nope ... I'm a V - which will probably give it a way but can think what yours is too !! Does yours shorten to an L ? not quite sure why I am trying to be so secretive anyway as have given it away !!

Report
Hazellnut · 18/11/2005 20:59

Anyway, I guess when we meet up we'renot actually going to call each other Hazellnut, Roosmum etc... mind you guess it will hard ot think of each other as anything else !

Report
roosmum · 18/11/2005 21:00

yep i'm def an L. never have been an E, so altho it's my name, consider it a bit alien to myself - er does that make sense?!
so are you a V with 4 syllables?
haha, if we all ever do meet up...hi tipex...meet gossifer! i know SL's real name, but think she'd still be SL!

yep 4 syllables here - although in latter years I am one syllable !! I know what you mean about not being an E and being alien. I have never been 2 syllables (this is getting silly !!) and when people do call me that as they do, it just isn't me !! apparently as a precocious 3/4 year old I used to kick people if they called me that

(everyone else is going to get really confused with this conversation but it relates to another thread !!)

Hazellnut · 18/11/2005 21:05

oops just reread that, I am not suggesting you are in fact an alien.....

oooh i've missed too much! honestly... i go away for an hour or so... and you all get busy!

hello futurity and fruitful! it's a shame neither of you can make the meet-up... but maybe the new year one eh? would be so nice to put faces to names... well, nicknames!

roosmum... you're close actually! I did start an OU course in humanities (although didn't finish it
I was supposed to be doing midwifery! how ironic

Was thinking about quitting with the sterilising, although tbh it only takes 7 minutes in the microwave! But you know... one less thing to do!

Linus has only really jsut started toleratintg lumps in food, despite liking finger foods! For a while he would suck it, then whatever was left got spat out! still does it occasionally, but getting better!

Aha Tipex - so that's why you enthused about it the other day too !! What a lovely name !! Do you ever find it is shortened to one syllable (here I go again !!), was having a discussion with my mum about it and how I hope it isn't as I think of it as a completely different name.... but just wondered what your practical experience is ? We have already had a couple of official letters (like hearing test appointment) addressed as such...

Agree with children in need - what WAS candice like ? And Peter Andre and Jordan just make me laugh..... bless 'em

starlover · 18/11/2005 21:29

speaking of names.... what do you all call your darling little ones?
having spent so long thinking of the perfect name Linus gets called Binus!

When he was little I used to call him Linus Binus and we seem to have stuck with Binus. Although, Binus is also his mirror baby friend!

He also gets called monkeychops a lot

DH keeps channel hopping and going back to CIN. It's driving me mad as he keeps dragging me back to the tv to see something interesting - Peter Andre and Jordan are not interesting. But he won't let me watch the old episodes of ER I've been recording every afternoon and managing to watch as he has been working late, except for tonight.

we call dd chicken mostly - not sure why ? I think because she was so small when born and her legs were so tiny (found her hospital bands the other day and I couldn't get two fingers in !!) they looked like skinny chicken legs.....

But she does also get called 'the monkey' and dh calls her 'chops'....

Hmm all sounds a bit strange when I write it down ....

What would you shorten Scarlett to?

Report
Hazellnut · 18/11/2005 21:41

ooh good news Tipex- we have had the 'h' added a couple of times too .. ah well !! Give us a clue what your ds is called - unless you don't want to of course but just seen on the other thread that if he was a girl you would have had quite an unusual name ... did you go unusual for a boy ?
