OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Meglet · 23/06/2011 20:59

congrats notcitrus Smile.

lolly Just saw your post about fast labour on the other thread! Are you geared up for a possible home birth just in case?

debs We aren't really potty training but DD takes herself off to the potty every so often. Sometimes she does a huge wee, other times I need a maginifying glass to see it. Bless her, she has always done one though, even if it's a drip. I think we'll have another proper bash at potty training at the end of next month, we might crack it over August.

Becaroooo · 24/06/2011 07:42

NC Congrats!!!! Smile

meg We are trying PT with Toby over the summer hols too. Got his start date for pre-school - 1st Sept...eeek!! Shock

Got - conservative estimate - about 6 hours worth of ironing to do today Sad God, what a waste of time Sad

CappuccinoCarrie · 24/06/2011 11:07

NC congratulations!!! We're over the moon so excited for you!!!

bec what are you ironing?!!

we DH forgot to put DD's nappy on last night (bless him he put them to bed alone to let me have a lie down as I'd been on my feet all day) so at 5am we had to change all her bedsheets including the duvet. It took me an hour to get back to sleep so now I'm knackered with a mahooosive laundry pile to do. Thankfully I could just about fit the duvet into the washing machine and its now over the line outside, although it still smells a bit (it said to only do a wool cycle) Hoping the bleaching powers of the sun will help. The bedding will all be done on a 60o wash! We've been waiting in all morning for an ikea delivery so we're having a nice lazy one with lots of lego and tv.

DD had her first school taster session yesterday, I cried so much! I expected her to either go in without a backwards glance, or be clingy and unsure. Instead she was clearly overwhelmed but brave which was much worse! She was playing in the kitchen corner when I said goodbye, and I hovered in the corner. Then there were lots of children there so she left it and was in a sea of people - children and adults - she saw I was still in the room and ran over and grabbed my legs and said 'mummy you can go now I'll be ok' which was just so incredibly brave and grown up of her and I hardly stopped crying last night as a result! When I left the room she was on her own investigating a rock pool display on her own and I just wanted to scoop her up and take her to starbucks with me. Thankfully when I picked her up an hour later she was all smiles and was holding another girl's hand, so it all went well. Oh for pity's sake I'm crying again just relaying the story to you. Must pull self together. Got to go through it all again next tuesday

eandz · 24/06/2011 12:02

NC
congrats! sure, I'd love to meet up either on a wednesday or a weekend :)

Becaroooo · 24/06/2011 13:26

carrie Everything!!!!!...or at least it seems that way Sad

DebiTheScot · 24/06/2011 15:11

Congratulations NC that's brilliant news Smile

Carrie I had tears in my eyes at "mummy you can go now I'll be ok"

Bec don't do it! If there's kids stuff just fold it nicely, no one will notice. For your clothes think about if anyone will notice if it isn't ironed and if not just fold it or hang it nicely.

Meglet · 24/06/2011 15:20

becaroo Step. Away. From. The. Ironing.

I hang things on the line to dry, even in the rain and at night so it doesn't get too creased. I iron my work clothes, sometimes.

I'm trying to muster up the energy to pop to the supermarket. Brew Biscuit (although it was actually an M&S chocolate flapjack, not a jammy dodger).

Becaroooo · 24/06/2011 15:51

Ironing done

Have taken 2 cocodamol to get over it and am watching wimbledon now Smile

carrie oh! how lovely Have a feeling Toby will be wailing like a banshee and clinging to my legs on his first day! His first day at pre school??? How did that happen???

Isnt is lovely watching people running/jumping/thrashing around and getting all sweaty whilst you are lying on the sofa munching choc digestives??? Smile

I like the olymipcs for the buff male gymnasts same reason.

Becaroooo · 24/06/2011 17:30

ooh!!

Toby told me he loved me for the first time last night!

I tell him ALL the time and he just usually smiles and hugs me but last night he said
"I luv you too mummy. And Daddy. And Tom"

Debs75 · 25/06/2011 12:35

Congratulations NC that is great news.

Robyn has made friends at nursery. She was waving goodbye yesterday and kept shouting for Holly who then came over and said 'bye Robyn see you later' then they both giggled at each other. I felt very weepy as Robyn is always chatting to other people and she seems on the edge trying to get into the group and now she has a proper friend. My little girl is growing up

Lollyheart · 25/06/2011 17:04

6 hours of ironing Shock I never iron anything unless it looks bad, I'll do it as I need to iykwim Grin

Meglet I'm not planning a home birth although I quite like the idea as does my midwife, but dh isn't keen, the consultant put him off.

I'm so tired and grumpy, Fraser wakes at about 6.30 to go to the toilet and won't go back to bed, before he was dry at night I had to wake him up around 8!

eandz · 26/06/2011 17:59

congratulations Becarooo! I know how you must feel.

Lolly hope your getting a rest :)

ironing? I've ironed once in my entire life, and I burned the shirt--never did it again. I just say it's the 'rumpled' look.

Becaroooo · 26/06/2011 20:44

Hows things eandz ?

Meglet · 26/06/2011 23:28

bookmarking.

I had 2 sweaty, grubby, ice cream covered children this afternoon Smile. I think I got most of it off in the bath.

eandz · 27/06/2011 09:50

Things are okay :)

Socially: I've taken off evil mean women off my facebook, I've politely let the one with the biggest mouth know why I wouldn't be attending the next party.

Noah-wise: I've just written his statement, will be sharing it with someone this morning and then sending it off. We have also just started an education program with him. Hopefully it'll bring progress.

So actually, I feel we're getting on better now that I don't have the additional drama weighing me down.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us, The Big Feastival on Friday, followed by the 20 mile neon night walk (which I've been training for!!!), then on Saturday we have to get to Cambridge for my sil's convocation and then Sunday I want to do a picnic for the 4th of july (except it will be on the 3rd of july).

I'm actually excited about how positive this week sounds. Lots of happy stuff!

Becaroooo · 27/06/2011 11:06

That sounds really positive eandz Well done you!

Honestly, you dont need negative people around you at any time, let slone when dealing with all the stuff you have been dealing with wrt N.

We have a meeting with Toms HT/SENCO/teacher on thursday and I am dreading it.....fingers crossed for some good news please ladies!

Debs75 · 28/06/2011 13:25

Where has all the sun gone?Sad

Robyn starts her first no nappy day at nursery tomorrow. She is doing really well at home and has very few accidents in her knickers so we are taking the plunge. Have some skirts and lots of spare pants in her bag.

How sad am I, I am getting really excited.

eandz · 28/06/2011 13:34

it's raining cats and dogs!

Just took N to nursery and have realized I haven't changed out of my pajamas and I have nothing to do today. I've not been in this position in quite some time! I think I may do my eyebrows and a face mask.

Possibly wax my legs. Oh my goodness, the possibilities are endless!!!

Debs75 · 28/06/2011 15:44

Here's a sentence I never thought i would say...

'Robyn you cannot play jigsaws if you are going to put them in your bottom!'

Becaroooo · 28/06/2011 16:09

debs Thats cheered me up! Smile

DebiTheScot · 28/06/2011 19:06

eandz did you really take N to nursery in you pyjamas?

Debs Grin

Meglet · 28/06/2011 21:12

I would be happy if I could live in PJ's and Uggs. Don't care if all the teenagers do it, it's bloody comfy.

Mind you, one of my friends did the school run in pj's once. That was the day her car broke down!

eandz · 29/06/2011 21:30

I take everyone everywhere in my pyjamas. I'm not as glamorous as I used to be. I don't wear my uggs in the summer though, It's crocs season.

Meglet · 29/06/2011 21:34

I don't have crocs, but I bought some Birkenstocks in TK Maxx this week. I couldn't push a pushchair in flip-flops and my converse were too hot so a new pair of shoes was needed.

DD did her first wee on the toilet at nursery today and she asked to poo in the potty when we got home. Clever little sausage Smile.

CappuccinoCarrie · 30/06/2011 00:15

Well tonight took a turn for the "interesting"...we got all the baby clothes out of the loft and DH went out to play football. I got as far as separating boy and girl clothes when I got the phone call to say DH has broken his wrist again and the boys were taking him off to A&E (you may remember it was just last August that we walked this path before... ) So I spent the rest of the evening on the phone to various people sorting his work, childcare so I can visit him, someone else to play guitar at church on sunday, that kind of thing! Then his friend came back from hospital and babysat so I could go in and take DH an overnight bag and clean clothes as he's still in his football stuff!
Thankfully got an old friend visiting tomorrow which is a welcome distraction as DH will have his operation to put yet another metal plate in his wrist at some point, and I won't get to see him til visiting hours in the evening after the kids are in bed. DH should be home some time on Friday, which means cancelling my exciting Friday plans. Then we're supposed to be at a wedding on Saturday
And of course the lounge is still a sea of unsorted clothes and I now have precisely no time to sort it, and neither of us is in a position to lift it back into the loft!!!
At least I've still got 7 weeks til due date...I did imagine one of those scenarios where I go in to visit, go into labour and then we're both in hospital and totally useless to the DCs...oh and my parents are abroad
I dread to think what this is doing to my blood pressure!
