Debs75 · 11/05/2011 15:28

Just looked Farnborough up on the map and I'm afraid thats me out as it is way too far.
Can anyone do a Yorkshire area meet-up? I can't host as house is way too tidgy (and in severe need of decorating)

eandz · 11/05/2011 15:32

wheres yorkshire? i plan on seeing england this year. i'll be here five years come august, and I've only been to: Cambridge, Oxford, Alton Towers and Thorpe Park.

Lollyheart · 11/05/2011 15:59

eandz I'll come to london for the day and meet you Smile
and Yorkshire is about an 4 hour train journey from reading.

eandz · 11/05/2011 16:05

yay Lollyheart! when is good for you?

Lollyheart · 11/05/2011 16:12

A tues is best for me as I don't work on that day, and a day that my dh is off work so he can have the older ones, I would only want to take one child on a train lol.

eandz · 11/05/2011 16:24

sounds good to me! how's the 31st or the 7th? (I'm free all Tuesdays except the 24th of this month).

Lollyheart · 11/05/2011 16:50

I can do the 7th, dh said he would come to london with me and take ds1 off to some museums, he wants to go to the war museum.

I have a mobile number of yours from when we met up before, not sure if it's the same one, but pm me so we can arrange a time and place Smile

ninja · 11/05/2011 19:21

OK - we have to organise a northern one too.

If my parents are away I could volunteer their house in Harrogate (big house, big garden, nice place to visit ....)

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 11/05/2011 20:15

Yeah - London a no go for me too -have you costed the train fare recently?!!!

Carrie I was in Bridlington yesterday but sadly it was a flying visit and I was home by 4.30!

I have Blush a fairly big house and large garden with plenty of toys, including a 10ft trampoline at the bottom.
However, you'd all need to come to Chester area!

Coyuld we not find a nice park/cafe mid-way between Manchester and Leeds?

ninja · 11/05/2011 22:30

The yorkshire sculpture park is lovely, but may be too far away.

You could all come to mine, I have a trampoline too and a play house - I'm between Manchester and Leeds, go on - you know that you want to Grin

Chester sounds appealing though ....and I want to see MrsA's big house

Debs75 · 12/05/2011 08:57

Ninja Your house sounds do-able for us

EandzSad you don't know where Yorkshire is. It's above Leicester but below Newcastle and very niceSmile

Robyn woke up again last night and had me up for 2 hours, it was 4am before we got back to sleep. She is full of it now and raring to go to nursery but I think an early night is needed by all

eandz · 12/05/2011 11:19

Debs75
don't take it personally! I only just recently got a car and realized there are places outside of the city. I've been in denial about living in the UK. Forgive me! I'll totally come to your meet up, there is no better way to learn. I'm done with being a hermit.

Becaroooo · 12/05/2011 12:44

I could do manchester/leeds of chester, no problem.

ooohhh, how exciting!.....

eandz yorkshire is lovely! Smile

pacita · 12/05/2011 15:05

I am up for any gathering north of south. I would love to meet all of you in person though, so maybe we could do a day out somewhere really central? Or do a local meet up and a central one for the more adventurous (or idle, such as myself) amongst us?

Ladies, I have just started what is possibly the most unglamorous thread in the history of mumsnet here . I am a bit concerned about Ines's wind issues which keep me up all night, and the accompanying positively vile poos that she manages to produce despite being EBF.

Your thoughts, experiences and even bumping, would be much appreciated!

Kagey · 12/05/2011 16:03

Sorry Pacita I am no help whatsoever :( you will get lots of sound advice soon.

DD2 is now 6 weeks old is getting more settled at night. However she refuses to be put down during the day and could quite happily spend all day being cuddled. A sling has not worked but I am perservering :)

DH is out with work so I am home alone with the girls for the first time . DD1 loves DH taking her to bed so it will not be easy if DD2 decides she wants a milk-frenzy.

A London meet-up? Not sure it's fair to unleash feral Beryl DD1 on you all. I might be able to make this as I missed the antenatal one.

eandz · 12/05/2011 17:15

kagey come! we're still working out the details. we'll probably be going to London Zoo.

I went to the Zoo today actually, I was trying to see if I still knew how to ride a bike so I took out one of those boris bikes and lo and behold, I rode a bike! I got soo excited I didn't know where I was going and ended up at the zoo. Luckily for me it was just about time for an ice cream. (N is at nursery) so I just walked in and got ice cream. Talked to a very handsome young man about jobs.

I kept thinking that maybe my N will grow up and have a funky summer job too one day. Although, I hope N washes his hair more and if he does indulge in tattoos, that they be slightly more tasteful than random tribal tattoos that seem to be very contradictory and obviously irrelevant to each other. For the love of themed body art!

pacita · 12/05/2011 18:19

London Zoo meet up sounds very nice. There is also Battersea park zoo, which is one of londons's best kept secrets!

eandz · 12/05/2011 19:20

oooh, let me check out battersea park!

eandz · 12/05/2011 19:26

I'm game for either zoo! This battersea park zoo looks excellent.

Lollyheart · 12/05/2011 19:43

I'm happy with battersea zoo Smile
