Yes Tipex mine is biting
No bite marks yet thankfully but it certainly hurts
I'm hoping it's just a sign that more teeth are on the way

we weren;'t asked that at linus's 9 month check. sometimes he holds a bottle, sometimes he won't!

they did say they thought he had a squint though and that we'd be referred to the ophthalmologist... still not heard from them!

At DS's 9 mth check the HV asked if he could hold a bottle yet - I explained that he'd only recently got the hang of feeding from one - she then went on and on about beaker feeding

Needless to say he is now refusing a bottle after a 2 week break

at your dd saying bye bye to the MIL, wombat. That'll give me ideas, maybe I can train dd to say "bugger off" to mine.

Report
saintnik · 30/12/2005 19:30

Dd doesn't say anything - she babbles mamama & dadada but with no meaning at all.

She has occasionally put food on a spoon into her mouth but usually waves it around, she prefers finger foods. God, mealtimes are getting messy now aren't they?? Fun, though. Honestly - HVs are either obsessed with meaningless targets (I mean, FFS who cares about using spoons!!!) or just not there when you need them. Although mine's quite sweet I find with MN there's no need to see her really.

She climbed our stairs today, can't belive how fast she zipped up them. She thought it was great fun! DH really needs to get the stairgates up, the thought of her going near them unsupervised makes my blood run cold!

Gosh, we'll need a new thread for the new year won't we?

Hope you all had a good Christmas. So sorry to hear about your scare Angeliz but it's sounding positive now so will be crossing my fingers for you.

Christmas was good but dd got really ill. She slept terribly too, which wasn't great as we were at a relative's house so she woke everyone up. She's much better now thank goodness.

As for talking, she says mama, dada and baba. She has also said bye-bye to my MIL twice but never to anyone else! Must be pleased to see her go like me !

Hi, dd says mama all the time. I tried with the spoon today she was quite keen but had a guidance IYKWIM! Got a couple of spoonfuls in. She is also standing for a couple of seconds at a time, she then panics when she realises and collapses on the floor, very funny.
BiL at least your HV turns up ive still never had any response from her since she never showed up twice!!

funny you should ask... i just gave linus a spoon and he has no idea! lol

tried to get him to put it in his mouth but he just wants to bang it on the highchair!

i read today that at 10m babies should be starting to say some words... linus says mama and dada, but not necessarily in context... anyone else's lo's saying anything?

SL- I chucked the wood in the bin!! It was covered in splinters.

Question for you all - are any of your babies attempting self feeding with a spoon yet?
I only ask as I will probably see the HV next week and she is bound to hassle me about this

Good news Angeliz! A friend had a similar scenario recently and her levels were doubling - when she went back for her scan everything was fine . Keeping fingers crossed!

SnowmAngeliz · 29/12/2005 21:21

Hi Tipex and thanks for asking

The nurse rang last night and sai my HCG levels had gone from 512 on Monday to 1100 yesterday which is exactly right for about 5 weeks i think and they're obviosly doubling as they should be. They are seeing me again next Tuesday to scan again.
It could be a hoepful sign that all is well but it was just too early or it could mean that the pregnancy is going ahead but not where it should be. Nobody knows!
My main concern is that they didn't even find a gestational sac.

Anyway, longest week of my life i can tell you!I'm trying to keep busy (which is pretty easy!!)

Hope you're all o.k+++++++++

Hello all
We're back in the UK finally
Spent yesterday in a sleep deprived haze
DS finally went to sleep around midnight but slept until midday

We are doing nothing for NYE
Hopefully have some nice food at home and relax

Xmas was pretty dull. Mil served the same meal 3 days running and didn't buy any presents for DS
She gave him a piece of wood!!!!!!!
Luckily I expected this so it wasn't a shock!

However he seemed pleased with his retro gift from us chatter phone

saintnik · 29/12/2005 17:48

Oooh !!!! It'll be bloody mayhem here in Edinburgh not to mention fireworks blasting off at midnight to wake dd up.

Have a fantastic time!
