StarExpat · 18/03/2011 20:19

:( csws could you get a temp night nurse?

Honeymoonmummy · 18/03/2011 20:22

Ha ha ha Star you must be joking! This is 36 hr labour HMM you're talking to!! Well has the sweep, apparently I'm 1m dilated and she could stretch it a bit Hmm and she touched his head and I have a bishops score of 6 and she got some blood so I had a show. I've had a dull ache since but not getting my hopes up. Cross your fingers for me!!

Honeymoonmummy · 18/03/2011 20:23

Sorry CSWS, x-post.

StarExpat · 18/03/2011 20:35

I was 36 hours, too HMM and I pray it's less for you this time. Knackering!

StarExpat · 18/03/2011 20:37

My bets are on babyhmm being here by 10am. Anyone else?

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/03/2011 20:43

I don't see how I could find someone to be here round the clock by Monday star, esp someone that I like and get on with enough to be with them for so long!

StarExpat · 18/03/2011 20:45

You would only need to put up with them Wink. ask on the childminders nannies au pairs board. A lot of times people reply and can help at short notice there

Honeymoonmummy · 18/03/2011 20:47

I'll put a quid on that Star Wink

Don't know what to suggest CSWS sorry. I hope you get something sorted.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/03/2011 20:55

Ooh hmm - do you really reckon he's on his way? How exciting! Good luck!

Good luck HMM. I'll be eagerly watching this thread for news of your new baby's arrival. Hope it all goes well!!

CSWS - I remember a friend of mine who had a really horrendous emergency C-section and was in a terrible state afterwards got a night nanny type person in at very short notice. I could find out where she got her from if you think it could be useful. I know it was very expensive but she felt it was worth it given her situation.

Honeymoonmummy · 18/03/2011 23:25

Nothing happening yet, don't get your hopes up folks! Sorry you're feeling so grotty Pistachio x

Honeymoonmummy · 19/03/2011 06:45

Still no sign (and still with the PG insomnia...)

Brilliant news Myjob! Sounds like a lovely day Smile

Well I think I've had the rest of my show, lot of brown blood this morning (apologies for TMI), but not much else going on (yet). Fingers crossed something will happen soon now I've had a proper show.

StarExpat · 19/03/2011 20:14

Q doesn't ask for a wee very often. He hasn't had an accident in a long while, but he is so busy most of the time, that I often have to say "if you want to keep playing this, you must do a wee", then he will go do one. If he isn't busy playing (rare) then he'll say "I need a wee"(in car, in buggy...etc) and will hold it until we get to a toilet.

Should I stop telling him to do a wee When he's busy? I wonder if I'm not helping him learn to interrupt his own play to do it when he needs?

He got up from his nap today just before settling and said he needed to do a poo and did one even though he had a pull up on (in the past if he has a pull up on he just prefers to do it in there!) so that was good. He still enjoys getting a sticker for his top, though... He'll be getting them until he's 18 at this rate

StarExpat · 19/03/2011 20:17

Did I say 10am before? I meant 10am sunday morning! Go HMM! Hooray for the show :)

Myjob - mini golf is so expensive isn't it?? There's one near us with life sized dinosaurs all throughout. They let us go in for free without clubs or balls because Q really just wants to see the dinosaurs. It's great fun!

The beach sounds like it was fun :) was it warm there today?

Ekka · 19/03/2011 20:25

Oooh, HMM, that sounds positive... Hopefully things will move more quickly this time round.

Myjob, that sounds a lovely day and well done Naomi for using the potty so well. I don't think Matthew is going to be quite as easy!!!

Star, I'm really impressed with Q. Matthew says he wants to learn his letters but I think thats because Emily reads, because when we actually show him, he is interested but 2 mins later has no memory at all of any of them except M (obviously!) and S Grin. Still, he enjoys looking at them like EMily does, so I figure if it keeps him happy we'll do it anyway!

CSWS, your situation sounds really difficult. I hope that you can get some help in somehow. If dh is away, could the boys sleep in with you so there isn't any lifting for you at night (though I suppose that would mess up all the good work done with their sleeping). Its tricky....

Pistachio, I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight (and that you've enjoyed your day uni and a wedding reception!)

I'm knackered and off to bed in a moment, we had a lovely day on Friday, making things, baking, swimming etc, but then Friday night Matthew was sick every half hour from 11pm through till about 9 this morning. He's got a temp and still can't keep much down, and we've been to the OOH doc to have him checked over as he's been complaining about a sore tummy a few times in the last couple of weeks. However, the doctor thinks its just a virus and will run its course... So lets hope he's brighter tomorrow, and none of the rest of us come down with it. My washing machine has been on non-stop all day Shock

Oh dear, poor tired pregnant ladies. I was with a friend yesterday who's got a couple of weeks to go and she's really tired and grumpy too.

I really hope this is it for you HMM. And that you have an "easy" time of it.

Well done Naomi! She's done all this really quickly hasn't she.

I hope M's feeling better soon, Ekka.

Star - Q's dinosaur knowledge sounds really impressive. It wasn't that long ago that you were worrying about his lack of speech. I thought of you today as I was buying florodix. How are you feeling these days?

We've just been out to Wahaca in Canary Wharf for dinner. It's Mexican food but comes like tapas so you order lots of different dishes. S was brilliant and tried loads of new things, so which he really likes and others less so but I'm so pleased that he's becoming a bit less fussy. He's really making me laugh at the moment. We were playing a game where I was the patient and he was the doctor. He looked really concerned and went running out of the room shouting "I need to find my doctorphones!" It took me a while to figure out that he meant stethoscope.

StarExpat · 19/03/2011 20:49

Thanks myjob. It's fab how quickly N picked it all up! Are you putting her in nappies at night still? Is it lovely having less nappies to wash? I love having less to buy that's for sure!!

Ekka I think the hard part with boys is making sure the willy is aimed correctly. We have had a few wet trousers just because of poor willy placement or poor seating placement on a toilet. I've been sprayed. In public. With no change of clothes.

StarExpat · 19/03/2011 20:53

That is very sweet cf :) you're very lucky to have a not fussy eater. Envy
Q prefers air to most foods often now Hmm

Ekka poor little M. I hope he's on the mend soon. It's horrible when they are so ill :(
