Well done Seashells. I've got my cup of tea thanks. No really, I have.

tiredfeet · 09/02/2011 15:23

Good thread title seashells!

nymphadora · 09/02/2011 15:54

Oh it's just like baby group , please no nursery rhymes though!

Nice thread, and nice to be here! Thanks, SeaSh!

LOL @ 'excrement catching', ft! :) Our reasons are pretty much as per diaperfreebaby.org/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=2&MMN_position=3:2.

H, rather you than me re the youth weekend - hope you manage some relaxing time for you and DS. Country house sounds nice though!

DS is four months old today - where does the time go?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 09/02/2011 18:54

Marking place then off to sleep. See you tomorrow.

nymphadora · 09/02/2011 19:41

She just drank nearly 1 ozfrom a bottle. With me squeezing it & loads going down her chin Hmm think we will end up missing bottles at this rate.

Anyone else have a bad night on Sundau? Mentioned it at baby group & half the room had had excessively bad nights on Sunday

Elsa123 · 09/02/2011 21:54

No Nymph Sunday was ok. DD was a little champion today for her jabs- she did cry but when the nurse asked her for a smile, she smiled at her through her tears- so cute bless her. I think she may be up tonight as she isn't feeling the best. However....she properly laughed for the first time this evening! I was undressing her for her bath and pulled her socks off with a Weee! and she laughed out loud! [very proud emoticon].

NoHun we're not trying ECing yet but I'm thinking about it as DD is a frequent flyer in the No2 department and we get through 7 nappies a day.

Well done to your DD3 Nymph keep at it- thats what my DD did too. Are you placing your fingers under her chin so her jaw can bounce off them?

Hermya I suppose as I'm always gallivanting about the country the travelling is fine for us- but if you like here's some of my top tips. Pack up the car then stay at home until your DS has his next feed. Get straight in the car after the feed- no delaying so you get maximum time in the bag travelling with him satisfied and full. If he's asleep don't stop or interfere with him in any way until he wakes himself. When you get to your destination, get him in, changed and plonk yourself on the sofa and feed him and let your DH do all the moving in of stuff ooh and get him to make you tea Grin.

Seashells thank you for setting up the thread, very industrious of you Smile. Having tea now but no [biscuits] in the house...feeling deprived.

Elsa123 · 09/02/2011 21:55

That would be Biscuit....that was me trying to be snazzy....

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 09/02/2011 23:36

Nymph-try stroking along the jaw line to stimulate sucking?

Hermya-I second all of elsa's advice, hope it goes ok for you. We find the car sends them to sleep so it's fine, I sit in the back though soni can entertain/settle her if the drive is long (it's 2hrs to mum and I've not done it on my own yet)

Dd has gone from being very easy to settle to a little tinker...she wants to hold my hand. Cute, but not something I want to continue too long!

I know there are fellow John simm/Philip glenister fans here that will share my pain-I have NO SKY and mad dogs starts tomorrow. There is no justice in the world!

Hi just a flying visit to mark my place. Have been reading but not had much chance to post. I've been selling some maternity clothes and some of dd's clothes on eBay and I must admit I've been a bit of a geek checking for any bids any chance I've had to go online. It's the first time I've tried selling.
Glad to see everyone is doing well. We've had lots of bad nights so I've given dd a bottle of formula tonight vainly hoping that will help her sleep longer but the main reason I've done it is because whilst she has been a little milk monster I've struggled to keep up expressing so whilst she has had a formula it's given me chance to make a spare bottle or two for the fridge.
We went to mamas and papas factory outlet yesterday and spent much more than I planned but now the nursery is looking fab for when dd is ready to move in.
Anyway sorry not name checked but am on my phone.

Hermya321 · 10/02/2011 09:21

Seashells I don't have sky but truely there is no justice in the world really is there.

Elsa I think I'll do just that actually, DH needs the excercise. Grin

Sam Oh I am jealous of your nursery it sounds lovely, we still haven't got the cot out of the box yet.

nymphadora · 10/02/2011 10:02

We've not done dd3s room either though it has a double futon in there so she won't fit in til that goes to the cellar which won't happen til we have a builder which won't happen til I'm sure about my job!

I'm having lots of joint problems again though and feeling wrecked :(

SamanthaB123 · 10/02/2011 15:19

Very exciting here...woke up to shrieks coming from the kitchen at 6am. Dd1 had managed to drop her bowl of special K on her foot and cut herself. We found her wailing in a pool of blood which was pumping merrily out of her. She had a massive gash in her foot and we could see the bone. DH was brilliant and stemmed the flow while I called an ambulance. Four stitches and crutches for a week. Phew, what a start to the day!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 10/02/2011 15:49

Wow!! Sam that must have been horrifying!

We've lost our tenants :( financial woes ahead!

nymphadora · 10/02/2011 16:30

OMG Sam thats horrific! Urgh to the bone, I can cope with blood etc but bone on tv is the bit that gets me! Was she ok apart from the foot? Or dud she pass out/throw up etc?

SilverSky · 10/02/2011 17:34

anyone any advice here

Hermya321 · 10/02/2011 22:32

Well lets just say that todays journey was an absolute nightmare. We stopped twice and then got stuck in traffic, cue DS screaming blue murder. I actually got my pump out and expressed some milk and had to try and give it to DS reaching over the back of the seat to try and stop the screaming. Probably wasn't the wisest of ideas, but he was getting beyond himself and we were stuck miles from any services.

I have told DH in no uncertain terms that we will not be doing that long of a journey (save for going home) for a very very long time. I just can't cope with the stress of it all.

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 10/02/2011 23:20

Hello ladies, sam that sounds awful.
I am more sure that sophie is teething, she was very temperamental tonight.
Iam so tired.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 11/02/2011 03:40

Oh dear Hermya :( next one will easier I hope. I must have wiped memories of our 6hr trip home from my mind!

Tyson-dd had been up for hours too!

Right so, random job done but dd is on the rainbows and brownies waiting list already. Round here it is stupidly busy and at least I can turn it down when the time comes if I want to. Never been this organised in my life but the local mums put the wind up me!!!!

OP posts:
Hermya321 · 11/02/2011 08:20

Seashells Ooooo why do they wind you up?

Also do you think that the stupid trip would be better done at night? Do children travel better at night?
