I liked the CRESH acronym more than FESH so have used it. Welcome all ESH to your final stop on the journey. Rest your aching lady bits, try one of the many gin based cocktails, and try to molest the gorgeous waiting staff.

Yes I find BF a five year old somewhat repulsive. I feel for him when he is a teenager and his mates find the clip. Poor child.

I lived in Sydney in 2000/2001

Peppa is in her best outfit as we are off for a posh lunch today in centre of that there London with work colleagues. She is very excited and has promised to sleep behave so mummy can have a nice time. Let's hope she doesn't puke or shit over me, herself or anyone else.

Silv I use Medela. I sometimes get out heaps, sometimes a piss poor amount. I find if I don't think about it or look at it while pumping I get out more.

FannyPriceless · 14/04/2011 12:16

Were you there for the Olympics?

CurlyCasper · 14/04/2011 12:29

Hi all, everyone is healthier here now, lingering coughs aside, but me wee girl is still a bit of a misery guts. It's getting me down because I can't seem to make her happy. Bet she's being fine for her dad today.

I don't suppose anyone is free to do some sort of ESH activity on the 29th? I am off but SFF isn't and I really cannot be arsed with the Royal Wedding.

Hope lunch is good okes. Squeaks will be getting dressed up for a party on Monday but I won't be there, so SFF can deal with the resulting mess. Any ideas on gifts for 3 year olds? (boy and girl?)

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 14/04/2011 13:37

VAGWorld update: snot and some more snot Also snot, coughing and no sleep due to same. Also small boy with allergy to having his nose wiped. On the upside, weaning seems to be going ok, though to be fair Clint's diet for the last two weeks has been carrot, sweet potato or parsnip. I must get mushin' some other items. Not bananas though, since they are the Work Of Satan.

And while we are chatting about it, Cos is there any virtue in sticking to bm and never using formula? I am happy bf'ing though am hoping to spend a dirty weekend night away from Clint with TSF one day. I express but only 3-4oz a time so would take a bit of effort to get enough together. I'm just wondering whether I am making life unnecessarily difficult - though I have so far managed to avoid gaining any knowledge re the assembly, storage and use of formula .

CC glad you are feeling better. Thumps to everyone else.

Cosmosis · 14/04/2011 14:03

VAG, depends how purist you are ;) It depends how you look at it, is he already on solids, I can?t remember? If so, all the major benefits of BF are in the past, his virgin gut is no longer virgin anymore, so a weekend without BF is neither here nor there.

Obv to some who think formula is the devil then of course you are liable to poison baybee just by having him took at the tin. But in the real world populated by actual people then give it, especially if you find expressing hard (But if it?s just a 24 hour trip, then you?ll only need to leave around 25oz, so getting 4 oz per expression sesh means not that long till you?ve got enough).

Seriously of course if we are being honest there are health benefits to the baby to be ebf for the first 6m, it?s why it?s the recommended feeding method, but it?s not like we have the dangers of ffing in a country with no safe drinking water and all that jazz is it? I

Some babies won?t drink formula if they?re used to BM though, so if you do decide to do that, try it before you go to make sure, you don?t want to starve him!

AlpinePony · 14/04/2011 14:08

I'm not sure cossie. She lives in Sarf London doesn't she? That's virtually 3rd world! Wink

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 14/04/2011 14:15

Thanks Cos - that is kind of what I was thinking about it all too so it is nice to have it confirmed by our resident expert! As for virgin gut, I pretty much think that is shot now due to Clint's fanatical licking of anything/anyone within reach. Re the 24hrs away, I guess I could express and freeze before transporting to the gp's (hr or so, traffic permitting) and if it thaws on the way it is still ok to use, I think. Ahhh - the fantasy of a night away.....sleeping, eating, reading, not doing anything very much Now I have to man up and think about leaving Clint. .

Nappy change - Clint ended up with poo on his sleeve by the shoulder. AIBU to have considered that poo was flicked around yet not to search for other possible landing sites about my person? Likey the weaning poo though, far less sloshy/squirty.

AlpinePony · 14/04/2011 14:18

VAG Whenever we're away from Bear (i.e., rare meals out when grandparents are here or he's in creche) or when one of us has been away overnight - all we fucking do is talk about him and how much we miss him. HmmGrin

Okiecokie · 14/04/2011 16:57

Yes FP synchronised swimming is my bag Wink

Lunch was a success! Hurrah! Peppa did not sleep but was happily passed around table, smiled and chuckled and did not vom or crap on anyone = success. We had a little look in Selfridges and looked mainly at bags and shoes but did not buy any. I am now questioning whether I want to move away from 3rd world London as I luve it I do.

Muser · 14/04/2011 17:00

Don't leave London! It is ace.

Right. Small child is asleep and snoring on my chest. She'll wake up if I move her won't she? But I must make PIE!

PerfectDromedary · 15/04/2011 03:00

Meds so pleased to see you here and to know your little one is home. Enjoy your much-needed family time! And pliz to down these several shots.

AlpinePony · 15/04/2011 07:30

Brilliant to have you medee, and I'm very much looking forward to your birth story. So glad you're home and getting to start all the fun stuff. And yes, if anyone deserves champagne cocktails, it's you!

SilverSky · 15/04/2011 08:01

Welcome Welcome!!!!!!!! Lovely to have you "home" in the CRESH!

Cosmosis · 15/04/2011 09:33

So pleased you're here medee :)

I had a major wobble last night. At work, someone had been asking if Artie had tasted any chocolate yet and I said no, and she was telling me about the wonder on the face of her children the first time they tasted it. Then I picked him up and he's had chocolate angel delight for pudding. So I got home and bawled. I think it just sunk in that he will spend most of his time with someone else and I will miss so many firsts. I can't bear the thought that he will know her better than he knows me.

When TGO gets home from work he gets all giggles and excitement. When I pick Artie up from the CMs he doesn't even look at me. Of course I'm happy he's settled there and isn't spending the day screaming for me, but AIBU to want a little reaction to me appearing??????

SilverSky · 15/04/2011 09:42

Ditto cos! Knowing the way things work I'll probably miss MBs first steps. I'm dealing with these kind of situations very maturely by NOT THINKING ABOUT IT.

Cosmosis · 15/04/2011 09:43

That's what I was doing silv but I kind of have to now and I am so sad.

AlpinePony · 15/04/2011 10:01

cossie Calm thyself, chocolate angel delight is not the same as chocolate. If you like I can send you some pralines made with GOOD chocolate (filled with allergens like ground up nuts obv.). I've had a couple of days when I've gone to pick him up and he's given me that "bovvered" look, but at the same time when I go out the back to pick up his bag he gets upset because I'm out of sight. Yesterday I left the house before he was awake and when I got home he was in bed, my arrival home made the dogs bark and work him up, so I nipped upstairs to say hello/g'night and he got so excited I had to bring him back downstairs for half an hour because there was no way he was going to sleep. You're his mummy and nobody else, and you'll be the first one to give him peanut butter/sushi/curry/aubergine - you're the first one to brush his teeth, to get that slabbery french kiss. He'll come to you more than TGO. He won't know her better. When he goes to bed at night he sees mummy, when he wakes up in the morning he sees mummy, and if he's still in your room he sees mummy. When you've got that seat on the bicycle he'll see mummy's arse and when he's hungry he'll see mummy's tits. Game on! Grin

Even if we were all to become SAHMs you know fo sho that the little blighter is going to take his first steps/first intelligible sentence when you nip out for 30 minutes to yourself and it'll be the dad who sees it.
