memphis A (my dd1) wasn't affected by the MMR jab at all. She may have slept a bit longer that day

CakeandRoses · 23/05/2011 22:00

yy memph, like wss i've known plenty of children who weren't affected by the mmr. I only know one other child in RL who was affected as much as F was.

memphis83 · 23/05/2011 22:07

L is one 7 weeks Tuesday

CakeandRoses · 23/05/2011 22:15

get upduffed, get upduffed, get upduffed Grin

tbh, your dh sounds lovely and ime, all great men have really annoying families. tis totally weird but true. look at wss's inlaws for instance.

memphis83 · 23/05/2011 22:27

cakes dont get me started, its the bloody car boot sales fault having to sell L's clothes!! b ut its not happening for at least a year or so, although the bloody neurologist said I should take contraseptives due to risk of another stroke, I laughed at him! dh is lovely but his family are warped, my boyfriend before him had no family just a few great aunts so that was a few years where I was deluded and thought oh wouldnt it be nice if he had family! It gave me a shock when I got with dh!!!

argh I was away all weekend, got home tomorrow night and have kept having enough time to catch up with the thread but never to reply! and now I can't even begin to remember all the things people have said to reply to!

wss, sounds like it may be a good natural time to stop. I think I would do the same if J did that.

trudyla you are NOT a bad mum! You just have a clingy baby! Nothing you did wrong or otherwise - and I'm sure she will grow into a happy independent, well-attached little girl.

Here they like to do MMR and the 12 month boosters all at once, but I think that sounds like far too much for their systems to cope with. I'm going to get J his 12 month boosters and then the MMR at 13 months, I think.

First birthday plans - like tsc we're planning to get J christened on his first birthday weekend so that people don't have to travel twice/buy two presents or whatever. The plan is to have a picnic in the park after the service, or possibly in our living room if it's pouring. Must do some planning and inviting. DH's parents are on holiday then which is a bit annoying.

J enjoyed camping, he slept pretty well apart from waking all confused at 5am and was upset till I fed him. He then slept till after 8am but I could not get back to sleep, I was cold and uncomfortable! grr. The wedding was fun, it was very laid back and there were lots of babies and small kids so that was good.

J had the runny poo/shitty balls thing all last week, but it's cleared up now (thankfully). It was not fun to go back to the days of a complete change of clothes at every pooey nappy.

He is SO nearly crawling now - he does a kind of yogic flying version with his feet caught underneath him. If there's something he desperately wants he can propel himself across the room somehow and get there eventually. He's also beginning to pull himself up but again with feet together and knees out. He was doing it in the play pen at the swimming pool today (DH went off to work with the pushchair in the boot of the car so I had to take J in the sling and had nowhere to put him down apart from the grubby play pen) and kept sliding down and whacking his head on the bars...

The last two days he's only had one nap - it's quite nice only having to worry about getting him off to sleep once, but I'm not sure if this is the end of the second nap just yet.

Booked our holiday - off to Ireland (Cork and Kerry) in a couple of weeks (ash cloud permitting). Should be good!

x-posted tsc, sorry to hear F is being such a pickle. hope he settles really soon.

CakeandRoses · 23/05/2011 22:52

i would just get him up and cuddle him and keep a check on him tsc

hope things improve there

Anyone have a bad experience with pampers? I bought some at the weekend and Rs in a mess. But it could be teething.

Sounds like a lot of lo's struggling on here at the moment, here's hoping they are better soon.

Trudy sending hugs and could only repeat what the others said that you are doing a good job.

Memphis really feel for your dh he must be so embaressed, hope you get out of your trip.

Tsc has franks settled?

Woods who's wedding were you at? Did you camp in a tent? Some tents are better equipt than some house lol

Still not great here, hope to wake up better.

tsc how was your night?
stac I have had a few bad experiences but 2 weeks ago L had them on for 2 days and although metanium cleared it up the open wounds were so big he has dark purple scarring on his cheeks, think its a reaction to the jelly stuff in them plus when I take his nappies off his bum feels dry but in them it was soaking.

ive been up for ages, gasping for a cuppa and breakfast but got to go back to the hospital for a load of fasting blood tests!!! also need a nerve test on my hand and foot but got to wait for that, he has also given me 3 months to lose 10 pounds or im going to have to look at extreme weightloss!!! need to get below 10 stone or they may have to take me off some tablets as im too heavy for them to work!! L slept ok with a few dummy wakes

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/05/2011 07:43

stac I always use pampers as I dont like Huggies, they leak. Ive never had any problems with them. Do you mean she's had bad poos because of the nappies? Or shes got nappy rash?

malibustac · 24/05/2011 08:04

Memphis I had used them before and

CakeandRoses · 24/05/2011 08:18

sorry, never used them here either stac. we use the naturecare ones, F literally never had a nappy rash (despite having super-sensitive skin Confused) and A's had a few rashes but none of them horrific other than the one she had as a newborn which may have been thrush.

sorry for your crap night mlic, i always feel hung over the day after a crying session - do you?

bad night here too which was just what i needed before this work meeting

trudy sorry forgot to answer you - a couple of months ago, i contacted one of the directors at my company to ask if he had any roles for me in his team and he set this meeting up. Have done lots of prep for it so I'm feeling fairly confident i'm not going to come across like a complete twat but i'm a bit nervous too, not least about what to wear

also, ladies, i had a milestone yday as i decided to finally colour my hair as i was finding a grey hair most days Sad i feel like its done well to last me au naturel til 39.5 but it's time to retire the old fox. anyway, i used this lentil-weavery natural one which looked like my natural colour [what strand test? emoticon] but it's lightened/gingered my hair - surely it shouldn't do that? kk? tbh, the length of my hair is an identical colour to before it's just the top/roots so i guess they must normally be darker. it was a bit of a shock but i think it looks ok now. dh said it's nice for summer but prefers it darker

also A is suddenly bf like it's going out of fashion. teething or growth spurt?

BAD nght here, DH hs gona to work in a bad mood and its really annoyed me. He always goes on about how it makes him feel, wtf man, does he not think i feel the same ffs! He wasnt the one up at 6.20 with D. He isnt the one sorting the stuff for the childminder for three days worth of everything, he isnt the one washing bottles and steralizing and feeding breakfast and inbetween all that trying to get ready for work myself. Which incidentally i have failed at because he didnt get up till 7.40, a lovely lie in huh, and he still moans and is in a 'quiet' mood like its my frigging fault that we lay there last night for 50mins listening to D winge! I have decided to be more consistent and to not go in as much again because his night waking is getting out of hand again and he HAS to remember he can settle himself, he does it at other times but just cant seem to do it in the dead of night. I know its difficult, it really is but blimey, grow the fuck up man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the rant, i had to get it out before i go to work!!!
Deep breath..........thank you ladies..........as u were...........

to be clear, my hair is now the same colour all over which is a coppery colour, it must have previously been naturally darker at the roots.

Please excuse last message dd sent it for me

Dh she hasn't had bad poo's just seems pampers bring out a sore bum on her. Sounds like what memphis was saying about a reaction to the gel as she has had a sore bum a couple of times with it. It seems they don't keep the urine away from her bum as well Confused. Strange how things work for some kids and not for others.

Memphis what do you use? I usually use asdas own hope the blood tests go well.

Mlic sorry your having a shitty time, hope the boys nap so you get a break todday.
