Have you seen the BIG bags of Tooty Frooties? They're 185grams. I opened one earlier, thinking I'd eat a handful... there are now just a handful left. Doing little sicky burps and tongue is sore from all the sugar. WHy did I do that?! WHY?!

SiameseCatWoman · 08/03/2011 19:58

Happy birthday littleblueydragon and for tomorrow smallestsariska

DD seems much improved, thanks for your thoughts. She's also finally had two good days at nursery. Increasing her hours worked then!

I hate posting from my iPhone - does anyone else find it hurts their eyes? I've had an eye test and there's no change, but my eyes are definitely struggling with the iPhone.

I'm going out on Saturday :) to an 80s fancy dress birthday. However I have to go by train and walk through Leeds alone, and my trial dress rehersal today confirmed I look less like Material Girl and more like Mental. Big coat it is then.

manda I'm not pregnant but I'll challenge you to a whole packet of anything. I can't stop myself once things are open, so I try only to open things when someone else is here to finish it with me!

Shroomer · 08/03/2011 21:32

Thought I'd look back in as our babies have/approach their first birthdays. Mine's at the end of the month. I was putting off coming back into the thread because I thought I'd get pregnant and then I'd be able to pop back in with some good news. But I'm not pregnant. I stopped BF at 5 months and now, nearly 7 months after stopping BF I've still not had a period. Doc did blood tests a month ago which were normal. The big question nagging away at me every day is - am I too old at 40y 2m to still be trying to conceive? I have one child.

I hope that you all have lovely birthdays - thought I'd make carrot cake for DS and stick a candle in it.

pixie - that's good news indeed. Lots of time. Shroomlet Grin. Or perhaps, button mushroom.

There seem to be many more smileys from whence I used to take part in these discussions. Have they been breeding? What would the b***d child of Wine and Envy look like?

Happy birthday for yesterday to Bluey's DS, and Sariska's DD today. Hope babies and mums (and dads/siblings/other assorted family members) had/have a lovely day :) Hope your bleaching efforts haven't been in vain Sariska and that everyone's feeling better.

I'm glad to hear your DD is eating better Manda.

Shroomer I hope your periods return soon (seems an odd thing to wish on someone, but ykwim). I had a similar thing when I came off the pill; took about 7 months and, like you, blood tests didn't show anything abnormal.

siamese glad DD is getting over her illness and settling at nursery. 80s fancy dress sounds fun, what are you going to be wearing?

The postman rang my doorbell when I was in the middle of my 30 Day Shred DVD this morning, and woke Isobel up. Grr. Finishing off my set of ab crunches with a small child trying to cuddle me was, well, challenging in a whole new way. On a somewhat related note, I've given up chocolate for Lent. Must be mad.

BusyMissIzzy · 09/03/2011 11:52

Oh and Pixie I like the Brew too, but I preferred the weeny cup and saucer.

slimmingsarahandco · 09/03/2011 14:12

BMI- i did my shred with a 3yr old helping and Elliott tying to climb all over me..... hmmm, maybe i need to lock them out! hahahah

Lovely to hear from you shroomer!

evitas · 09/03/2011 14:47

Bluey Happy birthday to your little boy

Sariska Happy birthday to your little girl

Hope you all have/had a fantastic day

x

MummyElk · 09/03/2011 20:23

(nice to see you shroomer Smile)

Sariska · 09/03/2011 23:00

Lovely birthday here today. Beautiful weather and a cheery, happy baby (baby! Can I still call her that?) to enjoy it with. It's made me feel so very blessed. But I can't believe a whole year has gone by that quickly. And I can't believe I will most likely never have a tiny baby again. (Although, to be fair, half the time, I am not sure I want another, being very happy with the two DC I have; I think I just want to relive the last year, if that makes sense.....)

Shroomer, nice to "see" you again - and I hope you do get another baby. And very soon, too.

Whose birthday is it next? PD's DS4? Happy birthday to everyone celebrating tomorrow Smile.

slimmingsarahandco · 10/03/2011 09:27

Happy Birthday wee J.. PD What is the feeling of celebrating the 1st birthday for the 4th time? Does it change, or is it the same feeling you had with the other DC?

x

squiggleywiggler · 10/03/2011 13:07

Happy birthday Joe and well done PD for getting through your 4th 1st year with aplomb!

Happy birthday to all the new one year olds joining my ancient February one year old on the bench. It's gone far too quickly for my liking but they are super dooper cutesville at the moment. S crawls around at speed shrieking her favourite word 'bottom'and roaring like a lion at everything.

Well done to the 30 day shredders, keep up the good work! (she says while eating a hob nob).

Shroomer, you'll get there - pixie can be your inspiration.

Manda go for it with those tooty frooties girl.

sarah so glad you and DH are back on track. I have my wobbly weeks too and have decided it's just part of marriage.

siamese giggling at the thought of your cross-town journey on Saturday wearing your 80s gear. Please crimp your hair - it's my fav 80s style.

Evitas I reckon you are just such a fab Mummy that V couldn't wait any longer to get here and that's why he came early. You are doing a brilliant job.

Busy busy here though having 6 whole weeks not on call as my March couple had their baby early which meant I've attended 5 births since 10 Jan! All have needed lots of postnatal support so it's been manic and I'm now booked up till August too.

Such sad news today from a friend which I won't post about but is making my heart ache.

much love to you all and your splendid babies

BusyMissIzzy · 10/03/2011 13:10

squiggey, Isobel roars at things too! We should get together for a coffee so they can roar at eachother :)

BusyMissIzzy · 10/03/2011 13:11

And Happy Birthday to wee Joe, of course x

BusyMissIzzy · 10/03/2011 13:12

squiggey? Sorry, squiggley, obviously Blush

Three posts in a row. I'm stopping now, honest.

MandaHugNKiss · 10/03/2011 14:35

Oh, I see what you're doing bmi - you're eyeing up the posting league table aren't you? Grin (I'm pretty sure I've probably fallen off it!)

I've missed a couple of birthdays (in time to wish dear little Joe a happy day though - PD it may be the fourth time for you, but my goodness what a challenging, and so, ultimately, rewarding year) but I am very much aware of all our little ones turning one.

James cracked me up today by picking up the behind-the-ear thermometer thingy I have and putting it to his ear like a phone and chatting away into it. He then went further to cover his other ear with his hand as if to hear better at what was being said to him! I am very rarely on my phone, DP is always on his so he must have got the idea from watching Daddy although neither of us cover our other ears... 'Tis amazing. He'll also go and fetch on command! If I say to him 'That's Not My Robot!' he'll go and get it whilst 'saying' 'Uh, uh, uh, uh-uh!' (considering he has six of the 'That's Not My...' books (heartily recommend them, by the way) that's good going!), similarly with 'Where's duck-duck' (he makes cute quacking noises as he fetches it too Grin). I wonder if I can train him to fetch me useful things in time for the new baby's arrival? James! Wipes! James! Nappies! Hmmm, I'll have to work on a conditioning training programme

I sound perkier, eh? I feel it today. Definitely still have that virus thing lingering on (thank goodness J has avoided or my antibodies in the milk have protected him) but I just feel...better. Fingers crossed I've left ms behind. That awful day when I cried must have been a final push.

BusyMissIzzy · 10/03/2011 16:57

I'm deeply offended by that suggestion Manda.

BusyMissIzzy · 10/03/2011 16:57

Deeply...
