wiggles X post- why can't the girls know what Mr W does? And new friends? Is it because of the Troubles over there?

suzy when I weaned Imy she carried on having normal bfs for ages, just had some food when we did. We did Baby Led Weaning where you don't puree anything, just put food within their reach and they have as much or as little as they want. We started with fruit and cooked veg, but she was having anything she could hold, pretty much, by 6/7 months. She was down to 2 bfs a day by 12mo then gave up altogether at 13mo.

wigglesrock · 12/07/2011 20:39

suzym1984 He's in the CIA police Grin, but we're in NI, so less Luther more dodgy Jimmy Nesbitt Grin Glad you enjoyed your KIT days.

Its the little pots of fromage frais I give Anna, I get them for the other two, Sofia is great with her milk, cheese, yogurt consumption, Olivia not as bothered but I can usually get her to eat some fromage frais.

Meant to say Anna has become very fussy with her bottles, its like she can't be bothered/too easily distracted. Not that bothered at the minute, but Mr W noticed it today, but we're at my Mums for a big BBQ so think she was distracted by the sausages hugs and kisses.

wiggs i feel for you cos i get p'd off with dh job too and we dont have to hide it,it seems to be little pay for a lot of sacrifice if you ask me and thats before i go back to work and can never plan for childcare cos of his shifts.
jane i re read the poem,it realy explains why its been hard but positive for you to stick with us doesnt it?
suzy bless you doing your kit days,im going to do mine when my wages stop all together to help out,id like to be off untill Jan if i can afford it just because my job is so stressfull.
Delilah is saying "mummummum" Ella taught her,she also keeps shaking her head from side to side like a nutter, its so funny. She held court from a blanket at the brownies picnic all the little girls were captivated.

tadjennyp · 12/07/2011 21:09

Well done on the KIT days Suzy! Seeing your colleagues again must be great.
Ledkr and wiggs - it must be really stressful for you at times, especially when it involves a night shift. Come and rant to us whenever you need to, if it helps.
Thanks Emski and choco- she's doing not bad, had a cookie and a packet of chocolate buttons today!
Love hearing about all the baby sensory stuff and people's baking, yum yum!
Debka, Sammy seems to have a sixth sense about when I go out of the house. I feed him and put him down and dh says he wakes up as soon as he hears the garage door go and screams the whole time! He can't be hungry, I'm still feeding him 8-11 times a day Confused
I hope all the bedtime routines are going well!

Four4me · 12/07/2011 21:14

tarlia I so feel your pain. I've just finished a course of clindomycin as the amoxycillin simply didn't touch the infection after a tooth extraction. Poor poor you.

Jane lovely poem. You are an inspiration.

wiggles it must be so difficult. My sister lives in Belfast and she was over here this weekend and was telling me all about life there.

All good here. Boys break up next week. Archie is doing good. It is a bit of a boxing match now at feed time. He sort of slaps/punches at me when he is feeding! Oh and sounds like a gulping piggy at the same time. You would think he had never been fed before. There is no being discreet feeding him. But I'm so past being self conscious about feeding out and about after four of them! He is the most laid back of all four of them at this age and has the most lovely cackle when you tickle him! Bless.
They are growing so quickly.
My friend had her twins last week at 31 weeks they were 4 lb 13 and 3 lb 15. In scbu but doing well, hard to think they'll all be at school together when they are so much smaller than A now.

Sorry nothing more exciting to tell you yawn yawn. Just busy fitting in seeing people that I won't see when I have a tribe with me all summer! Oh had to go into school today to do a risk assessment of the new playground Thomas will be in in September! Otherwise know as Thomas proofing! I need to get out more!

40Weeks · 12/07/2011 21:17

tarlia you poor love, why the hell did he take the good tooth out, take the frickin hurty one out please?!?

wiggles how frustrating for you, I am not suprised it flares up it must be very stressful for you - what's his pretend job that you tell people? I guess it's always the same? Bugger about the night shift too

deb I know what you mean about mummy complex, he is ways looking at/for me and cries when I walk away. It's so cute, unless of course I am try to get the kids tea ready and tidy up etc.

Suzy I think everyone does it different with weaning but I always fry one food at a time for a couple of days to make sure they can tolerate it and then start mixing it up once I know they are ok with it. I don't think this is the anabel karmel does it though, but it works for us! I think the babies will let us know how many meals a day as they will let you know if they aren't getting enough!

tad how is Anna?

Invited the inlaws to Thomas' sports day tomorrow but mil is away so it will just be PIL. Wish I had kept my mouth shut now

Four4me · 12/07/2011 21:18

X-posted Tad not envious of 8-11 feeds a day. He must be a boob monster! Archie only has 4/5! They are all so different! At least you get to sit down and mn or watch telly! Hope your patient is doing well? Grin

40Weeks · 12/07/2011 21:24

I meant "try" not "fry" I do NOT fry weaning foods!

Although I like the sound of blw debka might give it a go

wigglesrock · 12/07/2011 21:26

Four4me was thinking about you and your tooth when reading about Tarlia Grin, glad you got medication sorted out. I'm immune to some different types of penicillin so I usually have to have two or three different ones to try. Hope Thomas sports day is fab, maybe fil could do the parents / grandparents race Grin

ledkr am convinced Anna cried "Mummmeee", when I took her carrot away earlier Grin

40Weeks I think we settled on he works in Customs Hmm, it seemed a good idea for when he has to go to Court. Of course since he started he's met about 5 people he went to school with who also joined, a bit like the lunatics taking over the asylum Grin

40Weeks I am snickering at you "frying one food at a time" Grin Grin

reastie · 12/07/2011 21:41

Grin to 40 frying one food at a time for weaning - mikey on deep fried baby rice then?! Wink

jane how was the chicken?

44me archie only 4 feeds a day Envy i see why you expressed alot now Grin we are nearer tad with about 7/8 a day at the minute

I'm so excited about picking up these free clothes tomorrow Grin . only drawback is they are boys clothes Hmm but stick a pink cardi with them and I'm sure alice will look great Hmm . Will give the most boyish ones to friends with dss.

wiggles I didn't realise the girls couldn't know re: mr w. I was trying to think of what job you could pretend he did if they saw the outfit but all I could think was a stripper Shock . Maybe not the best idea.

Started watching the killing on 4od. Only half way through but it looks good.

deb we have mummy complex here too - any time she's on anyone elses lap she just stares at me with big unhappy eyes.

Does anyone elses baby always smile at random things you say? alice is obsessed with the word 'bob'. say anything that sounds similar to bob but isn't bob to her and you might get an interested look but say 'bobbobbobbobbobobobob' and she will always smile. And this has been going on for a couple of months.

tarlia I can recommend arnica tablets to take to help the bruising as the teeth recover. I took them when I had all my wisdom teeth out and barely got any bruising at all. Shock at lack of pain killers. Think I have some prescription strength painkillers they gave me at the hospital after csec I didn't take that are on standby just incase

reastie · 12/07/2011 21:43

wiggles xposted. Yes, customs far better than stripper Grin

40Weeks · 12/07/2011 21:43

It's my Thomas' sports day - fil has COPD (emphasema - sp?) so unless there is a wheezathon or a talkathon I can't see him taking part. His last piece of advice to Thomas for sports day was to hold the egg with his thumb! Git

wigglesrock · 12/07/2011 21:52

40Weeks sorry meant to post further down the paragraph, well my mum had Sofia practicing with a potato and spoon before her sports day Hmm, the two of them are quite competitive!! Well my mum would be competitive with a paper bag, I'm quite a disappointment to her Grin Liv and I mostly cheer from the sidelines when not distracted by lollies!!

reastie The Killing is fabarooni, loved it. Anna will go to anyone, she's quite shameless but I get extra special snuggles into my chest and gummy grins when she comes back.

reastie · 12/07/2011 21:52

just saw online some lady in america gave birth to a 16lb baby Shock - alice is less than 14lbs NOW Shock . Could you imagine it

40 think fil might be out of luck in there being a wheezathon Wink

Grannyapple · 12/07/2011 22:01

Hi folks...just been on amazon & ordered a load of weaning pots...planning to do a bit of pureeing & BLW. Need to get a highchair & as u lot are all knowing thought i'd ask for suggestions? Had a look at the reviews on here also...but still unsure Hmm. thinking about an Ikea one but also quite fancy one that can fold away?? Answers on a postcard please!!

ledkr · 12/07/2011 22:42

D was naughty for dh at bedtime and screamed blue murder everytime he put her down,i came up to help and he had just picked her up,she saw me and was all excited,it was like she was thinking "phew its her,she doesnt do cruel things to me like him" her bottom lip went when i plonked her in her cot but she didnt bother crying, they are so knowing arent they?

Grannyapple · 12/07/2011 23:08

Aw ledkr... D sounds soo cute & sweet...tho bet ur dh was cursing her Smile

40Weeks · 13/07/2011 07:32

Ha ha Dilly is playing her daddy up already! Excellent.

Hope you all had a good night. Mine wasn't as bad as some have been so at least I dont feel like death this morning. Am running a book on what time FIL turns up, I told him 10.30 at preschool but no doubt he is bored without mil and will turn up in 15mins.

Talking of running a book.....aside from our jane who will be first off the list to fall preggers again??

OP posts:
reastie · 13/07/2011 08:09

40 you mean I can't bet on jane ? Hmm I'll have to think on that one then.

granny can't help re: high chairs afraid as mine isn't foldable.

Tarlia · 13/07/2011 08:27

Good morning! Thank you for all the wishes! Feeling worse this morning now the injections have worn off totally. No stronger pain relief, restie, they give paracetamol here after labour and even then they don't want to give it! They couldn't take the bad one until infection is gone 40, he is hoping it'll now have space to grow. AntiB's are breastfeeding compatible.

40 hope Thomas had fun at sports day and FIL isn't a pain in the bum.

Awww, ledkr bless Dilly, so cute.

wiggles so tough about DH job, I guess it's such a huge secret to keep, but at least it means you're safe. What do you tell people?

granny no idea about high chairs, sorry. I have used the ikea one in the past though and love hoe easy it is to clean. I think we are going for a Trip Trapp, but I'm not liking the price tag!

44me I'm so jealous too! Z is a little boob monster and likes to snack. He has started head butting and licking/feeding through my clothes, arrg.

suzy I'm glad your kits went well.

ILovePonyo · 13/07/2011 08:28

Morning all, apart from a few dummy runs dd slept til 7.30 yay! She was awake when I went in and did an excited squeal and big smile, loved it :)

Grin at Dilly ledkr, just goes to show who she's most used to at bedtime, did your dh comment on it?

granny I',m just planning on getting cheapo ikea highchair, don't think its foldable though?

40 I am going to say reastie for next one pg again - I bet I'm not the only one! Grin

jane loved that poem, blubbed a bit when I read it. Thanks for sharing it, you write poetry too don't you?

suzy well done with the KIT days, I am not looking forward to having to do any but work havn't been in touch yet and I'm not ringing them! I don't know much about weaning but dd has had some grape in her mesh feeder thingy and seems to like it.

Hi everyone else, I have been reading just not posting although I bet I only missed a day or something Grin Am off to get dd weighed today, very exciting I know.
Oh and have any other ff's moved onto size 3 teats yet? I got some yest and think it made her morning bottle quicker.

ILovePonyo · 13/07/2011 08:30

Hi tarlia, meant to say sorry about the tooth - paracetemol Confused Hope you get the bad one out soon? xx

Tarlia · 13/07/2011 08:31

40 funny, I was wondering the other day if anyone will announce a pregnancy as we are at that stage for those who want close age gaps, most certainly will not be me. My friend who has a baby Feb baby has been talking about a 2nd since 8ish weeks! They will be starting in august! Shock

Anyone going to admit to TTC??

reastie · 13/07/2011 08:32

tarlia sounds like you might have what I had re: wisdom teeth - the wisdom teeth were trying to come out but there was no space so it kept causing infections. I had mine out with local and general anaesthetic so Shock and [poor you] . Can you take codeine when bfing? i was given paracodol post csec which I took for a couple of weeks and was bfing Hmm
