and u guys even have not only the time but the inspiration to cook stuff too. I brought a tiny 1.5L slow cooker today. Does anyone use one? I have no idea what to do in one but i want to give it a go, i really need to do cooking. The last batch of food i made for D he didnt like so that was a big waist of time.
mylife fed up of sunday dinners??? how, i hardly ever have one cos, again, DH doesnt really like them, but its defo my dinner of choice.....or curry of course! so im jelouse of ur plans for ur folks.
My Mom has just come out of her second hip op today and it sounds like all is well, we skyped yesterday which was lovely, but its hard not being able to go see her. I havent told my folks my news yet, think im defo gona wait till the scan, and maybe even the test results because im quite anxious about that too.

mlic I can't believe you cook different meals for everyone! I did an asparagus and red pepper risotto at lunch but DH decided he didn't want rice so he had leftover butternut squash soup from yesterday (and then ate L's leftover risotto and wished he'd had some after all Grin) and then we got pizza in for tea while the dc had sandwiches. I just couldn't be doing with different meals for everyone. Welcome to the dark side of 6pm bedtimes :)

tsc I've never made dauphinoise pots, may well have to give them a go though, the recipe always looks delicious.

viks I don't know how you haven't told them! My mum's always the 3rd person to know, just can't keep it secret from her.

dh is D better now or still clingy?

S is teething, I can just about see one top tooth so it most likely is that combined with missing his usual naptime by being at a car boot. I find with both of mine if they aren't in bed by 12.30 they don't sleep for the rest of the day which makes outings pretty tricky.

Chulita · 21/05/2011 22:11

I was here, I just had a phone call from my sister Shock she never rings me. Lovely though :)

Dylthan · 21/05/2011 22:11

I'm here mlic i've got a stinker of a cold again the joys of having a child in school/nursery d is just a germ magnet. So I'm feeling sorry for myself.

B had a nap of 3hrs today Shock it was lovely since I'm not feeling great I snuggled up with d and dh and watched a narnia film. But I have a horrible feeling that I'll pay for that nap tonight.

Chulita · 21/05/2011 22:13

dylthan I always think that colds in the summer are far worse than in the winter. You kind of expect them when it's rubbish outside but not beyond April.

I hope so Smile

Anyway I'm off to bed now keep your fingers crossed for a good night for me (wishful thinking) and here's hoping all other thread babes sleep well tonight.

WhatSheSaid · 21/05/2011 22:39

vik you will cope with 2, honest Smile. And slow cookers - I don't have one but some people swear by them, could prob find some recipes on MN or if you google. Meant to be great for getting a meal on early in the day so you don't have to worry about it later when you have 2 children clawing at you for attention.

mlic rubbsih about student loans people, hope you at least have a sense of satisfaction from finishing the other thread off Grin.

Haven't had a repeat of the 4.30 hell wake up but she is still waking between 5-5.30 despite putting her to bed later, she is jsut wide awake, ready to get up. Bringing her into our bed doesn't work. No dribbling or other signs of teething.

I'm thinking of moving her to one sleep a day as that may work or it might all turn to shit even more

hope you're all well, we're busy busy so only quickly reading all the messages

malibustac · 22/05/2011 01:53

Viks you will be fine with 2, its only natural to worry. Any word on scan date?

Aw dythlan hope your all better soon

Dh is it a new tooth with D?

Tsc dinner sounds lovely. How's F and C? Any word on bar job?

Wss maybe dropping her daytime nap will make her sleep longer especially now she's walking. Do they not say that when they learn something new theirsleep pattern alters for a bit?

Mlic hope your not up to early, very impressed with your weekly menus. Did you find your book?

Chulita meant to ask did the doc agree to allergy testing for "?

Trudyla you sound like your having your 2nd trimester energy boost. What happened with the wooden toy only friends?

Wwedding was an amazing emotional day not a dry eye in the house. Pictures are on fb if anyone fancies a look. In other news a friends niece was emergency sectioned today as baby heart rate was dropping, luckily mother and are doing fine. We were worried as her first baby was still born.

Oh and to add to all the summer colds R is loaded but bootcamp has. Been a success but as she isn't getting it!

kkfairybrains · 22/05/2011 02:55

Hi!! just home so just dropping in to say hello. Will catch up properly at some stage but what have i missed?
Had an amazing time and have a serious sad face on me being home :( ellie was so good and absolutely loved it!
Anyway off to bed so will fill you in at some stage. Hope everyone is well!

Chulita · 22/05/2011 06:32

Sod's freaking law. DH was getting up with S this morning, then he got called into work at 5.30am.

Welcome home kkfairy.

Chulita · 22/05/2011 06:34

wss fwiw (ie nothing) S had one nap yesterday, in bed at 6pm and slept til 5.45. It's a one off though most likely.

WhatSheSaid · 22/05/2011 07:11

Glad you had a great time kk

I've known babies to go to one sleep from this age, it's quite young but I reckon it might be worth a go.

Not sure about doing it tomorrow tho, G managed to bite her tongue today falling over in the park and has a big cut on her tongue Sad so she isn't really eating anything and will prob need lots of feeding and sleeps for next day or two while it heals.

Trudyla · 22/05/2011 07:21

Welcome back kk. Glad you had a nice time. You have to tell us all about it. How was E on the plane?

Oh, poor G WSS. You're right, probably not the right time to start a new regime. Hope you'll both be OK.

chulita Sod's sodding law. Your DH's work sounds like a freaking nightmare.

cake How was your show? Chooo, choooo.

Stac Glad you had a nice time at the wedding. How was the rest of the night with R?

My friend didn't say anything about the plastic toy (and the other friends decided to not bring the toy gun Grin ) so it was a nice afternoon. It's cute how M grins when she sees another baby, especially a younger one.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday.

chulita D is still really clingy, its just so hard to get anything done and Im now ill from the stress and lack of sleep.

stac no new teeth I dont think, its hard to have a good look though!

He was really sick again at half 5 this morning, I dont know whats causing it, he didnt have wind. Im going to take him to the docs on Mon if hes still bad.

CakeandRoses · 22/05/2011 08:20

see mlic see?! The terrible behaviour (E's behaviour at nursery etc) precedes the actual teething. it always happens like that here - F will be a monster for a few days which I think is due to the hormones which kick the teething off and then a few days later he'll start saying his teeth hurt, drooling, off his food and screaming at night again.

the bloody awful thing is is that it's literally one 'corner' of molar each time so there's still fuck-loads to come.

hope E's is quick

I lost it this morning...............like proper lost it. Im obviously a lot more stressed and tired than i realized. I know i have had a short fuse and been horrid the last few days but this morning, im ashamed to say i banged the wall in upset rage and told D to be quiet! DH was up like a shot cos i headed straight into D's room, i think he thought i was going to do something bad but i wasnt, i was imediatly sorry and needed to make sure i hadnt upset him. D had woken at 4.35, for the first time all night, but after 10 mins of on off moaning he ss, great. But he only stayed asleep for 20mins, just enough time for me to drop off and he starts again. And he spent the next aaaaaagggggggggeeeesss moaning, winging, talking etc but not full on crying at all so i left him but i could feel my anger rising. I went in in the end but i refuse to get him up, so mylife look away now, i went down stairs and sorted a dummy and gave it to him. Half haur later he was still going on, thats when i lost it. Strangly though, when i went in, i just turned him over put the dummy in and he went off to sleep untill 8.15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! weird. Of course i was a blubbering wreck due to being ashamed, stressed, headache, tired so i didnt go back to sleep straight away but did eventually. He is the brightes, happiest baby ever now and has been playing quietly since we got up.
Does everyone still milk feed from bottles? i have been reading Gina Ford again and she suggests that the morning and lunch time milk feed should both be from a beaker between 9 and 12 months.
