ledkr - Grin at your DH in bed fully clothed. What is wrong with men? Does it really take that much effort to get undressed?

40Weeks - sorry about the chicken pox. I hope the week goes by quickly!

hubbard - is it your birthday today? If so, happy birthday!

We gave L a bit of rice last night, he didn't know what to do with it at first and it was running down his chin. He finally got the hang of it and seemed to really enjoy it. He was really interested in DH eating this morning so he gave L a chunk of peach (fell apart in his fist) and a wedge of pear that he sucked on for a while.

He also slept until 6 this morning, which is almost a reasonable time. He was also up a bit less often last night, probably because he had the rice in addition to what he usually eats. Usually it's a struggle to get him to eat much during the day and he makes up for it at night.

hubbard86 · 10/07/2011 11:40

nope not today xpat tomorrow. Glad u had fun ledkr. So p'd off with dh. After a week of potty training and a whole day out yesterday with no accidents he's taken tom out in a nappy as it's easier. I was upstairs with freya while he was getting him ready. He just doesn't think. Sorry for venting but it's made me so mad, that all my hard work is going down the drain

ledkr · 10/07/2011 11:49

ex pat sounds a bit better then. I know what you mean about blokes, how can you jsut be too tired to get undressed?I had to sleep next to his scratchy combat shorts. It was honestly as if he had been sat on his arse and then jumped up and gone to bed,no attempt to tidy up or take up a bottle in case Dilly woke early
Hubbard its just ridiculous isnt it? They just want a quiet life,i still remember dh when i was heavily pg telling me he preferred to relax on his days off and not do housework.
I need to buy a cot matress today, can anyone reccomend a nice one and also is anyobe using a bumper despite sids advice,it seems so un cosy with out one.

americanexpat · 10/07/2011 11:57

ledkr - I'm using a bumper because L would flail around and get his arms and legs stuck in the rails then wake up screaming. I was worried about it at first but it seems to be OK. He's pretty mobile and rolls a lot though, maybe it wouldn't be a problem with Dilly?

hubbard - Angry at your DH. They don't think sometimes, do they?

ledkr · 10/07/2011 12:00

Oh yes she turns full circle at night in her travel cot,ive found a breathable one on amazon may get that

40Weeks · 10/07/2011 12:03

Ha Ha lest we forget girls that a mere week ago I woke up fully clothed, but that was because I was too drunk, not too lazy! Totally different [hwink]

Hubbard make sure you post a pix of the cake! Happy birthday for tomorrow

Yay expat for the 6am start. We are still a 4.45am house but not because of the baby, would you believe

Yes ledkr I was thinking of using our bumper because M keeps stickig his legs through the cot bars. I always rate John Lewis matresses, doesn't have to be the most pricey one either

hubbard86 · 10/07/2011 12:09

i use a bumper with freya. Never been a problem as she's still not moving.
Freya woke up less than 2hrs ago and is asleep again is that normal??

ILovePonyo · 10/07/2011 12:31

Hey all, hubbard maybe F is having bit of a growth spurt? I've found with dd she'll sleep more sometimes (which I assume is growing b'cos she never seems more hungry than usual).

dd is currently asleep is cot with her little monkey toes hooked onto the bars of the cot and gripping a bar with her hand too Hmm No cot bumpers here! But might have a look for those breathable ones ledkr. Glad your night when well, sounds good. I have a mattress from mothercare which I posted a very pfb thread about asking if a mattress could be too bouncy as I was worried about dd bouncing herself around on it and bumping her head - am not embarrassed though, its what mn is for Grin

suzy my mum lives in a very nice new build and whilst they do seem to have thinner walls (she said she heard me having a wee once Hmm) the good thing is that its pretty unlikely to have any annoying problems crop up which have been going on for some time if that makes sense.

40weeks the pox sounds so horrible, yuk, hope it all clears up soon. Why on earth were you up at 4.45 Confused

Oh I bought one of those mesh feeder thingys from mothercare, dd has had a strawb and some banana, she looks slightly confused but seems to like it :)

Hope everyone else is having a nice day, I'm off to have some lunch now, dp cooking Grin

janedoe25 · 10/07/2011 13:04

Morning all, to make you all jelous i am just out of bed! Had a fab night and too many vodkas!

ledkr glad you had a good night.

hubbard im Angry at your dh! Poor T must have been so confused with the nappy.

I love looking in show homes too! we bought a new build, i love it getting to pick your kitchen and fittings! The walls are a bit thin but we have a detached so it doesn't bother us.

Im heading out today to pick up a bridesmaid dress, buying off of someone on gumtree for £30, brand new with labels! Im well impressed with the bargain Grin.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

Oh forgot 40weeks poor mickey and Owen! I hope they get better soon , to them both.

reastie · 10/07/2011 13:26

40 no cabin fever yet? Shock

ledkr glad you had a good time. Did you say name badges with rl/mn name?! Grin

hubbard Angry at ur dh. how's the cake coming along?

well, think I'm the only one to have ever not gone around a show home Hmm

ponyo love the sleepimg monkey posture

tarlia i don think mil is Envy that i see my mum more, but I play it down to mil heaps and in my defence sil has serious probs with mil too so isn't just me iykwim

whoever was asking about mn-isms - I was reading a thread last night about nobdies and felt really Shock at the clique-y ness of them - felt like they thought they were the elite and poked their nose down to everyone who wasn't mn royalty. I don't know anything about all this 'in' things either - I remember having to ask on here ages ago what aibu was Wink . I always thought prof was either a hardcore mner or worked for mn as she always seemed to know everything about mn there was to know (in a nice way though).

ems how you doing re: grampy?

borg alice suddenly went from loads of poos a day to one or two a week Shock . When she does have big gap between them they arn't always as huggggeeeeee as I think they will be though

bad/good night last night - bad in that she spent much of the evening screaming and took us me from 7pm - 10:30 to get her asleep in her cot, but good news is she slept from 10:30 - 8am - I couldn't believe it when I woke up and my clock at an 8 at the beginning [bliss]

ledkr · 10/07/2011 14:40

and whats wrong with name badges? We didnt look at all care in the community Grin we remembered to take them off later tho.Sounds like a good sleep tho.Well done for persisting with the bedtime tho.
I thought dd had the pox yesterday but the spot has gone now.
Umm cake, ive worked out my days eating and i have 1 flaming point left i am really hungry too cos of the booze i suppose.
I found the safe "cot wrap"from amazon in pink so im happy now, especially as she must be the worlds most wriggly baby. She's right grumpy today, always is when wakes up early

Emski76 · 10/07/2011 14:50

Thanx for Davina ref Ledkr, I have her DVD somewhere.
Reastie, I'm ok about Grampy thanx, funeral made it all real and I sobbed my way thru it. Am worried about mum tho as she is so upset and lost. She spent both her free days each week with him at the nursing home so I think she's missing him the most. The pastor was great tho and made us feel so proud of grampy as he mentioned he was a royal marine commando, and just spoke of what a wonderful man he was.
Noah had pooed after every feed and at night for the last ten days, mentioned it to hv but she said not to worry. I failed to mention that I've been weaning him tho, didn't want a telling off,
Glad you had a good night Ledkr.
40 weeks, bad news about the pox. It's rife at Bens nursery at the moment, am stuck between wanting to protect him from it and hoping he gets it so it's over and done with.
Hubbard I too would be mad with dh re nappy. Just the kind of thing my dh would do
Best go, off to do the food shopping, boo.

reastie · 10/07/2011 16:08

ledkr re name badges, i'm imagining if anyone there had mn nn like bumface or such like this could be quite Grin

Tarlia · 10/07/2011 18:38

ledkr glad you had a nice time and are hangover free.

restie just wondered, desperately trying to find a link! I've not been to see new builds either, but love the idea of everything shiney new.

40 if I started I'd never stop! I'm sorry about the pox, I hope they are feeling better soon. Lots of fun long baths!

American glad rice was a hit!

Z has been so so sad today, he is not grumpy baby usually and hardly ever cries so something is up that's for sure, but no fever and cheeks calmed down as day went on, so no idea.

Let's play a little game to make us giggle about the lack of sleep, follow with something you've done recently. I'll starts... "I was so tired I""...put hand soap on my toothbrush instead of toothpaste- yuk!!

ledkr · 10/07/2011 18:38

haha i think they all thouight we were weird anyway with our table buffet in the pub on a saturday night Grin Its such a shame we cant have one,if someone wins the lottery they should fly us all in.I was watching the weather the other day and everytime they went to an area i was thinking ooo Jane does has abit of sun today, ooo Wiggles will have a nice day with the girls, how sad is that?
Did anyone notice my "no comment" reaction to the dtd comparisons? Grin

Tarlia · 10/07/2011 18:40

Wow, we need a new thread already!! Would someone do the honours? I'm on my phone so it's not terribly easy for me.

40Weeks · 10/07/2011 18:42

ponyo ds2 body clock is the reason for early starts, i despair I really do

M having hussy fits at bedtime lately, not sure if it's cos milk flow not fast enough for him...v stressful, esp when doing bed time on my own [hsad]

40Weeks · 10/07/2011 18:55
