ledkr I think its on Thursday evenings, I watch it on catch-up. Oh didn't like the hammer and 4x4 bit either on Luther.

chocoroo · 11/07/2011 22:24

Am too scared to watch next episode of Luther alone. Am also scared to answer door in case of Punch mask wearing mad heads.

Chocoroo = Massive wuss!

wigglesrock · 11/07/2011 22:34

hubbard86 Glad you had a nice day, yummy cake, great pics. Tom and Freya are gorgeous.

Oh meant to say Anna had some pureed carrot today, she was not a happy bunny when it was done Grin

chocoroo [knock knock]

ledkr · 11/07/2011 22:50

oh i just realised was the face licker on series one? And wiggles there are only 4 episodes on catch up that i can see.Im always a bit scared of maniacs,if dh does nights i usually invite a big ds to stay over,i bribe them with my cooking. Ouch,i got belly ache but not due on till friday.
Is anyone still getting night sweats since the birth?I know a few were,i wake up all sweaty it horrible.

janedoe25 · 12/07/2011 07:39

Hi girls,

debka glad to hear your mums chemo is over, hope she feels better for it. The cake looks fab!

hubbard Envy of the Michael mcintyre tickets! Your cake looks fab too!

wiggles i hope your dh stays safe at work just now, you must bloody hate this time of year!

For those of you who think weaning the babies now is too soon, a girl i know has started to wean her 7 week old baby Shock She gave him mince and potatoes! The best bit is the poor wee baby was also 5 weeks prem! Shock things like that make me so freaking angry!

Deliaskis · 12/07/2011 09:22

Hi ladies,

Good to hear everyone's updates. Angry at all the useless/adolescent DHs, and Grin for those babies that are sleeping and Sad for those that aren't.

After a week of 6am wake ups (occasionally going back down after dummy rung), C slept through to 6.45 this morning. Bliss! The difference between checking the clock and seeing it closer to 7 than 6 is ayyymaayyyzing.

C is doing fine with her bits of solids. She's had rice, porridge and a tiny bit of carrot, potato and banana. Am going to stick with just those things until 6 months now though, it is doing the job re making it easier to get milk in her. Her reflux seems to be improving as well so fingers crossed feeding is in general going to get easier. At least jane I didn't start at (age adjusted) two weeks! And not with meat and spuds...!

We're going away on Saturday to North Wales, so hoping we get a bit of sunshine. Hoping to see the HP film before we go but depends on level of organisation and also babysitter availability.

Have a nice week Smile

D

Grannyapple · 12/07/2011 09:24

Wow Jane I'm in utter [hshock] at that weaning!! I was just about to ask if anyone had started weaning yet & what the signs were to do so (or is it just instinct to start)?! Nate is 20wks this week so I guess I need to start thinking about it....he's growing up far too fast [hsad].

Thx for the hello's/welcome backs & good luck messages....completed the run in 63 mins on Sunday....was a bloody hot day too. Looking forward to not running for a while tho...

Well done on the swift prep/organising for the wedding Jane. sorry to hear of all the sodden useless dh's....I am now realising that me going back to work is gonna be a mission....I do all the tidying/cleaning/food shopping/cooking/gardening,as well as sort Nate out...gonna be interesting come November!!!

ledkr · 12/07/2011 09:47

jane just wow! Thats fairly abusive and the mince is dangerous for that age due to the high protien, she sounds like an idiot.
dilly just isnt interested at all,im not even bothering, its nice to go out fpr the day and only bother about milk.
wiggles is dh ok? Its escalating isnt it?
She slept till 7 too but im still tired.
Really hot and sticky here too,its driving me mad.

40Weeks · 12/07/2011 10:05

Jane omg at weaning at that age, and meat! No chance for the gut to get used to anything gentle. Poor bubba.

deb am so pleased for your mum that she has finished chemo. What a relief, it must be horrible

ledkr [hgrin] at "I know you're only 13 but..."

Lovely cake Hubbard what time shall I come over for a slice?

Delia where in n wales you going? My dad lives in n wales, although originally from Norn Irn [hsmile]

Oh bless ds2, he is pretending to feed his Teddy while i feed M. They are so spotty [hsad]

Talking of feeding, m is really messing about and making me really sore. He yanks around and it's really painful. Also crying on and off while feeding, not sure what the prob is. He is currently sitting on my lap tryig to get iPhone out of my hands!

granny I think signs include watching you eat, going less time between feeds as they get hungrier and maybe going back to night waking, or needing more milk to be satisfied

OP posts:
debka · 12/07/2011 10:29

40weeks I am with you on the weird feeding, S is doing that too, little bugger. She is NOT in my best books today, 2 feeds and a 5.30am wake up this am, although she went back off till 7.30 (I didn't). Then wouldn't go down for her nap, I got so cross and upset at her, it's not her fault but I think I was feeling pissed off anyway. I made DH give me a hug, had to force him but it made me feel a bit better.

jane Shock Shock Shock How does she even get the baby to swallow it??

Speaking of vile DHiness, mine cut his hair yesterday. He did sweep up the floor but the shower, sink and toilet Hmm are still covered in hair. Can't quite bring myself to clean it yet. When did my life come to this, cleaning up man-clippings? I used to travel and go out and speak Other Languages. Sad

40Weeks · 12/07/2011 10:32

deb Mikey is feeding at all hours too, you are not alone.

Why can't blokes clean up after themselves??? I blame their mothers...

byronicheroine · 12/07/2011 10:40

We are waiting for the pool to fill up so I thought I'd pop on and say hi!
We are heading to the south west mainly, Dorset and Devon are where my family are at, but I have friends in London to see and my dad has a narrow boat near Birmingham/Coventry so we might get up there. Debating about hiring a car as it would be so much easier. Mum has friends with babies and one has a bad pram habit and so we can borrow one of hers :o
40 sorry you are still confined, and agree with the fussy feeding, K will feed a bit then scream and arch his back crying - I know he's hungry and I'm fairly sure it's not wind as when he does feed he's like a hoover! Dunno what it is but it makes for interesting al fresco feeding
jane wow to the early weaning, that's crazy. I do wonder why people are in such a hurry, I mean you get 18-odd years of 'proper' food, why not stick with milk for a few months? Anyway.... hope the little one is alright, as the others are right and their digestive system isn't ready
Ok, pool looking good but K has passed out in his cot so might have to wait. Eating Dime bars from Ikea as I type!
Oh, and wiggles ? You can't have Idris AND Joshusa/Pacey - no fair! (Actually Joshua Jackson hasn't aged so well so you can have him and I'll just dream of the Dawson's Creek glory days. And, Jared Leto, yes, I saw a film with him in the other night, Mr Nobody. It was really good, quite weird and different but I liked it :) )

ledkr · 12/07/2011 11:23

well Dilly has just eaten some fromage frais,i think i should have waited till 6 months but she is so close and is so disinterested in milk now and feeding so often during the day i thought id try it.She loved it and no growling, its hot so i expect its refreshing.D feeds fussily, grunts arches back and growls, then another time wil be fine.
Dh's sweaty gym gear was on the floor all night so i put it into his work bag Grin i went to the shops with Dilly and when i got back it took me ages to get thru the door cos the cretin had left 2 pairs of his shoes on the mat so when i opened it they got wedged.I am flaberghasted, what is wrong with them.Deb id have to sprinkle a few of those clippings in his next meal, just a few to give me some satisfaction

reastie · 12/07/2011 11:44

deb and 40 alice being funny with feeding too [sigh] .

jane Shock Shock Shock

ledkr I laughed at you putting smelling gym gear in work bag

Well, I'm trying to do my good citizen thing of the day but turns out it's much harder work than expected - I found a purse on the road when going out today so picked it up so no one would steal it with the intention of contacting the owner or dropping it into police station. It has an address which is only a mile or so from me so went to drop it back but can't find the house on the adress anywhere Angry . Took it home to look up name in phone book but it is ex directory Confused . So now thinking I'll take another drive after lunch to try and hunt down this house again. All this for just trying to be helpful Hmm

baby sensory today but no funny stories as all quite sensible. The theme was rock and roll and the music and activities actually fitted well in with the theme for a change. The only Hmm bit was an activity where we got told to stand up and dance free style with our los to a rock and roll tune. Everyone looked really Blush and just sort of slow danced with their los not knowing what else to do. I [proud] did lots of jiggling and throwing of alice about the place making her giggle Grin [no shame]

janedoe25 · 12/07/2011 12:50

ledkr pgrin] at ahir clippings in dh dinner!

welldone granny!

I used to mind her older dd, whom she had started weaning at 8 weeks! The reason she gave for early weaning was the baby is draining his 5oz bottles, why not just up the bottle instead of shoving mince down your kids throat? God it makes me so angry!

Check you reastie rockin out!

Deliaskis · 12/07/2011 13:03

Well that'll teach me, after saying earlier how well feeding was going, just had a nightmare hour with C's 11am feed. Had about two thirds of her bottle and would have no more. Then screamed for the rest of the hour Sad. Having said that, she was weighed this morning and is doing well, so I suppose one bottle isn't the end of the world (hard to 'let go' though).

A bit Sad now as everything was going so well, but I know it's not the end of the world.

D

ledkr · 12/07/2011 13:15

Didnt get flamed for the from frais i see phew.
reastie that type of thing is my worst nightmare tbh,i used to take Ella to Monkey Music and there was a twee woman with a guitar,Els did love it but occasionally if the woman got over zealous Ells would look at me a bit Hmm she was only 2 as well!
Have Ellas brownie picnic tonight,im hoping it doesnt rain as in helping with Dilly.
Having a greedy pig day today, already over my points for ww,water for dinner then.

ledkr · 12/07/2011 13:17

Delias-i really wouldnt fret,a baby will never starve themselves, its prob the warm weather.

Grannyapple · 12/07/2011 13:40

Heh heh reastie I too am just back from baby sensory...can't remember what the theme was this week...we had rubber ducks to hide under a cardboard cone hat,the usual swirly things to swing about them while the babies lie there...& a puppet show which Nate loved...was sitting there rocking away & smiling to himself!

Is baby olympics next week...will be interesting to see how that one pans out Hmm

40Weeks · 12/07/2011 13:55

Ha ha have visions of Alice & Nate doing hurdles and shot put with a dummy

Well ledkr I thought you had to hold off with dairy til 6mo but figured you know what you're doing by now!

OP posts:
Deliaskis · 12/07/2011 13:59

Ledkr thanks, I know I have to chill the f* out about feeding, it's just we were worried about weight for the first few weeks and it's hard to get out of that mindset (even months down the line). I do know now though that one bad feed or even one bad day means absolutely nothing at all, as whenever this has happened in the past, by the next time, or at worst, the next day, she has been fine. Grrrr it does get me all uptight tho, I never thought feeding a baby would be this stressful.

And breathe...

I'm doing OK on the whole though, just had a nightmare hour this morning. But that's all it was, you know, an hour!

Deliaskis · 12/07/2011 14:01

40weeks my auntie has a caravan at Penrhyn near Llandudno. I was at uni in Bangor so it's my old stamping ground really, and I get to visit my uni pal whose DD is just two weeks younger than C. We normally go further on, down to Abersoch on the Lleyn, but couldn't look at gift horse in the mouth!

D

reastie · 12/07/2011 14:08

granny we have the water one next week - have been told to bring spare clothes as she will get wet apparently Shock Hmm . lol at baby olympics - I'm imagining babies racing each other with lots of pushy parents wanting their babies to win Wink

just done some clothes shopping online. I am dangerous with a credit card and intent to use it Wink

delia debs babies are weird phrase is what I have to keep repeating. I'm sure C will be fine without all her bottle for one feed.

ledkr these baby classes were a bit of my worst nghtmare pre alice but I just try my best and, tbh, it gets me out of the house and gives my life and much needed (for me) structure and routine. I'd like to see my DH take her to them though Grin - he would absoutely hate it Wink . I'm currently thinking of getting him to take alice swimming as baby swimming lessons are so expensive at the week end then I can sit in the caf with a cuppa for half an hour and it might exhaust alice enough to sleep well Grin

debka · 12/07/2011 14:10

delia yes by now I think babies know what they're doing. If Cass is anything like Bina she'll make up for it tonight Grin. I've had a pretty grim old morning of it too, what with THREE wake-ups last night, DH snoring and then shouting at me (in his sleep, to his defence), and then S refusing to sleep in her bed, queue much screaming. Tomorrow they'll be a day older and in 6 months everything will be 100% easier. Just think how far we've come already. :)

ledkr Sabine has had a taste of ice cream, lemon icing, bean soup (that was from Imy), strawberries, raspberries (not fussed), cream, banana and last night she grabbed a chunk of bread and rammed it in her mouth! Made me laugh because normally her hand eye coordination is laughable- she's really bad at it, but hand-mouth is second to none!

jane when do you get to POAS?

janedoe25 · 12/07/2011 14:23

reastie a quick foody question, i defrosted a chicken breast yesterday, is it ok to cook and eat today for dinner? It has been in the fridge.

debka not for ages, will leave it until last week of July if af stays away. Im really not thinking about it this month, i dont think i will be pg as DF was working away when i was ovulating.

ledkr nothing wrong with giving a dilly a fromage frais, bet she loved it!
