it appears I posted the last post... so here's a new thread

Let's do a summer meet up at peppa pig world! :)

yes, csws I know of that place and have heard of it, but it's so far away and doesn't seem worth the journey at all. I like the Idea of a real Thomas train coming to a normal train station with his friends for the day and taking a ride on him, playing games...etc.

ronshar · 30/03/2011 14:17

Peppa Pig world is on the list for easter holiday outings. Not sure W will cope with the excitment mind you. I shall report back and we can perhaps arrange a meet up in term time. It is doable for me within school hours and no where near as busy as in the holidays. Or in holidays. Which ever is best for everyone.

HMM salt water washes will help enormously. It will hurt mind you.Wink

pepperrabbit · 30/03/2011 17:41

Right. What's the matter with me this week - suggestions please:
Mon - v tired
Tues - v tired, sudden attack of cystitis, drank gallons + some bicarb (shudder)
Wed - v tired, (again/still/forever!), flashy eye disturbance, headache,
Now, vague headache, no cystitus BUT I have a sore throat.
WTF???
Please don't tell me it's my age.
Feel like I need to go to bed for 24 hours and disown my life temporarily...

Honeymoonmummy · 30/03/2011 18:47

Ok, Peppa Pig World is 4 hours away for us [contemplates nervous breakdown]

Honeymoonmummy · 30/03/2011 18:58

Oh Thomas Land is much much closer for me!! Does anyone fancy a meet up there as well as Peppa Pig??

Ronshar, will it really hurt?? If so I refuse to do it!!! The HV told me on fri that they no longer recommend salt baths. Mind you, she also told me something else which turned out to be BS (not my usual MW).

Pepper, i don't know what to suggest but i'm sorry you feel so crap.

Honeymoonmummy · 30/03/2011 19:14

Can't believe DS is a whole week old already, the week has flown. He has been cluster feeding today, was wondering if it might be his growth spurt - seem to think MW said at 10 days but given that he was a week late....? either that or could it be a symptom of his thrush?

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/03/2011 20:25

cluster feeding prob just a symptom of being a young baby hmm Wink.

pepper - have you had a GTT recently?

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/03/2011 20:26

oh and i could prob combine thomasland with a stay at my parents (must check that that's actually nearer Hmm) so would consider a meet up there, yes.

pepperrabbit · 30/03/2011 21:04

Hadn't thought of that CSWS, will go do a fingerprick test if I can find my kit. May have to go to the docs, need another referral for my wrist anyway as it's almost certain to need an op and has less functionality by the week and my cast is falling apart. Always like to take a list if I go to the GP!
Night all.

Honeymoonmummy · 30/03/2011 21:53

Thanks CSWS HmmGrin Good, that makes 2 of us- anyone else? I'll ask Jenwa via FB as I don't think it's too far for her.

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2011 11:01

Jenny is up for it depending on dates Smile

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2011 11:02

Jenwa. Bloody predictive text.

KSal · 31/03/2011 13:10

Em's bum slightly improved after bare night... and no wet bed. She was calling out at 3ish and DH was trying to ignore her until i pointed out she was without nappy at which point he lept out of bed... sure enough she needed a wee Grin

CSWS any tips for infant gaviscon and BF babies... especially bedtime/night feed... do i syringe it in?

don't think i'll be making any meet up as i'm back to work in a month Shock and on holiday before that

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2011 15:01

Ksal I administered infant gaviscon using tommy tippee bottles a first as they resemble shape of boob, Poppy never went off the boob or anything, she was doing that from 6 weeks. Then I moved to dr browns as it minimises the wind which then minimises the vomiting.

It's funny because i was just coming on here to say I'm pretty sure DS has reflux, he's been bit sick after every feed since milk came in, more than just posset I think (is that just spit?) and has just brought up some 'milk curd' sick about an hour after feeding. He's in absolutely no discomfort tho which is v different from poppy. He isn't vomiting anything like whole feeds. Why do I want to say 'yet' after those 2 sentences?? Hmm

Should I get him on infant gaviscon or just leave it be? I don't know what to do with a non-drastic case!

KSal · 31/03/2011 15:38

Hmm, if he's happy and gaining then i would be inclined to let it be... as then its only really a mess problem rather than discomfort iyswim. If he's showing signs of pain, then that's a different matter altogether

Em and Orin both very sicky but happy with it and gained/gaining really well. I only turned to the gaviscon after introduction of solids for practical reasons really (milk sick ok, food sick revolting) so more for my benefit than theirs if i'm honest. Emma covered all the nursery staff with sick a few times before they begged me to try the gaviscon Grin

My GP was just telling me how her son just took too much milk and then sicked up the surplus, so could just be that? Also I know gaviscon can cause constipation, so in my case i am going to try it and if it bungs him up i will stop.

Emma was on it til a year in the end, but she was bottle fed (hence the question).

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2011 15:58

I did put it down to sicking up the surplus at first but I'm pretty sure that the fact he was sick an hour after feed is symptomatic of reflux. Thank god Poppy's reflux stopped when she went onto solids!!

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2011 15:59

Don't you just hate it when they do a crap just after you've changed them?? Hmm

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2011 16:14

Almost as much as when you tempt fate by saying something stupid like the above only to have them finish the crap on your hand while you're changing them HmmHmm

KSal · 31/03/2011 16:33

ha ha crap after changing is still a favourite of orin's... are you enjoying the comedy weeing too? nappies are soooo different with a boy :)

yes you are right... the sicking up of curdled milk is refluxy, i forgot you wrote that. its what convinced me with emma - kind of clear with bits - yum!

OP posts:
KSal · 31/03/2011 17:10

hmm - did you prepare the gaviscon before you started the feed?

I think I've voted ... If I've not done it properly let me know. Blimey re 3/5 engaged, that is early when not first! I wasn't 3/5 until 38 weeks I think it was.

God I can't remember re gaviscon, think we did it just after feed cos told not to do it beforehand by paed ... Will check with DH, I have baby brain ...!
