Imagine a young man embarking on his first attempt at sexual penetration.

I wish I could spend more time with you lot, but my MN allowance is often spent in the SN section being counselled or counselling.

Some of the things that happen to families to disabled children just would not be believed on the main board or in real life, and the regulation of these barbaric practises are almost entirely responsible.

It smacks of conspiracy theories and just would not be believed anywhere else. ALthough, sadly, a number from this group can be found over there.

starlight can't imagine how tough it us and I'm really lucky I don't have that to deal with.

MrsA I have about 20 little lamb 1st size reusable nappies, with covers and 15 Motherease small Sandys which Lucy is just growing out of. More then enough to be a complete birth to 9-12months kit. They wash really well, never leak and the sandys aren't too bulky that you need bigger clothes. If you want them I am happy to sell them on. We desperately need the room and money tbh. Let me know if you are interested.

Ninja I don't want to be harsh but you sound like an enabler with h. Why would you buy him out of the holiday when he has been living rent free in your home in your bed? Tell him as you have split up you will be going with the dd's and your sis whilst he moves out. If he moans about one last holiday remind how hard it was on the last holiday and that it isn't fair to string the dd's along. Better still get him to move out before you go so you can get the locks changed and he can't get back in.

Xmas is off and hols next year too probably as we are going private to get ds1 the help he needs.

Shouldnt have to, but thats the reality for us.

It's okay, - I'm sure everyone knows what you mean. The SN boards are for a very specific purpose and I would be in a much worse place without them.

MrsA - good luck with it all. I find writing points down really helps me in medical appointments and seems to get me taken more seriously. And certainly glad to offer any real nappy expertise that I've built up so far!

Most useful advice I got was from SIL who gave me a bag of random nappy bits and said "it's not rocket science, it's bits of cloth to mop up wee"!

Much sympathy to ninja and to starlight, becaroo and others dealing with crap SN 'support'. Friends of mine are fighting to get their child with obvious needs the support he needs to start school, and every post they make I'm just left going 'wtf??' It's no consolation that the old special school system was even worse.

I do despair of a fair bit of the medical profession - saw two new specialists yesterday, one wasn't expected to really help. I tried to summarise my relevant musculo-skeletal history. He poked my feet a bit and said "Yes, that would mainly be because one of your legs is nearly an inch longer than the other."! Why did none of the previous zillion physios, osteos, consultants etc (over 30 in the last 20 years) notice this??
At least the next one who looked at my neck confirmed that I'm right, I've never been in a car crash or similar and don't in fact have whiplash, unlike the last two who told me I must have been in a car crash and forgotten about it - as you do...

NC I have heard stories on the SN boards that beggar belief I do hope your friends get some help for their dc.

Got my referral to see the rheumatoid arthritis clinic. It was cancelled (apparently I need the early RA clinic which is a specialist one)
Heard nothing for ages so rang them....my appt was the preceeding day but no one had informed me! (Got the letter telling me about the appt 2 days later)

Cue trying to get re-referred...hospital cant do it(?), choose and book cant do it (?) so has to come from GP again. Got another letter from hospital saying no appt yet, ring up in a few days. Rang yesterday. They have cancelled that referral now (?) so had to ring hospital and GP again.

No one knows whats going on and why I cant get into the Early RA clinic.

So, despite being supposed to ring me back yesterday, they didnt (yes, what a huge shock that was) so I rang them and I am now booked into the original clinic on my original appt date and time even though I have been told its the wrong clinic

Its sort of funny isnt it? Or would be if I wasnt in so much pain

Dh has just come home and told ds1 that we are taking him to "Truckfest" in 2 weeks time. Sigh. The things I do for my kids

ninj I am so sorry about your situation. All I can say is keep looking to the future, and do whatever you need to do to create that future sooner rather than later. Sending you strength - god knows you need it.

Toby was 8lbs 4oz and ds1 was 4lbs 15oz

Whenever each "new" piece of evidence comes out that ds1 is/will suffer because of his medical problems in his early life it takes me back to a very bad place I too do the "if only" conversations with myself.

I try not to as that way madness lies, but its hard.

Debs I think I would be interested in your nappies but have no idea how they work or if they would suit me. I'll pm you for a price but can you or someone else (perhaps on new thread) explain how they work - some are all in ones that have a liner i think but some don't and I'm not sure how pocket ones work too. Has anyone got an idiots guide please?

I don't have any experience of what you're going through ninja so I can't offer any advice but it's good to see others on here can (although that sounds bad actually as it means they've gone through bad stuff too)
