I just read this poem and it made think of you all, i want to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart! Grin

Can I tell you a story?
About a little girl of mine,
You see she now lives in heaven,
But I think of her all the time,
I know I hardly know you,
But my friends have long since left,
Because when my little Angel died,
I was broken and so bereft,
So excuse me if I tell you,
How hard it has become,
To have close friends or colleagues,
Since I became an Angel mum,
So talking to a stranger is,
The best way to heal my pain,
To say her name out loud,
And remember her little face again,
You see although I?ll never see you,
Around these parts this town,
I know I can tell you my story,
You won?t question and you won?t frown,
You see it?s been quite long now,
Since my child she sadly died,
They think I should now be over it,
My tears should all have dried,
Yet some days I do so miss her,
I need to talk, need to feel,
To remember my sweet little daughter,
You see the memories help me to heal,
Thank you stranger for listening,
And for holding onto my hand,
Sometimes a stranger becomes a friend,
When they listen, they understand,
When you can turn to that stranger,
And say in turn now I want to know,
Tell me all about your little darling,
And how you remember them so,
I know how keeping their memory alive,
Comforts me, so give me your hand,
It?s now my turn to listen,
I promise you I do understand.

jane did you defrost it in the fridge? If so I can't think why it wouldn't be OK. If, however, you left it sitting in a warm room for hours to defrost I'd be a little more Hmm . I love the poem - it's beautiful where did you get it from?

janedoe25 · 12/07/2011 14:42

hmm, i defrosted it on the worktop fo about 4 hours then put it into the fridge. The poem is from a lady on the sands fb page.

debka · 12/07/2011 14:47

Wonderful poem jane

I think of Zoe often, like it says on the stats, she's one of 'our' babies and always a part of us.

40Weeks · 12/07/2011 15:00

What does POAS mean???

Delia my dad and his partner live in a little village between Barmouth and Harlech!

House smells yummy ad have just taken a batch of oatmeal and white choc cookies out of the oven. They are for Thomas' sports day tomorrow, hope they make it! Nom nom nom

Also some tears here, the poem is really lovely and I'm not that sentimental at all (honest). Thanks for sharing, jane and you know you are always one of 'us'. In a couple of years noone will know exactly how old all the kids are anyway :)
ledkr fromage frais sounds great, any left for us?! We are so close to 6 months now I really don't think it matters, especially as long as you aren't worried about allergies. We gave K a strawberry or two to gnaw on and then read they aren't good first foods. Doesn't seem to have done him any harm tho :o
uh-oh better go, think someone needs changing...

Emski76 · 12/07/2011 15:09

Just popping on quickly after lurking to say Jane, what a beautiful poem. I really hope we are a support to you, and you and Zoe are always in my thoughts.

40Weeks · 12/07/2011 15:09

Dammit phone didn't refresh til I posted, sorry Jane only just read the poem. Thank you for posting it here x

WeAreBorg · 12/07/2011 15:15

Jane that's lovely, thanks for putting that up. Will pop back later....

reastie · 12/07/2011 16:31

I heart mn to the max - just got in contact with someone living in same town as me who wants to get rid of all lots of baby/toddler clothes for free [eager] . Hoping to collect them tomorrow. hope it works out Grin . I shall keep you updated.

jane I'm assuming that you're scottish kitchen isn't in the tropics Wink so I would think it would be fine. `but don't sue me if it isn't Shock Wink

janedoe25 · 12/07/2011 16:38

Thanks reastie chicken for dinner tonight then!

tadjennyp · 12/07/2011 18:19

That poem is lovely Jane! Thank you. Will be back later, just need to ring ENT about Anna's allergic reaction to amoxycillin.

Tarlia · 12/07/2011 19:07

Jane that is a beautiful poem. We all want to hear about 'our' little angel Zoe, I hope you know you can talk to us about her any time you want.
I think the chicken will be fine too, I'd eat it and I'm huge on food hygiene and bacteria.

How is Anna, tad?

restie very nice! I hope it works out. Will you give her something for it anyway? Loving the sound of the water class, hope it's fun!

40 yum! If they don't like them, I do!

deb & 40 Z is doing exactally that! I think it might be sore gums and he is becoming much much more nosey aware and although hungry, too busy to eat.

So I go to the dentist today for my emergency appointment - him- yes yes you have an acute infection on the wisdom, I'm going to prescribe you antibiotics. Me -great thanks Him- I'm going to pull the good wisdom to stop the pressure. Me - um...ok. When? Him - today! Urrg, so now I have the awful infection and a huge hole, £120 worse off and can only eat liquid/very soft food. My pain relief.. paracetamol and ibuprofen arggg. Needless to say, I'm feeling sorry for myself.

Hope you've all had better days!

tadjennyp · 12/07/2011 19:17

Sorry about that tarlia - that's awful. Are the antibiotics compatible with bfing? A is doing ok-just lying in her sleeping bag watching the telly! S is also a pain with feeding at the moment, always pulling off and getting distracted. Really looking forward to him starting solids now....

chocoroo · 12/07/2011 19:21

Evening...not had time to post today due to buggy fit and Luther!

tad Hope all is ok with Anna...must be a bit scary!

Jane Enjoy your chicken dinner and thank you for sharing poem.

reastie and granny I hope we get a rock and roll theme soon at Baby Sensory. We had the water session a few weeks ago and R loved it. We all put our LO's in swimmers. She did splash everyone though so may not be too popular when we go back next week after their hols.

40 Cookies sound fab. I need to dust of my baking gear to make cupcakes for NCT meet up on Sat.

deb Did S eat any bread? R has really 'got' eating the last few days. She's after pretty much everything I eat!

led No flaming for Fromage Frais here. They're on my list of things to give R over the next couple of weeks and shes not five months til the weekend.

Delia Try not to panic over feeding. R messes about over at least two of her bottles now. She's put on less than a pound this month but I'm guessing she'll make up for it with Fromage Frais soon!

Byronic Give us a wave if you make it to canal boat - one of Birmingham's canals is just round the corner from us!

Gosh. Massive post. Sorry if I've missed anyone. We just took R to the park and put her on a swing for the first time. She loved it! Need to go make dinner now - roast veg and salmon. Bridesmaid day next week so need o be a size ten by then...

chocoroo · 12/07/2011 19:22

Sorry Tarlia x post. Tooth sounds nasty. Will a hot/cold pack to cheek help?

Emski76 · 12/07/2011 19:56

Tarlia, ouch to tooth. Hope it feels better soon.
Ledkr,I will be giving Fromage frais soon, it's yummy and good for them, in my opinion anyway!
Mesh feeders came today, Noah ate practically a whole banana in his. Lucky I stripped him off before hand as he was covered in sticky banana from his head to his nappy! Seemed to really enjoy it tho!
40, yum cookies. You have inspired me to make some this week!
Tad, hope Anna is ok. Ben had a nasty reaction to amoxicillin a while ok. He was covered head to foot in a terrible rash, the spots were huge. When we took him to triage I swear people backed away from us!
Always wondered what POAS means! Now I know!
Hope you all had goof days

wigglesrock · 12/07/2011 20:13

Hi, thanks ledkr and jane, yes July is shite here Grin. Mr W was off today, but back in tomorrow for the clean up!! Am a bit Angry anyway with his job, I go through this every 6 months or so, I silently seethe then boom!! He's done overtime all week, took a day off next week to give us a longer weekend, but has been called in to do a night shift in the middle of the time off which absolutely buggers two days up and we were supposed to go away next month for a weekend with friends and they've cancelled his leave Sad. I also have a panic about what to tell the girls what he does for a living, sick of hiding his uniform when its drying etc, tired of fibbing to new friends about what he does, but most of all I get a bit angry with him for putting us all in this situation, because he wanted to "follow his dream". I know I'm being irrational because he loves his job, he's feckin' brilliant at it, it provides for us in a way his old career never could have and will be great for us when girls get older. And breathe, big sorries for the rant, feel better now thanks xx

jane gorgeous, gorgeous poem, really appreciate you posting it, xx

ledkr Anna had fromage frais a few days ago and another one today. She loves it.

tarlia hope you start to get some relief from the pain. Mr W is a martyr to his teeth, especially a dodgy wisdom one Grin

suzym1984 · 12/07/2011 20:17

Hi everyone, well 2 KIT days down and I have survived! Not too bad actually and I enjoyed seeing all my collegues again!

tarlia ouch ouch ouch!!! poor you!

reastie let us know about the free goodies, I bet it feels like christmas Smile

jane what a lovely poem, it gave me goosebumps

Im glad that you are all enjoying the mesh feeders, told you they were a bugger to clean brill! Sometimes if H is fussing with his feeds I pop a few ice cubes of frozen breastmilk in for him to suck, at least it gets some milk into him!

Re: weaning, when can give a range of foods? and when do you start doing 3 meals a day and cutting milk? I know its not an immediate worry, but I like to know ALL the details! haha

Feel very tired after 2 days at work, luckily H has been happy with my mum so I havent had to worry about that!

Also, no further forward with the showhomes as its all getting a bit comlicated! shame, as I want a bigger house and I want it NOW

suzym1984 · 12/07/2011 20:19

wiggles cross post, what does your DH do? not sure how ive managed to miss that!

Oh, and what do we mean by fromage frais? those little pots....or something else?

debka · 12/07/2011 20:33

tarlia you poor thing at the dentist! Did it hurt having the tooth extracted?

All those with sick poorly babies, hope they're on the mend and giving you some sleep.

S is suddenly growing up it seems. She's really interested in everything now, tolerating a bit of food (grabbed Im's waffle this morning, THAT didn't go down well!), sitting up fairly well and seems to have grown- she's something to get hold of now, IYKWIM.

Anyone else's baby got a Mummy complex? If I hand Sabine to anyone else she looks at me with this desperate expression and just cries! I thought that didn't happen till a bit later?

janedoe25 · 12/07/2011 20:35

wiggles it sucks big time that you have to hide his job! My sil ex works for the army/police in the bit at the airport and is so secretive about it too, but needs must! His dad is a retired poice man and is still very nerous about things.

tarlia hope your mouth gets better soon x

suzy glad you survived the KIT days.
