Help! I've not been on the thread for ages. Please can somebody summarise the meet ups currently planned. Is it one in Yorkshire and one at London Zoo?

Is anyone interested in a midlands one?Grin

Becaroooo · 19/05/2011 09:32

Yes I am fanny
Smile

FannyPriceless · 19/05/2011 11:10

Oooh, fab becs! I am near the Bard's town, have a massive garden, and have been known to make muffins. What about you? Any others in the middling parts? Tues, Wed or weekends are best for us.

Sorry we can't make the north or south meet ups but with two under three I don't think any of us would survive the car journey. Also I am scared of the M25.Blush

Sorry I've not been on much. It's all a bit rushed here with DS starting nursery and me starting work p/t!Confused Plus crazy house hunting.

FannyPriceless · 19/05/2011 11:14

I realise some might find this book offensive, but oh, surely we have all been in this place ourselves at some time!!Grin

Becaroooo · 19/05/2011 11:24

I am in Derbyshire Fanny.

Anyone else near the middle??? Smile

DebiTheScot · 19/05/2011 11:44

fanny my dh saw that on amazon this week and we did wonder what on earth it is. Since ds1 can read everything now I don't think we should buy it!

I still haven't looked at my calendar to think about dates for coming to my house.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 19/05/2011 16:56

OMG I have to have that book! DP would LOVE it. C is an angel sleeper but recently getting her to go to sleep is a nightmare. Once she's gone, she sleeps soundly but it's the 'mummy I want water' ' i need a wee wee (you have a bedtime nappy on darling)....' etc etc. Drives me insane. Have to confess I am not very patient and resort to threats of taking toys away if she doesn;t lie down.
Glad to know it's not just us!

Fanny a P/T job with 2 under 3s! Do tell all.
I am having nightmares about dropping C off at school in a year or so and then getting DC2 to nursery and still getting on the road to my meetings by about 8.45amish. I have tried and failed to get C downstairs for breakfast much before 8am and i reckon we need to be downstairs ready to have breakfast and go by 7.30am from next yr. I will be asking for tips!

And I'm nr Chester so the Midlands is about the same as Leeds for me, but I would only really do a Monday or Friday (or a weekend i guess. A whole day at the weekend sans child - DP would seriously owe me one).

I got my nuchal scan results back and tested low risk for Downs - a probability of less than 0.75%. Yay!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 19/05/2011 16:58

By the way i am seriously craving marmite atm. Cannot get enough.

DebiTheScot · 19/05/2011 21:20

Good news MrsA, must be a relief.
On wed, Thurs, Fri we all have to be out the house by 7.50am. It works by dh getting up first (I don't even know when Blush), making the lunches, telling ds1 to get dressed, changing ds2's bum (herefuses to get dressed until after breakfast), giving me a kick if necessary and then getting them started on their breakfast while I get dressed. Sometimes I feel bad about being so crap in the mornings but dh says it's not worth trying to get me up earlier to help as I'm crap in the mornings and would be more of a hindrence than a help!

Meglet · 21/05/2011 13:05

bookmarking....

I haven't been on MN since tuesday!! I have, however, crossed off a lot of things on my 'to do' list - lawn mowed, kitchen cupboards cleaned and organised, snotty letter to MP done, had manicure Hmm Grin.

Meglet · 21/05/2011 13:08

fp I just snorted at that book Grin.

splishsplosh · 21/05/2011 21:24

I confess to a snort too Meglet - certainly strikes a chord with me, though they're both OK these days - for now at least.

Am feeling virtuous as we went to the garden centre today and bought strawberries, tomatoes, peppers for my growbags and some alpine plants as I hope they will love thin, barren, chalky soil. The dc found a giant puddle from some watering there and so were in heaven

Would love to come to a London meet up - 7th OK as it's an inset day, otherwise bit tricky from having to be back for school pick up

Becaroooo · 22/05/2011 10:10

Hi ladies...

Seems ages since I've posted (sure its not that long!)

ds1 had an AIT therapy appt yesterday which we start on friday and he has his appt with the comm paed team tomorrow so havent slept very well for a few nights!

Hopefully we are on the start of the road to a dx for ds1 but its been a stressful few weeks and we are SO busy til we go on hols next month...its pretty full on.

House also back on market and despite lowering the price by 15k still no offers Sad

Hope you are all ok x

Lollyheart · 22/05/2011 11:09

I'll try and change my appointment for another day because dh hasnt got a Tuesday off for a few months, I'll let you know asap if I can still do the 7th Smile but don't change it for me.

CappuccinoCarrie · 22/05/2011 17:26

Just a quick post as this fell off 'threads I'm on' Shock
Went to a lovely wedding yesterday and my mum kindly had the children so we could stay in a hotel overnight which was bliss. SPD absolutely killing me now, but DH is around this week and in charge of all lifting/bending/anything more than just colouring with the kids.
:( for the lack of house offers bec

Becaroooo · 22/05/2011 21:21

Sounds good carrie Smile
Yeah, its the pits Sad
Cant wait til my hols!!!!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 23/05/2011 15:50

Oh becs hope you get movement on the house. So frustrating.

So, come on ladies, what about a Northern meet?! I'm away in a few weeks but how about a mid-july (or does that clash with hols?) I'd even be up for a meet once the baby's here - not till Nov though!

Am on a high today. Had fab mw appt. My blood pressure is normal (unlike pg No1) so no tablets and so far, they are supporting my homebirth wishes!!
Makes such a change from last time when I was on the medical route from day 1 it seemed. I don't need another hospital appt till Sept and even then it's just a growth scan.

Becaroooo · 23/05/2011 17:29

mrsa thats lovely news! Smile Long may it continue...

Am a bit down about the house tbh...we cant lower the price anymore (well, we could but dh will only go so low and I can see his point)

Ds1 had his comm paed appt today and he is being assessed for dyspexia, dyspraxia and APD. Sad Maybe he will get more help at school now.....

We are away on hols mid June and mid July......

Becaroooo · 23/05/2011 17:29

....in fact will be ooop north in mid July!!! Grin

eandz · 23/05/2011 21:38

np lolly

so We had N diagnosed the other day. It looks like our little boy too is on the Autistic Spectrum. He was dxed with ASD. It's okay though, at least now we can try better approaches towards him.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 23/05/2011 22:19

eandz that must have been a shock (or a relief to get a diagnosis?) I hope you are getting the support and help you and N need.

eandz · 23/05/2011 23:16

thanks MrsAR

I hope we do get the right support for N. Thank goodness for Stars help and the ladies on the MNSN section. It's a little bit of a tough time because I live in a place where everyone pretends to be perfect. MN really helps me, I appreciate it. The good thing is that he responds well to SALT. Even if he didn't , N just like all our little Sept 08 babies is magical and I am one very lucky girl.

I was really looking forward to being a parent who just helped my child along and not being too pushy. It looks like N only responds to pushy (so far).

Becaroooo · 24/05/2011 08:39

eandz Sending lots of love and hugs to you and N...now you can all move forward together and get him the help he needs...ds1 had his assessment yesterday and now we are on the road to dx too...

eandz · 24/05/2011 10:57

:) we had as good as an experience as we could getting to the dx. I hope yours is as easyish.

Becaroooo · 24/05/2011 12:07

Thats so good to hear eandz I am so relieved for you...I know you have been worried about N for a long time...

Wrt ds1...he is going to be assessed at school by the EP, OT and SALT so it's going to be a while......
