stuff for the next week in case the MMR floors L this week.
hope tsc had a great day

mlic that does sound like a crazily busy day! Hope you got a good night after all that.

memphis just keep an eye out for spiders...I hate it when I find a random bite cos I just imagine some hideous insect munching on me while I'm asleep, yeuch!

I'm at my wits' end with S. I've dropped his morning nap and pushed his bedtime back til 7pm and he's still waking up around 5.30am. That means he's getting about 2.5 hours less sleep a day but still waking up stupidly early. I'm going to plough on without the morning nap for another week I think and see if it catches up with him and starts making him sleep longer but if not I just don't know what to do. We had 5 days of him waking at 6.15 after pushing his bedtime back but it didn't last. The thing is when he wakes up at 5.15, he just cries all morning til 12 when I put him in bed and then all afternoon too. He's so obviously tired but we've somehow got blocked with this crappily fuck-awfully early morning thing. I'm sick to the back teeth of tired, whinging boy.

L still won't poo in the potty either, she saves it up all day and does it in her pull-ups. I swear I'm going to punch someone...I'm so pissed off about it all today.

Oh yes, and it's raining so my plans to go to the park are thwarted and I have no idea what to do with these two. AAARRRGGGHHH!!

tsc how's F?

CakeandRoses · 01/08/2011 08:31

sounds bloody tiring. what time does L wake up? has S stopped bf now?

A has taken to waking up around 6am but she goes back down til 7 - 8 am after a feed. not perfect but it's manageable and seems quite common. could you get S back off after a feed?

what time is he having his nap? i find A needs to go down around 11.30am latest. if its earlier than 11am then s÷he doesn't sleep much, much later then she starts to get really clumsy and emotional.

i think wss said her A used to poo in her pull-ups so might have some advice. F can be bribed by stickers charts for most things but i know you said they don't work with L.

woodlands 20 hours hopefully split between 2 x 8 hour days in my local office/sometimes in mayfair (whilst F & A are in nursery) and then the other 4 hours done as and when during the week (whilst F & A are at home Confused)

Last day of being in non-working mode Sad

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 01/08/2011 08:33

the reason i'm doing that re hours is so i don't have to put F & A in nursery another day and so i get paid for those random hours of doing emails at 11pm and urgent conference on my days off, iyswim?

chu I posted on your other thread, I know how you feel. D is waking up earlier and eaarlier nowadays due to going to bed at 7:30-8pm. He was up at half 5 this morning and DH and I both trudged out of bed at 6:15
Hes having a nap now and will have one again at lunchtime.

In total he had 3.5 hours sleep during the day yesterday which I think is too much but I never want to wake him because I think he needs it and it gives me a break. It doesnt help that he also wakes up at least once before waking at half 5 so Im just shattered.

Its going to be boiling here today, high 20s they say.

chulita sounds frustrating in your house at the mo, hows the sickness?
mlic ive got so much I need to sell on e bay, want to do it this week so its extra holiday spends, not sure if I should sell the walker or put it in the loft, got mostly my stuff to sell though.
L fell and banged his head on concrete when I left him with dh for 20 mins yesterday, it looks so swollen and bruised :(

mlic I know, it looked awful, I kept saying look at his head, it looked freakish, but dh didnt seem concerned at all, I know L always bangs himself then gets back up and is chirpy as ever but it scares me whitless, NHS Direct just say oh if he is chirpy he is fine, my friends little girl fell from the car on when her brother opened the door flat onto her face on their drive, she rushed her to hospital and said she banged the front of her head? hmm well thats what its for! and sent her home!

ffMorning all,

sounds rough chulita. I hope you'll get something sorted soonfff. How about going back to your early bedtime iff a later one doesn't make any difference? I also second what cake said about the latesft M needs to go for a nap is 11:30. We used to make her hold on till after lunch but found it works much better this way round.

cake Enjoy your last work free day.

MLIC What do you think was up with W that he woke so offten?

dh I agree, 3.5hours naps during tfhe day sound too much. But I also undersftand that you are not waking him. It's just so nice to getf a break, isn't it.f

memph Poor L, he is such a little adventurer, isn't he. Hope he's not in too much pain.

tsc How's F? How did the party go?

woodlands Good luck with work.

wss How was A's firsft "grown up" day?

My midwife (for new baby) is coming over in a bit and we'll discuss my birthing options. I defff don't want to go back fto the hospital where I had M so we're thinking about a birthing centre which sounds like a good option.

fNo other plans for tfoday. Laters.

Morning all

I feel guilty whinging but we had such an awful night I feel sick, my eyes are sore and I'm not liking dd too much today. She was overly tired but wouldn't settle till 9pm from then she kept waking and drank 16oz of milk from 9 to 1am (dp gave her a 2nd bottle, don't like him either). Then she wouldn't settle was up and crying for about 3 hours, gave anbesol and medinol and she still didn't settle. She went down about 5, woke at 6 and has been up since 8 as if she's had a brill nights sleep. She is trying to drop her daytime nap but that's not happening. Sorry for being so self indulgent but she never sleeps through and last night was worse than usual.

tsc glad all went well. Can't wait to see pics. Did you get your wine last night?

trudy how come you don't want to go back to the hospital? (Nosey emoticon)

chulita I have a cheek to moan considering your mega shattered at the moment. Don't have a clue how to get L to poo in the loo. Could you maybe sit her there for a while a few times to see if she does it? Not easy with S about.

wss how's A's first day?

mlic your night sounds as bad as mine. I was wondering if it could be because of the mmr? R was inconsolable and had an episode yesterday where she was roasting.

MalibuStac · 01/08/2011 11:00

Sorry missed a couple.

memphis how you feeling? Poor L.

dh maybe you should shorten the naps, I know you need the break but maybe he would last longer in the morning if he wasn't napping during the day. Did you speak to dh?

Chulita · 01/08/2011 11:07

cake L usually wakes up around 6.30/7 but was up at 6 this morning. S won't go back to sleep either, he's wide awake. I've tried feeding, shush/pat etc but that's just his time to wake up :( I've not settled on a nap time (having only dropped his first nap yesterday) but I was thinking around 11.30/12. L goes down at 12 so that makes sense for them both to sleep so I can catch up on stuff.

mlic it's very, very dark in there but I've been eyeing up that travel gro-blind and I might just bite the bullet to eliminate the last traces of light in there.
L's not done a poo during the day since she started potty training but you're right, at some point she will.

dh I saw your post, not fun! I just don't know what else to do with S, at this age L was sleeping 13 hours a night plus 2 naps during the day. This boy is a comparative insomniac.

memphis poor L! They do topple over all the time at this age don't they? S fell on a Duplo truck the other day with two sticking up bits and had two very neat bleeding bruises about an inch apart on his head. They don't seem to mind too much though. He also sat on the sofa armrest and fell off backwards landing on his neck but got up fine Confused I crapped myself! I'm not feeling too bad today thanks, nearly fainted going round dunhelm mill but a chocolate croissant sorted me out (even though I nearly didn't make it through the queue Blush)

tsc well done for making it through the weekend! Any good granny stories? [digging for gossip emoticon]

trudyla birthing centres sound really good, I hope you can get in there.

stac that's an awful night :( you poor lady! Hopefully it is the mmr and she'll settle down. And moan away, I'm lucky at least in that usually S sleeps through the night, L wakes up but she's easy to settle (mostly)!
