Oh I cheat on ebay. I use auctionstealer, put the item no in and the max I'd pay and let it put a last minute bid in for me. I usually win Blush Naughty me Blush

Ooo auctionstealer - how do I do that? I'm always getting sniped in the last couple of seconds - perhaps its about time I fought back! Grin

Tink, I like the grey snowboots best as well. I love Kickers as well, but the price! Shock Dd had a lovely pair of Kicker Tbar shoes last winter - got them BNWT, in the box and everything from £13 off ebay. Grin

I'm here Tink, currently lying on the sofa recovering from starting level 3 of the dreaded shred. Did day 1 yesterday and day 2 today and - oh my poor thighs! Blush

Haven't done much this weekend, as we're all knackered after a stupidly busy and stressful last week.

Hoping this week will be calmer, although ds1 has been having night terrors, sleep walking and talking episodes and is back to both vocal and facial tic-ing, so its not looking hopeful. He found out this week that his beloved best friend is taking the 11+ to get into Grammar school. He wasn't worried at first, because he didn't know what grammar school was and asked me if it was similar to sunday school. Then I had to explain it to him and also tell him that he would be unlikely to pass the exam due to the non-verbal reasoning element of the 11+. Its the first time I've had to tell him he couldn't do something because of his autism - tough conversation that one. Sad

On a more positive note, both of my boys were 'Stars of the Week' on Friday, so dd and I went to assembly to see them get their certificates. Ds1 got his for settling in so well and having an excellent attitude to learning and ds2 got his for a great piece of literacy classwork. Both were proud as punch to have dd and I there in assembly and dd did me proud by sitting next to me beaming away and clapping loudly for every child that was presented with a certificate. She was so good that lots of people commented on what an angel she is - needless to say, I was massively proud of all three of my dcs. Grin

hope u have recovered mm from 30 day shred

i am not going to carry on as get lots of exercise doing betteware Grin

did food shop with dd2 yest

this morning popped to tesco andpicked up bettewarebks

moosemama · 27/09/2011 11:38

Thanks Tink, my legs are feeling much better today. Did a 4 mile walk yesterday morning (uphill on the way back with dd and a load of really heavy shopping in the pushchair) and level 3 in the afternoon and it seems to have loosened my poor old cramped muscles a bit.

Got ds1 home poorly with a fluey type bug today. He's in a foul mood, because he's going to miss his beloved ICT lesson. I fear we're in for much of the same tomorrow, because he's going to miss a special art lesson he was looking forward to. Wouldn't mind, but he usually hates art. This week though, they're using Indian Ink and we've been warned it stains whatever it touches - so maybe its no bad thing that ds won't be there. Grin

Hi Tink

I have had my haircut today for the first time in months.

It was down an inch or so below my bra-band, but getting very straggly and had some split ends.

Had it layered and textured at the back, so its all nice a swishy again and is now just touching the top of my bra-band, but looks so much healthier. I might even start wearing it down occasionally now. Grin

I think this may possibly be the first time I've ever had my hair cut and liked it straight away.

tinkbig · 29/09/2011 09:18

mm - Grin at hair

quick brag; got all my Xmas gift preserves done: blackberry jam, spiced blackberry-apple jam, (both with wild berries DD1 and I picked 5 minutes from our house), Seville orange marmalade, Branston pickle, corn relish and some pickles, although those are for us... mostly DD1. She loves pickles. lol

moose Its so nice when you get a kick ass haircut and love it!

IdjustassoonkissaWookiee · 02/10/2011 08:11

Oooo yum GA Envy

tinkbig · 02/10/2011 11:08

Hi ladies having good weekend in hulli

moosemama · 02/10/2011 12:28

Hi all

Tea, love the name change! Grin

GA am very Envy. I was just mulling over what we're going to do this year. Three months left and I want to be super organised, so I can have a nice relaxing run up to Christmas and have time to invite a few people round etc.

I had thought about Christmas Cupcakes, but that would mean leaving the baking until really late or at the earliest a month before and freezing. Pickles and jam are a great idea. Our Cranberry and Ginger Chutney went down a storm last year.

I might peruse some websites for ideas today whilst I'm stuck here. Am having a temporary CFS relapse after being bullied into going to our best friends birthday party on Friday night.

I only had one G&T (slimline of course) then stuck with water for the rest of the night and made sure I sat in the quietest room and kept things low key. Unfortunately it was a long way away and the ds1 and dd were ill, so no overnight babysitter meant we got home at 3.00 am! Spent all day yesterday lying on the sofa and today is looking much the same. Sad Seriously hoping its only going to be a minor setback, although the timing wouldn't be all bad, as I have my neurology appointment on Thursday.

Good to hear you are having a good weekend Tink. Smile

moosemama · 07/10/2011 16:04

Blimey, I thought I'd been neglecting the thread - where is everyone?

We have ds2's best friend round to tea this evening and he just walked in and said something that I instantly thought I wanted to share with you lot ... and there's no-one around. Sad

Basically, he recently moved into a huge house on a gated development backing onto a beautiful orchard - just across the road from our house. Ds2 went there for tea a few weeks ago, but they'd just moved in, so still had boxes everywhere and anyway they played outside in the gated close with all the other children.

So, today this lovely little lad walks into my living room and says "Is this your little sisters' playroom? Where's your playroom then?" Shock and that's after he'd already seen their bedroom, which is stacked to the rafters with toys and the biggest bedroom in the house.

I spent all day spring cleaning today and did a thorough spring clean on their bedroom yesterday to make sure I'd done everything in my power for them not to get teased about our house (as I was when I lived here as a child) and then its the size - or rather the lack of it - that has him open mouthed. He looked less than impressed with our half decorated downstairs (read only) loo as well. Sad

Suppose I'm having a bad day. Just found out this afternoon that ds2's teacher is retiring at half term. He has settled so well with this guy and absolutely idolises him. The lady they are going to have is lovely, but she is NQT - well 1 year teaching - compared to this guys' 30 years of teaching and of course ds2 is at the age where boys love a male role-model. I have never known him click with a teacher so quickly and his confident has come on in leaps and bounds in just the few weeks they've had him for. Sad

Also went to see the neurologist yesterday and have been booked in for a brain, neck and spine MRI in November. I seriously hate MRIs. Harrumph!

Come on - somebody come and cheer me up with some of their good news!

tinkbig · 07/10/2011 20:21

mm - poor you

re ds's friend he obviously thinks that all houses r like his [hmmm]

sad about teacher leaving !!

MRIS look horrible
hopefully you will get an answer

we have been ill here!!

i had runs wed like water and still got cough plus was sick 2

then hubby was sick wed night

better now

had gd week otherwise

IdjustassoonkissaWookiee · 07/10/2011 20:42

Ahhh Moose Sad I never had a play room when growing up. I had 4 brothers and a very chaotic house. Bless you for trying to tidy up so much before he came. You sound like such a lovely mum. So sorry to hear the teacher is leaving too Sad Not to mention the MRI but I hope you get the answer you need from the results.

No massive news here, DD's picture of her first day of school is in this weeks Watford Observer, I need to buy it asap! Everything just ticking along really. Bank account looking horrid after my poorly cars bill. But not particularly unusual for me to struggle financially Grin I fly by the seat of my pants as ever.

moosemama · 07/10/2011 21:01

Oh Tink, sorry to hear you have been poorly. There's a few v&d bugs going around here, but we copped for the fluey bug instead. Ds1 was really ill, dd less so, but for longer and dh and I just had a bit of a coldy thing going on. Ds2 managed to avoid the lot.

Thanks Tea. The boys don't think I'm a lovely mummy, they think I'm a big blue meanie for making them help me sort their room out yesterday!

Forgot to say, ds1 saw the paed on Tuesday, as a follow up to some recent tests for his weightloss and digestive issues. The paed went back through previous test results, including the blood test results the GP had taken in late June and found three anomalous results, despite us being told at the time that they were all normal. Hmm Paed still has no clue what's up and we are waiting on his enzyme test results to try and make some sense of it.
