Hopefully after the 6 months ends here we can rent/buy something bigger!!

DebiTheScot · 19/08/2011 15:42

I just searched for houses for sale near here and one near the top is a 5 bed house with an outside pool for £650,000. DS1 is now crying because he wants to buy it and I said no!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 19/08/2011 16:05

Hope things get started now Carrie We want lovely news!!

Blimey, those rents are eye-watering! Our mortgage is (only ?? Hmm)just over a grand a month but we have a 4 bed detached with double detached garage - we are in what is perceived to be a shite bit of N Wales though and obviously only get 10 hrs a week of pre-school funding, rather than 15!! Grin

Debs75 · 19/08/2011 18:34

Debi stop searching it only ends in tears.Smile
We moved here on a medical priority for ds but as his needs are met we can't move to something bigger because of having extra kids.

There is a serious lack of 4+beds here and the council just keep building more 2 beds. If we had to we would put me and dp in the dining room but we would need a huge cull of stuff to have enough room and we would be sharing it with several kitchen cupboards and the dog

Becaroooo · 19/08/2011 18:39

We need a 3 bed pref with 2 reception rooms, a decent garden and off road parking....might as well ask for the moon atm!

Becaroooo · 19/08/2011 18:41

There is a 4 bed detached round the corner from here - nothing special, on for sale at £400,000

Shock
Becaroooo · 19/08/2011 18:52

Blimey whereabouts are you, debi ??? Shock

Tbh for what we are paying, its not bad...its in a lovely, quiet village in a quite posh cul de sac - all the other houses are barn conversions and 4 bed detached ones.

It has 2 beds, a large family bathroom, large kitchen diner, a utility cupboard Grin and a light and airy lounge. It has designated parking and a garage too.

It would be perfect if it was a 3 bed with a garden BUT that would probably cost £200-250 more pcm!

Lollyheart · 19/08/2011 18:59

Hello all.

My head hurts from looking for rented property.

Good luck Carrie look forward to you birth announcement Smile

I'm having the most crappy day today, my ds2 chucked a controller at our tv and cracked the screen inside.

I just want to run away and never return Sad

Becaroooo · 19/08/2011 19:02

Oh lolly Sorry you are having such a bad day...

No telly???

Have done NOTHING today...what a waste of a day Sad

Lollyheart · 19/08/2011 19:06

We have a 2nd one in our bedroom that we will put down stairs for now.

Why do all bad things happen at once!!

Becaroooo · 19/08/2011 19:30

I know what you mean...sometimes things really just get on top of you dont they? I think me feeling so ill today is simply all the stress over the past few weeks/months coming out....

Were supposed to be going to the cinema later but just feel too rubbish Sad

Our child free nights just seem to get wasted as either; I am ill, the dc are ill, we have jobs to do, we are too tired etc etc...

Hope things pick up for you x

CappuccinoCarrie · 19/08/2011 19:37

Still pregnant. Had one 'ouch' twinge at 6pm, first one I've had since 2:30am, so can't really say things are getting going can I?!
Did baking with the kids today - flapjacks and cupcakes, so we have treats for guests, or I can comfort eat the lot Grin. Looking forward to another nice evening with DH, never know it might be our last one for a while!

ninja · 19/08/2011 20:15

Carrie do you never stop??

DD's in Ireland - have been packing up kids toys and non-essential items for H, it might mean he can move a bit sooner Grin

I've written myself the LONGEST list of things to do while they're away, plus I'm meant to be working Hmm can't see it all happening but I'll make a start. I really want to move things around and make the place mine.

Better get of Mumsnet!!!

FannyPriceless · 19/08/2011 20:56

Oh lolly.Sad I really do hope things get better.

carrie I trust you are enjoying a lovely evening.Smile

DebiTheScot · 19/08/2011 23:14

Bec I'm in North Hampshire. Fairly expensive area but the town I live in isn't as bad as others near here. I think rental prices are high though. I know a few people who pay a lot more in rent than we do on mortgage. Our house is 4 bed semi and even without a small deposit through a key worker scheme that we got (on our old house but brought with us to this house) our mortgage wouldn't be anywhere near those rental prices. We're only 40 mins from London on the train which doesn't help.

Good luck Carrie

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 20/08/2011 08:12

lolly I hope things get better - sounds like they can't get worse!

carrie hope things might be progressing

ninja glad you're reclaiming your space. Have you told him you are? How would he react if he wasn't told?

One of my Nov ante natal thread has given birth at about 28 wks. Brought back memories of jonworf (? I think) having Katherine at 24 wks.

DP has bought a tent - it's the one we wanted and a bargain (99 when it should be 300) but he also went a bit mad with the card and bought lots of extras and spent 350!!! I give up.

Lollyheart · 20/08/2011 09:00

Thanks everyone Smile

Wow how exciting mrsA I had one with f, they are fab, I think there is a pic on my profile.

Lollyheart · 20/08/2011 09:02

Ive just read your fb status Grin and then realized you havent mentioned on here about your scan today.

Becaroooo · 20/08/2011 09:26

My sil is having a 4 d scan today....how strange I will find out what my niece looks like!!!!

I am in Derbsyhire (east mids) so house prices arent as bad as they are elsewhere.

Sending labour vibes to you carrie xxxx

Meglet · 20/08/2011 09:53

lolly DS broke our telly last year. Screen was ok but all the insides were shattered. A friend came to my rescue with her old, spare tv they never used. After the shock had worn off I was just glad DS wasn't hurt.

3 bed houses for rent are around £800 in this area Shock.

mrsA yes it was johnworf. I used to spot her on another thread when it came up in active convo's and always had a peek to see how they were getting on. Good news about the birthing pool!

DebiTheScot · 20/08/2011 12:32

Since having children I've always had accidental damage on the home insurance!

IOM cool about the tent, sounds like a good deal, what did you go for? And to be fair you do need a lot of other stuff and it won't take long for you to see the savings. Did you get a footprint? That was essential on the campsite we were on last week. If you've got a Go Outdoors near you it is worth a visit.

Debs75 · 20/08/2011 12:36

Robyn broke put telly a few months back. She put a magnet on one corner so we have a large splodge without any picture. Luckily it was a free one off a friend but we are going to claim on our insurance for it and get a lovely flat screen one. My friend once bought one from an auction for £10 then told the insurers they ahd dropped it and she got a brand new 40" flatscreen worth £700.

Meglet · 20/08/2011 16:54

We saw XP in town earlier Shock. I was feckin' terrified Sad.

He saw us. But DS was looking in the toy shop window so didn't see him and DD doesn't know him so there wasn't an incident. He just walked past with his girlfriend, just as well she was there really. I wonder if he would kick off if he was on his own.

The rest of our outing was fine. The DC's stunned me by behaving beautifully in Wagamama's, we even stayed for pudding and I didn't have to scoop up handfulls of noodles off the floor when we finished!

Becaroooo · 20/08/2011 17:43

Oh meg Sad

You ok now??

CappuccinoCarrie · 20/08/2011 19:13

Oh meglet you poor thing. Good work on the wagamamas though!
Still not in labour here...had another good run of regular tightenings but its all gone away again now :( It just gets my hopes up and then I feel even more rubbish when it becomes apparent that its not going to come to anything.
We've had a really lovely family day though (I've managed 2 naps Blush) and we even went swimming this afternoon as DDs treat for finishing her sticker chart. I was just lolling about in the baby pool, it felt glorious to be weightless for an hour. The pool was pretty empty for a saturday afternoon in August - I guess since it wasn't raining for once the parks were probably pretty full!
I'm being grumpy and don't want to go to church tomorrow, even though I know everyone will be sooo lovely (which will prob make me cry Blush) but silly me when I left last week I was saying to myself "next time I'm here the baby will be in the pram" and now of course that's not true :(
