MizK don't worry, I just took K into work and everyone was like "OMG he's HUUUUUGE" and I felt the same way, but then reading people's responses I realised it is a kind of compliment - especially for a bf baby, so don't take it that way. I think people just want to say something, anything, so (hopefully) after they say how cute a baby is, they'll look for another comment.
So, my day so far has been a disaster, and it's not over yet.
Got up and got both of us ready. The weather was looking a bit dodgy so I carefully sorted out all the things for the pram, jacket etc. for baby, and we were off. I had to go into work to sort out yet MORE paperwork, I'm beginning to think it's not worth it for crappy maternity pay that the Greek government probably won't be able to pay.
At work, baby's size being duely discussed, and the heavens open with the most incredible thunder and lightening display, making baby and me jump and cry. I wait it out at work.
Going back to the bus, it rains again and I try to avoid annoying helpful people telling me the baby's getting wet (under the plastic rain shield??) and that I should have brought an umbrella (they were, annoyingly, right!!).
Baby is crying on the damp, steamy bus (unpleasant) and more people come to peer in help.
Switch to the tram, still in the rain. baby cries a bit then stops. As i get off, old greek man tells me that my baby has stopped crying. I thank him and try not to punch him.
Get home, soaked, and feed baby. Baby does explosive up the back poo, and pukes as i carry him down the corridor to be changed. Clean up, and for lack of places to put him that aren't poo-covered, put him on the bed (you can see what's coming). Change MY clothes, which are wet and pooey. Baby pees on the bed, nicely missing the muslin i'd hopefully placed under him.
I've run away to MN with a cuppa before heading out again to the accountant with MORE bits of paper, to collect a measly 91 euro cheque (I know I should be grateful but..) that the government can't pay yet as they have no money!
Joy! Feel better after that mega-rant (sorry
) and will treat myself to a Cinnabon on the way home. For those that don't know, cinnabon is a sticky cinnamon bun (duh!) the size of your head, with various cream cheese frosting, pecans and chocolate things. Yum!
