cinnamon woop woop for luke! That's great. Harlyn hadn't repeated his roll from last week. He was very close to rolling back to front today but didn't quite manage it and gave up! Bless him.

He has started to have longer fits of giggles too rather then the odd outburst which is just too cute, especially as it shows off his lovely teeth.

Well, on Saturday night o was graced with the presence of my first post preggers period!!! Booo!

Hope everyone is well as haven't had a proper catch up yet. My laptop is broke and I find reading too many posts ony phone gives me eye ache x

FriggFRIGG · 07/03/2011 22:05

my name is Arlo and i love bashing stuff.Grin

(i'll catch up later)

saoirse86 · 08/03/2011 10:22

Beadit I hope you're all feeling better soon.

Jodey I'm so jealous of the giggles. My niece has been giggling since christmas ( Shock ) but Orlaith still doesn't do it. She has this really geeky sounding amused noise she does but definitely not a giggle! She's also decided rolling over isn't all that exciting after all and hasn't been doing it much. It does make my life a bit easier though Blush

I have just started period number 4 and it is bloody painful! Angry I've resorted to taking painkillers I was prescribed after an operation on my uterus. I'm sure they're fine for painful periods too! Hmm Has anyone else (who's having periods) found them quite irregular? The start of my first one to the start of my second one was 3 weeks, then the next one 4 weeks and this one was 5 weeks. I could quite happily go with this if they keep getting further apart though! Grin

saoirse86 · 08/03/2011 10:31

Orlaith10 here. Morning everyone.

We're going to my mum's cousin's baby's christening (I'm too young to know what that makes him to me) and mum's making me go in this dress that's too big for me. All the other babies are going to laugh at me for looking silly. I might poo all over it, that'll teach her!

Then after that on sunday we're going to the st patrick's day parade Grin Dmum and DAuntie Aswalia keep saying how much fun it is, but it looks like they're going to be working. Oh well, I see them both every day, it'll be a nice change. I'll do my new smile for people. It must be really beautiful because people laugh loads when I do it! Grin

beaditAli · 08/03/2011 12:46

Nice reading some happy things on here given Jack's current state.
BabyG A windy, windy bum!! Well done you Grin

Mum has just gone out with Jack for a walk so I can chill for bit. He is so poorly bless him Sad
Got no voice in him to cry so does these awful, heartbreaking moans. We took him to an emergency GPs last night as he was roasting hot and just could not sleep. They took a good look and he's now on ibuprofen as well as antibiotics. They are helping him at least take a small drink of juice every now and again but he's not had milk or solids for about 30 hours Sad

I slept with him in our bed last night and i'm convinced it helped him get some shut eye. I know it's not recommended but we managed quite a good job of walling him in one side of the kingsize bed so he slept ok. not me tho Sad rocking the Worzel Gummidge look again today.

Think DaisyBears is feeling a bit better and Sarah looks like she had some kip last night! Just spotted them walking to the co-op! Smile

Brew anyone???

cuddles and calpol all round and a Brew for you bead x

FriggFRIGG · 08/03/2011 15:21

oh,and buy a sling,it will at least get you through illnesses like this one, ring slings are great for about the house, wraps or ergo types are better for walking around for hours.Smile

lumpybananapuree · 08/03/2011 16:56

Beady Sounds more like you need a Wine

cinnamongreyhound · 08/03/2011 18:11

That's awful beaditAli, wishing Jack well very soon! Luke had a cold a few weeks ago and nearly lost his voice it was so weird hearing him squeaking out some kind of cry.
Ibuprofen is good for a temperature but I think more people are worried about giving it than paracetamol. A Brew sounds good to me. I had a terrible night last night too but I think it's mostly worry and not being able to get back to sleep after I've been up feeding little man so I feel for you.

I don't think mine have been more painful but they were much heavier after ds1 saoirse86. Perhaps you should just mention it to the hv and see if they should be considerably more painful? After ds1 they were regular straight away but I have only had 2 since Luke and they were 6 weeks apart so not regularity. Definitely recommend a mooncup though if they are heavier it's very convenient.

Have managed to get access to my sef online now and have been filling it in today, I hate self evaluating and am really rubbish at it. Still it's only once every 3 years I guess! More paperwork tonight after dinner and bed for the boys and then silk Grin. Think I will give Luke a bit of pancake, anyone else trying their lo's with some? He's already having wheat, milk and egg so no worried here with that.

watersprite · 08/03/2011 18:40

Beaditali, hope Jack is feeling much better soon, it's awful when there ill. Maria-Ann has started with a cold just hope it's not a bad one this time.

Saoitse86, my periods are really irregular and have been since my first period after pregnancy, this may be due to being on the pill though. I feel like i live in sanitary towels at the moment, I could invest in shares as I buy that many Shock also mine are really painful but I do have endometriosis so that may be why.

Tried changing my bedroom round in the hope Maria-Ann would sleep a little batter but she was more unsettled than usual probable because of this stinking cold she's got. Her little nose is stuffy poor thing. She's not gone off her food so that's good and she did find at 2am this morning punching my boobs rather funny [hmmm]

Maria-Ann 26 wks

watersprite · 08/03/2011 18:43

I really need to learn how to spell Grin batter-better! lack of sleep Hmm

newmum001 · 08/03/2011 18:50

saoirse mine have been loads heavier than before i had grace and so much more painful, also they're making me absolutely exhausted! I'm going to have to go back on the pill cause it really calmed them down before.

Grace is going in her cot tonight, my sleep is so messed up cause she's sooo restless in the night. She is constantly lifting her legs up and banging them down really hard and as she's in a travel cot and the mattress isn't very thick it's making such a racket and i'm waking up every time she does it. Also because i'm sleeping a lot lighter DP's snoring is really really bothering me, i wear earplugs anyway but i'm waking up as soon as he starts doing it and telling him to roll over etc incase he wakes Grace up. I am absolutely exhausted!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 08/03/2011 20:43

You'll be fine newmum001, or should I say she'll be fine!

Here's Luke enjoying his pancake, he sucked it to death! Luke has also started to put his arms out when I go to pick him up, it's so cute. I bought him a toothbrush at the weekend and he absolutely loves having his teeth brushed, I do the gums as well to get him used to having the brush at the back of his mouth too Grin

FriggFRIGG · 08/03/2011 21:11

soooo cute cinnamon !!

forgot to add

Arlo 6 months 4 days Shock

MammyG · 08/03/2011 21:14

Cinnamon Lovely pics. Phoebe just wont hold food! She does jazz hands instead and gets all excited but wont hold it herself!
beadit Hope wee jack is feeling a bit better already x

There are diggers at my house as we get the outside all fixed up to sell. The boys were outside all afternoon copying everything with their own diggers and shovels and just hero worshipping the guys. Too cute. Even had to bring them out pancakes as the boys insisted!
Put Phoebe in her stander/toy thing this eve. She loved it! Spent ages in there shouting and playing! She is a mad giggler even laughs out raucously. Its adorable - Harry spent 20 mins on the floor with her this eve just making noises at her and she was roaring laughing. He was beside himself.

newmum001 · 08/03/2011 21:24

Awww cinnamon he looks so cute! We didn't have pancakes tonight cause i couldn't be arsed so we're having them tomorrow instead i'm gonna let grace try. Does luke gag on food? I'm obsessed with gagging grace has done it twice and it's really scared me and made me not want to give her anything to nibble on again but at the same time i know she won't learn to swallow if i don't keep letting her try things.

Debs75 · 08/03/2011 21:32

Cinnamon they looked so cute. I gave Lucy some and she sucked it, I did think she had eaten it until I took her out her bumbo and found most of it squashed into her leg.

Lucy has been such a sleeper today. She slept from 10.30 - 3.15 and then for 30 mins at 5 and sh has just had another 30 mins at 8.30. she better sleep tonight I am shattered

mapletrees · 08/03/2011 22:10

cinnamon what a pair of cuties. Luke looks like he's really started to enjoy his food Smile We had pancakes tonight, but mean mummy made them after Louis had gone to bed. (Tbh he doesn't like finger foods yet anyway, he prefers to feed himself mush with a spoon Grin)

beadit and frigg I hope Jack and Arlo are feeling better soon.

mapletrees · 08/03/2011 22:14

newmum Louis went through a phase of banging his legs down in his cot, but he stopped after a week or so. Has Grace been doing it long? Hopefully she'll get bored of it too.. Now Louis prefers to wriggle and roll until he's wedged at 90 degrees, then call for me to rescue him Angry Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 09/03/2011 00:55

Not as much as he used to newmum001! He seems to have learned know that something at the back of his throat doesn't mean he's going to choke on it, he now just sucks a bit more which usually either breaks it up or moves it. I gave him a chunk of raw potato to chew the other day and he put it in to far but every time it made him gag he pushed it in so was ramming it right down his throat, I know I shouldn't laugh but he wasn't upset by it, I pulled it straight out and he shoved it back in his mouth. You also have to remember how small they are and how much they have to learn, gagging is ok as it stops then choking, I know it's scary but I think you need to relax a bit.

Sorry mapletrees but Grin at Louis wedging himself in!

watersprite · 09/03/2011 09:15

Tired, tired, tired i know your all probable sick to death by now of me moaning on about being tired Blush Maria-Ann was so misarable last night and I can't blame her with this bloody cold. Taking her to GP's this morning. She just couldn't lie down as every time she did she was really unsettled. I tried her in her cot with the mattress on a slant but she would just end up the other way round. I then put her in our bed but she wouldn't settle there either Sad she's also pulling at her ear so I'm not sure if it's an ear infection or she's just discovered it's there Confused moan over Wink

cinnamon your pics are lovely, dd1 is going to help make pancakes as it was too late last night when I remembered.

newmum001 my DP's snoreing is really load, he went in and had an OP on his throat. Hasn't made a differeance yet but it's only been a mth or so and he still has scabs on the back of this throat so supose they need time to heal first. He has spent most of his time on the coach. Which I feel quite guilty for Hmm he came to bed the other night but eneded up back on the coach after a few hrs, his choice. Maria-Ann gets really startled when she hear's him snore Hmm so I really feel for you.

Maria-Ann 25+1 not 26

FriggFRIGG · 09/03/2011 09:23

mapletrees Arlo does that to,he gets his leg stuck to though...BlushGrin

well,i think Arlo knows he's 6 months old now,as he's suddenly ravenous he's always been hungry, but i feel utterly drained today,he was feeding all night i am not impressedAngryGrin.

we have been giving him little tastes of things, like a spoon of his sisters porridge or bits of fruit and veg from our plates, but not really his own bowl of food that i expect him to actually eat.
this morning however he had a bowl of bannana porridge and gobbled the lotShock!

that was at 7:30 since then he's had two more milk feeds and has just now fallen asleep on my lap!
i cannot believe how suddenly starving he is!!

on the moving front,he can now crawl forward and back, roll front and back,he backs up on to his knees from crawling position and sits himself up too! also when he's on his knees and doent decide to sit on his bum,he lifts himself in the air like he's about to get up and walk offGrin it's so weird !!

hmmm,maybe thats why he's so hungry!!Grin

oh the things i'd do for a DC that stayed still !!!!Envy

saoirse86 · 09/03/2011 10:55

The weird thing about this period is that it's ridiculously painful but so light I almost don't even need a tampon! Confused It's completely different to the other periods I've had that were extreeeemely heavy. I don't want to go onto any hormonal contraception, parlty because I had terrible bleeding problems before getting pg which were made worse by contraception, and partly because I would like to get pg some time in the not-too-distant future. Although I am finding having a baby who doesn't really do sleeping is a good contraceptive! Hmm

newmum Orlaith has always gagged on everything and I did find it horrible at first but I'm used to it now. That's one thing I think will make weaning quite slow when we start.

cinnamon those pics are so cute Grin

And MammyG your boys sound so sweet, I hope my child(ren) will be as lovely as they are Smile

frigg is it time to buy reins and a cage playpen?! Grin

newmum001 · 09/03/2011 12:25

mapletrees - she's done it since the day she was born she's always been so restless but she's a lot bigger now and really throws her weight into it and the banging is soooo loud she did fine in her cot though, just one wake up at 4.30 which is unual for her but so much better nthan i expected.

cinnamon i really do need to relax but it scares the shit 9out of me, i keep expecting something to get wedged in her throat and coke her!!

Any one got any good ideas for good first finger foods?

We're having to spend the day at my sisters today and tomorrow cause theres supposed to be road works on my street and i know it sounds sad but it's so nice to have a change of scene!

mellymooks · 09/03/2011 12:37

Hello lovely ones!! Sooooo much to catch up on on this thread!! Hope all that are poorly pick up soon, we're the same here seem to have been ill for weeks with coughs and colds etc.

frigg can't believe Arlo is up to all that already!! Flynn has just sussed out sitting for a fair amount of time before then dramatically nose-diving! Hasn't really rolled much though.

Really envious of all those who are off and flying with the weaning, Flynn not interested at all yet, but I'm struggling to keep going BF on such crap sleep, he still never sleeps more than 3 hours at anyone go Sad

Gorgeous weather here, we just had a lovely weekend visiting my brother, I waved to you frigg as we passed by your neck of the woods on the way Grin it was great to see him and know that I can organise going away with two kids without taking the entire contents of our house with me Wink

Periods yet to return for me, I think it was about 10 months last time before they returned. Am quite happy for them to take at least that long again this time....!
