Think I'm getting a cold, sooo tired.

MissJ do you have lots of girl baby clothes? I have 3 crates of gorgeous lovely things and shoes here, if we lived closer I'd so hand the lot over, as unless I meet another man. I don't think I'll be having anymore babies Sad Bella's stuff is so lush, so Envy of these yummy girl babies. Be nice for it to go to someone I know. Anyway I digress, going to watch the box briefly and then head to bed.

GotArt · 07/02/2011 05:39

One week in the new place and we had dinner guests; old friends. It was nice. Nice to be able to have people over and not have UG trolling around. Grin We had a nice Sunday roast.

MJ Too bad about no one wanting to do a breech vaginal birth. My midwife assures me she is definitely fine with it as she has done plenty, as long as I am, which I am. A woman who has birthed over 2000 babies, I am pretty confident that she knows what she is doing.

DD has outgrown shoes and pj's all at once. Shouldn't complain too much as we haven't had to really buy her too much; the shoes is pretty painful though as they are pricey.

120 · 07/02/2011 08:09

Morning all!

MJ recommend you check out spinning babies. Lots of tips for sorting out breech yourself!

tinksbabyis2 · 07/02/2011 09:22

quiet day here
a very grey windy monday here

120 · 07/02/2011 10:25

why oh why did I start this. Am all cross now!

Teaandcakeplease · 07/02/2011 10:58

Walk away and come back later. I agree with your sentiment but I'm not that articulate so I'd probably make it worse if I waded in. It's not too bad so far. Perhaps later some more people will comment who have benefitted from them. I know plenty have on mumsnet.

120 · 07/02/2011 11:42

thanks tea. wise advice. I think there is only really one person who is determined to stir so am ignoring them, though that may make it worse.

treedelivery · 07/02/2011 11:57

120 - such a pisser when a thread gets twisted like that. So annoying! If I had a brain cell in operation I'd be over, but I need sleep. Will check in later and agree with everything you say Grin

Hello Tink & Morning all. Clouds have parted here and I see blue sky out bedroom window. Off to sleep soon I hope, strangely unable to settle. Even my toe joints ache after last 2 nights. Babies. Screaming. Refusing. To. Feed. Insanity. Argghhh.

Have forgotten my new shiny ad's both nights Grin true to form GrinHmm

*MissJ have been at plenty of ecvs and have only seen 1 abandoned for discomfort! Most women found them a bit full on & intense and a bit ouch, but short lived [5-15 mins-ish] and many weren't too bothered by them at all.
Like anything, wait and see how you find it yourself. Hope bubba turns for you, however!!
Moxibustion [sp?] claims success rates of 30%, but how burning something by your ear can turn a baby is beyond me - but then who cares if it works?

HKZ - thank you for the update on J. Let us know what the xrays say.

GotArt - pass me a brownie? Yay for own space in new home.

Pat - how's everything with you?
Waves to all, Moose, Lenni, DOG, Sparkle, EPPM, Stripey [is C's eye all better now?]

tinksbabyis2 · 07/02/2011 16:06

grr 120!!

missjackson · 07/02/2011 21:43

Thanks tree, that's good to know. Nothing to lose I figure, I can always get them to stop if it's painful... really can't see how moxi can work, but hypnotism apparently has the best rate of success so I suppose it's along the same lines, power of suggestion... but the cynical part of me says those babies would have turned anyway.

120 I only read the first page and could already see it heading into deep water! Hope you managed to bail out okay! Totally agree with you that we should be throwing money, education and resources towards babies from birth..

tea thanks so much for lovely offer of clothes - I am actually pretty snowed under with stuff from SIL and another friend, and added to all of N's stuff which I have yet to pass on (maybe no 3 will be another boy Grin), we are running out of space!

gotart new place and privacy sounds heaven. Yes, I was surprised by lack of confidence in breech births here, but I suppose it's a vicious cycle and now cs is the norm so no-one gets any experience. I think independent midwives will do it but they are £££. Do you see many tree? I suppose some must get through unspotted.

120 loads of good advice on spinning babies, what a great site. Am crawling around on my hands and knees, with arse in air as much as possible. Hmm

Hi tink, good to see you are still out there shopping Grin.

Somehow managed to volunteer to take N and 3 of his cousins on an 'adventure' walk this afternoon, through the fields, over gates and back down the lane - 4 boys under 5, so involved lots of mud! Was great fun but all muscles aching now.

treedelivery · 07/02/2011 23:14

Well that's right MissJ. As long is you are not too scared of the thing it's self [and honestly, it has seemed 'ok' in most of the cases I've helped out with - easy for me to say but you know what I mean], and feel able to say stop if you want to, then I guess it's worth a try.

Can't remember the last term breech I saw, tbh. Have seen a few prem breech, and some undiagnosed ones go for stat section. Sorry that isn't exactly encouraging! The Term Breech Trial basically knocked them on the head for a good 10 years, thay are gradually coming back into practice. But between fear of litigation, women being encouraged to research and choose, the way it medicalises the birth anyway [continuous monitoring, high intervention rate etc etc] the increasing openess of medical profession regarding their experience and expertise, the increasing risk adverse society...well it all adds up to most women choosing elective section if I'm honest.
That's my honest take on it. May all be by the by as this bubba may have done 10 back flips today and be settled in cephalic presentation Grin

Off to bed. I have a mega week coming up!

treedelivery · 07/02/2011 23:21

As an add on - by the by. I guess the person in the 'strongest' position to go for a term breech delivery would be someone who has had a previous low intervention vaginal delivery.

By definition a huge majority of breech babies may be in first timers, as most people having a baby in the UK are first timers. That's just the stats I guess. So that is an untried pelvis, with the largest presenting part delivering last. Which has to be [on paper] a higher risk than a tried pelvis that has been shown to accomodate birthing a term baby of standard size.
I'm willing to bet the majority of independent/homebirth breech deliveries are on multip mums. May be wrong though Grin

But those are work thoughts. Must banish work thoughts. Family mode now!!! Till Saturday anyways Smile

GotArt · 08/02/2011 02:43

Here its the same in terms, for the most part, about planned CS for breech babies. I'm just really lucky with my midwife. Its not usual to here to give natural birth for breech. DD turned right on schedule, so hoping this one will too.

I had a really nice complement from my MamaGroup ladies the other day. I'm the chill mom, full of patience with a very firm but loving discipline. lol Apparently I make motherhood look easy. I laughed and said they didn't see us at home when I yell at DD in frustration. Wink

Something really hilarious just happened... I'm sitting here MN, DH and DD are in her bedroom playing, and I hear a fart. I laugh and say "Who was that?" and DD said "Daddy" at the same time DH said "Violet"... so funny. Grin It was DH though.

Teaandcakeplease · 08/02/2011 10:27

Ahh GA lovely compliment from the other moms Smile

tinksbabyis2 · 08/02/2011 16:16

Hi ladies

GotArt · 08/02/2011 18:56

WE had two tremors over the dinner hour Sunday night and last night a wee earthquake. Hmm I just rolled over and went back to sleep. After the 7.2 that his Seattle a few years ago, little ones don't phase me anymore. There's only so much prep you can do anyhow. At least we are in a new place so its all up to par on the earthquake construction specs. We hope. There's also a lot of pot smoking construction workers out here. Wink

GotArt · 08/02/2011 21:46

Just had/been in my very first accident. A woman in a truck came to an unexpected stop to let a pedestrian cross the road as I was pulling out into the street behind her. Barely any damage to her rear bumper but the Toyota took the brunt, smashing in the light and pushing up the hood just enough that it needs to be fixed too. Fuck me. I've never even had a parking ticket. Ever.

Teaandcakeplease · 08/02/2011 22:03

Hope you're ok, these things happen, also hope it's not too costly to fix x

GotArt · 08/02/2011 23:09

Gosh, sorry. Should have added that DD and I are ok. Just really sucks; I wasn't even going to go out today. Just went to get a damn phone so I can let guests into the building without having to go downstairs. They can't hook it up to my cell phone like some new places have.

Argh... DD just woke. She only slept an hour today. We didn't do much, so really not that surprised.

120 · 09/02/2011 08:30

GA glad you are ok! Accidents like that are such a shock.

Teaandcakeplease · 09/02/2011 08:48

DD has a rash that has appeared on various parts of her, red with a white mis-shapen bit in the middle. She does have sensitive skin but I'm drawing a blank, as I haven't done anything differently soap or washing powder wise, it appeared after nursery yesterday and is itchy. She's had it once before when I washed a cleaning cloth with her clothes Blush She's had some piriton to help Confused Any ideas?

tinksbabyis2 · 09/02/2011 11:17

hi gotart wow @ earthquake and accident !!!
glad all ok

tea - all i can think of is chicken pox

quiet day here

120 · 09/02/2011 12:44

you haven't used a new face cream or something on yourself? Hair product? H used to get it on his face when I started using something new on mine; I used to rub the rest on my forearms and his head/face were always resting on there. I've used only nivea ever since! Chamomile tea bags in the bath may help, as might zinc oxide. poor thing! DD had a massive rash with a temp over Christmas but they think that may have been scarlett or glandular fever.

hello tink!

Teaandcakeplease · 09/02/2011 16:47

Don't think so, only things I can think of is that I have a new Sainsbo's stain removing powder I've used on one load of washing Hmm

hackneyzoo · 09/02/2011 18:15

Haven't had time to catch up, just book marking. Vaguely mental at the moment, my Dad is ill so have been flitting between London and Suffolk trying to sort him out and am ...completely knackered. Will come back later when kids are in bed....which will be extremely soon Grin
