oooya! how horrible Ali!! So glad it's better now.

newmum001 · 03/04/2011 21:38

i didn't think about it either dixie then as soon as i realised i was so upset! Regarding Louis not eating at the wedding i suspect it might have been the change in environment as grace refuses to have a bottle or food if there is anything slightly interesting going on around her! I bet if you try him on the same tomorrow he will eat it!

Beadit, just seen the pic i bet you were so scared. Glad he's better now!!

Bit of news - Grace has now got FIVE teeth!!! They are all on the top, the front one on the right and the two on either side of the front ones. She's going to look a bit strange if the left front one doesn't show up soon.

JodeyBogeyPicker · 03/04/2011 22:17

5 teeth! Wow! Harlyn has 3 but the 4th looks like it's gona be following very soon. He's stil being very clingy and irritable, poor thing. I've had to rock him to sleep every night this week which really isn't like him.

beadit poor Jack, those pics look awful! You must have been scared to say the least. Hope he's better now and that his test don't show too many more allergies.

I've gad a lovely mothers day with lots of chocs and two new books. One was the one I mentioned called Raising Boys. cinnamon I know u said it was good so looking forward to reading that and the other is about 21st century boys which looks at the influence of technology, ADHD and other common problems that seem to affect the modern boy. I'll let u know if it has any useful info. Might be a good resource for my teaching.

Hope everyone else had a lovely day too x x

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2011 08:22

Really good JodeyBogeyPicker, might actually buy as when I read it I got it from the library nice to have it to refer to.

I took a job as a census collector which starts Wednesday, apart from the classroom training and online application I haven't heard anything from them. I got an email from them at 6.30 this morning saying there is a meeting at 11am Wednesday! Great nice to give people plenty of notice! It is 20 mins drive away and not in my collection area plus it's far too short notice for me to take time off or get dh to have time off to have my two so I've emailled back saying I will attend but only if I can bring 4 children with me and that it's over by 12 as I have to get ds1 to school for 12.20. What an annoying start Angry

lumpybananapuree · 04/04/2011 09:51

Well, the nappies are off and so far we've had 1 wee in the potty, 2 wees in the pants and 1 poo! not a good start! I know it won't happen straight away but I just want to put the nappy back on! I hate things like this! I'm giving it 3 days. 3 loooong days! where's that Wine

saoirse86 · 04/04/2011 10:56

How scary beady but I'm glad he's better now. Smile

I didn't get a present because my birthday pressie was supposed to be for both. It was a beauuuutiful Art Deco ceylon sapphire and diamond ring that he had in his shop for £2000!!! Shock Grin
I also didn't get a mummy/daughter photo Sad even though I took loads of other people. That's the problem with taking the photos that you get none of yourself! Oh well.

My sister and I went to the Jaeger outlet shop in town to buy a bag for our mum that she's had her eye on. It was supposed to be £120 (reduced from £300) but it came up as £40 so we ended up buying one for each of us and my SIL bought one too all in different colours. Whoops! I feel like going back and getting another one in a different colour for myself. Blush

Debs75 · 04/04/2011 11:57

I had a nice mums day as well. The kids got me loads of chocs and DS made me some flowers and a card at school. For tea we all went to my mums with my sis and we took tea for her so she didn't have to cook. All the kids behaved and Lucy showed off her rolling skills.

Beady hope he gets better soon and it turns out just to be egg he is allergic to.

lumpybananapuree · 04/04/2011 19:24

I know this is a thread for our september babies but Ds1 has been a star today! Nappy off at 7am 5 accidents and 16 wees in the potty! Nappy back on at 7pm. Its a lot of wees so we need to work on bladder capacity but I'm so proud of him (and me for keeping calm). Nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be!!!

Beady how did you get on today?????

beaditAli · 04/04/2011 19:45

Go tobylerone Grin

Had the free private consultation Lucy and we've decided to go ahead with treatment as he was diagnosed as severe according to mm differences. Anything over 12mm is severe and Jack is 18.6mm out on the right side at the back. Also, his ears and cheek bones are mis-alined tho not to an average eye.
There was no pressure from the clinician at all! He was very reassuring and seems to think with the helmet Jack will be 85% better.
So relieved we went and chatted to a couple in the waiting area with their 14 month old who said they never looked back. The flatness at the back has caused the misalignment with the facial features but this all sounds a bit drastic doesn't it! From the front he looks totally normal! Grin
The camera took a million scans of his head and maps his whole head on a graph so we could see for certain the differences.
Crash helmet is fitted 2 weeks today! Confused

cinnamon what is your lentil recipe that's been a hit for Luke??

Rash is totally fine now but think the piriton is zonking him out a bit! Slept 7pm to 7am again last night! Grin

OP posts:
newmum001 · 04/04/2011 19:57

Ooooh might get some Piriton for grace (only kidding) Grin she didn't go to sleep till 9pm last night! Glad everything is ok with Jacks rash now and i bet he's going to look so cute in his little helmet!

We've just spent the last TWO hours trying to put Grace's blackout blind up while she whinged in the background the whole time. I was soooo stressed! There was mucho swearing!! I'm gonna have a root round and see if i can find some wine when she's gone to bed i seriously need a drink!!!

Glad potty training is going well lumpy!!!

MammyG · 04/04/2011 20:01

beadit Holy crap Mrs! Would have frightened the life out of me!

Glad to hear of all the nice mothers day stories. Mine was a non event of sorts. SIL had her daughters christening yesterday - all DH family were at it. 30 adults in total I think. They have been living in Dubai for a year but have their own house two hours away from us. It was an early start and a loooong day! It was nice to see everyone and all but I was either helping or minding for the day. Got a lovely card from the boys but that was pretty much it! Think Im owed one!! Was so proud of my brood yesteday tho. Poor DS2 is battling a cold and he was still so well behaved as was DS1. But Phoebe stole the show! She was all smiles and gurgles for everyone. Also her cousin Caoimhe is one week younger than her and it is uncanny how alike they look - like sisters! They even cry the same! It was so cute to see them together as they havent had any time together yet. SIL and her Dcs coming tomorrow for a couple of days - will be hectic but nice! There really is no such thing as a quiet life is there?

mapletrees · 04/04/2011 20:54

Hope you don't mind me jumping in cinnamon, but I have the book here (just been making cod with sweet potato and orange from it - weird, but Louis loved it Hmm)

Annabel Karmel's Lovely Lentils

0.5 sm onion, chopped
100g carrot, chopped
15g celery, chopped
1 tbsp veg oil
50g split red lentils
200g sweet potato, peeled and chopped
400ml veg stock

Saute the onion, carrot and celery in the veg oil until softened. Add the lentils and sweet potato and pour over the stock. Bring to the boil then simmer, covered, for 20mins or until sweet potato and lentils are soft. Puree.

I added a clove of garlic with the onion as I'm addicted, and we watered some down and ate it as soup while Louis had his the first time. Just to warn you; make sure the lentils are well cooked as if they're underdone it'll make them farty. Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 04/04/2011 21:01

The one luke had last week was a tomato and red pepper Dahl from the sainburys little ones magazine will have to dig it out for you beaditAli. The one ds1 loved that mapletrees was talking about was lovely lentils from annabel karmel book- 50g onion, 100g carrots, 15g celery, 50g split red lentils, 250g sweet potato, 400ml stock/water. Sauté onion, carrots and celery for 5 mins, add lentils and sweet potato and pour over stock/water simmer covered for 20mins and purée. Makes 5 portions.

Wow that's a lot of wees lumpybananapuree, could just be the novelty too but he's doing well Grin

Lucky you saoirse86, probably helps you forget all those night feeds he's not doing Wink

Didn't get our blind in the end newmum001 dh didn't think we needed it we'll see if he thinks the same when it's light at 4am!!!

Hope you have a lovely time with sil MammyG

beaditAli · 04/04/2011 22:56

Hee heeee.... I love the way he looks in the freezer and says Mama! Grin

OP posts:
saoirse86 · 05/04/2011 12:12

I could only watch a bit of that (stupid internet connection) but what I saw was cute! Apparently my sister and I used to have babbly conversations and then do something naughty, like we'd just planned it knowing our parents couldn't understand! Grin I wonder if Jacob and Isobel are doing it yet.

Did sassy ever get back to you cinnamon ?

Should we send out a search party for vimto and skater too (or maybe just a PM) ?

I think I'm going to have to buy this annabel karmel book. Can you get special veg stock that has no salt for the lentil recipe?

beaditAli · 05/04/2011 12:27

saoirse I think organic veg stock is fine but haven't looked to check yet. Just whazzed up blueberry, sweet potato and apple and that was demolished! x
Just popped apples in microwave to stew for 5 mins then boiled the pots and de-stalked blueberries.... bung it all in and add water if the blueberries have made it a bit jellyish. Tis a sweet one tho. Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 05/04/2011 14:04

saoirse86 Heinz do a special baby one that Tesco have in the baby food section but I made my own, the Annabel Karmel book has a recipe in the back and it's really easy but you can use just water too. Organic Stock still has a lot of salt beaditAli just means it was made with organic veg afaik. Your mix does sound very sweet, Luke is really enjoying his stewed plums at the moment! I gave him a pitta with houmous for lunch to day, just broke off bite size pieces and he chomped his way through about 1/4 followed by plum. He's got such a snotty nose since yesterday poor little man :(

And no I didn't hear a thing :( have been checking the Oct 2011 thread in case she pops up thier too.

Been to a meeting at ds1's school as they are changing the intake so he will start in September, they are doing a slightly staggered start but hope they'll all be full time within 3 weeks. I am sooooooo not ready for this was nearly in tears at the meeting and now writing this. How can my baby be going to school in 6 months time?

beaditAli · 05/04/2011 16:13

I was thinking more these:
www.boots.com/en/Boots-Baby-Organic-stock-vegetable-x6_124064/ but maybe they are too salty too... will have to go shopping to find out.
Jack's sweet lunch was his treat for being so good in a&e then at the clinic re: his head! Wink

OP posts:
beaditAli · 05/04/2011 16:32

Just cooking Jack's tea! I'm getting the cooking buzz! Finally! Grin

1 onion
half yellow pepper
1 garlic clove
1 courgette
1 sweet potato
4 tbspns frozen peas
basil
olive oil and water................. will let you know later! Fingers crossed! Hmm

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 05/04/2011 16:49

I think it's the baby part rather than the organic part that makes them ok but yes they are fine, says at the salt is regulated so maybe check just how much!

lumpybananapuree · 05/04/2011 19:10

Day 2, totally dry! Go Toby!!! My babys growing up!

Cinnamon I cry every time I think of Toby starting school! I've got over a year to go but am still dreading it!

I really hope sassy is ok. she doesn't seem to use her facebook as much as me some people!

Any recipes with stock in I just use water! I'm too lazy tomake my own!

mapletrees · 05/04/2011 19:27

I bought those ones. There's no added salt listed in the ingredients, though I think there is probably some in the 'yeast extract' that's in them. The nutrition info on the box says that there's 0.03g sodium per 100ml stock, but I'm not sure how this compares to other baby stock cubes...

cinnamongreyhound · 06/04/2011 08:03

Arrgghh! Not such a successful cooking attempt last night! Made rice pudding but left it to simmer while we ate dinner, had been going for 10 mins with no sign of boiling over but when we went back to the kitchen almost all of the milk was on to hob and there was a tiny amount of rice pudding burning in the pan!!

Luke has a cold which hasn't been a problem but he was coughing lots last night and it kept waking him up :(. No high temp just wanted to sleep and couldn't so I'm knackered and he's grumpy this morning. I have a preschool committee meeting tonight for at least 2 hours and I am then working collecting unreturned census forms Thursday and Friday for 3 hrs each. Think the rest of this week is going to feel very long! I heard on the radio this morning that 7 million people still haven't returned them guess we'll be busy!

So glad today is ds1's last day of school until 27th, hopefully my happy little man will be back Grin

lumpybananapuree · 06/04/2011 10:54

Just got Olly weighed. Only 4oz weigth gain in a month. Dropping a centile! I'm not going to worry like I did with ds1 but need high calorie food suggestions. He has a small appitite but what he does eat, he eats well if that makes sense! The hv suggested more snacks but I don't want to fill him up on snacks so he doesn't eat his meals.
He currently has:

5am 5oz milk
8am 1/2 weetabix with baby porridge mixed in & full fat milk (3oz ish!)
10am 5oz milk
12pm lunch (similar amount as breakfast) and yoghurt or biscuit
2pm 5oz milk
4.30pm tea (half previous amounts) and fruit pot
6.30pm 3-4oz milk

main meals are usually veg concoctions!

Any suggestions???

I asked about his lack of weight bearing too and they said to review it at his under 1 year check & if he still isn't then, get him referred!

Olly 31 weeks!
