Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Becaroooo · 20/04/2011 21:07

carrie thank you We have another appt tomorrow which is making me more anxious I think....

I do that to dh ALL the time.....chortle...

FannyPriceless · 20/04/2011 21:36

mrsa What happy news!

bec You poor thing - it is good to cry though. And anytime you need a Wine I'm sure one of us will be happy to virtually join you.

debi Wow, fab for the triathlon! I have done a sprint one but only as part of a team (I did the 5 km run). I could never do the swim. I have to rest in between every length when I swim at the pool.Blush But my greatest achievement was a 20 km cycle race a few years back. I had never done anything like that before, and only got the bike a week before the race. I just looked up my time on line... 46 min. You are making me nostaglic for when I used to be a fit and active young thing.

carrie I am wondering about DS's first haircut. He currently alternates between Tin Tin, Hitler, and Ken Dodd.Confused It was never a problem for DD at this age as it just grew into little girl hair. In fact she didn't have a haircut until she was two. But DS just looks odd.

CappuccinoCarrie · 20/04/2011 22:17

fanny does your DS have very straight hair? If so I'd get to a barbers that specialises in children! All other hair is quite forgiving of novice mummy cuts I find, can you strap him in the high chair in front of cbeebies have a go...?! And Ken Dodd is kinda retro cool!

I can't even bring myself to enter the discussion about exercise Grin

ninja · 21/04/2011 07:35

Just checking in after the juggling convention.

We had a great time, the weather was amaing whivh made it easier to entertain the kids.

DD1 can now balloon model, hula hoop a bit (as can I!), basic diablo and loved the freedom of running around the convention by herseld or with her cousins.

M is now proficient with a scooter and very good at running away in the opposite direction to the one I want her to go Grin

I had a go at a german wheel see here which was fab!

It was lots of fun even if I did spend most of my time running after M and even if most people there had a completely different timetable from us (they'd be juggling/unicycling/hula hooping .... all night and not up until the afternoon!).

There were some amazing shows as well - a fire show and a gala show at the playhouse... the kids even took part in a show.

It was good to be away at not thinking about the whole situation here, but got back to H telling me that he'd been to see a couple of houses, put an offer in on one that had been accepted and when could I buy him out of the house Sad. He's telling me to sort it out quickly and not be a twat ......

Debs75 · 21/04/2011 10:54

Wow Ninja that wheel looks scary. Glad you had a good time.
Sorry the situation with H is still a bit grim. Is it a possibility you can buy him out or is he the one being a twat?

A long night here with DD1's friends round for a sleepover. Robyn loved it and when they sat down for a pizza she got a plate and muscled her way in. she then delighted them all by pumping several times. I don't know who is weirder, Robyn or a bunch of 15 year olds?

Really looking forward to going to centreparcs tomorrow

Becaroooo · 21/04/2011 11:02

ninja you be a twat???? yeah......right.....wrong way round there Angry no need for that ffs...(sorry feeling slightly hormonal!)

Off to appt in a moment...ds1 may be having an audio test - if the equipment is working!! - and if they feel he does have APD we need a referral to GOSH. Sad

He may need to see a behavioural optometrist too...

hey ho.....

enjoy the sunshine ladies x

notcitrus · 21/04/2011 12:52

Hairdresser good with children is a must! Actually managed the first no-tears haircut for a year for A last week, thanks to lovely hairdresser, large sofa and the mesmerising powers of CBeebies. She was crawling all round him to make both sides match!

A is now in the middle of chicken pox and starting to get blisters all over - luckily he seems only a little under the weather and all the spots are under his t-shirt and he doesn't seem to care. So apart from being confined to the garden for the weekend it could be much worse. Luckily the shed is now finished as we've had most of the garden under tarpaulins for the last year, so we actually have a garden to be in!

Glad the juggling convention was fun ninja

ninja · 21/04/2011 14:00

Hope the appointment went well Bec, it must be a worry. I'm intrigued by what a behavioural optometrist does ....

Becaroooo · 21/04/2011 20:23

Hi all.

ninja Appt went well but am pretty tired....

Roll on the weekend!!!!

(best advice I can give you is to google it! I would only confuse you with my description!!!!)

Meglet · 22/04/2011 09:11

Good morning. I have locked myself into my bedroom so I can have breakfast in peace. I think that says it all about last nights lack of sleep and this mornings hell-raising Angry.

ninja I saw your fb photos and wondered what you'd been up to. It looked like a wonderful break.

LOL at your DS's "I'm rudey dudey like daddy" comment Grin carrie!

Becaroooo · 22/04/2011 13:47

sigh...have just changed the worst nappy I have ever changed in my nearly 6 years of nappy changing experience!!! Shock

Toby is such a nightmare wrt nappies...he will not tell me when he has pooed and if I dont see him poo I dont always know IYSWIM?

Anyway, got to about noon and I thought I ought to change it as he hadnt been changed since 8.30 ish and.......urrghhh....

It was EVERYWHERE...how could I not have smelt it????? How???

It was up his back, down both his thighs and calves and even in his socks wtf????

Maybe he wont be really for potty training in July?????? Sad

DebiTheScot · 22/04/2011 22:07

eeewwwwww bec ds2 did one a few weeks ago that got in his socks. Thankfully he was at the childminders at the time!

fanny that's a good cycle time. I'm hoping for about 50 mins but might be being optimistic! The one I'm doing can be done as a relay so every time someone passes me I'll just tell myself tehy must be only doing 1 part of it Grin

Just applied for Olympic tickets. DH was so adament that we won't get everything we want that he convinced me to go for all 6 events on our shortlist. That was before we realised that our credit cards are mastercard and so we'd have to use our current account. I'm so annoyed that they will take £300 off us at some point within a month period but we won't know if we've got any tickets until after then.

Meglet · 23/04/2011 08:10

becaroo We are getting some grim nappies from DD at the moment. Her second molars are coming through. I'd forgotten how icky teething poo is.

debi I think we're going to apply for afternoon stadium tickets for the crappier / cheaper days. The mornings are 'only' £20 but we'd never get there for a 10am start so will try for the later session instead.

Happy Dragon to you all!

Becaroooo · 23/04/2011 09:07

meg ahh, that makes sense...Toby is getting his back ones too

Why dragon? What have I missed?

Check out my facebook profile pic, that was fun!!

ninja · 23/04/2011 21:15

Sad ILTMIMI, I remember us all being that 2 and a half years ago Grin

DebiTheScot · 23/04/2011 21:28

ninja it's a St George's Day dragon. Took me a while to figure it out too!
Can I be your fb friend?

meglet don't forget the deadline for tickets is Tuesday.

We went to a farm park today which was fab. Both boys loved the animals and the play parks. It has go-karts, trampolines, toy tractors, normal park stuff as well as all the farm animals. It was the 1st part of ds1's birthday treat. His birthday is Monday and we're going sailing but he doesn't know.

Meglet · 23/04/2011 21:54

I was sunbathing at 37 weeks pg with DD Blush. I think I'm wired up wrong. I'm like one of those cold-blooded lizards that has to sit in full sun to warm up.

debi I'm seeing my mum tomorrow (who is in charge of organising the family Olympic outing) so we'll probably sort it out then.

I've just eaten the first of the DC's Easter Eggs, don't want them eating too much choc do I Wink?

DebiTheScot · 23/04/2011 22:34

I was wrong about the payment btw. They only take the money for what you've been successful at getting but they don't tell you what it is until the end of June.

ninja · 23/04/2011 23:17

Hi Debi of couse you can. My initials are A B and I'm friends with quite a few people on this thread, I might try and find you! Thanks for the St George's info - I should have realised that!

Meglet · 23/04/2011 23:20

debi ninja's on my fb if it helps.

ninja just saw your profile pic Grin. Didn't you feel queasy?!

I've eaten 2 Easter eggs now Blush, They still have 3 each

ninja · 23/04/2011 23:32

I think I might have found Debi (or at least a Debi) finger's crossed.

It was a bit disorientating but 2 of us did it at the same time which helped.

I also did a baloon modelling workshop which was fun but not nearly so dramatic Grin. I can however, make a teddy bear from modelling balloons!!

DebiTheScot · 24/04/2011 22:19

You found me ninja [busmile]
Am I missing any of you other regulars on fb?

DS1's 5th birthday tomorrow. How did that happen?!?
We're going sailing on our friend's boat. It's exactly the same as this one:
www.bluereachcharters.eu/yacht.php
I'm very excited but also a bit scared as my triathlon friend is coming too and she has decided we've going for a proper swim in the sea.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 24/04/2011 23:22

Ooh ninja you're not on my fb. If you search for 'imoscarsmum' you'll find me. My photo is of C holding hands with a huge peppa and george :)
