FannyPriceless · 25/02/2011 11:31

Don't worry cunty. Clyde is always getting his leg jammed at a weird angle under his highchair. Now that it's happened about ten times he hardly even cries about it anymore - he just lies there, stuck and twisted until I notice him. Good lad.

SilverSky · 25/02/2011 11:46

MB is laying under his baby gym watching Celebrity Juice whilst I pump my boobs dry ready for my night out. Tbh it's all such a fucking hassle. Why is it pumping leaves you with nips the size of door knobs?

SilverSky · 25/02/2011 13:39

box are you doing that ride??

Cosmosis · 25/02/2011 15:48

my new (to me) double pump arrived in the post yesterday and TGO is making dairy references a lot Wink

CUNextTuesday · 25/02/2011 16:11

stick it on him I dares ya!

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 25/02/2011 17:25

I may do that!

AlpinePony · 25/02/2011 17:27

cunty it's a double _ what would she do with the second?

Am currently wearing enough make-up to sink a ship so almost good to go.

CUNextTuesday · 25/02/2011 18:24

I'm dressed up to the eights waiting to meet up with my girls, and Stuart is stuck in unmoving traffic in hammersmith so it looks like I'm going fucking nowhere. I go out precisely NEVER and this is what happens when i do Angry

PollyPoo · 25/02/2011 18:26

Have a great night Alps - have one for me, seeing as the happy pills don't mix with booze.

Cunty I hope Hom gets home soon and you get to let your hair down, you bloody deserve it. Are you sure he is not just faking the traffic so you'll stay home and cook his dinner? Hmm

CUNextTuesday · 25/02/2011 18:39

I'm fairly sure...

Backinthebox · 25/02/2011 19:14

Bummer, Cunty. I am having my traditional Friday night for the last 3 springs - OH goes to cricket nets while I slump on the sofa with wine and chocolate.

Silver yes, I am doing that ride. Wanna come? Racehorse will be coming too. Will not be going fast as baby horse will slump with exhaustion about 5 minutes in.

Am thinking about weaning - LG is pooing pure paper atm, on account of somehow finding bits of paper everywhere and ramming them in his mouth with superfast speed. I think he needs more nourishment than just paper. Although tbh I reckon paper and ricecakes probably taste quite similar!

Backinthebox · 25/02/2011 19:16

FP I would not so much be worrying about my parenting skills, I'd be more mourning the loss of my Mars bar!

PollyPoo · 26/02/2011 07:39

How are the hangovers this morning Alps and Cunty? Smile I hope your menfolk are taking care of the boys and you are getting a lie-in.

I've been up for an hour and just realised that I don't have the anxious knot in my stomach any more. And when I woke up my first thought wasn't about how shit I feel. Yay for the happy pills. Grin

AlpinePony · 26/02/2011 07:51

I am loving the tales of slovenly parenting!

Alas happypol jb started work at 5, so er, scooped me off the sofa at half four. Ahem. Bear slept until 8 but has been a greetasaurus since. Ugh. Head ok, feet blistered and bloody so a good result. Oh also my phone was sim-locked, past experience would indicate that particular element could go either way. Also am still wearing make-up and bird's nest backcombed hair!

What's everyone got planned for this weekend? Moi, glamour. Cleaning old flat, buying deodorant and coffee pads, visiting hoss.

PollyPoo · 26/02/2011 07:58

Sounds like a good night Alps, I am most Envy. Smile

BB is asleep again after polishing off breakfast in record time, so I'm going to curl up on the sofa and snooze some more I reckon. Boo will watch cbeebies play happily by herself and leave me to it. Today I will be mostly watching rugby and reading in the bath - TG was out last night so he can look after the kids. And he has to bath the dog later - see photos on t'other place. Bad dog! Tomorrow we are off to the MILs for a roast. Exciting times eh? I am just grateful that I've stopped wanting to leave BB in a shop/outside a hospital/on a bus. Grin

CurlyCasper · 26/02/2011 09:44

Just checking in briefly. Got kicked off internet after uploading some pics last night. Lurgy getting worse and I have a chest full of grot and a fabulous cough and croak to match. Lovely.

pols - great pics! That's just the sort of thing ours would do.

Hurray for nights out. Envy

Cosmosis · 26/02/2011 11:44

ah pols great to hear you are feeling a bit better :)

well night 1 of home alone weekend went ok. We are currently vegging in babygro (him) and trakkie bottoms (me) and watching shite sat am tv, before heading to the park this afternoon to meet friend for a walk.

TGO not responding to texts, I am being charitable and assuming it's lack of signal (they are in a bunk house in the arse end of nowhere) rather than ignoring me.

curls sorry for lurgy :(

Muser · 26/02/2011 12:06

Hello. Polls it's lovely hearing you sound so well. Magic pills rock.

Today we are introducing Bob to my brother, SIL and her 2 older cousins (5&3). Bob helpfully slept for just 3 hours last night to ensure I was in best condition for visitors. Tomorrow is clinic day.

OkieCokie · 26/02/2011 14:27

Cos I also have just got a new (to me) pump which I will test out tonight. Mr C thinks it is quite vile that I wold buy a pump off that ebay place but I said did he think that the hospitals provide brand spanking new ones to each patient? Went to hospital this week and for medical research purposes I have made a commitment to exlcusive BF for 6 months with no early weaning so figured I should buy a decent pump to assist. I now have the dogs of all pumps which cost me a fraction of the price and it is in excellent nick.

Tonight I am trying out a new recipe so off to shops to buy ingredients this afternoon.

Pols those drucks sound ace and I am pleased you are feeling more upbeat.

Alps jelous of your night on the lash but I see you are visiting these shores soon for a repeat performance?

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 26/02/2011 17:20

Blimmin keep losing posts grrr

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 26/02/2011 17:24

Oh wise ones, how will I know Clint is ready to wean? He's always liked watching us eat, and is sleeping a bit worse than usual but I think it's teeth (buckets of drool). Bf is so convenient, but don't want to stunt the poor boy (5 months next week! Argh!)

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 26/02/2011 17:28

Sorry, Clint posted before I'd finished. Silv, weaning scares me too Grown up poo! Bananas! Food splattered around cream living room! Eating less cake!

Cosmosis · 26/02/2011 17:38

VAG, official guidelines are, sitting up on own, able to get food into mouth on their own, and loss of tongue thrust reflex, ie doesn't push food back out with tongue when you put food in their mouth.

With Artie, he'd never been bothered about watching us eat, then suddenly started being v interested, then one day sitting on my lap he shoved his hand into my bowl of pasta Grin but that was the weekend of the D&V so we left it another week before offering him any. He was 5.5 months.

As for the eating less cake, don't worry, milk should be main source of nutrient for 1st year, so he'll probably not drop any feeds for ages and ages, so carry on cakeing.

SilverSky · 26/02/2011 18:03

Yo FESHs!

Night out has revived me and I wanna do it again !

In other news sharer wants to come back now she is well. Meeting for coffee and catch up incl gentle word about the new bad habit nag has developed since being shared.

box would love to do ride but no wheels and too far to hack to!

pols yay for pills!

alps yay for night on the lash! Will also contact TheRegMiester.

tues did you survive yours?

vag MB showing no interest in our food and is sleeping well (not during day tho). So guess it's too early. We are also awaiting super poo as he's not poo'd since yday!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 26/02/2011 18:17

Fanks Cosmic. He is sitting unaided for about 20 secs at a time then flinging rather than toppling. We have just switched the pram to a buggy today to see how he gets on, as the carrycot is a bit of a squeeze. And the rest of my NCT group are well into weaning. I don't think he is quite ready but I'm aware of my preferences against. Suspect it won't be far off, I will leave it a couple of weeks and reassess.

Dirty Stop-Outs - glad you all had good nights!

Pol glad you are feeling human-er.

Muse pls to take things v easy and not underestimate how physically & mentally exhausted you are, even if you feel fine right now - in the early weeks you can be crushed and overwhelmed by exhaustion without warning and more than once. Hope you have a lovely day though! Bob is gorgeous.

Ref pumping - I always feel a bit depressed when I pump, but rarely when I feed. Does my body know it isn't a baybee? Peculiar.
