Damn, thread title should have had Sophie in Grin. Isn't it odd so many of us have them!?

Suzy, I didn't realise another thread baby had the same birthday as Z. Welcome back! How have you a d Harry been?

suzym1984 · 24/05/2011 21:19

hi tarlia I stopped posting for a while as I found it hard to keep up! I have been reading every day tho, to see what you ladies are up to!

We are doing great thank you, starting to get some sort of routine together and i am slowly feeling more human again! How is Zachary? Love the name by the way!

wigglesrock · 24/05/2011 21:23

Tarlia I know, I don't want one now that everyone has them Grin

Well all Gleed up, going to have a wander around the kitchen for something to eat, Mr W still at work and am too lazy tired to heat cook something. Looks like it'll be toast for me Grin

reastie · 24/05/2011 21:53

ah yes tarlia I'm soooo last week with my thread title Wink

Well, I ordered sophie earlier from amazon (wonder if ledkr will ever talk to me again Wink )

I had home made nut burger, salad and new potatoes for my tea Grin lots of brownie points to byron for home made fast food Wink

suzy I remeber Grin - glad all going well with you.

Quick kitchen moan to get it out of my system - feel free to bypass this whole paragraph! Rang up kitchen man to say we wern't too pleased given we not only have wrong tap but also sink. Things got a bit heated between DH and kitchen man and kitchen man saying he did stuff he didn't quote for and didn't charge extra so we should be indebted to him Hmm . He wont let us have any money off his price and says the sink is slightly different but still same size as the one he quoted for - so I check the sizes of the sink he quote for and they don't even make one that big in the one he quoted for so he's talking out of his bottom. The whole thing is stressing me and DH out as we don't do confrontation so he knows we're not happy but we will grudgingly pay. Feel so annoyed at paying him full price for a very average job where things have gone so wrong. soooo Angry tonight about it.

reastie poo re the kitchen, will you not shout just a little bit at him, how did you find him, was he recommended to you, does he advertise? I had toast and HP sauce for my dinner - can I have some brownie points Grin

reastie · 24/05/2011 22:02

well, if you made the toast I suppose you get mini brownie points Wink

we got his details as we were going for a whole kitchen refit via a posh shop with v good rep. They sent someone over to go through quoting for prep work for kitchen and shop had gone on about how this guy had such a good eye for detail and was expensive but worth it and one of the best etc. Didn't go for complete refit as money went on new car etc but this builder guy had his own kitchen tarting up business so thought we'd get him to tart ours up Confused . Honestly - they tell you to get 3 quotes et al but you can't tell who the good guys are anyway Hmm

I know I'm really crap at stuff like that, really I hear you cry what a surprise but Mr W used to work in a kitchen design place and he's very good, couldn't fit it but can draw some nice pictures of what it should look like Smile He went to work at 6am this morning and isn't home yet, knew he'd be late but thought he'd be back by now Sad. Think I'll give up and head to bed. Night night, sleepy baby wishes

Tarlia · 24/05/2011 22:21

Oh angels he sounds like a right incompetent twunt. I'm sorry :(

Thank you, Suzy! He is good thank you - getting SO big, right lil chubba. I'm glad to hear you are all well, we'd love to see a photo if happy to share!?

Haha wiggles, baaaaa :P Really 'she' is cute. Zachary bites her nose and often jumps at the squeaking. Grin

Ooooh, i nearly forgot, we had a first giggle this morning when I was washing his armpits with a flannel. I had to keep having another little go as it was so funny, that his pit went a bit pink Blush oops.

ledkr · 24/05/2011 22:28

Hi im still alive but my dd2 seems to have discovered crying and being a pain in the arse so no shred or life for that matter today Hmm she is actually working up again now,has been in bed since 8,looks like im in for a night of it then, will speak tomorrow if i have the energy, btw i booked disney for june 13th five whole days away from babies and Ella cried just like on the advert Grin off to no fun babyland now guys byeeeeee

debka · 25/05/2011 06:12

ledkr that's grim, sympathies :( Hope your night wasn't too awful. Fab news about Disney, I am Envy

Mine was a little bugger all afternoon, then fed at 12.30 and 3.30 and woke at 5. Think she was trying to get back to sleep but did it so noisily I was worried she's wake up Imy. So got her up- now she's asleep on the kitchen counter (in her moses basket) (after a bit of crying). We're off to another show tomorrow, 4 more nights in a hotel room, TBH I'm starting to dread it...

reastie I'm near Folkestone, so not so close to you. Do you know it hasn't rained here since March? That is really s* about your kitchen. I wouldn't just pay, make a fuss, he's not done what you asked, don't pay him until he's fixed it. My DH used to be a project manager and he would NEVER let workmen get away with that sort of thing.

What's so great about Sophie the Giraffe then??

Welcome back suzy

debka · 25/05/2011 06:25

Just put a few more photos up- found one of Bina newborn- she is huuuuge!!

hubbard86 · 25/05/2011 06:47

just marking my place whilst everyones asleep, freyas just had a feed and will sleep now till half 8. I haven't got a sophie looked at them but i prefer lamaze toys and freyas got sophie the princess and octotunes and dee dee the dragon. She's started to get interested in stuff but nothings as good as her fist.
Got a night out planned for sat as my gay bff is over from leicester so will be havin a few drinks and a boogie. No shred here Grin steak and grilled asparagus with wild mushroom cous cous and endamme bean stir fry for tea. Brownie points?? Gonna make some blueberry and strawberry muffins today after our morning playgroup

wigglesrock · 25/05/2011 06:48

Morning, we had a bit of a night of it too, Anna appeared to be starving all night and Olivia woke up and appeared in our bed sometime around 3am and she ground her teeth all night. My mum has Olivia this morning and Mr W actually made it home at some point so he's about for a few days so not quite as aagggh as it might be. Although I think I may have spoken too soon re my period being easier ....... Oh happy day Grin

ledkr fab news re Disney, Ella must be soooooooooooooooooo excited, you are the worlds bestest mummy xx

Debka beautiful photos, really lovely, Sabine was obviously just growing into herself Grin Re Sophie, I don't know apparently babies love them, I think its more to do with the fact that she's a giraffe, we have a giraffe thing in our house, Sofia's a bit mad about them.

Four4me · 25/05/2011 06:53

Love the photos deb

I am up and about early as usual as it takes a long time to get breakfast etc done to leave the house at 8 30. Dh away. Bloody typical all 4 of the dc are upstairs asleep.! Will prob have to wake them including Archie. Arrrrrr
We're never happy. Why do they always wake early on the weekend. Seven is a sleep in here!!!!!!

Hoping babies are more settled for everyone today (maybe the wind upset them instead of the full moon Grin )

reastie · 25/05/2011 07:33

ledkr lucky ella - I love those disney ads where the kids are all excited Grin . I expect when you return DH will have a new found respect for how well you do with D Wink . I feel slightly sorry for him as he's bound to find it hard I think and prob doesn't realise everything you do Wink

deb love the piccies - the one of S as a newborn looks like she's flashing muscly arms (alice does this sometimes and makes me giggle)

Well, shock horror alice still asleep. Was up at 4 for a feed and that's it. usually she's up for the morning by 6:30. Why does it happen today when I've been awake since 5 stressing about the kitchen man though Hmm

hubbard v impressed with your cooking skills there Wink

tarlia I did the same thing re: trying to get alice to giggle again - I think she's utterly fed up of being jigged on my lap Grin

am sat here with the tv on wondering how on earth my tv upstairs has bbc east anglia local news and the tv down stairs has bbc london local news Hmm - same aereal, both being watched on freeview. I have been pondering on this for some weeks but still can't work it out Hmm

Hi all! Happy new thread! Grin
I've been naughty these past few days and haven't shredded and have been eating crap Blush. All of my old pre-pg clothes fit though now, so I'm not feeling too guilty Grin.

Summat weird is happening with my iPhone and I can't view photos Sad I imagine that you're all very gorgeous though. There's no way on this earth that I'll be posting a picture of me - it'd send you all running and screaming from the thread. I'll put one up of the baby though, when I can be added to get to a PC.

Well, my sleeping little angel has turned into a pita! She was sleeping through from about 9 till 5 (what a way to make a livin') which was fine by me but now she's decided she's hungry at 2.30 am Angry. I'm contemplating putting her on hungry baby milk but she's not actually that hungry. I put her on 7oz bottles because she was draining 6 but recently she hasn't always been having a full bottle, sometimes just about 4 oz and has decided that she fancies a midnight snack, grr. She settles no problem after though and I guess that a lot of babies feed during the night still. Maybe I should just quit being a whinging biatch and be grateful for the sleep I get!

What is Sophie the Giraffe?

WanderingSheep · 25/05/2011 07:45

The little boy dancing on the bed, in his pyjamas, on the Disney ad always makes me Grin.

janedoe25 · 25/05/2011 07:47

Morning all, If i was closer to you all i could have the babies at night, im up most of the night anyway!

ledkr Yay for disney, Ella will LOVE it. I went a few years ago and was worse than the kids!

reastie i wouldn't be payiing the kitchen man until he fulfills the contract, if he gives you problems phone citizens advice.

debka loving your pics, hope you manage to survive the hotel.

My DF is working away this week, the first he has been away since Zoe was born, i a bit lost without him Sad I'm going back to bed after i take the kids to school, this freaking period has hit me like a tonne of bricks, never known anything like it! Im feeling so dizzy and shaky adn have super cramp (feeling sorry for myself emoticon)

Oh forgot to say hi suzym, hope little Harry is well.

ILovePonyo · 25/05/2011 08:12

Morning ladies, well dd has been awake since 4am Confused managed to get her back to sleep alittle bit on and off for an hour or so, but was constantly getting up to shove place her dummy back in her mouth anyway. Yawn. The difference for me is that she went to bed at 8 and settled really well thank god, don't know how I'd manage if she was going to bed late and waking up early.

Can I just have a moan about dp please. He has said for weeks he'll put a curtain up in our room (we only have blinds) and still hasn't done it. I'm convinced the light is waking dd up earlier. We have the curtain and pole, also I put it up last time but it fell down when our kittens climbed it Blush and our walls are abit crumbly, so he said he needs to do it and put something on the wall to make it less crumbly Hmm. Fgs he does loads of other stuff of his own but can't put up one curtain, I'd rather just pay someone to do it.

Rant over! hubbard we are a fan of lamaze too, we have octotunes, captain calamari Grin and an annoying horse that neighs whenever you go near it.

ledkr how cute about Ella, glad you've got your break booked, can't wait to do things like that with dd. Agree that your dh may have a new found respect and have a feeling he'll be very pleased to see you when you get home Grin

Four4me a couple of weeks ago the only day dd slept in til 7.30 was the one day I wanted her to be up at 6 as usual to get out of the house early! Typical. My dp is a teacher and says the kids are always a bit more hyper when its windy, think maybe the wind did have an effect on babies too...

reastie I have been jigging dd on my lap non stop since yesterday, she seems to like it for a minute then get a bit bored, oh well, I won't give up!

My mum is coming today, really looking forward to seeing her.

ILovePonyo · 25/05/2011 08:18

Wandering is she definitely hungry?! How confusing, and annoying too I imagine. Hungry baby milk could be worth a go I suppose? I like the little boy dancing in those adverts too!

jane hope the weekend without df isn't too bad, I'll be about from sat pm onwards so will keep an eye out for you if you want to chat.

got to go someone is being loud Hmm Grin

reastie · 25/05/2011 08:25

jane is df away all week? make sure you come on here for a chat if you need one :) hope period lightens up soon

ponyo enjoy time with your mum Grin and Angry at your DH. FWIW we had a similar crumbling wall prob at the last place and we have to screq a bit of wood to the wall and then attach the curtain rail to said wood.

we have some lamaze toys too and they are really good (haven't bought any though - they've all been given to us :) ). We have a dinosaur, frog, doll, dolphin, a snail rattle and some odd looking feet finders which alice currently hates Confused . ledkr is lamaze also for the zombie mum? Wink . We have a couple of jelly kitten (??) toys which are quite good. My sister bought alice a jelly kitten book for easter about animals which makes a horse noise when you press it but it looks like a cow is making a horse noise when you look at the picture Hmm . I'm going to have one very Confused daughter Wink

jane I'm really tempted not to pay kitchen man but for an easy life and to save DH stress we prob will. Apparently kitchen man was getting cross saying we were just trying to get out of paying him the money Shock and going on about breach (or is it breech?! Blush )of contract that we were saying we wouldn't pay him all. When in fact be surely has breached his blooming contract by giving us a different sink and tap Angry . I would be prefectly happy to pay full price if it was decent quality and what I wanted. I'm so tempted to kick up a fuss but apparently he wouldn't budge in taking any money off his price and not sure if it's worth it to take it further. there's more of my hard earned money down the drain :(

reastie · 25/05/2011 08:27

wandering only thing about hungry milk is my hv says once you start los on it there's no going back - they get used to the fuller feeling in their tummies or whatever and so they don't want to go back to the normal milk. Hv said some parents get in a pickle as they put LOs on hungry milk too early when they wern't really overly hungry in the first place Hmm . Of course, we all know to ignore hvs when we feel like it but thought I'd pass that on.

Morning all!

Had quite a good night, Harry went to bed at 8pm, woke for a feed at 4am, then slept til 7.30! I am very jealous of you ladies with sleeping thru the night babies tho.

reastie I really feel for you with the dodgy workmen, that would really wind me up to! Try not to get too stressed, unfortunately no other advice as I am a softy with things like that!

Jane Hope that pesky period lightens up for you, try and get some rest.

tarliawill try and get some piccies up, just have to figure out how to do it!

Just wondering, how many ppl have babies in their own rooms by now? harry has been in his since about 10 weeks old (bad mummy?) but we use breathing alarms and his nursery is about 10 steps away in our teeny tiny house! Also, has anyone allowed their babies to sleep out yet? My mum is desperate to have him, and I would love a night out, but think i will miss him too much! haha!

irishqueen how annoying! Give him a smack in the gob from me!

Oh, and regarding hungry milk (sorry cant remember who posted that!) my friend tried it and ended up with WORSE sleep as it gave her LO a bad stomach and as its hard to digest he was so hard to settle to sleep.
