is hardwork

she is enjoying year 2 at school Grin

dd2 is such a sweetie Grin
has been potty training this week is amazing does all wees on toilet

congrats again Grin

i got pregnant with bracken when stopping pill for 3 mnths

moosemama · 09/10/2011 22:02

Ray, things are ok at the moment thanks. Ds1 is 9 now and ds2 is 7, so I don't have any dcs in infant school anymore! Shock No nativity for us this year. Sad

Dd is doing really well. Potty training has been a bit hit and miss (if you'll excuse the pun Grin). We nearly had it down pat, then she caught a fluey virus of ds1 and we're back to nappies again. Hmm Intending to give it a fortnight and try again.

I have been working hard at trying to lose weight and get fit since June. Have lost 35lbs - at last measure - 16 inches across my body and have gone down two dress sizes and am still shrinking at the moment. Grin

How are things with you - are you still selling your hairslides etc. How's it all going?

tinkbig · 10/10/2011 11:06

hi mm Grin

wow you have done well losing weight Grin

bless dd

have been potty training dd2 this week she is an absoloute star
takes herself to loo for poos and wees

moosemama · 10/10/2011 14:52

Can you send your dd round to show mine the ropes please Tink. Grin What a clever girl! Smile

tinkbig · 10/10/2011 16:18

mm - we r so lucky she is such a sweetie with everything

GotArt · 12/10/2011 05:28

Hellos to everyone! Grin Sorry, been off MN for a while. Its always being serviced at the time I get to sit down and piss about.

moose Sorry about MRI coming up and DS's teacher retiring. HipHipHooray to the inches lost! That is so inspiring. I've completely fallen off the wagon and the only exercise I'm getting right now is from the couch to the cookie jar. lol Grin

rray Yeah!!! Congratulations!

I thought I'd missed the terrible twos but DD1 seems to have caught on. My goodness, it makes me stark raving mad. Grin Its not anything in particular, but everything. ??? She is nice as pie one minute, screaming down the place the next cause she can't watch Max and Ruby.

We've had to put DD2 on formula. Not so happy about it. I was pumping but then I just couldn't pump enough to store for my work days. I could only manage 4 ounces a day, so one feeding, enough to cover me going to the gym, or grocery shopping by myself. Its been really hard coming to terms with it all over the last few weeks. She took to it like it was no different, so for her, the transition was fine. Me, I logically know its not such a big deal, but emotionally, I struggle with thoughts of guilt of not being able to provide enough to feed my baby. She feeds at night and snacks through the day, just gets her main meals from the formula. She has really shot up in size though. It has enabled me a bit more 'freedom' in that DH can feed her, which he loves cause he never got to do with DD1... she never took bottle. She went on a sippy cup at 5 months.

So amazing how utterly different siblings are.

Rrrrayray · 12/10/2011 08:42

Moose - wow. Go girl with the weight loss. Thats amazing. Yes, still doing the little hair clips. Ticking over nicely.

Potty training - we did esme back in April and she was a walk in the park. But..... When we went to america in July she got terribly blocked up and ended up having an enema poor baby, anyway since then insists on doing poos in nappy & saves them until night nappy. Wees still no problem.

Go arty - oh no..... There was me Thinking we had escaped terrible twos too, but perhaps esme is saving them until I'm
Heavily pregnant! Joy! Hmm

hellokittyruleswastink · 12/10/2011 09:00

hi ladies Grin

moosemama · 12/10/2011 09:42

Tough choice Tink.

Dd loves her Happyland Faries toadstool house and car, so I would have said that, but we've just bought her this doll's house for Christmas, because she's playing happily with her brothers' old Pin Toys fire engine and firemen (she's a huge Fireman Sam fan at the moment), which are very similar in style to the Rosebud stuff from ELC.

We're going to buy some prettier bits and bobs to dress up the rather plain sets that we bought with it from Asda though.

I think she'd love either, so pick the one you'd most like to play with yourself! Wink

hellokittyruleswastink · 12/10/2011 10:10

thanks mm

moosemama · 12/10/2011 10:54

Lol, well I wasn't much help really! Grin

IdjustassoonkissaZombie · 13/10/2011 10:01

DS is a complete handful so I'm a little [henvy] of you lot [hgrin]

I'm still in denial about potty training DS. Please can I have your top tips as I winged it somewhat with DD. I know I ought to get on with it. Half term might be a good time with being at home lots perhaps.

It is Tea here btw [hsmile]

IdjustassoonkissaZombie · 13/10/2011 10:02

GA I felt guilty both times when I introduced formula. But if she's still feeding from you at night and for snacks then she's getting loads of goodness still x

stripeywoollenhat · 13/10/2011 14:31

hello - rrray, congratulations! june a nice time of year for it, you won't have to do heavily pregnant in the summer, and you'll be able to take him/her out without worrying about artic conditions...

Envy at those with potty trained, non-terrible two year olds. c is being an absolute nightmare at the moment, everything is 'no' followed by a screaming fit, doing anything with her - i mean things like going downstairs, nothing fancy - takes ages. frustration levels very high. we are getting there gradually with the potty training, though when she kicks off she nearly always wets herself, she is so overcome. but i'm sure it'll all calm down soon, i keep telling myself, as well as 'it's normal, it's normal'....

tink, i hope you're getting good support to help with dd1's dyspraxia
moose, cool re weight loss. hoping to see my feet again one day is as close as i'm going to get for the time being...
ga - better for dd2 to have some formula and for you to be getting on with things, i think. i suspect something similar will have to happen with us, as i had no joy with expressing last time out... and nice for your dp.

all fine here, apart from the discomforts of pregnancy and c's regular excursions to the dark side... think this 'un's got longer legs, feet in liver seem to have arrived earlier Grin but all good. am very busy with ma - bloody people seem to expect me to do actual work, unspeakable cheek of them.... speaking of which, best get back to it.

hellokittyruleswastink · 13/10/2011 17:37

hi stripey good to hear from you Grin

sorry for cs moodyness bracken can be very moody 2!!

glad all well

re dyspraxia school r being great

moosemama · 13/10/2011 19:36

Hi Stripey

If it helps, dd is also being a nightmare at the moment - her favourite words being 'no' and 'why' - and she has the most evil high-pitched scream that is used liberally when asked to do something or she doesn't get her own way. There is just no reasoning with her sometimes these days - so very different than her brothers were at this age, neither of them went through the terrible twos, or terrible anythings really - well at least not until ds1 got a lot older. Hmm

Good to hear all is well with you and your MA is going well.

missjackson · 13/10/2011 19:50

Congratulations ray, that's fantastic news. Nice civilised gap too! Will you find out boy/girl? I bet E will be very helpful and sweet with a little one - C too - I think that's probably one major advantage of having a girl first! N is mostly nice to DD, but generally just not really that interested, or too rough.

stripey we have terrible tantrums too; everything takes forever and the most everyday action such as turning a light on can be fraught with danger... we live in fear! N likes to do everything for himself, everything first, and everything properly. It's exhausting! On the upside, he has just potty-trained himself without an accident - we tried twice before with no joy, he just didn't get it - and then during that little happy heatwave a couple of weeks ago, he just asked for pants and got on with it. Amazed.

Waves to everyone.

IdjustassoonkissaZombie · 13/10/2011 21:01

DD asked to go to bed in knickers tonight at 7pm. I sent her off for a wee and put a towel under her sheet just in case. Checked her at 8.30pm and she already had a sodden bed Sad She didn't drink much before bed either. This is what happens everytime I try her in knickers. Tonight I was going to sit her on the loo at 9pm and see if she did something in her sleep. As last time I tried knickers and checked her at 10pm she was already wet. So what am I missing here? She's 4.3 years now and does still dampen her knickers in the day and then dash to the loo. I think she just hangs on too long as she doesn't want to stop what she's doing. But generally she's not too bad in the day at all.

Btw MissJ I cannot believe how well things went with N on potty training Envy Wink Wish DS would be like that, but I suspect not.

IdjustassoonkissaZombie · 13/10/2011 21:06

Actually I copied my post here and put it into potty training as some ideas would be good from the mumsnet collective brain Grin as well as you fabulous ladies of course.
