argh I was away all weekend, got home tomorrow night and have kept having enough time to catch up with the thread but never to reply! and now I can't even begin to remember all the things people have said to reply to!
wss, sounds like it may be a good natural time to stop. I think I would do the same if J did that.
trudyla you are NOT a bad mum! You just have a clingy baby! Nothing you did wrong or otherwise - and I'm sure she will grow into a happy independent, well-attached little girl.
Here they like to do MMR and the 12 month boosters all at once, but I think that sounds like far too much for their systems to cope with. I'm going to get J his 12 month boosters and then the MMR at 13 months, I think.
First birthday plans - like tsc we're planning to get J christened on his first birthday weekend so that people don't have to travel twice/buy two presents or whatever. The plan is to have a picnic in the park after the service, or possibly in our living room if it's pouring. Must do some planning and inviting. DH's parents are on holiday then which is a bit annoying.
J enjoyed camping, he slept pretty well apart from waking all confused at 5am and was upset till I fed him. He then slept till after 8am but I could not get back to sleep, I was cold and uncomfortable! grr. The wedding was fun, it was very laid back and there were lots of babies and small kids so that was good.
J had the runny poo/shitty balls thing all last week, but it's cleared up now (thankfully). It was not fun to go back to the days of a complete change of clothes at every pooey nappy.
He is SO nearly crawling now - he does a kind of yogic flying version with his feet caught underneath him. If there's something he desperately wants he can propel himself across the room somehow and get there eventually. He's also beginning to pull himself up but again with feet together and knees out. He was doing it in the play pen at the swimming pool today (DH went off to work with the pushchair in the boot of the car so I had to take J in the sling and had nowhere to put him down apart from the grubby play pen) and kept sliding down and whacking his head on the bars...
The last two days he's only had one nap - it's quite nice only having to worry about getting him off to sleep once, but I'm not sure if this is the end of the second nap just yet.
Booked our holiday - off to Ireland (Cork and Kerry) in a couple of weeks (ash cloud permitting). Should be good!
