I put Jacob on my back in the Ergobaby and took Bella's bike to school to collect her. She normally loves it and giggles as she cycles home on the pavement with my help. Not today, oh no Sad For some reason she threw tantrum after tantrum, wanted to go slow/ walk/ get on again/ I'm scared etc. I'm afraid I got sorely tested and became very grumpy as I'd made such an effort dragging it to school for her for a treat Sad I shall now wallow in guilt for my grumpiness with her...

Teaandcakeplease · 04/02/2011 16:20

I kept getting disapproving looks from other mums too, who looked on in fascination as I struggled with her shenanigans Sad

GotArt · 04/02/2011 16:30

Ah Tea, other moms. Poo on them. I'm sure they've all been there. Ignore, ignore ignore. I understand getting sore about bringing it for her as a treat and them she gets tantrumy. Don't worry too much and don't feel guilty.

Begin nights tonight, off to bed until 7 so I don't feel too awful between 4am and 8am like I usually do.
Not sure how 2 hours sleep is meant to help but it's all I can muster.

Have lovely weekends y'all. See you next week.

GotArt · 05/02/2011 16:56

Have a good shift Tree.

Bookmarking too.

Baby is so very very very active. The moment I sit down, he's turning and kicking and turning and kicking. Its so hard to sleep or relax. I'm dreading what's this is forecasting. Grin Please don't give me a super active child... don't know as though I could manage. Grin

Actually, maybe I should just lay off the sugar. Hmm No way! (heads to kitchen for morning coffee and brownie)

hackneyzoo · 05/02/2011 17:45

First time I ave got to the computer...am knackered!

Had two nights of screaming with DD2 between 7and half 10 before she finally drops off. DS did this...for about 3 months. She seems to take in lots of air when she starts a feed, but she is latched on well I think. I can hear her gulping down the air...any ideas of how to stop this and avoid hours of screamy windy baby?
Having said that, nigts are going well, but I am being super lazy and just feeding her in bed lying down, so we both get sleep...and I get to snuggle a newborn all night.

GA..DD2 was super active on the inside, but seems pretty chilled (apart from the whole screaming thing the last few evenings!) now she is out.

J has turned into a textbook 2 year old over night... definitely trying it on at the moment then redeeming imself by being all cute and cuddly. GOSH app. didn't reveal anything new. They took some x rays of his spine as they think it is slightly curved at the top b/c of tumour, so will wait for those results. He does have a tendancy to lean to one side with is neck, I never notice it but everyone points it out!

Dsis is staying this weekend so has been helping while DH has been at work. She has gone out now...so I have caved in and stuck them all in front of the tv Grin

Right I need to mentally prepare myself for the bathtime/ bed time hour Wine

Wind every few minutes and use gripe water or infacol? Baby massage the tummy and cycle the legs too. Maybe go to a BF clinic for some tips just in case. Windy babies suck Sad Still have the shivers thinking back to DS's 10 weeks of hell with colic and H was hardly around to help.

120 · 05/02/2011 19:48

HZ can she be overly hungry when you feed her in the evening? Your milk can drop, just when they are getting hungry for the night. I used to have a second lunch, or tea around 3pm, then feed H from 4 until 7 pretty much. Once DP home I would lie down with a book (or you could watch a film with the babies) whilst feeding. May be worth a try. Otherwise a walk with her in a sling and JB? You never said how he is doing by the way.. hope he is feeling better.

GotArt · 05/02/2011 21:54

Ya, my midwife told me to eat something light mid-afternoon or if you have dinner early, before 6 which with little ones around you probably do, eat something light then like some toast and peanut butter, or liverwurst or avocado or something just to keep the nutrients and milk up... if I remember correctly. Keeps your energy level, level as well. We gave DD fennel gripe water too. It seemed to do the trick, and lots of patting on back.

My goodness, I think the baby is playing racquet ball in there or something. Holy cripes, this is so different a pregnancy than DD. Off for a nap with peppermint tea. Went to tumblebums this morning with some of the MamaGroup and am completely done.

GotArt · 05/02/2011 21:55

Eat something light around 8 or 9pm... totally missed that part of what I was saying.

hackneyzoo · 05/02/2011 21:56

Thanks Tea and 120. I don't think she's hungry when I feed her in te evenings as I am feeding her pretty often, am giving her infacol, drinking fennel tea (ewwww). Local children's centre has baby massage followed by BF clinic on Monday morning so might drop in there and see what they say. She does seem a bit better this evening. She doesn't seem interested in cluster feeding at the moment either...hmm

120 JB is much better, pretty much recovered the next day and back to his old self.

Delia's flapjack recipe upped my milk in no time with all the butter and sugar. It was a staple diet of mine for afternoon snack before the evening and the fatty fried egg sandwich at lunch too. They seemed to help me with milk supply. I made some yesterday and I'd forgotten how divine they are. Mmmmmmmm yum yum!

Hope the visit on Monday gives you some more tips for the wind bless her x

GotArt · 06/02/2011 05:48

OMG!!! Get these delicious brownies out of my house!

morning Grin

hi hkz hope wind eases

hi other ladies

missjackson · 06/02/2011 20:15

Hi all. Busy here with endless toddler parties - of course all our little friends are born around the same time as N, so it's a sudden cluster of parties, but next year I think we are going to do a big joint one at a village hall and all bring some toys or something... hire a clown... whatever one does at 3 years old. Gulp.
Anyway, glad to hear nights are going well hkz - I have the same strategy planned, simply to get as much sleep as possible, so lying down feeding and co-sleeping all the way.

gotart brownies sound lush. At least 50% of my nutrition the last month has been derived from cake and related products.

Potentially I've only got 3.5 weeks left, as the baby is breech and they will do an elective cs at 39 weeks if doesn't turn at the EVS or whatever the turning procedure is called (sooooo wish I hadn't watched one born every minute last week!) - anyone else had one? I am not too worried actually, either she'll turn and I will go for home birth, or I'll have the elective cs - no-one seems to want to try a vaginal breech birth and just their lack of confidence in themselves puts me off! And I can see certain advantages to an elective cs... At least we'll know for sure either way - my friend last week got to 8cm before they discovered her baby was breech and she had emergency cs, which is obviously worse case scenario. Still plenty of time for her to turn and lots of good tips to follow so will go all out and hope for the best.

Waves to everyone Smile
