Hi Tink

Nope, he couldn't cope and the Mum had to bring him home at 1.00 am. Sad He's been in a right state ever since. We were supposed to be decorating dd's bedroom this weekend, but had to cancel sending the dcs to my Mums so that we could have as calm, quiet and normal weekend as possible for him.

Keeping him off tomorrow morning anyway, as we think he's developing asthma, he gets seriously wheezy and unable to breathe every evening and even worse at night. Dh developed asthma as a young teen, so it seems he might be following suit.

Lost one of our dogs today (the old girl) - I was beside myself. She got through our neighbour's broken fence (that we've been asking repeatedly for them to fix for nearly a year) and then straight into the park because they don't have decent fencing at the end of their garden either. Angry I was running around with a torch in the pitch dark in the park calling her (she's deaf and black, so it wasn't an easy task) and couldn't find her anywhere. Eventually had to give up and come home, called the out of hours dog warden service and thank God, someone local had found her and taken her in. They found her right behind our house, but she hadn't got a collar on because of her neck op earlier this year, so they didn't know. They also thought she was injured because she has a limp, and were gobsmacked when I told her how old she was because she's so active and playful.

Anyway, all's well that ends well, she had a lovely time playing with their own dog and three children and dh went round and picked her up straight away. I have sent the family a big box of mail order muffins to say thank you.

The Betterware thing sounds stressful and annoying Tink. How inconsiderate of her not to let you know she'd left and given you a new contact. Hope you can get it all sorted quickly.

GotArt · 13/11/2011 22:21

Sorry to hear about your old girl moose. Sad

GotArt · 13/11/2011 22:23

... not thinking... posted and didn't finish thought. lol. Anyhow, glad though that she didn't get far and was returned safe... quite a little adventure I'm sure. Nice of you to send the family some muffins. Grin Very thoughtful.

moosemama · 13/11/2011 22:28

Thanks GA. I'm just relieved we got her back. Cheeky pup was happy as larry at her rescuers' house though!

We were so lucky to get her back, especially without her collar. She is microchipped, so I'd hope that would help get her back to us. It also helps livingin in area where there just aren't any stray dogs really, everyone knows that if they see a dog out on its own its because its escaped or been lost somehow. There's also a lot of dog lovers round here, which I suppose means a greater chance of someone taking her in and doing the right thing.

I am so mad at my blooming neighbour though. Angry Nine times out of ten he leaves his back gate open, so there's a real chance she could get through the fence then out onto the road that way. We've done our best to wedge the fencing in place from our side, but it just keeps coming down again and after spending £4,000 getting the other side and end of the garden fenced, there's just no way we can afford to do the side he is legally responsible for as well.

She doesn't usually try to get out, but has been really spooked by all the fireworks over the past couple of weeks and has been really nervy and jumpy at any bangs, even doors closing in the wind. I reckon she probably heard something that scared her and bolted.

moosemama · 13/11/2011 22:29

Lol, yes thanks again! Grin

How are you and your family doing? Bet you're all ready for Christmas by now aren't you?

warmandcosyhellokitty · 14/11/2011 20:56

hi mm - bless her so glad you got her back Grin yah to muffins Grin
poor ds !!
hope he is better now

finally had boss from betteware come around
all sorted now Grin
has taken orders etc Grin

moosemama · 14/11/2011 21:18

Glad all the Betterware stuff got sorted Tink.

The ds1 saga continues. He has been having some wheezy, chesty stuff going on at night for the past few weeks, then last night had what appeared to be a full blown asthma attack. Took him to the GPs and found out he has a chest infection, but they also think he could be developing asthma. So, he's on anti-biotics plus an inhibitor inhaler and has to go back in a month for asthma/spirometer testing. Poor kid, its just one thing after another for him recently. Sad

Dh had the day off today, so we've been to Ikea and bought him a new mattress and pillows hoping it will help his chest. He's needed a new one for a little while anyway as a ds1 shaped dip had appeared in the middle of his old one, despite it only being about 18 months old.

Also chose some Pax wardrobes for our bedroom and am ridiculously excited about finally having some decent storage in there. Grin

warmandcosyhellokitty · 15/11/2011 16:52

hi mm Grin

poor ds1 Sad he does get it all!!
hopefully mattress will help

and yah too ikea and storage for u

we dont have alot of storage either!!

GotArt · 19/11/2011 14:28

moose I need some of those closet organization shelves. I just don't seem to have enough.

Nothing much over here. Two weeks left of school and then winter break. I got the posting for next semester too, so that's a relief. The students did my prof review yesterday, but I'm not worried... they tell me its their favorite class and they love me. lol Two are going to rearrange their schedule just to take my class. How flattering. Grin

Been getting up at 5 to feed Pips then I just get up after... no point fighting trying to get another hour in. I get some coffee and putter mostly on facebook. Oh... DD1 is up.. must head off.. Phew! Turned bedside lamp on and gave her a book. She loves that.

Hope you all had a grand Saturday.

Oh...she's up... no, she just went to the potty and back to bed... do I have the best toddler or what. Grin Wink

Hello all

Hi painterly and congratulations.

Pleased to hear the Betterware is still going well for you Tink.

Very quiet on here these days.

Things have been daftly busy in the Moose household. Ds1 has a double chest infection and the docs think he's developed asthma, so he had to be raced into the surgery to be nebulised last week. Ds1 had a head injury in the playground and couldn't eat, drink or speak for a couple of days I had a stomach bug, swiftly follwed by a horrible coldey virus thing back to back with it, so spent all day yesterday in bed and all this morning curled up on the sofa feeling sorry for myself.

In other news, ds1's request for Statutory Assessment has finally gone into the Local Authority and they've given us 2 January for their deadline to let us know whether or not they're going to assess. I'm assuming it'll be a no in the first instance - so that'll be a lovely start to the new year then. Grin

Still, this time last year he didn't even have a diagnosis and things have improved so much for him with this year's fantastic teacher that I can't complain really. If they refuse, I will just reapply. There's no way he could manage secondary school without a statement.

warmandcosyhellokitty · 28/11/2011 12:09

hi mm - it has been very quiet !!!

sorry for all illness poor ds's and you nasty

good news about sa :)

i have opened a very.co.uk account and ordered £200 worth of stuff is buy now pay in 12 months have ordered dd2 some more bday pressies and a camera for me
feel abit naughty doing it

moosemama · 28/11/2011 12:43

Thanks Tink. I think I jinxed myself by commenting how none of us had had any of the usual school-related bugs this term - regretted it almost as soon as I'd said it. Hmm

You are working hard and earning your own money now. You shouldn't be worrying about spending it. Smile

I haven't even started thinking about dd's birthday presents yet. I still have people nagging about what to get her for Christmas. Have done all our dc's christmas shopping, but dh and I aren't sure whether to buy or make gifts for friends and family. Neither one seems like the easy option at the moment.

I have been planning dd's cake though. She wants a Ben and Holly castle, complete with Ben, Holly and Gaston! Shock I will make the cake, but think I might buy some figures to put on it rather than stress myself out trying to make sugarcraft models.

warmandcosyhellokitty · 28/11/2011 15:44

thanks mm about accnt Grin

cake sounds gd

re money using some of betteware then planning on using girls xmas money and dds bday money too

stripey's DP here to report arrival of DD2 at 1.08pm today - another unmedicated labour, all well. 7lbs 8oz, lots of black hair. Scrummy. Name still in negotiation - but will be Iseult Anastasia, just a question of in what order. Thought you'd all like to know.

hackneyzoo · 04/12/2011 20:50

Well done Stripey and Rhetorician - she's beautiful!

Keep thinking how lovely it would be to have a dc3.... but don't think I could survive another little monkey!Grin

how are you all - I seem to do more on facebook lately so am really confused by who everyone is as some of you have namechanged Confused

GotArt · 07/12/2011 02:16

Congratulations again stripey and rhetorician Babes is gorgeous. Saw FB pics too.

I wouldn't be able to survive a third either... DH will be fixed on January 11th! Yeah!

Sparkle I seem to be on facebook more than here too these days and am getting a little confused by name changes. Grin

Term is finished. Just have to enter my marks and type up reviews now. Went for a pint with my students after crits as well... fun. lol I left after one; they stayed on and got hammered. 5 of them have signed up for the next semester... so flattered.

DD1's birthday is Friday but we are celebrating Thursday to separate her day from Xmas party day. We aren't doing any party, just a play date. We are getting her a Corelle doll and Santa will be bringing accoutrements. Grin
