It's humbling to look back at the last year and see how our LO's have gone from helpless newborns to action-packed pre-toddlers.

BRING IT ON!!!

oh Chestnut Grin but Blush for you. Don't you just hate it when those MILs happen to be right sometimes.

I have a rather embarrassing question. I've forgotten who scones used to be Blush

InmaculadaConcepcion · 16/02/2011 15:32

Scones was fizi in her previous incarnation, PA.....

BG, careful now...! Grin
I hope you're feeling better today. Yesterday sounded very trying indeed. And you're usually so positive. I hope you get a bit of family pampering while you're away...

Ha ha, CS, classic! Maybe that's why she's been a bit unsettled during the night...
Good luck with the jabs.

Ah, PA, the sleep thing.... yes. Not too bad last night, over 6 hours, hoorah!
I've just become used to five hours or thereabouts, I guess. It's not ideal, but mostly I feel fine. And not going to work and DH being a helpful angel also help loads.

LBH you okay?

SconesForTea · 16/02/2011 16:34

Phew! Sitting down is lovely Smile I've actually been shopping today. I've been meaning to buy a pair of jeans for ages, as all my 'nice' ones have gone through at the knees, so I'm in my dog-walking ones in the week and my be-spattered decorating jeans to walk the dog... Anyway, pg or no pg, today was the day. I have come home with a pair of jeans that I'm not sure I like Hmm but I was determined to buy some jeans. (Also determined not to put on any weight in 1st trimester. Ha! Said that last time and had put on nearly a stone Hmm.)

Yes I was fiziwizzle but DH spotted me lurking last night and asked who Scones was The namechange was so that I could post about him if need be, so I might have to confuse the issue by changing again...

Does everyone else's DP know what their MN name is? Am I being totally wierd for not wanting DH to be able to ready my posts willy nilly (not that he would (I think))?

BG step away from the thread!! It is strong stuff this MN jinx! Wink Great that you're planning a third though, you'd really like one wouldn't you? I'm still quailing in fear at the thought of two. I don't want to be outnumbered!

Your travelling sounds tough, good on you for attempting it, I don't think I would [scaredy cat emoticon] Poor DD2 after her jabs. I#m dreading them on DD's behalf.

CS Grin

Yes PA we were trying, or rather just not preventing and seeing what happened. If this one sticks I'll be quite impressed, only 2 periods since having DD. Mind you, your pg story is far more impressive.

Better get on with some washing I suppose

SchrodingersCatFliesToOz · 16/02/2011 16:42

Congratulations scones! Grin last time I declared dish washing, cooking and shopping off straight away due to bad nausea with anything smelly. Wink

Happy birthday chinook's DS.

Stangirl · 16/02/2011 17:08

Scones Congratulations! Great news.

Happy birthday chinook's DS.

My DD is also having her jabs tomorrow - DP is taking her as I've done all the previous. I have an entire bottle of calpol standing ready for her upon her return.

PenguinArmy · 16/02/2011 17:13

I think pregnancy nausea has had the audacity to start on my B'day :( Parent are treating me to a curry tonight and don't know if I can stomach it. Been looking forward to a decent curry for months. Plus I was going to go clothes shopping but seems rather redundant now. Oh well, I'm sure I can find something Grin

StoneBaby · 16/02/2011 18:34

Scones Congratulations!!! There's is a jinx for sure. I can safely be on MN! On the other hand I'm a bit Envy and broody of all your successes.

Happy birthday chinook DS. Hi stoof

Not a lot happening here, just our usual routine. DS is getting more and more vocal (his own language) and can do a step or 2 by himself unaided Smile The dummy removal is going fine.

My best advice regarding the night dummy removal is if you get up just to give it to your LO, try not to give it at all (easier say than done) We had a few evenings of tears but that's now 4 months without it.

Full moon on Friday, so my little werewolf may come back.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 16/02/2011 19:03

Happy Birthday, PA. Smile
Bad timing with the nausea, pah. I hope it doesn't get you too badly.

Well done with the new jeans, Scones (or whoever you're going to be next!!) Even if you're not in them for long, it'll be good to have a new pair to go back to after you've dropped the baby weight.

Yes, DH is well aware of my MN nickname and used to read the thread himself until he decided I should have some privacy to whinge about him if I want to. Now he often asks after "the girls".
His MN name is MrIC and he's getting almost as addicted as me, although he tends to mooch around in the politics/bilingualism/chat threads most.

Ooh, good stuff with the steps, SB! How exciting. Here's hoping the full moon doesn't bring out the werewolf this month.

I just started getting that gnawing hunger thing today, which was the first symptom I noticed last time I was pg. That must have been at around six weeks too. I did okay last time round for morning sickness etc. - in fact, had a pretty good pregnancy all round. Here's hoping...

Bearcrumble · 16/02/2011 19:36

Oh happy birthday PA! Sorry you're feeling queasy.

Also very happy birthday to Chinook's DS.

BG Good luck with TTC your third.

My periods still haven't come back despite a couple of bits of spotting that I thought was heralding them. We would like another and are not preventing (though have only had sex once recently and had to have IVF for DS so it's not that likely to happen).

Scones I am not keen on DH knowing, but I don't think he would lurk. He was looking over my shoulder this morning actually and asked "why are you called Bearcrumble?" I really don't know. I just thought it sounded like a mumsnet username.

DS has been back to normal today - he's been a joy. He's been cheerful and funny and he did two good naps in his cot for over an hour each.

It was me who said about the clinginess. That is still very much in evidence. My mum was over today and he went spare when I went to the loo - took four verses of old mcdonald to make him stop crying when I came back.

He stood unaided lots today and for longer than before. No steps yet though.

PenguinArmy · 16/02/2011 20:45

Well done Alex

stoofadoof · 16/02/2011 21:22

well, i've managed to read the last page, but HAVE to go to bed now! am all confused!! pregnancies, name changes, it's not been that long and my MN world appears to be changing!!! wow? congratulations!!! who's done what then??????? a summary would be helpful! ;) promise to try harder!

bethylou · 16/02/2011 21:36

Happy birthday PA - sorry I forgot to wish you many happy returns when I popped in yesterday. Hope you've managed the curry.

Well done to LOs gaining teeth and walking prowess! DS2 would like to add giving kisses to his latest achievements (which kind of makes up for his other current trick - battering us round the face/over the head Hmm) I know some of you have been getting kisses for a while but it has melted our hearts here this week. Smile

For battering us round the face (which DS1 did for a while) we went for catching his arm and replacing it with 'gentle stroking'. This seemed to work quite quickly so hope it might help any of you whose LOs develop the same aggressive tendencies!!

PenguinArmy · 16/02/2011 21:36

name change, including old ones just in case it's been that long
sconesfortea = fizi
stonebaby = GF
chestnutsoup = watercress
schrodingerscat... = mamaloco
penguin = climber

preggers list:
stangirl, about 4 months now
IC, PA and scones all tested positive this month. Mine was despite taking the MAP (which also was the first time we'd had proper sex since DD). IC and Scones were/are TTC. Strangely me and DH continue to have protected sex despite already being pregnant Hmm but it saves on mess Grin

hope other people feel free to correct/add where appropriate

Good work PA

chinook · 16/02/2011 21:58

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes for ds. He is another Sam by the way.

Happy birthday PA

We have had such a lovely day. Loads of visitors and unexpected presents. I am really quite touched. Had a 'quiet' party tea yesterday for 4 mums and 8 children aged 1 to 5. Utter carnage!

HUGE congrats to PA, IC, and Scones. How lovely that you are all pregnant at the same time again. I have found motherhood just as special the second time round. Ds' personality is the polar opposite of dd's so it is like starting from scratch anyway. It has been a big test for me to see if I was envious that you are upduffed, and I am so relieved that I wasn't. We will be stopping at two. Am slightly concerned about this pregnancy jinx thing though as I have been preg 4 times, and each time was on the first month of trying! Mind you the one good thing about ds's appalling sleep and constant night feeds is that I still don't have my period back.

BG hope you get to your mum's ok, and v pleased that your dh wants another dc as it is so clear from your posts how much you would like another. Do have to disagree about the large birthday parties though. Dd is having her 5th in a hired hall in 2 weeks time. She has lots of friends now she is at school, and most have younger siblings so no way can we fit them all in at home. We are doing the entertaining ourselves though. Can't decide if that is brave or stupid. I see it as a test to see if I can cope with 25 5 yr olds as I am considering doing a PGCE soon!

Sweet dreams to all

PenguinArmy · 16/02/2011 22:15

ps curry was good. I miss lime pickle

chinook, I think that counts as VERY brave. I still keep toying with the PGCE idea, but the overtime involved in teaching would kill me I think, especially in those first few years.

night all, let's hope it's a good one :)

SchrodingersCatFliesToOz · 17/02/2011 08:20

PA Envy at the curry! sorry you feel queasy already.
Envy at your cursus as well, if you could do a phD and a postdoc with no horrendous overtime Confused or you are extremely bright (no doubt there), biology is definitely not a clever move.

Chinook you must be very courageous! Considering 25 5 yo for 1 day is very brave, doing that for the rest of your life Shock! I would need a lot of Wine

SB we haven't resumed any marital duty here, due to exhaustion, a 6 yo, and DH's job (we are lucky if we can spend 5 min talking face to face Sad). I guess if you want 3 you have to do it before the eldest drops the nap time, or wait till they can go out on their own.

scones I don't think DH knows my name and I would rather not to.

IC I was wondering if MrIC was yours Wink

Stan I was like IC for the 2 pregnancies off coffee, alcohol and chocolate. Confused It came back though Grin.

DD2 has a fever and is sleeping it off, I hope! That might explain the 4 wakings during the night.
I have DD1's ballet show tonight. She is very excited Grin It would be a pity if I have to go to the docs instead.

SchrodingersCatFliesToOz · 17/02/2011 08:21

Forgot to wave at stoof

SchrodingersCatFliesToOz · 17/02/2011 08:22

Happy birthday PA

BabyGiraffes · 17/02/2011 08:45

Have a network!!! Grin Journey went okay but I'm knackered... More later, having breakfast with fresh warm German bread rolls and a bucket of coffee.....

ChestnutSoup · 17/02/2011 09:28

Happy Birthday for yesterday PA!

Scones I don't like my DH knowing my MN name. I think it's partly on principle because he's so wierd about me knowing stuff about him (he's the master of poor communication as well).

chinook glad you had a good day. And good luck with the PGCE.

Hi Schro!

BC glad your LO is back to normal.

Just checking in really, nothing to report. Feeling a bit blue today - DH being a bit rubbish (flowers on Val Day don't make up for the fact that he hasn't cooked a meal for about four months, and he's dumped the news of another stag weekend on me) and I'm feeling a bit single parentish. Ah well, managed to write an article (1,800 words) yesterday and make a atart on another, so I'm keeping on top of things for now.

PenguinArmy · 17/02/2011 09:49

that's impressive writing chestnutsoup

BG I was rather confused by your telling us to have a network and then I realised it was probably you being happy that you have access to a network.

BabyGiraffes · 17/02/2011 12:35

PA sorry, yes, meant to say I found a network I can 'borrow' tehehe Grin. But only if I sit at the kitchen table Hmm
Oh, and belated happy birthday

CS my dh is a bit like yours... He certainly doesn't know my MN name and would be pretHe'll be using my computer while I am away (his laptop is kaput) and I even took the precaution of deleting my quick link from my computer to this and FB too so he doesn't start reading this thread and working it out...
[Grin] at your LO growing teeth in secret... Grin

BabyGiraffes · 17/02/2011 12:37

Grr.. somehow manage to hit a key on my netbook that starts eating previous text while I type... Angry
