OK, maybe I am a bit thick, but how do you put photos on? and also, how do I view photos? Dying to see all the beautiful feb babies (and Ledkr in her bikini!)

ledkr · 25/05/2011 10:58

Irishqueen should have held her over him as she puked Grin men have this great sense of entitlement about sleep dont they, fortunately mine has worked out that i am a much nicer person with sleep and so is actually ok,he also appreciates that i have done this 5 times to his one so needs to take the flack.

I just lost a massive post AGAIN grr,D woke at ten thirty then was wide awake till 1am then slept till 6,thats the last time she gets a late sleep in the day. Was it ponyo or hubbard who said about baby in travel cot?I was going to try it but worried ity will make things worse?I .believe i once had a baby who slept 12hrs,i did say it was to good to be true didn't I?
These babies are certainly proving the sleep regression theory arent they?

Zombie mums are the ones who wear boden push eye candy or bugaboos and have bloody giraffe teethers, they go to baby swim class and show no signs of having carried a child with their slight figures and perfect bikini lines.
D has a lovely soft giraffe she sleeps with its called gifrick after my pretend friend giraffe i had as a child.Dh has also painted her a picture of a mummy and baby giraffe for her room, stil not getting a sophie tho Grin

My period came back spot on 8 wks and has continued relentlessly every 28 days since, and is heavier,am hoping the menopause isnt far away,i couldnt even shred yesterday cos of it,will be shredding today tho

Am mega excited re disney and Ella danced to school.

ledkr · 25/05/2011 11:00

Foe4you and tarlia ive added you to see my pics and suzym1984 ill do you now, name changers you will have to prompt me.

byronicheroine · 25/05/2011 11:51

suzy you should be able to see my photos now - your LO is soooo little in that photo, it seems like ages ago for me now.
A lot of us have private photos - add MN names to your MN mates list (found on your profile page) - but you should be being added as we speak! If you want your photos private, just copy and paste our names from the stats list.
K is in our room still, not sure what's going to happen when he goes into a bigger bed - no room! Might have to start flat hunting
Jane sorry about the period, rubbish things! Try lying on your back on the floor and putting your legs up a wall IYSWIM? Helps me sometimes. If you want some r'n'r come out to greece and you are welcome to take the night shift Wink
ledkr and wiggles jealous of the holidays, my holiday this year will be coming back to the uk! DP has a school reunion that i'm not invited to, so i'm taking DS to my dad's narrow boat to let his wife look after the baby while i relax
hubbard have a blast with your friend - here's a secret: DP's best friend just came out, so AIBU to swipe him for MY bff? [fag hag emoticon]
reastie love that video, I kind of remember it from my childhood and that brought it all back. I told my mum and she said that there is a 3rd verse that's something like 'this is the way the farmers ride, hobbledy hoy, hobbledy hoy and down in the ditch' and then you 'drop' them suddenly down. DISCLAIMER: ours are still probably a little young for that bit Grin

Baby is asleep so i'm drinking tea and MNing, bliss! Of course, have already ironed all DP's shirts and done some yoga.......

americanexpat · 25/05/2011 12:18

Oh, I am definitely NOT a zombie mum! I appear to be part zebra with my stretch marks and have no idea what an eye candy is. I'm only a zombie in the sense I've had no sleep.

Another one with a worthless partner last night. He fell asleep putting L to bed at 8:30 - I had to wake him up to feed and actually put L in his bed, ridiculous - and didn't get up until after 8 this morning. I had a proper go at him at 8, as I'd had 4-5 non-consecutive hours of sleep because L woke up at 6:30 and wouldn't go back to sleep. Am feeling even more Angry just thinking about it. He'd better not say he has to work late because he went in late or it will kick off.

L is such a crap sleeper anyway, I can't wait to see what the four month sleep regression brings. Hmm

debka - wow, Bina has really grown into her cheeks, hasn't she? :o

reastie - can you contact Citizens Advice or similar to find out what your rights are?

debka · 25/05/2011 13:23

V good advice from expat there reastie, I really would NOT pay this man yet until he has done the job you agreed on. Or maybe pay half, and keep the remainder until he has put it right, so he knows you are good for the money but not good for taking s*.

jane it's Glasgow you're in, isn't it? I'm on my way Grin

S is a right ratty little beast today, won't sleep longer than 45 minutes and hasn't had a proper feed since 7. I keep offering but she's not really taking any. Who else on here is ebfing? Is it just me? [lonely]

janedoe25 · 25/05/2011 14:13

Right ladies, i have the wedding head on today and have found 2 dresses i love, i will post pics of them. Honest opinions please? See the things i get sorted when DF is not around bugging me! He is back on Friday night, thankfully, i'm missing him (soppy emtoticon).

Deliaskis · 25/05/2011 14:24

Hello ladies and new thread!

Things are going fine with us. Had Claudia christened on Sunday which was lovely although a very busy day and busy build up with visitors/family etc. It was nice to have things to do but equally nice to have a few quieter days this week when I can take a bit of a breather.

C is being pretty good at the mo. I think the reflux is reasonably well under control, and she's sleeping really well. She's still a really fussy feeder. Every bottle takes around 45 minutes and often I have to walk around feeding her to distract her. I do wish it wasn't a battle every time, but in general things are good so I can live with it.

C is now 14 weeks which feels weird as it tips the balance of my 6 months maternity leave. I now have less left to go than I have done so far.

DH was away for work for a week last week, and I am feeling proud that I coped OK. I did have lots of help from my parents, but still, I survived, and so did C, and I didn't even get upset on the phone to DH at any point or beg him to come home or anything.

I am feeling a bit odd this week tho. I think combination of busy week and Christening etc. I feel a bit deflated, and I guess a bit overwhelmed by the notion that this being a Mum thing is never going to stop. Don't get me wrong, I'm nowhere near the PND type phase I went through earlier on, and I am definitely enjoying C more now, am just a bit blue and feeling a little unsure of what happens next now that I've got the hang of the actual practical stuff. I think maybe I need to start focussing on some fun stuff e.g. booking a holiday or something as I feel a bit trapped in the tedium this week, although I am having 'fun' with C on a day to day basis, I am just struggling with the mid/longer-term view a bit.

D

debka · 25/05/2011 14:41

jane they are both absolutely gorgeous. I especially like the second one with the flower (I think) detail. Would you wear a jacket or somethimg over them? I imagine it's pretty bloody cold in \scotland in November!

Deliaskis · 25/05/2011 14:51

jane they are both gorgeous. I think the second one slightly has the edge as it is more 'bridal' (in a good way!) and special. Both lovely tho.

D

reastie · 25/05/2011 16:05

jane I love both dresses. Are you going to get a pashmina/shrug or such like incase it's cold (I'm thinking it's november AND scotland - it'll be cold Wink )? I think I'd go for the second one if it were me, but both choices are fab. Have you seen them both in RL? One might be looser in the tum for a potentially pregnant belly than they other. I was thinking of you earlier and what you said about never wearing a dress and I always think brides who usually never wear dresses look even more fab to everyone as people arn't used to seeing them in a dress IYKWIM Grin

alice has been terrible this afternoon - she cried for about an hour - the sort of pain cry where you get real tears and can't calm her down, like when she gets out the bath or hurts herself. No idea what's wrong with her but finding today very hard work Confused

byron yes I do the down in to the ditch thing but hold her safely Wink

deb just read your post re: a jacket - great minds eh Wink . I like to think of myself as ebf but DH does one formula feed at night, other than that though, we are ebf. Some days alice has tons of massive feeds and others she doesn't have much so try not to worry.

Hi d was only thinking of you yesterday and meant to ask if you were OK but forgot Blush . Glad the christening went well. I think I understand what you mean with feeling a bit odd - I think I get that sometimes too. I'm sure someone here will have more to say on it but, yes, I feel that feelign sometimes. I think perhaps our lives have changed so much forever now and it can be hard to adjust/relate to how different we are now. Sometimes I love my new life and sometimes I wish things were a little easier (like I never get any time to myself - didn't realsie how pampered I was before!). A holiday planning task sounds like a great idea - I need to do one of those. We were wondering about going to stratford upon avon or suffolk Hmm (save the big trips for when I'm braver alice is older. Speaking of hols - How many sleeps now till Ibiza wiggles - must be about 2 1/2 weeks??

ledkr went into town this morning and the place is full of zombie mums - I'm surrounded - think it's rubbing off on me - I've ordered the sophie and would quite like to do a baby swim class but can't find one I like the look of Wink - sadly I do very much look like I've had a baby though :( . My gym was full of them, infact, the trainers working there used to call them desperate housewives behind their backs Grin

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 25/05/2011 16:37

I fear some of my friends may be zombie mums, complete with the i candy and swimming lessons for their 6 week old babies! Grin

reastie i will be getting a shrug i think, the wedding is all in the same building but hoping to venture outside for photos, weather permitting of course! Last November we were knee deep in snow!

I hope Alice settles tonight, poor wee mite.

delia im glad you are feeling better, with regards to the future just do what i do, take things as they come a day (sometimes an hour) a time is my mantra.

Tarlia · 25/05/2011 16:48

Oooooh, I'm so excited for wee Ella and Disney! Do you trhink she will take me in her suitcase?? I remember going when I was younger at Christmas and coming home with a case full of Disney crap merchandise.

jane I LOVE both! They are beautiful! I think i'd go for the second one as I really like the train on it. My OH is away this week too, you should have hopped on a plane to see us Grin.

Delia welcome back! Glad the christening went well. I know what you mean, I has a little wobble yesterday where for a moment, I thought 'this' is it, maybe its a first timer thing!? I don't really know many people over here so it can get a bit lonely. I hope you are ok, thinking of you.

I've uploaded some photos, one of me (and OH) and one just for ledkr with a Sophie - poooooor little Dilly Wink. If anyone can't see them, let me know.

I'm also ebf Deb so you are not alone - I did express a bit in the early days but couldn't be arsed anymore discovered semi co-sleeping at 5am when OH gets up for work. Must be something in the air (or milk Grin) as Z has been the same today, lil monkeys.

hubbard86 · 25/05/2011 19:08

had a bit of a baking spree and will have to take some to moms and toddlers as havin that much cake in the house is dangerous. I made 2 dozen strawberry and polenta cupcakes and 2 dozen nutella and cinnamon cupcakes. Very greeneyed about talk of holidays wish we could afford one but what with our redundancys we have no chance unless we win the lottery

Emski76 · 25/05/2011 19:51

Ledkr, am jealous of your trip to EuroDisney. Dh and I went there for our honeymoon, yep were that romantic! Can't wait to take the boys when their older!
Tarlia, your lo is gorgeous, such a lovely big smile!
Reastie, sorry to hear about your kitchen, I second contacting citizens advice!
Delia, good to hear from you. I am a second time mum and still feel like you do! I think booking s holiday or taking some time out for you will help. Mil came over yesterday afternoon and had Noah while I waited at a friends house for BT to connect his Internet, I lay on his sofa read a magazine and had forty winks. I felt like a new woman after just fir having a bit if time to be me again.
Jane, I too love the second dress best. You are going to look beeeeeautiful!
Reastie, Noah was like Alice this afternoon. I put him down for a nap at lunchtime and after 20 minutes he cried. It took me over an hour to settle him. I wrapped us in my dressing gown and lay on the sofa and he would close his eyes then scream and cry as if he was in pain. I was getting so worried I almost took him to A & E! I think it a was a combination of being poorly with a cold, teething and being overtired. It was really upsetting. He finally fell asleep after an hour and I got to have a little nap too!
He's been quite bad the last two nights, I think he's waking up because of his stuffy nose then cries because he can't get back to sleep. Dh and I are both so tired, and he's got to be up at 4am to go to Rugby for an 8am presentation so I will be on duty tonight. Off to bed soon to try and get some shut eye before Noah starts again!
Here's wishing a peaceful night for us all

chocoroo · 25/05/2011 20:07

Jane Love, love, love the flower dress. It's gorgeous.

Delia How scary is being a mum for the rest of our lives? It's hit me over the last few weeks too. Spontaneity is well and truly a thing of the past. I'm not saying they're not worth it but these babies sure are life changing!

Hubbard As it happens...there's space for a few cupcakes at my house. Akthough that might spoil my diet - 8lbs so far ladies and only one day of Shred!

ledkr I second Tarlia, is there space for me to come to Disney? I've been twice, once as a kid and once on my best mate's hen do a few years ago. We were chased around the park by all the characters who were horny Fremch students in disguise!

Oh and ledkr, it was me with the travel cot (I used to be ElleB in case you missed my name change!) R's been in it two nights now and seems to be ok. The first night she slept like a dream but last nigt figured out she had more space to wiggle. I bought an extra mattress for it as the one it came with was a bit thin.

Not too bad here today, although I had sad news that a freight D's mum died. I gave R lots of extra hugs, I can't bear the thought of ever leaving her no matter how old she is.

debka · 25/05/2011 20:27

Had a really rotten day today- S not sleeping or feeding (sigh), DH being a total twunt, Imy being two and I was just so tired. Walked up with girls to post a letter and saw the church was open, so we walked up there and as soon as stepped inside I just felt calmer, got a bit more perspective. I lit a candle for Zoe, jane, shed a little tear then went outside and played with my big girl for about an hour.

Just googled poor weight gain in bf babies and actually managed to cheer myself up a bit, there doesn't seem to be too much to worry about! Shock

May not get on again till we get back from the show. Wish me luck please everyone, and if you don't hear from me next week, I will have been hospitalised. Grin

Wishing you all a peaceful night and a great weekend, D xxx

ledkr · 25/05/2011 20:37

Hi all, Choc i may leave it then for now,did she sleep ok before,my dilly teased me with crazy 12 hr nights and then regressed. I must admit tho today she has been well grumpy and i noticed her nose a bit runny and then Ella says she has a cold so maybe Dilly has too,i gave her some calpol tonight before dh took her to bed, expat my dh is like that,he takes D to bed and we dont see him again!!He gets mesmerised by the tv or football radio.
reastie cit advice for you, dont be paying him if you are not satisfied tsk.
Poor Alice and Noah,i wonder whats up with them?
jane id like to be different and say the first dress but i feel as if thats more of a ball gown but the other one is really weddingy iyswim. It is lovely and very flattering too,im just looking at hats myself Grin
Sorry about your bad news choco,it makes you think doesnt it?
I am also today feeling a bit Shock at the whole "having a baby" concept thinking of toddlers etc and it being yrs now untill i reach the stage i was at with Ella.
Very excited about Disney today-mostly about the chance for 4 nights sleep.
Btw i popped into boots today for some bits, they had reduced loads of Liz Arden and Lancome skin care and make up to 50p HELLO! I was with another woman and we bought loads and loads,i did my xmas shopping and have my supplies for next few yrs,one night cream was origionally 65 pounds.

wigglesrock · 25/05/2011 20:46

Evening all, had very busy day today, decided last night that Anna definitely needed a cot, moses basket far too short. So Mr W, Anna and I headed to Ikea and got one, yay of course I went a bit mad on the old toy front. All this talk of toys yesterday made me feel a bit guilty, Anna has some lovely cuddly toys she got as presents but apart from trusty Mr Bear none she really plays with, she has most of her fun with a muslin cloth Grin Got some lovely cuddly rattles.

Deliaskis Congrats on Claudias' christening, book a holiday, go on you know you want to Grin

Tarlia beautiful photos.

Well, Sophie the giraffe arrived today, Anna was fascinated by it, think it was the colour - I put it beside her and she just stared at it, wouldn't touch it but couldn't take her eyes of it, Olivia on the other hand adores it, had to stop her smuggling it into her room. Ps I don't know what an i-candy is, but don't want to appear like a culchie Grin

jane love both dresses, really like the first one but only by a nose. They are both yummy and making me feel Envy.

reastie we go 3 weeks today - bought Anna the cutest swimsuit ever, ever today but had to get a 6-9 month size, she is really long Hmm

reastie · 25/05/2011 21:02

ledkr 50p Shock Grin - get some for me while you're there Wink . Do you think they realised they'd marked it down that much Hmm

wiggles good old ikea - hope you had meatballs Grin

choc :(

ems yes - I really panicked with alice today - she was screaming like in pain for so long. I think I would've got DH home from work if I wasn't at mums when it happened so she could help me.

Ladies has anyone had a baby bouncing activity centre with other LOs? Is it any good? Have found a local one on ebay with buy it now and really want to buy it....NOW, but thought I'd ask if anyone thinks it's a good purchase. Alice does like bouncing on our laps so in a month or whatever might like this actiity thing. It's a bit like this one www.amazon.co.uk/Bright-Starts-Bounce-Baby/dp/B003LQU0GO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1306353585&sr=8-7 . If you're online can you respond now so I can buy it (or not) tonight Grin [impatient emoticon]

reastie my friend has this, her daughter loves it, I have thought about getting Anna one, would have liked one for the other two but never had the room.

ledkr good move on the creams etc, I already have Olivias' Christmas present Blush

reastie · 25/05/2011 21:06

just spotted this portable blackout blind on amazon www.amazon.co.uk/GroCompany-EFA004-Anywhere-Blackout-Blind/dp/B002B55BNI/ref=zg_bs_baby_1 never seen anything like it and thought some of you might be interested Hmm .

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 25/05/2011 21:09

debka Thank you from me and Zoe.

choco So sorry to hear of your friends mum.
yay for the weight loss! I am not weighing myself this week, although i have probably lost weight, I have been living on 2 slices of toast the past few days!

ledkr hope Dilly is ok, it's really horrible when little ones are ill Sad

I think i prefer the first dress, it's classy and simple (like me with less of the class!). I don't want a "proper" wedding dress as it's just not me.

I'm so bloody bored tonight, nothing for watching on the tv so i might just head to bed. Goodnight all, hope babies sleep all night.

ledkr · 25/05/2011 21:10

quick opinion ladies-dont hold back honestly. D has been abit of a pain going to bed at night, its the old fall asleep feeding and then wake up as soon as you move scenario Hmm Well we have talked about doing a spot of tough love and letting her cry abit as i simply cannot leave poor Ela alone for 2 hrs when dh is at work. Tonight dh came down and the same had happened,he was a tad stressed so i said he could finish the kitchen and i would sort d out.
I was typing my last post so i thought id finish it as she was doing that tired intermittent crying not upset crying, well she ended up crying off to sleep over 5mins, i feel a bit guilty now tho,we checked her and she's fine but do you think i was horrible. I am even thinking i might do it tomorrow as ive started it,what do you think?

chocoroo · 25/05/2011 21:12

ledkr Yep, I'm the owner of an incredible sleeping baby - she's been sleeping at least 11 hours since about 4 weeks. Dropped the dream feed a few weeks ago and she's been fine. She often wakes at about 6 and chunters to herself but soon goes back off when I stuff the dummy in.

reastie I was talking about those bouncy things the other day. A friend had one for her DD1 but reverted to an old fashioned door bouncer for DD2.

wiggles I-candy is a pram. I almost got one but went for the Oyster which is very similar...although I think led has one of those too so I can't say that too loudly!
