Oh and I really think frigg has under-played how much Arlo can move. He is most definitely crawling and looks like he'll be the first to walk (in a few weeks maybe!) Grin

lumpybananapuree · 25/02/2011 11:24

Hi all! Just to confirm Beady & Chelle didn't do away with me! I am still around but after finally getting home from 4 days away, my bloody internet is down. I'm having serious mn & fb withdrawal!!

Just using a friend computer. will hopefully be back properly soon!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/02/2011 13:31

Long story but basically our next door but one neighbours have been a total pita but have been very quiet since police got involved and their kids moved out. Got home last night to find the daughter has moved back in with her oh and child and we've had a mains water leak which luckily only cost £75 but both left me with a very stressed dh! Fingers crossed they won't be back to their old ways and that he learns to not let them get to him Hmm

Luke was up at 4.30 today saoirse86 but didn't have a feed at 10.30-11.30 as usual so I guess that's understandable, hoping the muslin is doing it's magic for you too! And LOL at your cold and dangly boobies Grin

Loved your nursing necklace friggFRIGG, did you get it from the same site that you posted the link to for the wooden one?

cinnamongreyhound · 25/02/2011 18:14

Just found a second tooth in Luke's mouth!

mapletrees · 25/02/2011 18:26

Louis had a better night too saoirse. He only fed at 11, 3.30 and 7 (woke a couple of times in between and did a giant shit at 3.30 Grin, but resettled quickly). I think all the flirting tired him out Wink.

I once answered the door to the curry delivery man in my dressing gown when he came earlier than I was expecting. Next time we had a delivery, two of them came, and DP said they looked very disapointed when he answered the door Blush Grin

Hope you internet's back up soon banana. It drives me nuts when ours is down Angry

cinnamon glad the leak's sorted out, hope your old-new neighbours have turned over a new leaf..

mapletrees · 25/02/2011 18:31

Ooo, another tooth, go Luke. Louis still hasn't got any, suppose I should be grateful as he can't bite me, but actually I'm a bit Envy

comixminx · 25/02/2011 21:04

Me too, maple - am also Envy that Aphra hasn't got teeth yet. Never mind, it'll come...

FriggFRIGG · 25/02/2011 22:16

you dont want them to have teeth...when they have teeth they can bite ...

cinnamon i actually bought this necklace from an MNer...v.cheap Grin,as the ones ive had made are coming from the US and wont arrive for another 2 weeks Sad

im sooo excited about the ergo ? Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 26/02/2011 07:15

Ds1 bit me once I shouted and put him down and he never did it again. Luke does tend to have a chew if he's finishing and I'm not paying attention so might not be so lucky this time!

Luke just slept for 12 hours! I was awake, laying in a wet patch waiting for him to wake up Blush

mapletrees · 26/02/2011 08:59

12 hours!!! Envy

Debs75 · 26/02/2011 09:13

Still no teeth here. Thank god
Not much movement either, although she did try and roll over in the bath, not a very sensible idea.

She likes to sleep in her pram with her coat against her face so I will try the muslin in bed with her to see if we can improve on the 1 wake up a night.

On the downside I think I have conjunctivitus and may have passed it on to her. I hope the chemists cover it on the minor ailments scheme or it will be Monday before i can get to Dr's.

beaditAli · 26/02/2011 09:44

cinnamon not that it's a competition or anything Wink Wink...... Jack did 12 hours 20 mins!! Awake for an hour and a half and he's back in his cot again Shock

Yeay for our clever lil boys!!

He has really cut out his milk now Confused..... only had 6 oz yesterday but is now on three meals a day so I guess he's getting all he needs.

Happy weekend everyone! Grin

lumpybananapuree · 26/02/2011 10:42

Morning all! I'm baaaaack! Can't possible comment on the whole of the last week but can't ignore Sassy OMG you crazy crazy crazy brave lady!!!!! How exciting. I was only thinking last weekend who'd be the 1st to announce the next one (or two!)

Debs are you still bf?? If so put a little milk in her eye. Worked for my friend!

What a lovely but busy week I've had! I went to see a uni friend on Mon. I heven't seen her for 2 years so it was really lovely to catch up. She only lives 20mins away from Beady so I took the chance to meet her, Chelle & Beer lovely day. Very nice, normal people & extremely well behaved babies. Then on from there to my Parents to see my db, sil & dn. Stayed there till late thurs. I was absolutely exhausted when I got home!

I hope you all had a good meet up on Thurs. Who actually went. No crazy people Frigg?? Have you managed to ditch your "friend"?!

Beady Olly only had 6oz on thurs. He'd gradually been cutting down all week from 24oz on sun. He's back on it again now! It might just be a phase!!!

Olly 6 months on Tues Shock

saoirse86 · 26/02/2011 10:59

cinnamon and beadit no fair!!! Orlaith's now done 2 nights of only waking twice and I've been happy about that. Now you two come along with your sleepy babies and rain all over my parade! Grin

cinnamon can you confirm, did you wet yourself and that's why you were lying in a wet patch? Wink

I'm a bit confused about her sleeping, now she wakes up properly 8.5-9 hours after first going to sleep. But she's still only having her usual 3-4 naps in the day for a total of about 3.5 hours. Is that a lot less than other babies? Does she not realise that I'm lazy one of those people who has to have a lot of sleep at night?! Honestly! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 26/02/2011 11:41

Luke did the same beaditAli, awake for just over an hour another feed and back to sleep for an hour! Although milk is supposed to be the main source of nutrition at 6 months you can't force it in so I wouldn't worry too much. Luke is still a milky baby but he is enjoying his solids, only having 2 lots a day at the moment. This does mean he's pooing every day now :(

Sorry to rain on your parade saoirse86! I am pleased tosay since childhood I am yet to get to the stage of wetting the bed and it was a wet patch of milk Grin. I hate wearing a bra in bed so I used to sleep on a folded towel but haven't for sometime so now have some more washing to do :(

I can second the bm in the eye Debs75, although it didn't get rid of Luke's conjunctivitis it did help him. I had to go to dr as chemist wouldn't sell me drops for him but they were the same I have had for dh and ds1 when they got it together in the past so in the future I will just say they're for dh and use them on Luke if he needs it.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/02/2011 17:12

It's sooooo cold! I'm sitting on the beach at Yarmouth with Luke on my lap under a blanket, boys digging in the sand and dh fishing. We saw a seal, amazing!!! Had some lovely doughnuts too Grin

Dixiebell · 26/02/2011 18:04

Ah, many a time I have woken up in a wet patch. A mixture of joy at obviously having had a good night's sleep and irritation at lying in the wet patch! Not recently though - Arlo has definitely reverted back to a pattern of waking in night fir a feed. Still no luck on getting him to take a bottle either. It pains me when we have to give up and tip my precious breastmilk away. And my sister's hen do in 2 weeks' time is looking unlikely :(

FriggFRIGG · 26/02/2011 19:33

ahhh, yes the wet patch...i know it well

cinnamongreyhound · 26/02/2011 19:45

Was wondering how you were getting on Dixiebell, keeping fingers crossed something changes in the next 2 weeks for you. What is the hen do, something you can pop off to feed Arlo if he were nearby with your oh?

Also, if you're lurking but not posting how's settling into the house going Bellabelly?

watersprite · 26/02/2011 23:35

Hi ladies : ) not really posted for a while as I've been quite down, I've been so tired and really struggling with Maria-Ann. For about 3 weeks now her sleep pattern has been all over and I've hardly had any sleep. Plus my dd1 had the swine flu vac and was really poorly with it, then my O/H came down with flu and to top it all off my dd1 has just got over the vomitting bug. Thur night she started vomitting from 12am till 6am and by then with the lack of sleep anyway I'd officially became a walking zombie.

Today has been quite pleasant, i'm really hopeing Maria-Ann is sort of getting into a routine, Last night she only woke 4 times instead of every half hr through out the night. The days were becomeing as worse as the nights with her being really crabby and I dont blame her as she was hardly getting much sleep at night. Every half hour she would spit her dummy out and I would put it back in. I tried the cc but just couldn't go with it. I even tried not putting the dummy back in but she would really kicked off and when your so tired you will do anything for the sake of some piece and quite. I've contacted my health visitor to see if there is anything I could be doing, wont hear from her till she back in the office next week, I did speak to another H/V and she told me she maybe not getting enough formula. What do you do though when she wont take it? I mean she eats 4 times a day so dont know what else to do really. I give her formula every 4 hrs but she may take an ounce or two and sometime wont even take it. She still has two seven ounce bottles at night one around 3 and 7-8 she then has breakfast at 9am, dinner at 1 tea at 5 and porriage at 9. I'm really trying my best and she is putting on weight steadly so dont know what else I'm suppose to do?

Will try and catch up with the thread soon : )

JessemyParkson · 27/02/2011 01:04

Hi sprite I'm sorry to hear you've not had a good few weeks x You really have been through the wars

I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions except to pick a strategy and stick with it. I've tried to be quite firm with Mary, as far as sleeping is concerned, and on the whole she now settles herself within a few minutes. It almost sounds like her feed and sleep times are a bit back to front??

How easily does she sleep in the day? X

Dixiebell · 27/02/2011 01:39

watersprite, what a nightmare. No tips I'm afraid, but hoping it gets better for you.

cinnamon, the hen do is supposed to be a weekend away in a cottage, with an assault course and dry-slope skiing!!! DH could come and lurk during daytime I suppose, but it wouldn't be fair to leave him overnight as Arlo is still waking once in the night, and he is always desperate for the boob immediately before he goes to bed, even if he's had a recent feed. I'd hoped we could replace that with bottle, but prob not in time, the rate we're going!

cinnamongreyhound · 27/02/2011 02:34

So horrible for you watersprite! Had seen your posts on fb and really felt for you but assumed you were fed up of us Blush. I'm really rubbish with sleep suggestions as both mine have been so good at night. Having a muslin next to his face has really helped Luke settle at night. Is she good during the day with sleep, I really believe ithelps with night time sleeping to have had decent naps in the day, some people do try to cut them down if their baby doesn't sleep well at night. Also, just wondering whyyou give her porridge at 9, any chance she's finding it hard to digest? It seems pretty late in the day for a baby to be eating? Other than that no suggestions I'm afraid :(

Would be so sad if you couldn't go Dixiebell!!

Well after 4 days of sleeping through from at least 11.30-7, Luke is up now! Guess I should be grateful for the 4 days, but hoping it was more permanent :( :( :(

lumpybananapuree · 27/02/2011 07:15

Watersprite sounds awful, I hope it gets better for you soon. I was wondering about the porridge at 9 too. Could that not be replaced with milk? It sounds like she's filling up on solids so not hungry for her milk in the day. How old is she?

Well, we still have no rolling here but definate independent sitting Like this

Chelle??? Where are you? everything ok?
