Glad you've got childcare sorted :)

Sounds like you need a Wine

There has been much debate on other threads about the Brew, there was a teacup and saucer very briefly but that vanished in favour of the mug with the cannabis leaf mumsnet logo on which was a bit more generic hot drinky.

BlessedAssurance · 19/02/2011 22:08

happy birthday to Elliot and Squiggly cupcake hope you all had a lovely day..

evitas · 19/02/2011 22:29

so many posts!
I've been trying to post and read everything but it has been hard. I've also been working very long hours.

We went to a birthday party today, and the birthday girl (who was also 1 year old) had the most amazing little dress Envy! I want a girl next time Hmm

Sorry, no time for individual posts

Hi, IWCAS, glad to hear things are coming together for you.

Just v briefly on the subject of EDs: I totally agree with ang that GPs are not well trained to deal with this highly sensitive and difficult problem. Unfortunately, accessing specialist services if often v difficult (in my HB your BMI has to be

angfirsttimer · 20/02/2011 08:25

PD Shock at diarrhoea bug up your nose !!!

PacificDogwood · 20/02/2011 08:29

I don't know that yet, ang, just said C diff for dramatic effect Grin. Attention seeking, moi??

angfirsttimer · 20/02/2011 08:52

iwcas glad your childcare situation is getting sorted.

So I has my first full night away from DS last night, and I was soooo looking forward to a lovely sleep and lie in. Typically I slept really badly, thinking I could hear DS, generally tossing and turning. I am Angry at myself! Maybe I need to do it more often to get used to it?? Wonder what the GP's will say about that?

Ah must stop MNing now DH here with a Brew in bed

FlipFantasia · 20/02/2011 10:39

Fliss that's the MN logo on the mug?? I had totally thought it was a cannabis leaf and kept thinking "hmm, is there some stoner vibe on MN that I'm missing?" GrinBlushGrin

IWCAS glad your childcare situation is sorted! I know what you mean about one year olds! How did that happen?!?

PD you've taken the lurgy to a whole new level Grin

Ang sorry you had a rubbish night's sleep [typical emoticon] but at least you can enjoy a lie in with your DH (and bet your DS had big fun at his GPs!).

Waves to all. I'm off out for lunch with friends, sans DH and DS, and am v much looking forward to it!

scooby26 · 20/02/2011 22:29

Evening all- made it to work fri/sat/sun. After much bullying and questioning of my ability/ decision making i have walked out tonight half way through my shift- retired from shift sick with stress. Now I have to go to gp and bore them with this whole debacle and hope for their support. I can't actually believe I have managed to Last this long. I KNOW o am clearly stressed- no sleep, tummy pain, weight loss, think of nothing else than what's going on. I am actually thoroughly upset and disappointed it has come to this- I used to love my job. I'm soo sad. My birthday on Tuesday and DS first bday next Monday- so wish this wasn't happening. I have read your posts- honestly- but can't think straight to comment xxx love u all xxx

PacificDogwood · 20/02/2011 23:11

Oh, scooby, so sorry to read it has come to this SadAngry.
I hope you can get a feeling of resolution from having walked away. Can you?
Of course your GP will be supportive - believe me, workplace stress is a common thing to cause sick leave. Get them to put on your medical certificate 'work-related stress', that sometimes helps to get Something Done.

I was going to come on here to clear the tumbleweed away, but cannot be too flippant with you sounding that unhappy. I really hope you get a good night's sleep.
Smile xx

Arcadie · 20/02/2011 23:47

Happy birthday Elk

Get well soon PD

Scooby your blooming job - don't they realise that a happy worker is a productive worker. Silly sods.

BlueyDragon · 21/02/2011 09:23

Just popped on to say hi in case you all thought I'd completely disappeared.

Scooby, how grim for you. Hope the GP can help and that moves things forward. Hope DS is feeling better, too.

Manda, I don't have any words of wisdom to offer with DD but I hope you find a way to help. The only thing I would say is that if you do suspect an ED rather than exam stress then get the GP involved asap. I know Pacific said you have to have a very low BMI to get any intervention at all, but the GP is the gateway to the system.

Happy Birthday Babies!

Pixie, good to hear DD2 is improving.

We survived skiing, Alex is full of conjunctivitis again and is so enormous he looks like Buddha.

BlueyDragon · 21/02/2011 09:24

Sorry for lack of shouts, blame the iPhone rather than my leaky head.

< smac gets the pom poms out for a happy dance !> DD2 has had no boobie feeds in the night for the last 3 nights. This is a miraculous turn of events. I really hope I'm not jinxing it by typing it here. She is not sleeping through but I can settle her without resorting to the boob which is progress. I don't think I said DH had had a big moan and set an ultimatum re sleep training which I was just ignoring and doing my own thing as usual Grin
scooby I'm sorry you are feeling so low. I do hope your GP is suportive, if not please find another one.
pacific how is the flurescent snot?
pixie enjoy coffee and cakes Grin
sarah I meant to say the other day I'm pleased your dog got the all clear - they really are part of the family.
siamese have you heard how Monty is doing?
valium come and tell us how baby V's party went?
melk I saw the photo's on FB of Elk's party - you were brave!
flip good decision to put the IVF off til later in the year.
pixie how is DD2 getting on?
manda how is DDs eating?
bluey hope the conjunctivitis gets better, DD had it and the gunk coming out was nearly as bad as PDs description of her nose. They called with the swab results and just said there was lots of nasty stuff there but I didn't get the details as the cream they had prescribed had already done the job by the time the results came back.

PacificDogwood · 21/02/2011 20:42

Well done, BabySmac - long may it continue.

How are you today, scooby? Did you see youre GP? Have some Wine.

bluey, welcome back, but I am so Envy of your skiing trip - we are still hoping to go in the first week in April but there are no flights out of Scotland to be had for love nore money...

Belated happy birthday to Elk

Anybody know of any kind of cure for toddler tantrums : suffice to say we arrived at our toddler group with DS3 without trousers, shoes or jacket on, both of us covered in snot, Joe had not had any breakfast yet (apart from boob juice) and I was obviously so frazzled from how the morning had gone, I had left my changing bag with baby food at home... Joe was remarkable cheerful all morning considering he got his breakfast @ 2.30pm Shock.

Early night for me tonight, but enjoying a Brew of peppermint tea at the moment. Oh yes, I live life in the fast lane Grin.

scooby26 · 21/02/2011 21:32

Greetings

How much better do I feel just for taking control back and walking out!

Bonus- PACIFIC, put for nite Childfree to posh hotel with bottle of wine for my birthday Xx

Flisspaps · 21/02/2011 22:20

Glad you feel better Scooby Grin

Pingpong · 22/02/2011 09:31

OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWHHHHHHHH!
My right boob is in agony. All happy dances cancelled forthwith!
I rushed off to the gym as soon as DH got through the door as it closes at 8pm and you need to be there for 7.30 to do a 30m circuit and I neglected to feed DD2 before bed. TBH she usually only takes a little bit and she had had quite a big feed at 5.30pm so I didn't feel guilty much.
She woke at 3.30am and I shushed her and then woke at 6.50am so I happily gave her sore booby. At 8.30am I then gave her more sore booby and I've now taken some ibuprofen. I feel sh!th though.
4 nights of no feeding is good but I am paying the penalty now Sad

Grin that you feel a bit stronger scooby and nice hotel and nice wine sounds very great.

Nana is having DD1 overnight for the first time ever tonight!!! (there has been loads of talk but never any action!) I have had a couple of nights away from her but she has stayed at our house so this will be DD1s first sleep over without mummy. I am very excited ! DH is on night shift so just me and baby G and doglet. Early to bed for Baby G and remote control and sofa and laptop for me, perhaps with a Wine

And FWIW I much preferred the teacup to the Brew

SiameseCatWoman · 22/02/2011 11:01

hello ladies.
Smac congrats on the night weaning! my boobs are all over the shop too, Ive been trying to cut out daytime feeds and suceeded, replaced by cows milk, so I was then only feeding at 6pm, 11pm and 6/7am. Then I dropped 6/7am ok, and tried to drop 11pm on saturday and my boobs are objecting massively. Any ideas what Ive done wrong? I didnt notice any engorgement when i dropped the other feeds, but last night/today ive had to feed DD at 7am, and 10am just to feel better, which seems counter intuiative..
Thanks for asking about Monty. Ive spoken to the couple who took him, and they said he is having a lovely time on their laps and playing, and had no accidents. They let him out and he went missing but came back in the end - they had the whole street under cars and in sheds it sounds like :)

Happy birthday to Elk and Scooby, and I hope all babies and mummies are having nice parties. I havent planned anything yet.

How's your snot pacific - what brand did it turn out to be?

ICWAS Im also looking forward to 2 April, and seeing all our babies together in the sun, and it looks like we'll be spending the day running after them! DD has been taking steps hre and there, but walks amazingly when holding your hand (just one) so just needs some confidence to march around alone.

memory blank..

Bluey hows the marathon training? When is marathon?

think i need a nap too - DDs cough keeping us all up :(

waves to everyone else and fingers crossed the sun comes out in March :)

BusyMissIzzy · 22/02/2011 11:49

Morning all, Isobel is napping so I'll try to catch up a bit. I've been luring lots, but nothing of much interest to say usually. Life is very boring here, although yesterday we had some spectacular sicking. I think it must have been a tummy bug. I've been tentative with food today, just in case, but she seems to be keeping milk down, and had a yogurt for breakfast.

scooby I'm glad you're feeling more positive and in control of the work situation. Hope you have a lovely birthday :)

MummyElk happy birthday to Elk! Great photos on FB, she is just the cutest (and most deceptively angelic looking) toddler, honestly. And DD2 with her fairy wings! Bless.

Manda how is your DD doing? I hope you're managing to look after youself in the midst of such a stressful time, too.

Pacific are you recovering from your nasal (or naval) bug? I hope you get your skiing trip sorted bu-ut if you don't, I hear Birmingham is lovely at that time of year Wink

ang and bluey good to see you both. Hope Alex's conjunctivitis is getting better Bluey.

Smac I'm with you on the teacup, it was very sweet. The mug is a bit clunky in comparison, imo. I wonder what emoticons MNers will be petitioning for next. Cake maybe? Well done to you and baby G on the night weaning. And I hope DD1 enjoys her sleepover :)

siamese I'm glad to hear that Monty is settling well at his new home.

Uh-oh, she's awake. Better go..

BusyMissIzzy · 22/02/2011 11:52

..and she's just been sick all over her bed :(

Arcadie · 22/02/2011 15:07

Pingpong · 22/02/2011 18:02

feeling very sorry for myself. I've got a migraine and mastitis Sad.
Got emergency doctors appt and had to go to reception and say 'I'm sorry to make a fuss but I think I might faint, could I lie down somewhere' Blush
I am now on antibiotics and still feel crap.
DD will not take much milk from me despite my repeated attempts. I don't know whether to try and pump a little off to ease my discomfort?
Any suggestions here would be very welcome.
Will maybe start thread in the B&B feeding section.
Thank goodness DD1 is off at Nana's!
