And congrats to Olly on his good night's sleep. Lots more of those for your mummy please Smile

comixminx · 03/04/2011 08:55

Happy Mother's Day indeed! I don't believe in it really as it was never something we did when I was little, but for this first year we're going for a nice meal. What's everyone else doing?

banana, congrats on Olly's long sleep! And many more...

Dixiebell · 03/04/2011 10:31

Happy Mothers' Day everyone. Arlo got me a facial and head massage, whi h was a big surprise, so very happy. And despite all the wedding shenanigans, he slept till 6.45, so v.happy today!

cinnamon, he's still not keen on taking milk from elsewhere, but timings worked out okay for BFing yesterday, and I got to do it in the bridal suite so not bad!

beaditAli · 03/04/2011 13:19

bloody hell i've only gone and given Jack egg and now his face has blown up and he can barely stay awake. Help! What did I do? Can't believe I gave him it now Sad
Anyone got experience of this???
Like a nettle rash on his cheeks Sad Sad
On hold to nhs direct..................

Sounds like an allergic reaction beadit? Hope he's ok now.....

lumpybananapuree · 03/04/2011 15:01

Beady is he ok?????????

mapletrees · 03/04/2011 15:54

Please let us know that he's ok soon as you get the chance.....

cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2011 17:01

So sorry beatitAli!! I'm a bit late but no experience as neither of mine have had a reaction to anything so far. Luke has had egg with no trouble. Will be waiting to hear hope he is ok xxx

beaditAli · 03/04/2011 17:43

Just back from a&e. Jack got pretty bad and looked like a beetroot. Was covered in hives and roasting hot. Literally covered! Arms, legs, belly, face, back etc etc. Definitely allergic to egg! Sad
There I go on my first day of being a better cook for him and I poison him! Wink
Got pictures on my phone but can't upload them. Maybe Lumps knows how to if I text to you???
He's been discharged with a week's worth of Piriton and has to go and have all the blood tests and tests to check what else he might react to.
One of the Docs suggested it might be a gene thing and linked to his Dad's asthma. He flirted with all the nurses tho so I wasn't too worried as he seemed happy... just looked a state.
For anyone else concerned....... if you see swelling in the mouth/lip area at all or purpling of the lips you MUST ring 999 straight away. Apparently a fish reaction is worse than egg.
Anyway........... he's just taken a load of porridge so will hopefully sleep well tonight. He slept through last night too for the first time a long time! Grin
Oh..... also going to a private clinic about his flat head tomorrow. That's if they'll do the consult after this episode....... Hmm

I'm so glad he's ok beadit. It must have been very scary for you. Hope you have a nice relaxing night tonight. Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2011 18:17

Thank goodness all ok, allergies are very scary things! Glad the piriton has sorted him out!!

lumpybananapuree · 03/04/2011 18:48

Right. Not sure if this will work! I'm not very computer minded but this should be Jack

Oh! Has that worked? You might have to friends with lumpy to view the picture of my poor little boiled egg boy but thought it would be of interest to you fellow weaning mums. Smile
Pretty sure this reaction is rare but don't hesitate to go to hospital. It only took Jack 40 mins to get like this from the initial nettley rash on his cheek and chin.

Can't see the photo but sounds very scary! Glad it has worked out ok - and at least now you know, and can get him checked out for other allergies. Hope things calm down now...

mapletrees · 03/04/2011 19:44

Well, I've found something that Louis doesn't like to eat! Tried to give him a shop-bought pouch for lunch, but he wasn't having any of it... Thought he might just have not been hungry so I tried again at teatime but no, he's even developed a new 'don't like it' noise Grin. I offered him some of his favourite lovely lentils and he wolfed them down in about 30 seconds, so I guess he was hungry then. A small part of me loves the fact that only mummy and daddy's home made food is good enough, but a larger part is thinking "bugger, what are we going to do on the plane?" Will have to try him on some other flavours and see if he likes those....

cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2011 19:55

Ds1 loved the lovely lentil mapletrees going to make some for Luke this week :-D

newmum001 · 03/04/2011 20:04

I can't see the photo either beadit but you must have been terified! So glad he's ok now!

We gave Grace weetabix this morning as advised by the (stupid) HV to get her used to texture and she wasn't sick yay!! She gagged loads but i went from quickly shoving her juice cup in her mouth to wash it down to clapping and singing to distract her and it worked. Will Gradually make it thicker over the course of the week and see how we get on.

Hope everyone has had a lovely mothers day, i have been spoilt rotten and got the most amazing cake (pics on fb) a friend of ours has just started her own cake business and is sooo talented! We spent the first half of the day with DP's mum and the second half with mine and i just realised that i've been so busy i completely forgot to get a photo of me and Grace on my first mothers day and i cried!!!! I just got really really upset so i had to pick her up whilst she was asleep and have one!! I'm such a mard arse these days!!

Yay to Olly for his massive sleep!!

lumpybananapuree · 03/04/2011 20:38

Those of you on facebook, I've now made it so you should be able to see Jacks pic! How do I put a photo from my profile onto the group wall??

cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2011 20:44

Just go to the group, click share photo and select it from where everyou uploaded it from the first time. Hope that makes sense!!

lumpybananapuree · 03/04/2011 20:49

Right! try that!!!

lumpybananapuree · 03/04/2011 20:54

Jack or even this!!

Dixiebell · 03/04/2011 20:59

Seen the photo now, looks horrendous and so scary! Glad he is okay though.

maple, if you do find a pouch Louis likes, make sure you try it several times. We did the same for the wedding yesterday (an Ella's Kitchen one as no additives), he ate it fine once but flatly refused at the wedding. Don't know if it was because of the taste, or different environment or what, but rather frustrating as we thought we'd been clever testing it out in advance!

Arlo is 6 months tomorrow, can't believe it. newmum, I never even thought about getting a photo today, now I wish I did...tempted to do the same..!!
