Lol dinky I started one earlier too! I'll ask for it to be deleted so as not to cause confusion

MarkStretch · 21/06/2011 14:03

In my excitement at finding you all I have just knocked a whole cup of tea over the carpet. Can't even blame the toddler, he's not here, he's having a play at my MIL's.

I took him to look round a playgroup this morning with a view to starting in September, he absolutely LOVED it. He cried all the way home when we had to leave. It's only a little local one about 5 mins from my house but one of the women who works there has a DS in DD's class and she is lovely and the playgroup had a lovely homely feel to it so I put him down for Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting 13th Sept. I feel like he is more than ready for some social interaction and playing fun away from me just a couple of times a week.

12 week scan on Monday. Eeeek.

dinkystinky · 21/06/2011 14:12

Ah that's so sweet Markstretch - Danny is rather like that when we take DS1 to school in the mornings. In his head he's 2 going on pgrin]

Sorry SM - had a quick scan through the other threads and couldnt see another new one Blush

Ah there you are! Phew - lost you all for a moment.

america · 21/06/2011 19:18

Happy to find you all again.
12 week scan. How exciting. I hope that everything is ok.

Playgroup sounds lovely. Our nurseries are closed for July and I can only take two weeks of annual leave. I will ship my boys to their grandparents for two weeks and a month's holiday is probably doing them good. I only work four days a week but still I find that by Thu DC are always so tired. And I will be on holiday in 8 days!!!

dinkystinky · 22/06/2011 10:41

V excited - got told our olympics tickets today. Off to see beach volleyball (DH will be pleased Grin), Taekwondo (DS1 will be pleased) and Hockey. Should be fun I think.

America - nightmare re nurseries being closed for a whole month but you're right, the boys will love having 2 weeks with their grandparents (DS1 and Danny loved having my mum and dad looking after them for a few days last week while our nanny was away - they had them twisted round their little fingers Grin) - and you'll probably enjoy the quiet house for a couple of weeks.

MarkStretch · 22/06/2011 12:30

Dinky- Olympics tickets! Cool! Did you get them in the draw thingy they did? I expect the atmosphere will be amazing.

I cannot stop eating. I am eating everything in sight. I made the mistake of buying a pot of caramalised onion houmous in Tesco's approximately 45 minutes ago, there's only half of it left now. I am obsessed with eating wraps, falafel, chicken, ham, cheese, salad, I really don't care as long as it's in one of those lovely soft multigrain deli wraps...

Slobber...drool...

Oh and kitkats. (Not in a wrap, that would be weird.)

dinkystinky · 22/06/2011 15:10

Yup Markstretch - we applied for alot but only got 3 events in the end. Am sure will be worth it as its a once in a lifetime opportunity and DS1 is getting v excited at the concept of the olympics already.

I was just like you with being RAVENOUS when I was pregnant with DS1 - probably your body making up for lost time now the nausea has passed....

Bet now you've mentioned it you will try kitkats in a wrap - wierd but probably in a good way Grin

found you Grin Was feeling very lonely on the old thread then realised it was full and you'd all moved on Blush

MS good luck with scan, make the most of being able to stuff yourself silly. Have been frantically sorting and shredding the last few days and was a bit Blush and Sad when I found my old weight watchers sheet and realised I actually weigh about 5k more now than I did over a year ago! Shock
Am quite annoyed with myself, after easter my friend and I made a real effort with our diets an going to the gym. We'd been going about twice a week and mainly gossiped on x-trainer but then upped it to 4 or 5 times a week 40 to 45 mins of proper training on stepper or x-trainer (not texting whilst on it like normal). I know it made a big difference but we sort of gave up the last few weeks. My best friend left here last saturday for the summer (back to UK) and the week before she went we couldn't really be arsed and I've not been since she went as felt lonely without her Sad MUST MAKE MORE EFFORT! Am trekking Jordan in October so must get off arse!

so. Meet up? (I have no friends left in UK, need something in diary!)

dinkystinky · 24/06/2011 11:21

hello all - quiet on here. Hope you're all out there enjoying the sun.

Good luck with the sorting MOS - am impressed you're doing a Jordan trek. Maybe all that packing is a good workout in itself though.

Meet up - no firm plans yet but seems FB is the best place to raise fab febbers for meet ups, so maybe best place to do a status update asking for firming up a date on there and go on from there. Otherwise, evening meet up one week on a weekday in the latter part of August work for anyone?

mumoverseas · 24/06/2011 12:49

no, inside in the cool. Too bloody hot outside, nearly 50 degrees!

dinkystinky · 24/06/2011 14:36

blimey that is hot MOS - you're going to feel like you've moved to the antartic when you come back to the UK!

swampster · 24/06/2011 22:19

Well don't post about meet-ups on the FB group - I killed that a year ago when I posted about the Lambeth Country Fair. Incidentally, it is that time of year again and it is fabulously quirky and fun... 16 and 17 July if anybody fancies a trip to sarf lundun...

MS, I live in Playgroup Heaven and DS3 has been going to a few with alarming regularity since he was tiny. He loves it. And he gets Very Pissed Off when we deviate from the norm and he doesn't get to see his girlfriend on a Tuesday.

Envy at your Tae Kwon Do, dinky, we got a couple of other events but we really wanted that one!

Not been on for a while but I do stalk you guys . I had a coil fitted in May and I have only just recovered from the hell that it unleashed.

DS3 keeps whipping off his nappy, handing it to me and saying: "Me wet, Mummy." I don't think I'll be needing the gin too badly but I will glug it down with gratitude and gusto.

MarkStretch · 25/06/2011 12:38

Swampy! Good to see you on here!

I walked 13 miles last night for charity, it pissed it down and now I have blisters but I did it and now I feel all smug.

I would LOVE to come to a meet up, have we decided on anything? Swampy- DD has been asking to see DS3 since she fell in love with his little baby face in 2009.

swampster · 25/06/2011 12:46

MS! DS1 still talks very fondly of your DD - "Remember our friends who we meet in that place..." - cryptic!

Congratulations and go stick some vaseline or Lansinoh on those blisters of yours - helps A Lot.

oooggs · 25/06/2011 21:23

bloody hell I lost you al!!!!! Shock

thought you were a bit quiet Hmm

SilveryMoon · 26/06/2011 06:37

Morning all
Good to see you swampy Grin
I've been thinking of getting a coil...........not a good idea then?

Luke seems to have taken a step back in the potty department. Past 3 days he's been weeing in his pull-up.

swampster · 26/06/2011 11:55

Hi there SM. Coils are often/usually fine for most people. But you do hear horror stories and unfortunately mine was one of them. Don't let that be your deciding factor, I have friends who love theirs.

mumoverseas · 26/06/2011 15:07

SM don't stress about it, I've totally given up on potty training H (still struggling to train his dad!) Wink He started off really early, about last November/December doing a few poos and wees on potty but last few months he has regressed and I'm not going to even worry about it until we are home and settled.

SilveryMoon · 26/06/2011 19:11

I know I shouldn't stress about it, he'll get there one day.

far too hot for me today.

dinkystinky · 26/06/2011 22:04

SM - am not even trying to potty train Danny. He'll do it when he's ready I reckon. DS1 took FOREVER to actually get going with potty training but was fine once we focussed on it with him just before he turned 3 - and hopefully Danny will be the same.

Lovely to see you Swampster - we were down in Brockley today for friends' kids' birthday party. Took us an hour to get through camberwell (entire journey was 1 and a half hours down there!) and then 2 hours to get back thanks to weirdness around Victoria. Afraid to venture sarf again as fear would never make it back next time - otherwise would be v tempted by the lambeth fair. Sorry to hear you had a mare with the coil but hope all the rest good with you.

MS - well done on your mega walk. Not sure I'd have been up for a 13 mile walk in the rain at 12 weeks pregnant. Hope all goes well tomorrow at the scan.

MoS - hope the packing is going ok. Will post again on FB re meet ups.

oooggs · 27/06/2011 06:54

I am not potty training either!! Had 2 bad experiences with ds1 & dd so left ds2 until he was ready and wanted to. A week past his 3rd birthday he was dry day and night. DD still struggles keeping dry during the day (they are twins)

So I doubt it will be this side of Christmas!!!! He won't even sit on it

SilveryMoon · 27/06/2011 07:03

Ds1 was dry through the day by now.
Luke really freaks out if I try to put pants on him.
Can't believe he's back to weeing in his pull-up, he was doing so well.

dinkystinky · 27/06/2011 08:38

Maybe Luke's a commando fan Wink

He'll get it SM - he's only 2 and a quarter, pretty tiny in the grand scheme of things, and if he's freaking out at the idea of pants he's just not ready to embrace being a big big boy yet.

At the birthday party yesterday, the birthday boy was turning 6 and the birthday girl was turning 3. DH was chatting to the grandfather of the birthday kids who was impressed that Danny was only two and saying how mature and sorted he seemed for a 2 year old - only for Danny to fall arse over tit, start wailing and clambering up my skirt! They're wee nippers still, no matter how big they may seem compared to this time 2 years ago.
