It's humbling to look back at the last year and see how our LO's have gone from helpless newborns to action-packed pre-toddlers.

BRING IT ON!!!

Stan Sad Get well soon. I hope you are resting in bed, drinking lots of fluids. It's probably a blessing that DD is at nursery as you'd find it hard to look after her. of course you shouldn't go to work if you're ill! I mean don't go back on Weds necessarily, only if you're better. (Not just finished vomiting - but rested enough to be recovered.)

Well I officially can't keep up with you lot! I can't keep track of the FB group too! I will just have to pop in occasionally.

IC really hope DH's tooth is feeling better. Sounds AWFUL.

LBH agree feed DD as much milk as she wants while ill.

and DD has woken after only half an hour, and has woken crying so not in a good mood Hmm Better go hope to come back later.

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2011 10:43

LBH DD seems to be getting ill and she's eaten no solids so far today and normally she's had toast and porridge by now.

BabyGiraffes · 07/02/2011 14:35

PA hope she's not gone on strike because your MIL tried to force her! Also hope she feels a bit better by now. As long as she's drinking she should be okay...

Again, get well vibes to everyone! I feel a bit sorry for myself because I coughed half the night, but it does pale into insignificance with what some of you are dealing with... Sad
Stan Hope you can get some rest and your dd had a good first day.
IC How's your dh?

InmaculadaConcepcion · 07/02/2011 16:18

Ah, rubbish Stangirl, hope it passes soon. These things usually do, but they're hell while they last.

Fingers crossed your LO isn't sickening for anything, PA

Well, DH is feeling a bit perkier today. Still wibbly, but his temperature's back to normal and the swelling's gone down a bit. He couldn't get an appointment for today, but is resigned to waiting for tomorrow. The tooth has been less agonising the last couple of days and he's had a couple of better nights sleepwise, so all in all the situation is somewhat less despairing than it was!
He was very touched by all your good wishes and asked me to pass on his thanks.

DD had a pretty good night too, not waking until gone 3, needed a second resettle shortly afterwards, but then slept until 06.45. Smile
She's been very smiley and full of beans today, a real delight. She's now added waving to her repertoire and tooth number 8 has cut through, so all good.

How are you today Bc? I hope you and your DS are on the mend.

And urgh to have a cold, BG. I know they're hardly the end of the world, but personally I HATE them, so you have my full sympathy...

Have not read everything yet but just have to say Bethylou - so spooky my mum is also a Capricorn (Jan 6th) and has a best friend dying of cancer (mum has been to appointments etc. with her for years, but now she's only got a couple of months. Friend has a particular gene that makes you super-susceptible to breast and cervical cancer and she's had both and one of her daughters has the gene too).

Bearcrumble · 07/02/2011 17:16

Stangirl Sorry to hear you are so ill. Not nice at any time but especially not when pregnant. Hope you get well soon. For me this time it was only an afternoon and an evening of sickness so I hope it's similar for you.

IC I'm fine now thank you, and DS is on the mend. He also, LBH, only wants white bread or toast and petit filou. He is super-clingy.

Schrodinger Thank you so much for the info on antibacterial washes. I have for the first time in my life got eczema on my hands and in the crook of one elbow. I assumed because I was washing more often but it must be that stuff. Binning it today!

BabyGiraffes · 07/02/2011 17:55

dd2 has had a second bite out of our bathroom soap bar... Confused. Clearly the first bite didn't put her off sufficiently. (I can also only use one type of normal soap, hence the soap bar. Any liquid soap is worst for me and I end up with cracked bleeding hands).

StoneBaby · 07/02/2011 18:44

Get well wishes to all the mums and LO who are unwell!

Grin at BG DD2 new eating habit

DS can now feed himself with a spoon! Where it's messy is the putting of food into the spoon. He still on tooth 7 since December even if more can be seen through the gums which feel lumpy

ChestnutSoup · 07/02/2011 19:22

Get well soon stan and PA's DD (is it Esme?). And IC's DH. Roll on spring...

I had a meeting with my boss today so used it as a test run for the nursery runs and commuting. And it all went OK. I managed to get us all ready and to our various locations on time, I didn't look too much of a state, my meeting went well and I even managed to catch up with a friend for coffee, DH for lunch and do some shopping! And DD2 did quite well at nursery so maybe this is doable. I'm cream crackered though!

Sorry so many of your LOs are on hunger strike. I think it's quite normal when they are ill for them to regress a bit. I generally just go with it and find they go back to their usual good eating once they are better. Not sure about soap as one of the five a day mind...!

InmaculadaConcepcion · 07/02/2011 19:37

Way to go, CS! Smile

I've just tested positive!!

Bearcrumble · 07/02/2011 21:08

Can I offer congrats?

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2011 21:13

I think so. Though of course there are some decisions to be made. Guess we'll be heading back in the summer after all. DH is going to ask his old boss if there are any jobs.

Thrilled to be having another one but timing is a year off.

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2011 21:14

Of course this is all rather presumptuous anyway. 12 weeks is quite far off yet.

Bearcrumble · 07/02/2011 21:16

Yes but you're young - much more likely to be ok.

I can imagine it is mixed emotions - but I'm sure it will be wonderful (if hard work) in the end. One plus is that you get your mat leave with this one while no. 1 is still small so can spend more time with her.

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2011 21:18

US don't really do mat leave and I don't know if not having lived in the UK for past year will entitle to statutory especially if I don't have a job. ahhh a lot of things to think about and look up. but i guess that's whats savings is for

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2011 21:20

crap will my milk dry up for a while?

BabyGiraffes · 07/02/2011 21:24

Oh PA...maybe it's fate and will all work out brilliantly Smile. Having two is wonderful and having two so close together means they will be fantastic playmates... Just take it one thought/plan at a time. Oh, and congratulations! Grin There are plenty of people who'd be Envy that you weren't even trying!

BabyGiraffes · 07/02/2011 21:25

PA No expert, but I think you should be fine to carry on feeding and I've heard before people feeding a newborn and their older child!

LittlebearH · 07/02/2011 21:32

Congratulations PA
:)

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2011 21:34

It was the first time me and DH had proper sex as well. We'll have to cram in as much as possible in case I get the tiredness I did last time Grin.

BabyGiraffes · 07/02/2011 21:37

PA you two must be super fertile!!!! Grin... can't help feeling responsible for this... I was the one annoying you on here and you logged off for a bit, which you said was a good thing because it brought you closer to your dh again.... Oh crickey Confused. Sorry about that Grin

Bearcrumble · 07/02/2011 21:44

Are you having to pretend everything is normal in front of the in-laws?

PenguinArmy · 07/02/2011 21:52

it will help with the ILs. Everytime we get annoyed with them we can just think about that. DH is over the moon.

I think I'm still shaking

BG It would appear so, even the MAP is no match for my eggs. It's so cliche isn't it, 'it only takes once'.

BabyGiraffes · 07/02/2011 21:56

PA sorry... [goes and stands in a corner, but still grinning...]
