Yeah i found a vest top under a jumper or bigger t shirt is good too. Vest top down, upper top up. Flab covered and the top top can be pulled down a bit to cover exposed boob

OkieCokie · 26/02/2011 21:08

yes, I have largish boobage therefore shirts ared crap. Thick jumpers are do-able but not as ok as t-shirts as really they are just too bulky.

Cosmosis · 26/02/2011 21:08

Or a few friends use those belly band things to hide tummys.

Now the word cafe sounds odd as I have written it too much.

OkieCokie · 26/02/2011 21:13

Caff, caf, cafe? yes, v odd.

I also check out places thinking would it be ok to feed? Is there a corner I can nestle in.

Cosmosis · 26/02/2011 21:15

I fed sitting on a wall outside someones house once. She came out to post a letter and grinned at me and said "needs must" Grin

Muser · 26/02/2011 21:16

We do have little independent cafes, I shall have to investigate them. The ones I can think of lean more towards the workmen then breastfeeding mums.

Cosmosis · 26/02/2011 21:20

you might make the workmens' day! Wink

CUNextTuesday · 26/02/2011 21:24

Or teach them that tits are not just about page 3

Cosmosis · 26/02/2011 21:25

that reminds me of the thread on the feeding section about the teenage lads in starbucks, did you see it? was a while ago, one was staring at someone and the other said, don't stare, those are feeding tits not wanking tits Grin

CUNextTuesday · 26/02/2011 21:34

Yeah i committed that to memory Grin Lads are funny creatures!

Bf in front of NCT mates was a good stepping stone for me in early days. I liked the Boob tops too - have two that have been my uniform until fairly recently when I have branched out and become more creative.

I have one huge boob that Clint feeds happily from, and one small one that he stays on for a minute or so (except for the first morning feed). Therefore Clint has both at each feed - always starting with Small Boob. When I pump I get roughly the same from both sides. Boobs are strange. I worried about this for a while but it seems to work for us.

OkieCokie · 26/02/2011 22:34

I alternate each feed. I wear a ring which I switch over hands according to which boob I need to feed from next as it is the only way I can remember.

CUNextTuesday · 26/02/2011 23:36

Goodness. I haven't had this much wine since last night

VAG I am Hmm about Clint's poo timing - Bear frequently does something similar. You know, I'll be on duty until 9am - giant stinking shite at 8:58. On duty again at 4pm, giant stinking shite at 4:01. I plead and plead "please one for your daddy" and nada. :( Still... at least he's big enough to kick daddy in the nuts now which he's been doing as they're both still upstairs in bed.

I gave up on the pram and travel-system yonks ago and now have a lightweight buggy which can be folded and carried with one hand! Shock A bit unsure what to do with the big travel-system, it's no good for 2 kids, Bear will not use it again. However, if it takes me a billion years to get diffed again it's useful for the one kid. I think prams are lovely, but they last such a short space of time and are hideously expensive. Our ridiculously cheap (100 euro) buggy actually does from birth as it has a lie flat and for heavy-duty dog walking we've always found the sling easier. Bah. JB moaned like a bastard when he put it away in the loft last weekend due to the weight of the thing - I told him if he left it out I'd bung it on't web. Now I will forget about it until I'm 2 days post-partum tired and emotional.

Hmm at Cossie with her discretely opening 1 or 2 buttons on her shirt. Have you seen my boobies lady? I'd have to open about 6! Grin

Glad you're having a good night cunty. Despite my drunken exploits on Friday night I had one small margarita at home, 3 or 4 (can't remember) at the restaurant and 1 G&T in a bar and I was hammered. Isn't that pathetic? Shock Cheap night though. Dinner & drinks came to less than 35 euros! Grin

By the end of March, Bear will have been to 8 countries in his 8 months - not bad eh!?

AlpinePony · 27/02/2011 08:45

Cossie Yes, I did used to get very panicky when out with the baby and too many people around - these days I get more sweary. Which probably explains why Bear's first word was "Fuck". :(

muser It's perfectly OK to say No to all visitors unless they are of the toilet-cleaning, fridge-filling, washing-machine-unloading variety! People who just want to coo and do small-talk can fuck off and come back in a month. Only you, Bob and your husband matter right now.

AlpinePony · 27/02/2011 08:47

Apols for the cluster-posting this morning. Am being an eejit. Am just looking at curly's holiday pics and wondering about the bath. Are any of you summer people still using a baby bath or am I the only one? Quite frankly it's getting on my tits now hanging around the bathroom getting under my feet.

Cosmosis · 27/02/2011 08:56

We never used a baby bath.

CUNextTuesday · 27/02/2011 10:22

We've been in the big bath for a couple of months now. More fun with splashtime and toys and shiz

Will remember that quote about feeding tits and not wanking tits fo' sho'.

Let down on smaller left boob has super fast let down in the morning. MB nearly always gags and chokes coughs. I use jairbamd on my wrist for remembering which boob as I do one boob feeding only too.

muse NCT good for practice and working on reducing the flashing. Then I think you get to the point where you don't care. It's harder to be discreet than wap it out. Grin. I have a MamaScarf that I've never used if you want to borrow. See their website for instructions. Or a tip I learnt was to tie muslin to your bra strap. Works a treat. What about M&S, Morhercare, Boots for feeding rooms? Honestly it's all down to practice and in the next few weeks you'll get plenty!!!

Have had lovely ride in the sun this morning and hoss behaved and actually worked v nicely. I don't believe hoss is getting "past it".

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 27/02/2011 11:12

Still using baby bath - prob got about a month left before uncomfortably small. Clint has his own bathroom as we use the en suite.

SilverSky · 27/02/2011 11:30

alps we are still squashing MB in his baby bath. Won't be much longer til he's too big. Then what do I do? Not sure I can manage him in the big bath as he can't sit up and it will paralyse kill my back supporting him and leaning over the bath!

FannyPriceless · 27/02/2011 12:14

silv You need a bath seat. Is ace. Though we did have a short period when I had to hold Clyde in the bath before he could sit in the seat. Yes it killed my back. He had very short baths.

pillypoo I am so SmileSmile to hear that the pills are working! I was getting worried that they weren't going to kick in. I'm a week or more behind you (up to day 5 now) so I hope you don't mind if I'm using you as a benchmark. So far I have had headaches and dizzy hot flushes.

Muser · 27/02/2011 12:43

I had a little practice today feeding at home with visitors. It worked. Hooray for drapey jersey cardigans.

Thanks for the Mamascarf offer, but I think I'd rather stick with a cardi. I always think those scarves are more attention grabbing.

AlpinePony · 27/02/2011 13:43

Are bumbos waterproof?

CurlyCasper · 27/02/2011 14:14

yes, in terms of cleaning but box says not to sub, erge. Think it can damage rubber.

We just lie/sit her in bath, always observing. She has face planted twice, but was quickly retrieved and not too traumatised.

Just about to battle lurgy with fresh air activity - see FB status!
